Crowning of King Christopher I – Nation Rejoices
LONDON: The citizens of the Union watched with rapt attention today before celebrating the joyous occasion of the crowning of the new monarch, His Imperial Majesty King Christopher I, Lord Commander of His Imperial Majesties’ Most Glorious Armed Forces and Monarch-Protector of the Anglo-Saxon Union. The event marked the two-week anniversary of the death of His Imperial Majesty King Jonathan V, who passed away in his sleep at the age of 79.
His Imperial Majesty makes history today, not only as the one hundredth Monarch of the Anglo-Saxon Union but also as its youngest at 18 years of age. Speaking shortly after his coronation, HIM King Christopher I promised the nation he would reign “fairly, firmly and benevolently” and promised to fulfil his monarchical role as Protector of the nation by overseeing the activities of the democratic government of the Anglo-Saxon Union.
Celebrations across the country are still ongoing 8 hours after the event, and are expected to continue long into tomorrow.
New Prime Minister appointed
In an announcement planned to coincide with the Coronation of HIM King Christopher I, the ruling Fasci-Liberal Party announced the appointment of the new Prime Minister of the Anglo-Saxon Union.
This follows the vote of no confidence brought about last week by the three main opposition parties (Labour, Conservative and Nationalist) supported by several backbenchers in the ruling Party after the House brought into question the conduct of former Prime Minister Gregory Hecksworth MP regarding links to directors in several corporations. Due to the strong majority held in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the Fasci-Liberal Party was not required to call a General Election.
The announcement by Party spokespeople declared that the Chancellor of the Exchequer, The Honourable Duke George Oxford II GCMG, had been elected as Head of Government by an internal vote yesterday. The Prime Minister’s Office issued a brief statement claiming that the PM “Thanks the nation for their support and will continue the good works of his Party in the spirit of free enterprise and a strong state.”
