A Few Survivors (open, FT)
The Wantee Republic

Commander Ni'eel Do'mire sat quietly going over charts, data from the sensors and crew reports.
They were the only survivors from there home world Al'Terac. There home world had been destroyed by a massive asteroid 3 months ago. All there supplies of food had run out seven days ago.
The Remaining Wantee ships now jumped from system to system trying to find any sign of a planet where they could call home.
The Wantee fleet came out of hyperspace and there long range scanners came to life with a flurry of activity. They scanned an screened all bit of information they could.
Suddenly an alarm went off. The command stood up "What is that, what is that alarm!?" The ensign turned to him. "We have detected a unknown ship in the system!!!"
The commander licked his lips "All right, Listen up i want this done right! Shields up! All military ships short range jump, Surround it!"
The flag ship Fo'Dert and the other military ships 13 in total jumped and surrounded the unknown ship.
When the jump was complete they had surrounded the ship.
The commander took the comm. device and spoke into it. "Please don't be alarmed, we are survivors of a massive disaster, Please help us. We are in dire need of food, and water. Please... Help us" The Commander didn't know if they could understand what he said but... he hoped they could hear the helplessness in his voice.
Suddenly his Marine commander slithered up to him. He was a fine example of how a Wantee male should be. He was heavily muscled and toned even through his carapace. his long tail was thick and could probably support 5 times the weight.
"Sir, My Marines could board that ship and take the food, it is an option.."
The commander looked at him. "No. its not..."
The Marine commander bowed lightly, "Yes sir."
The Dreadnaught Dactynatha's sensors picked up a number of ships entering the system.
"Wonder who they are?"
"No idea, don't show up on the lists."
"Well, we'll see what they do."
As the ships re-aligned and jumped to surround the Dactynatha, it's sheilds went to full active, as ships without the correct codes had gotten within the minimum distance.
"Sir, we're receiving a message, but the TLA is having a beast of a time making it out."
"Send them a message asking what they want, who they are, and include a translation code, mathematical and conventional."

OOC Wantees are 7'5'' foot tall lizards. they have a torso and arms like a human but they have a long tail that they prop themselves up with. there skin is a scaly carapace that is extremely strong.
The Commander tried to make out the strange message and what seemed to be translation codes were being rejected by the automated computers... Nothing seemed to work... Suddenly the commander had an idea.... he turned to one of is ensigns. "Could we beam on to the bridge?"
The ensign thought for a moment. "Maybe if we shot the shield with a High frequency, High proton blast form our plasma gun we could cause a quiver in there Shields that may let us beam you onto there bridge... but you could be splattered against the shields...."
The Commander sighed "Do it..."
-----
THe Flag ship fired a single plasma blast and as the bolt hit the shields the Commander was beamed onto the bridge...
The insane chill of being beamed passes over quickly as he realized that he was not dead but on the bridge of the other ship... He stood there and looked at the small little beings... they were strange to him... he had never seen a intelligent creature that stood on legs... He raised his hands in an nonthreatening manner.
Hopefully unknown to the other ships. There was a small probe sitting not far from this area of interest.
The probe wasn't unmanned, infact, it had 3 Amerathian's in it. (wether or not they are drinking coffee and watching sports games is not up to me!) And they seemed to be interested in what was going on with these 2 fleets. It looked like one had shot the other, but they couldn't tell.
Since this probe had no Jump capabilities, It was safe to say there'd be a larger ship nearby. (Not too large, might I add.)
As the 'lizard' appeared one of the many automated internal defences, this one a passive but exceptionally powerful inhibitor and stasis field generator, snapped into effect around the creature.
Meanwhile the ship's weaponry systems activated, thought didn't engage. All they needed was the command of the captain or an excutive officer or failing that, the discretion of the A.S. which would promptly render the fourteen ships into slag, or at least near representations of it.
Back on the bridge.
With two crew, each carrying an MSaber, guarding the large odd lizard the captain approached and asked, "Give me one good reason not to turn you into mulch, and your fleet into debris?" He asked in the voice of a very pissed off man.
Captain Sedek stood at an even six foot in his bare feet, and was built like the proverbial brick wall. He was nearly religiously possessive of the Dactynatha and had the aura that he could take the invader apart bare-handed.
ooc: On my end there is only one ship, a Dreadnaught, but still only one ship.

The Commander looked at the funny looking man. He thought for a moment... He pointed at the fleet... then used his index and middle finger and pointed at his eyes and looked around the bridge sparratically, then he made a motion like he was eating something. He did the looking motion again and then repeated the eating motion.
he hoped the man would understand... it was basic but without a common language he could not communicate with the man intelecutally...
"Sir, it looks like that overgrown lizard is trying to eat air. Just a guess but maybe it's hungry."
"Even so, without a chance to run that throught a BAC, then it'll as likely bite the bullet as get fed."
Sedek thought for a moment, "Get the lizard a Neut." He ordered, causing a crew member to leave. "Oh, and Dac, kill the stasis, but leave the inhibitor."
The lizard could now move easier , thought not fast. As some of the crew watched the scalely creature, the rest of the crew returned to buisness. A few minutes after the crew member left, he returned with a brown squarish lump of neutra-loaf which in it's unprocessed state, which it was presently, had the consistancy and colour of rye bread, while the taste of white bread. The crew member handed the lump of neutra-loaf to the lizard and stepped back.

The commander took the food grasiausly and sniffed it... it was strange it smely like nothing he had ever smelt before. He broke some off and put the peices inside his mouth... It tasted blan but it still was nurishment... he swallowed it andstood for a moment... nothign felt wrong.
He pointed at the food and then pointed at the fleet. He ate the rest of the...the... Nurishment and swallowed it.
then he made a motion as if he was writing something, he pointed at the writing tool.
Unfortunately for him/her/it, what the lizard pointed was a tool used in a 4-D chess game, and thus no one understood what it wanted.
"Do you want more food?" Sedek asked of the lizard, thought he didn't expect to get anywhere unless they figured out some form of communications. As it was, he wondered if what ever computers these creatures used was defective, as it should have been able to at least deal with the most basic word translations by now.

He stood for a minute until he could figure out what to do... Suddenly one of the little creatures was holding a pad and was writing on it with some sort of writing tool...
He pointed at the paper "That i need that!" he knew they wouldn't under stand what he said but he hoped they would understand now...

Sedek wondered what the lizard was refering to, before he realized that it was pointing at the off-duty crew member's sketch pad. He'd heard off the alien and was indulging his hobby.
"Hey Jose."
"Ya Capt?"
"Might I borrow a sheet and a pencil, this alien seems to want them."
"Do you insist?"
"Unfortunately I must."
"Oh alright." Jose said as he tore a sheet off and passed a pencil to Sedek, who passed them to the alien.
ooc: Just a note, dictating actions of another person's stuff/characters ect is technically considered god-modding which is frowned on. For example, in normal circumstances, officially there is no paper on any navy vessel.

Ic: The signature flash of purple tinted light marked the arrival of the Kazeci vessel. Scanners began to fulfill their purpose, soon detecting the fleet. As the massive SC moved forward, a message was broadcast to all. The Theao ship would certainly understand, but would the others?
We are a Ship of Kazecistan. We come on a mission of exploration. May we inquire as to the recent precedings in the area?

The A.S, seeing the captain and XO occupied, forwarded the message to the next in chain of command, who replied:
To: Kazecistan
We have found ourselves in a first contact mission and are presently having problems in communications. It appears that the aliens are hungry, but as we are unable to properly communicate, we can not say.
Inclosed: Communications from aliens/Images of aliens.

OOC: I don't care about Theao... Nice to meet you.
IC:
A single Arbiter and Strike Cruiser stumbled on the fleets in betwen jumps, the Protoss weren't sure what was going on, but it seemed that they didn't know who one of the fleets belonged too, there was a Dreadnoiught from Theao, but they couldn't identify the other ones. So, they decided the best course of action was to make contact, hopefully friendly contact.
They sent out a psionic thread, knowing that there were no limitations on mental contact, they would be understood by the other race...
Transmission to the Unknown Fleet:
We are the Protoss, members of the Terran Dominion, do not be afraid, we are simply speaking directly into your minds, simply think whatever your reply is, and we will understand you.

[QUOTE=Theao]Jose said as he tore a sheet off and passed a pencil to Sedek, who passed them to the alien.QUOTE]
Ni'eel took the paper and pencil and began to draw letting the creature who had seemed to be in charge see what he was drawing.
First of he drew a circle, then he added organic (not strait) lines connecting to the perimeter of the circle or connected the lines to themselves.
Then he drew 5 small figures of beings with tails. he drew a circle around them and made a line pointing them into the crewed drawing of a planet.
He waited a minute and on another part he drew a small oval and added a flame trail...
Ni'eel connected the oval object to the planet and scribbled out the planet and also scribbled out 4 of the Wantee figures. he then drew small objects on the paper. Trying to make them look like star ships, He made lines that connect all the small ships to the last wantee figure.
Ni'eel looked up at the man to see if he understood

ooc: I always thought stuff like that, MM, was just weird. What would it be like to just hear someone's voice in your head at a random moment?
Ic: The crew did what they could to understand the aliens, but failed. Perhaps visual communication would work? Still on open channels, a video only message was transmitted. *several people were shown in friendly gestures* The point was not so much to show themselves as friends, but more to give the aliens an idea on how best to start communication.
The psionic dampeners, designed to prevent non-agumented psychics from even having a chance of entering the ship with their minds did it's job filtering out the Protoss attempts at contact with the Dactynatha . This had been installed to prevent a psychic from attempting to gain control of a ship of the Theao Navy.
The third in the chain of command returned a message informing the Kazecistan that they were presently trying charades to communicate.
Jose came as Sebek gestured to look over the drawings. "It appears like a two year old's depiction of a planet getting 'roided."
"Well we can't do much for them if they need a new planet, especially as we have no idea what kind of enviroment they need." Sebek commented
"We can't help you get a new planet." He commented to the alien.

IC: In the next dimension a Mongoloid science vessel was watching the scene through their telemorphic scopes. 3, maybe 4 vessels, all alien. The crew of 15 gazed at their captain and waited for a response.
"We shall establish contact!"
The ship soon ripped into the 3rd dimension, withen sight of the original alien craft(the lizard one). The science vessel, described as a large flying 'saucer' by some humans, watched the alien ship meticoulously. Soon a code was put in the computer, and a greenish beam shot out from the science vessel. It was inactuality the First Mate's planecks(smallest size of ANYTHING, way smaller then even electrons) being squeezed through spaces in the ship, onto the bridge of the alien craft.
The Firstmate gazed at the strange reptilian beasts before them. He slowly pressed a button on his suit, activating the Translat-O-Box. The lizards would need to speak first, so that the box could find their translation code. Then they could communicate.

The X.O was greatly disturbed by the sudden and unexpected contact with the different types of people. He ordered all non military ships to jump away to a safe distance.
Suddenly the X.Os mind was invaded by something else's thoughts... This scared him...
"Can we get the commander out?"
The ensign shook her head "No, sir"
The X.O slammed his fist on the table. "Break off from the original ship, battle stance A3 i want our weapons up! I want these beings to understand that we are capable of defending ourselves"
The fleet the broke off from the original ship and Plasma guns came on line.
Message to the Protoss
We are survivors of our planet that had been destroyed by an asteroid... We have been searching for a new home world but our food supplies are gone...
The X.O studded the video of the beings that were giving them strange, friendly gestuers.... He didn't trust them... not yet....
-----
Ni'eel was saddened by the mans responce... He didn't understand but the tone of his voice was all that he needed...
Ni'eel was unsure what was going on outside of the ship... He erected himself to his full height of about 7'8''.
"Don't look at me like that." Sebek commented, "It's kind of hard to give someone a planet when you or your nation doesn't own on to begin with. But if you can understand basic co-ordinates, related to here, we can point you in the direction of a number of Earth type worlds that do not have an evolving or evolved H.I. species, or anyone claiming them." "But my lord, there are few worlds left from the old confederacy, and those we have discovered are fewer still... Most of them are unpleasant to say the least, and others are downright hostile... Braxis and Marduk being prime examples."
"Yes, but since the Eternals rescued us, we are duty bound to aid others, we have a debt to repay, it is our way!"
"Yes my lord, perhaps one of the Combine Worlds?"
"That was my thought as well, Kel Moria itself has recently been abandoned, we can give it to them..."

Ni'eel bowed his lightly at the man. "Hit? By what?"
"Unknown. Whatever it was it knocked out his monitoring systems. It's unclear if he is alive or dead."
The captain of the ship was no warrior, just a scientist. But he had been well trained. He knew this race had never encountered a Mongoloid before, so he had the power of bluff on his side.
"The alien ship is readying weapons, and so shall we."
"But...this vessel has no weapons sir."
"Ah, but they don't know that. I want both extracto-arms out and revolving. Flood their claws with Hydrium 26. Then prepare to send a message to the aliens!"
Two long arms extended from the bottom of the Saucer, each ending in 4 talons. Slowly they began spinning. As the Hydrium 26 began to mix, the talons began to glow an eerie green, as if ready to fire some strange weapon. Soon a message was sent to the Lizard's ships:

"I am Ralph 3524, first class scientist and navigator/historian of the Brainchild, our science vessel. I represent the mighty people of The Horde...of Doom!" We are capable oif providing the home, and food to an extent, but it is likely that they need more than that, and that is all we can supply."

IC: The I.S.S. Eleanor (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Kvess/Schematics/Eleanorspacecruser.png), the first Eleanor class exploration cruiser launched from the new shipyard facility in orbit around Draconia III, even though the facility was still under construction, a few drydocks were operational., had picked up the little gathering of ships on her long-range sensors sweeps that were being made for Astrometrics. She opened a Jump Point into (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Kvess/Other%20Stuff/jumpgat4.gif) Hyperspace only to jump back out (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Kvess/Other%20Stuff/jumpgat3.gif) to Real Space a few minutes later. The kilometer long ship came to a stop a kilometer from the Theao dreadnaught with all stealth systems off-line, except for a few that protected the secrets her insides contained.
The Draconian (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Kvess/Character%20Pics/Bronze_Dragon_by_jaxxblackfox.jpg) captain broadcast a message to all ships near-by:
Greatingsss. This is the I.S.S. Eleanor. We come in peace. We mean you no harm.
OOC: I use the Babylon 5 style Hyperspace mostly.
OOC: The Draconian language is made up of hoots, whistles, grunts, growls, and hisses. I really based it off of sounds real reptiles make. I'm working on a design for the Draconian universal translator they would wear.

Also, how may we help you?
The third in command sent back, as he sent a message off to the captain.
Sedek, receiving the message was on the verge of ripping his hair out. He'd been expecting a nice quite break as he waited for the elements of the second division of the second fleet to report in, but NO, he had to get stuck playing diplomate to a whole host of diverse others.
"It appears we have another visitor, thought not another guest, yet." He commented to the assembled in a calm voice, thought if someone actually looked at him they'd see a rather large vein in his forehead pulsing and he had the look of a man who would proceed to kill someone by ramming a screw, make that a rusty large jagged screw, up their arse if something else went wrong.

Ni'eel thought for a moment. "Meat isnt a necessity and also plays a major part in our nutrient intake. Wantees NEED meat but when can go long periods without it... A Wantee that doesn't can go into a primal state called in our oldest of languages Bo'ilictar (Bo ill ectar) which means hungar rage. We go into a rage that can only be stopped by a massive intake in meat. It doesn't matter what source... There have even been cases where a single enraged Wantee has killed, and ate three others in one feast. I dont like telling you this but... We place our trust that you can see past our flaws... Even though we are very intelligent we are still plagued by our most primal influences.. It embarrass us all that we admit this to you.

An Asgard class (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Kvess/Ships/asgard2.jpg) runabout launched through the protective force-field keeping the bay pressurized. The twenty-seven meter long craft sped across the kilometer seperating the SeaQuestian ship from the Theao ship.

Ni'eel smiled lightly "I know we will, your kindness will be repayed 10 fold... By the honor rights of the Wantee i hear by declare a blood bond between our peoples."
Ni'eel unshethed a small blade from his belt and made a small insision on his lower palm he let a small blood bubble appear and held his held his hand out to Sedek.

Sedek shook Ni'eel's hand, thought he declined to cut himself for a number of reasons.
