Seeing as everyone seems a bit stuck on the length of the ships in the 40K universe, I have had a go at doing the lengths of vessels of the Imperial Navy for the reference of my own nation, but if anyone else is interested then here it is:

This was made working on the concept that the Cobra Destroyer is 1.5 kilometres long. I may have a stab at doing some crew complements soon.

Actually this helps visualize not only the sizes, but the actual ships themselves. It'd be great to see more of this for the rest of the vessel classes of the other race's militaries. =^^=

No prob. =^^= Besides, I've been keeping in mind some WH40K vessel designs for my NPC Infernal and Heavenly Grand Fleets. I talked it over a bit with Chronosia at one point about it all.
Using something basically familiar for the forces of the two most powerful entity forces in an FT setting just adds to the flavor of my uber war or uber wars. =^^=

If you can get a sucessful project going to lay down some size and crew perameters for WH40K ships, that would re-define awesome! I encourage you to keep at it, it would prove invaluable if you pull it off. Some nations might not recognize it, but if you can get good stats, then you're one mere step away from a storefront.
If this is right, BTW, a Cobra would be about on par with a standard ISD. That's scary to think about... (EDIT: you might want to use that as a beginning. Look at similar sized ships. Although Chronosia and the other much more experienced WH40Kers would know far more.)
At least my Dreadnoughts can engage anything below an Overlord and win...
Hrm, I found a ship comparison site that put the Retribution at 8km long. How did you come up with these sizes?
