Marhox, Marharthia
Early this afternoon a declaration of independence was signed by 34 civil activists in a group of islands in the northern Pacific. Located just of the coast of the Invader Murdering State of Experimentato, the archipelago had become tired of anarchy and tribal warfare. For many years there had been no government in this area of the Pacific, and the residents were ready for a change. The Declaration of Independence made it clear that the nation's top priorities would be for the poor and homeless, and the hope to make an effective government of Democratic Socialism. The citizens "look down on capitalistic states and feel that they are immoral and corrupt." The Democratic Republic of Marharthia has yet to make an attempt to join the United Nations, and upon questioning, the elected Prime Minister had this to say:
The Parliament and I feel that we should refrain from applying to the U.N. until we are able to become more involved on a global level. We believe that our growth as a nation should be unhindered by international laws until we are ready.
The Prime Minister has decided to hold a banquet in Marhox to celebrate Marharthian independence. The banquet will take place on December 12, 2005, but he says, "any and all guests that arrive at any time before or after the banquet will be welcome in this country and will be housed as such. We would like to make some friends in our region, and, indeed, everywhere in the world. We are a peaceful nation, and will conduct diplomacy as such."
The Declaration of Marharthian Independence gives a set of constitutional rights that are remarked upon by one expert political scientist to be, "excellent, especially when the youngness of this nation is considered."
All in all, Marharthia seems to be off to a good start, and the banquet will only serve to strengthen this blooming nation-state.
