At last the civil war in Darvainia is over in a relieving, though somewhat puzzling turn of events.
In a breaking story the surrender of religious fanatics and the capture of Reid Glucky has at last led to peace. In exchange for the less harsh punishment of permanent exile, Greg Berson has agreed to leave and call off his radical followers, therefore they stepped down and have agreed to allow the peace process to go on. Meanwhile he encourages all those in the moralist movement "Take up your steeple and leave your godless nation for a land where morality is still alive."
In other events the facists have also stepped down, with their leader Reid Glucky captured, and their forces mostly scattered and destroyed, and due to overwhelming international pressure. Selected leaders will be charged for war crimes and face any sentance from death with parole, to life without parole (unfortunately the cases are at standstills as all the prosecutors and defense attorneys are mildly dislexic). Reid Glucky is also in international custody, and his fate remains in the hands of his foreign captives.
Communists and Libertarians are also in the process of discussing a new constitution, and a new parliament has been immediately insituted in an emergency election. Once a new constitution has been ratified by the parliament new members will be elected along with a new Head of State, whose position will have a new name based on the results of the constitution, and the majority of the new Parliament. Elections and reconstruction will begin immediately.
The nations of the world are hereby encouraged and called on by the people Darvainia however, to aid us in the reconstruction effort. Countless thousands have lost their homes, thousands more innocents and combatants alike have died in battle, and the environment is in shambles due to chemical warfare, which is also causing disease. In addition the central government is just getting back on its feet and reorganizing law and order, defense, education, and all the other critical features of a government. Looting, murder, and rape, even the abuse of children is common in the streets and there is little any organized institution can do, vigilante justice is reigning in the streets, and the nation is being taken over by gangs and thugs. Hate crimes are also being noticed for people of religious background due to the feelings of contempt toward their fanatic counterparts who contributed to this tragedy, and of course many are taking this as an oppurtunity to blame the "foreign" minorities for whats taken place. The new Parliament has quite a job ahead of them is asking for donations, relief efforts, and whatever else the international community can do. Also for those nations who helped during this terrible conflict we extend our thanks and wish there was someway to show our gratitude for all you've done, but ask as your troops depart our country you would consider leaving MPs (military police) behind to help with some law and order at least. If not of course, we understand.
