The Breaking of Old Ties Brings New Beginnings (FT open)

Kazecistan
09-12-2005, 05:25
With Kazecistan's recent departure from The Republic, new opportunities have arisen. Never in its recorded history has Kazecistan been without the warm comfort of a close alliance. These new times have brought the populous to a new consensus: Kazecistan shall make it on its own. But this cannot be accomplished with out diplomatic allies. And so, after much preparation, a conference of friendly nations has been called.

The rather long message is summarized in these snippets:
Any and all nations are invited to send representatives to the planet of Kazec for an indeterminate stay and diplomatic talks.Old debts and grudges shall be forgiven of all nations who ask it during these new beginnings. Also included was information such as ship limitations (fewer than 1 capitol vessel and/or 3 lesser vessels), entourage limitations (fewer than 10 armed guards on the surface with the exception of other arrangements), and travel information (how to get there and codes to send to inquiring patrols).

Security in the system was beefed up so that Kazeci ships would out number all the new vessels. Ground security would also be tight, but it would not choke out the festivities (this was to be as much a calibration as a diplomatic conference).

ooc: This thread is basically to set up embassies, alliances, trade, non-aggression, and to have a few festivities while showing off my planet.

Some background so that we have it clear from the start. I have split from the Republic due to the fact that I can no longer coexist with some of its inhabitants OOCly. My IC cover is a difference in moral views and ideology (very true). Yes, I now hold an ignore with several members of the Republic, but only because having a major war would hurt the story I had planned out for my nation and some of them feel the need to attack and conquer my nation for its departure (continuation of ooc feelings with a legitimate IC cover story). I don't want to sever relations, but I refuse to RP a major war at this time. Please don't let their opinions or comments of me interfere with our relations, as I am open to RPing with anyone (just not on all topics).

Also, Republic members (anyone really): do not post negative comments about me or my nation in this thread. Don't try to justify it. Only positive diplomatic relations and IC posts will be accepted. If you really wish to come in with slander, do it over TG where I may delete it. If you have questions about my departure, feel free to ask them nicely in a TG, I'll respond in kind.

I know, a lot of ooc, but it is necessary to keep the thread's intent in line with its posts.

Grudges to be forgiven; pacts to be made and renewed; strength to go hand in hand with perfection itself. They knew the Kazeci's intimately; a deep hatred for either side permeated their conflicts; yet now; a chance. A diplomatic venture to be made; an alliance to be brokered and strengthened....

The possibilities in themselves were endless; and thus the message came forth; no mockery in it's tone.

Poor little lost ones...

And thus they came; a Chronosian vessel transmitting coordinates; requesting permission; requesting diplomatic duty.

I am Ezekial of the most holy Inquisition. I am sent by order of my soverign Lord, Remiel De Drakan; Emperor of all the Imperium; to make peace between the sons of Kazec and the Children of Chronosia and Terra. We come before you offering peace and alliance; an end to our age old blood feud...

ooc: some funny stuff is going on with my split timelines now. This thread takes place after the two merge. In one, I will have recently rebuilt most of the dominion; in the other I will never have had war with Tal. This fuzzy time is best forgotten in RPs as it gets very tricky.

I will still need allies and diplomatic ties either way, though, so the thread must go on.

Ic: The thought of Chronosians made many think about resending their words of peace. Yet this was wrong, and they would try to let it happen. The general consensus came to be 'watch them closely and at the first sign...' And so they did. All incoming vessels were escorted by Kazeci military vessels.

The count down to festivities has begun. All nations are welcome to join, even late if such is the most convenient. The gathering over the planet grew.

The Imperial shuttle craft tore through the atmosphere of the world; rending asunder the thin air, in waves of coruscating fire. As it set itself down; a ramp sliding forth from its belly like some gilded tongue; doors opening; to reveal, in full Inquisitorial Garb, Ezekial. A black armored carapace covered his form; bold and silver interlaced amongst it; while a long red cloak, seeming to be made of gas and beautiful silks, moved and curled about him like smoke.

Behind him, three cloaked attendants, forms unknowable beneath the voluminous folds of their clothes, followed; flanking him; protecting him as he set foot for the first time upon previously hostile soil.

"So, this is the home of the Kazeci people..."

Kazeci messages were relayed through deep space monitoring outpost directly to Officials of the Federal Empire. Korgareins had witnessed the fall of relations between the Republic and one of its most loyal and zelous members. Being not of the Republic, the Federal Empire feels a need to restore the relations that was lost between the Kazeci people and the Federal Empire. A vessel would be sent and Ambassadors dispatched for this confrence.

Hastily prepaired a group of ambassador left in their ship for the cooridnates provided by the Kazeci message.

A tranmission was brodcast to the Kazeci Government;

The Chronosian shuttle came to a rest at the end of a sloped runway, having traveled some distance beneath the surface. They were greeted by a man in Kazeci diplomatic robes. "Welcome to Kazecistan. Please, come with me." He lead them to a personal vehicle- a rare sight in Kazecistan- attached to the overhead tracks which normally supported public transit.

As they began to smoothly accelerate, he spoke again, "You're the Chronosian party, correct? Is there anything you would like to know about Kazecistan? Anything you would like to see? The event hasn't officially started yet, so you're somewhat free for the day. We can go to your rooms first if you wish?" The man was very accommodating. He didn't want them to feel imprisoned, despite the fact that he had to be with them at all times. The vehicle descended further into the city, passing down wide halls filled with people going about their lives.

No message was sent it return to the Korgarien empire, but upon arrival at the boarder they were greeted by a Kazeci military ship. They were welcomed and sent on their way. Upon arriving, they could either take one of their own shuttles down or use a Kazeci bullet transport. The latter was likely faster, and, depending on the pilot, much more of a rush. They would arrive and be greeted just as the Chronosian delegation was.

Our ship has the capablity for atmosphereic landing and matter transportation, but I would assume you would prefer to have one of your transports pick up the Korgarein Representative then have them just appearing or a 420meter ship landing.

A docking bay on the ventral section of the vessel opened to allow for the Kazeci transport to dock and pick up it's passengers.

We don't mind transporters, but do prefer shuttles. Landing is illegal here for any craft of your size. With that, the friendly voice was cut off. One of the shuttles had already made it to the ship.

As they stepped into the comfortable and open interior, they would find it somewhat luxurious for a transport of its size. dampening fields held them from being violently thrown about the interior, but still let them feel some of the Gs. Their pilot was in a mood for some playful acrobatics- which he carried out with stunning accuracy above the atmosphere.

Once they entered, though, it was all business as the ship dove at full speed, a fireball shooting towards the surface. They slowed somewhat at about 1,000 ft, but just enough so that one could see more than fire out the windows. Dangerous speeds took them rushing at the ground. Slowly he pulled up, but only to about -25*. Suddenly, the ground was at eye level. They were over a slanted runway that led to the city below. Every few feet their incredible speed was reduced forcefully but safely until they came to a stop at the end.

The bullet hovered and turned in place. The Korgarien delegation was escorted off and away from the transport before it shot back out of the hole in which it had landed. They were greeted by a man in Kazeci diplomatic robes. "Welcome to Kazecistan. Please, come with me." He lead them to a personal vehicle- a rare sight in Kazecistan- attached to the overhead tracks which normally supported public transit.

A small shuttle landed and Counciler Vaulm stepped out. He didn't bring any guards with him as a sign of trust between the Kielun and Kazecistan. His tall nine foot frame may have seemed opposing to some, but it was natural to his species. Also he meant these people no harm, on the contrary he wished only peace. He turned to the man who was greeting him.

"Greetings. I am Vaulm. I was woundering if you had any holy sites that which I could visit. I know it may sound strange but I am curious as to what religion the world is."

"It is strange to some," Their guide said, carefully choosing his words so as not to offend, "but we are a nation of atheists." He hurriedly added, "We live in a highly idealistic society, however, and our morals match up with those of most major religions. In fact, most of them would consider us a 'saved' people because we do 'good' in their eyes."

It mattered not if he had brought guards, for they would be welcomed into the festivities. Guards could not offend because no matter what happened, Kazecis out numbered all that were there. It was the delegates, in Kazeci eyes, who needed comforting.

Vaulm nodded as his guide told him of how the planet was athiest. He knew that not everyone could believe in the same thing and that some took comfort in a higher power and some did not. While the Holy Empire tried to spread the word of the Au'ja it also understood that compassion and understanding were needed to keep the galaxy in order.

"Very well. Where is the nearest area of festivities?"

"Ah, you shall fit in here well!" he exclaimed, knowing that Kazecis enjoyed nature a great deal. Their vehicle picked up speed and soon they arrived at one of the many public gardens. It seemed to be above ground, but one couldn't tell for certain. The sun shown brightly upon the garden. The focal point of it all was a large system of ponds that contained very friendly koi. The fish played in the waterfalls and streams as they crossed a bridge to a small island created by several of the ponds almost coming together. A small gazebo and two small trees resided there. A cat, which had followed them over the bridge, sat down in the grass by a rock and began to groom. Birds chirped. One could smell the freshness and listen to the water cascading down. “I just love it here.” He remarked.

"Uh, not sure. They used to be with the Republic, and Quaon's allying with the Republic. Besides, all this is really is a night of partying. I'm going to go get some wine, care to join me?"
"Can't you be proffensional for once in your life?! Your as bad as Jake!"

The Ambassador and his aids entered the room. One of the guards began to check the room for surveillance systems of any kind using advanced hand scanners. It wasn't that the Korgareins didn't trust the Kazeci people or the others attending the confrence, but more that they didn't fully trust anyone. Once the room was checked and cleared the guard noded to the Ambassador.

Remuv walked out on too the balcony of their condo. He was admirering the view and contemplating the many factors of this meeting. One of his guards followed the Ambassador out onto the balcony.

"Sir, if you do not mind me asking, what has you troubled?" asked the guard.

The Ambassador continued to look out acrossed the Kazeci city. "There are former friends and former enemies gathered here. Any time you gather such a group the meeting is bound to be tense. To say that grudges are forgivin is one thing but to actually forgive them is something entirerly different. We will see history made here no matter what the outcome."

The guard looked at him with an understanding look. "I see sir, I can understand where that could be problematic. What shall you do sir?"

Quickly turning to face the guard; Remuv had a slight smile on his face. "I will play the hand delt to me. Our purpose here is to realign our relationship with the Kazeci Government and to observe the others as much as we can."

A moment of silence went by before the ambassador spoke again. "But for now we shall rest. This proccess could go quickly or last for days or weeks; Either way it is best that we are rested and prepaired for it."

The Ambassador made his way back in to the room followed by his guard who shut the doors behind them. One of the guards stayed awake while the Ambassador went into his private bedroom to sleep. The other guard found a confortable spot on a plush couch to rest his eyes and await his shift.

The Prophet of Truth was fretting over how late he was. He was supposed to have been at the Kazeci planet at least 18 units ago. The Yautja had called for a meeting at Atkiathan. They had ventured from their home planet, Kuty’y’ae, to discuss the new world discovered in Yautja space. Ywa was a snow world that held little importance. However, with a few modifications to its atmosphere it would be habitable. The Prophet had ruled for the meeting to be re-convened at another time. He had more important matters to attend to.

Orna 'Fulsamee, the pilot of the Seraph, flew the ship into the atmosphere of the Kazeci planet, an audio message came over the intercom. It was the Kazeci traffic control.

“Please allow our construct to take control of your ship and bring it to the designated coordinates.”

A set of coordinates appeared on the holographic projector. Being a militaristic, competitive race the Sangheili naturally declined.

“I think not! If this is a challenge, I’ll let you be warned that my piloting skills are unmatched in all of Saldonia.”

“It was not intended as a-”

“Silence! I will hear no more. I will pilot the Seraph myself, thank you.”

When the Seraph arrived at the coordinates the ground began to open. A large tunnel was visible. The Seraph hovered for a moment above the tunnel, and then began its decent. It entered the underground Kazeci city a few moments later. A purple-blue glow shimmered through the chamber as the Seraph’s gravity lifts activated. The Prophet stepped onto the gravity lift accompanied by nine Honor Guards, and they slowly descended to the ground. The Honor Guards were not entirely there for protection. They were there to show off the Prophet's power, and power he had. At the ground he was greeted by Kazeci diplomatic representatives. He was assured the assembly would begin shortly, but first he yearned to have a taste of Kazeci culture.

Saldonia-
They were greeted by a man in Kazeci diplomatic robes. He was flanked by 8 high guard Kazecis, each with an intricately etched and engraved white-silver staff about 6ft tall at their side and in full dress uniform. "Welcome to Kazecistan. I am Sir William Lockhart, leader of the Kazeci people, Prophet of Mercy. Please, come with me." He lead them to a public transit car- which had been reserved for these purposes and had no other passengers- attached to the overhead tracks. There were plenty of seats, although the Kazecis preferred to stand and balance with the changing speeds for the fun of it. It had transparent sides through which the halls around them could be seen.

As they began to smoothly accelerate, he spoke again, "Is there anything you would like to know about Kazecistan? Anything you would like to see? The event hasn't officially started yet, so you're somewhat free for the day. We can go to your rooms first if you wish?" The man was very accommodating. He wanted them to feel welcome. "Yes, we most certainly can." They changed course and it wasn't long before they reached another terminal like the one that they had just landed in. As they loaded into the Bullet, he remarked, "It's been a while since I have had the chance to fly, this will be fun." He led them all into the cockpit, which was rather spacious, so that they might have a better view. They accelerated through the narrow tunnel with a surprising speed, slowing to a comfortable cruse once they had been air borne for a moment.

As he leveled them off, the banked the craft back towards the city. First they flew high, getting a view of the whole area. "Where would you like to go first?" He asked with an air of excitement in his voice. Who wouldn't be, with the shimmering tropical sea and islands in the East; snow capped mountains in the North; open plains extending through the mid section and along the shore; and deciduous forests in the South. Shy scrapers rose out of the ground about 1-2km apart in no particular geometric pattern. They stood tall and were painted to complement the environment, their gentile curves contrasting with their sheer angles.

"Sure." Came his reply as he brought the craft down. Now just above the tree line, they could tell how fast they were going. The near by ground blurred. The Sonajn shuttle came to a rest at the end of a sloped runway, having traveled some distance beneath the surface. They were greeted by a man in Kazeci diplomatic robes. "Welcome to Kazecistan. Please, come with me." He lead them to a personal vehicle- a rare sight in Kazecistan- attached to the overhead tracks which normally supported public transit.

As they began to smoothly accelerate, he spoke again, "You're the Sonajn party, correct? Is there anything you would like to know about Kazecistan? Anything you would like to see? The event hasn't officially started yet, so you're somewhat free for the day. We can go to your rooms first if you wish?" The man was very accommodating. He didn't want them to feel imprisoned, despite the fact that he had to be with them at all times. The vehicle descended further into the city, passing down wide halls filled with people going about their lives.

Sorry Kazec, I didn't notice your reply to my first post. I'll work it into this post.

Ic:
The Prophet of Truth was comfortably seated in his floating, highly ornamented chair. The chair emitted tiny ati-gravity pulses that kept it afloat. To foreigners it seemed rather rediculous, but to the Sangheili it was a symbol of the Prophet's religious importance and power. The Honor Guards, or "Mirritord" as they were known by some, were admiring the transparent walls of the vehicle and the sights of the Kazeci city. The Prophet then broke the silence by replying to the Kazeci diplomat.

"Yes, I would like to know everything there is to know and see everything there is to see. In the time allotted, of course."

"Very well."

One of the Mirritord spat out a comment that many of the Kazecis returned with vicious glares. He had been observing the people through the transparent walls and noticed a Kazeci cuddling with her pet cat.

"What in the name of the Gods is that atrocious beast, and what is it doing in the city?"

"Why, that is a cat, the most beloved animal in all of Kazecistan," one of the diplomats replyed through gritted teeth."

The Sangheili could sense everyones anger with him and decided to apologize for his rash behavior.

"I am truly sorry. I will keep my mandibles shut for the remainder of our time here and keep my foolish comments to myself."

There was a long pause. Suddenly, one of the Kazecis turned to the Prophet of Truth.

"Did you and the captain of your vessel recieve our message? You could have brought your ship to our planet, 'Truth and Reconciliation' I believe it was called."

"Correct. However, our ship had more important business to conduct. It left for Sullus to 'take care of' a Sharquoi rebel group... There was nothing you could have done to hasten our transition to your planet either. Our smaller craft cannot traverse the eleventh dimension and we would not have wanted to trouble you with the task of assisting us to your planet."

The Kazeci mearly shrugged and continued his attempts to balance with the changing speeds of the vehicle.

Ic: Sir William thought it best, then, to hide the cat that had followed them onto the vehicle- his cat. It had fallen asleep in a corner of the vehicle and he stood in front of it. "Yes, yes, we shall see much of it. Perhaps there is something of particular interest to you which you would like to see or hear about first? I can take us just about anywhere in the city in this."

IC:
The former Empress of the Abh Empire, her Highness Abriel Nei Dobrusk Ramaaj, had been sent on the diplomatic mission to Kazecistan. The Abh had been on the opposite side of the Republic wars fighting alongside her ally Neo Zeta.

When the message came through about possible new relations, an Abh cruiser was dispatched to Kazecistan space. A jump gate ripped through the fabric of space as the royal class cruiser glided out and came into orbit.

Ramaaj sat in her tall backed chair as the video feed came through. She relayed a message to the government of the planet. If the communicators were compatible, they would also receive the video up link-http://www.abhnation.com/components/com_mambospgm/spgm/gal/SNM-09/SNM-09-25.jpg.

The Abh Empire would like to formally extend a hand of friendship to the nation of Kazecistan. If you would so allow it, I can have a shuttle ready to deliver me to the planet side in a short order. I only request coordinates and escort to show me to the rest of the gathering.

He smiled at the response. "Hold on!"

The craft accelerated, heading for the mountains at high speed. Seconds later, when they had reached the range, he pulled up from their low path and bringing them into a vertical U turn. The ship, being fit for space travel, had artificial gravity which at 200% held them firm to the bottom of the craft, away from the planet's surface. He brought them into a roll for several seconds as the ship plummeted back toward the surface. Pulling out at the last possible second, they were upright again and just skimming the surface of the beautiful tropical sea. They headed toward a grouping of islands not far off.

"Fun?" He said as they began to slow back to normal speed, quite thrilled with the whole experience.

Sir William hesitated, carefully choosing his words. "We are not so much of a nation of atheists as indifferent agnostics. To summarize, we believe that the existence of a God cannot be proven, nor does such existence matter. If we do what is 'right' and there is a 'good' God, then we are 'saved'. If we do what is 'right' and there is no God, we are out nothing and have lived better lives for it. If there is an 'evil' God, then we want nothing of them and would rather at least be happy in this life. Our society is highly moralistic and idealistic, to the point that most 'good' religions accept our people as worthy of salvation." He paused for a moment allowing it to sink in before continuing.

"As for museums, we have extensive VR programs on the subjects. Unfortunately, we have nothing dating from before the late nuclear age. What we do know is that a war resulted in only the survival of our ancestors and they wished to purge the planet of all record of the past. After removing all traces of humanity from the surface, they retreated underground and worked to preserve the environment. This period is known as the Great Wipe."

The Ambassador awoke from a rather lengthy sleep. He used his NICCS to contact his guards without leaving the bed. They reported that all was well and nothing had happened except for the arival of new deligations from other nations. Getting out of bed he went to take a conforting shower, it would further relax him and prepair him for his day.

After his shower he found a confortable large and plush chair to set in and requested that one of the guards bring him the Intellegence reports he had requested from Korgarein Diplomatic HQ.

His guard entered the room and handed him a data pad. "Here you go sir. They just arrived this morning."

"Good.. Good!" The ambassador proclaimed. "It will be nice to see what we are dealing with. Being an older man, the Ambassador prefered to read his reports from a datapad as they did in his day. The NICC system is nice but when ever he could he prefered to read.

The report was lengthy and informative. It detailed dealings between the Republic, Korgarein, and the Kazeci Government. He could see that he had his work cut out for him, The Kazeci and the Korgarein differed much in certain beliefs. But then he thought to himself, "If the Chronosians could come here and seek peacefull relations, it was more then possible for him to do the same."

Looking up from his report; The ambassador noticed the guard was still standing near by. "My good man, send a request for Intellegence reports that the Federal Empire might have on all the nations that are sending Deligations to this confrence and have Nehogros(the other guard) start a report on the nations that are coming that we have yet to encounter."

Upon walking into the room, they no longer had bodies. One simply thought movement and could fly from very high or zoom to very close. Their first stop, indeed the 'home base' of this program, was a balcony high above the ground. it was large and its outer most edge curved gently back around the building. Large doors lead inside to the many smaller artworks. Over the balcony lead to the much larger. One could see for what seemed forever, the clear blue skies and sparkling oceans complementing the shear and crisp mountains and rolling forests. The ground was a dizzying distance below, but a perfectly safe leap away. Their minds had been tapped and their body's senses overridden by those input by the program.

His tastes were...odd to say the least, so he ordered something he recognized as fish, with a sauce, something he thought was fruit and what he thought was bubbly water. As it turns out, he was not very knowledgeable in Kazeci dishes, as he recieved a stake marinated in some Jello-like thing with a salad and a drink he could not at all figure out.

He brought it up for display. It had entries like “bulbous growth in dirt cut up and deep animal fat fried", "frozen bean flavored cream", and "large ovum of bird cracked open before impregnation and cooked to solidity after being thoroughly blended with fast moving blades"- referring to French fries, chocolate ice cream, and scrambled eggs, respectively. That portion of the menu was much of a joke to most Kazecis, while it often served a legitimate purpose for foreigners.

"It is. Come with me and I shall tour you about." And they did. First they came to ground level, looking up at where they had just come from. The building was huge. It contrasted organic forms with sharp angles- as if portions of the genital curves had been severed with a great blade. Tans and beiges covered large swatches of the building with the occasional line of olive green separating the two. Up again to a point above and away from the structure, where it commanded less aw and could be appreciated form an architectural standpoint.

A craft came through the air, a whole procession of them actually, and they were now moving along with them, able to examine up close or move off to appreciate their agility. Their smooth lines and curves were unblemished by the sheer contrasts that the building had- it was better for aerodynamics. Some were shiny, while others were black. Some military, others civil. Many varieties they were, each an object of grace and agility.

Back upon the patio. They moved through the large set of glass doors to the interior. The walls were covered in photographs with some deeply emotional meaning. Most portrayed some sort of sorrow and usually a lonely emptiness. Music of similar theme could be heard. After passing through the long hall that circled the interior of the building's upper floor, they entered into a large room, which turned to garden. The oriental themed bridges and arbors complemented the pond system that was central to the design. Grass grew on the ground and was interrupted by accent stones with many fine grey and black lines and jagged edges. The pond was inhabited by some 20 fish, all koi and 2-3' long. Birds chirped from hidden places and their song blended with that of the waterfalls. A cat slept under a small tree, happily content to lay in the sun for hours.

Though emotions were beyond any Abriel, Ramaaj still held a sense of amazement at the place. Obviously such sites could be in Lakfakallae as the Abh palace orbited the sun and only paintings made mere mention of these scenes. She was enjoying the tour immensly. She had almost forgotten recreation and enjoyment during her years as Empress and this was a much need reprieve.

Ic: "Yes, the hall was a tribute to a section of Kazeci art called 'sadism'*. We feel a need to remind ourselves of the wrongs and hopelessness of the universe from time to time in order to better understand our ideals. Our most popular art, however, is what you see now- our gardens." He led through a set of light sliding doors into a smaller room. It was the garden in miniature, with all of the plants in Bonsai. They didn't linger too long, as it wasn't as new as the rest had been.

Another door took them into one of the largest malls on the planet. It was a cavern, six stories tall and ringed with stores and restaurants connected by suspended walkways. A thick pillar of stores stood in the middle supporting the celling high above. The entire target shaped place was decorated with an ultra-modern façade. Upon entering into a fifth floor restraint, however, they seemed to be pulled back to ancient Asia. The whole ambiance brought about comfort and 'good chi'- not that Kazecis believed in this. Platters of well-arranged and fancily decorated food were carried past by waitresses and waiters, who seemed not to notice them just like the others who they were serving.

Hours could be spent in the virtual mall and but a few minutes would have passed. VR allowed the brain to experience so much in so little time.

ooc: *sadism as Kazecistan refers to it is pronounced as the word 'sad' is, not with a long 'a'. It is a depressionist view that at one point consumed the entire populous and is now just a casual art form. (not deriving sexual pleasure from pain)

The delegations were informed that brunch would take place at 10:30 and to bring wet athletic attire (which would be provided if necessary) then left to ready themselves. Transportation was provided to the city's government yacht club's dining area. It was a two story above ground facility- the upper being very formal. Windows without glass were framed by thin white curtains that fluttered in the breeze, despite being pulled to the side. The servers seated Kazecistan's guests and began to take orders for all kinds of breakfast foods. Kazecis ordered large portions of the comfort foods.

After all were seated and their orders taken, Sir William stood and welcomed everybody. "It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all here today. This gathering represents a huge step forward in our relations together. I propose a toast to the continuance of peace and prosperity between our great nations." Lifting his glass into the air, he drank. "But let us not be too burdened or rushed by the monumentus task before us. There is plenty of time to make history. Let me reveal our plans for the day. It is to be a relaxed day, enjoying time and luxury at our leisure. After this meal, it is Kazeci tradition to sail together. It's a rather popular pastime here, one which I myself enjoy, and so i feel it is appropriate that we share it together." He motioned out toward the waters. "The sea is in it's prime today." Ramaaj took it all in stride. She had never been sailing before nor had she even been near the ocean. She didn't let it phase her though as a plate was set infront of her and a glass of water was placed off to the side.

Her diplomatic garment was hardly anything for sailing as it was a dark blue dress that went down to her knees and two straps went over her shoulder and around her neck since the dress had virtually no back until it got a couple of inches abover her waist. Oh well. She would make do with what she had.

If you would like, I can arrange for something more suiting and a private place to change? If not, we can work something out with a larger boat, but I think you could enjoy the experience best having changed." He took another bite of egg, dipping it first in liquid chocolate, then in a pool of ketchup.

Sir William ate the same, but from a rolled chocolate pancake. The other Kazeci escorts all had variations of the same meal, though there were many other things on the menu. They made small talk as they enjoyed the scene.

All who wanted to, and it was recommended, were provided with short sleeve wet suits (which had a surprisingly comfortable fit) and harnesses. They were told to meat on the beach when they were ready.

Once they were all there Sir William said, "For those of you in harnesses, if you would head up the beach that way for about 50 ft.? Anyone else is invited to the end of the dock." He himself walked across the sparkling light grey sand towards where the beach cats were kept. Each of the properly outfitted delegations was assigned one depending on their size but about 19 ft. long. Slowly, the cats were rolled out into the water. Those on the dock were helped into a much larger boat on which they wouldn't be needed to do much.

The Korgarein Ambassador and his aid boarded the larger boat and looked around in order to study the design aspects of the kazeci craft. Little effort was involved in commanding the larger boat. Once it was rigged up, which it already was, the captian seemed to simply turn a wheel to change corse. Its tripple hulled design made it large and slow- a fact which was made up for by the increases range. Kazecis didn't really like this, however, as there was no phisiclal part in getting them going or controling them. It was too easy.

Ramaaj slipped into her suit and headed down to the beach. She followed instructions as was instructed and made her way to a designated boat. To be honest she felt like a fish out of water and she probably looked like it as well.

But she tied her long blue hair back and stepped onto the boat.

"Hold on a second, we need to get this thing in the water first. Can't sail on land!" And with her help he was able to drag it out into the shallows. After he rigged it up, a quick task, he helped her on and began to show her the basics of what she would need to know. "When we get going, we're going to need to hike out*- lean way away from the boat to balance it and keep us from tipping over. That's what your harness is for. Hook the loop at your waist to this chord." He pulled down a chord with a hook. It had an auto retract, so it pulled up and kept her from falling out. "When we turn, I'm going to need you to duck down and cross over to the other side. The tramp," he patted the fabric between the two hulls. "is stronger than it looks. It will hold both of us and a lot more. Now when you cross, you're going to need to grab this hook at the bottom of the jib sail- the smaller front sail, and re attach it to the other side. I'll do the rest. It's going to be fun! Relax!" He was obviously quite enthused. After pushing the two dagger boards down, he waited for the others to be ready.

As the Prophet of Truth stepped on to his "beach cat" he was already beginning to regret it. He hadn't done anything physical in at least 70 years. He was afraid. Afraid of humiliation. However, this was short lived as he had other, more important things on his mind. Besides, the anti-gravity shield projected around his body would protect him from getting wet. The Prophet did not like the water. It was in his Yautja blood. The hunters had learned long ago to avoid water, as it damaged their cloaking devices and ruined the Hunt.

The Sonaian delegation chose to travel on the larger boat, mainly because they had never travelled on water before. The rivers and lakes of their homeworld were very polluted and civilians didn't have access. As diplomats they could of course have gone there if they wanted to, but like most they stayed clear.

"It's very beautiful here", Jall said to the guide, and with utmost sincerity: Beauty was not treasured in Sonaj, only efficiency was.

Ramaaj cringed a little bit in embarrassment as she stepped off the boat. To her credit though, she did manage to do everything that was asked of her. Perhaps it was the centuries of living in space that made moving around like this easier but in any case she felt good to be able to do something like this without servants and such.

Though she was still a bit nervous.

The delegation from Quaon board the "beach cat."
"Reminds me of rural Quaon," Jake said.

The Autarch had taken his time and given careful consideration before deploying his messenger to meet the Kazecistan delegation at their little diplomatic conference. However some of the guidelines baffled The Autarch and his Varangian Guard. The restrictions on 'Capitol' vessels particularly, they had no concept of any such ship classification. It was decided that Fleet Control Group I would escort the Messenger Othello and his Guard.

The sixteen ships of FCG-I could probably all be considered in or near the 'capitol' ship size , but such categorizations were for the aliens, something The Navigators did not concern themselves with. The ships performed a hyperspace jump to just outside the borders of Kazecistani controled space and then proceeded cautiously towards the conference.

The Commonwealth FCG-I was prepared for any eventuality, they had not yet decided to trust these aliens.

ooc: I'm not at home, so this is a short post. I'll have a longer one in a day or two.

Ic: A runner came from within the yacht club and approached Sir William. "A fleet greater than the limitations has entered our space and is requesting to join the conference."
Lockhart whispered back, slightly annoyed- not at the runner, but at the new delegation. "Let them come, give a heavy but respectful escort. Keep them busy till dinner, when they can join with out too much trouble."
"Yes sir." He ducked out and trotted back inside.

Space-

A group of 6 Dreadnought class Super Cruisers and 4 Heavy Battle Carriers greeted them and escorted them to the planet.

Othello, Messenger of The Autarch stood and watched as the escort approached. The Varangian Guard Commander of FCG-I nodded "A rather large escort."

Othello's voice buzzed from the speakers at his throat "Fitting.................for servants of The Autarch. An escort that is.............not too large as to outnumber us, but large enough.......................to speak of our importance."

The Varangian shrugged, he didn't quite read it that way, but if Othello was pleased with the escort, it wasn't his place to interfere.

"Follow our escort, keep a respectful distance." The Varangian informed the pilot.

ooc: Back from vacation, let's get this thread up again!

Ic: As the last of the delegates boarded boats, the group set off. Their timing was good as the light breeze seemed to pick up a bit of strength, not too much, but just enough to make racing fun. The trimeran set out on a course that would take it to just north of a cluster of Caribbean Islands not far from the mainland. The smaller cats, however, seemed to play about it on their path.

(ABH) Ramaaj's guide began to show her the ropes, literally, as they went off casually across the wind. "See how the far edge of the sail is luffing just a bit in the wind? If I pull it in a bit more, we'll begin to pick up speed. That's where the fun comes in. There's two jobs your position has on this boat, both simple: the first is 'hiking out', and the second is sheeting the Jib sail. As you see me pull in or let out the main sheet- this rope here- do the same with the jib sheet- that one there- until it feels right- you'll know. Then there's hiking out. You put your feet on the side like this," he squatted on the very edge of the boat, his harness clipped to the safety line. "then push out over the water." He slowly extended his legs until he was practically laying on his back, suspended over the water. "The extra weight out here keeps the boat from tipping and it's really fun to do!" He brought himself back in and the boat leaned again to leeward.

(Quaon) Jake received much the same from his guide, as did all those who rode the beach cats.

ooc: Bolded names and words like 'all' tell who each part is addressing here.

ooc: A man stood over a grave in the black of night.
"Bloody Mary" He wispered. Nothing happened. He said it again, this time slightly louder. "Bloody Mary" Nothing. He shouted it. "Bloody Mary!"

The thread rose from the grave! It had unfinished business.
