Raith jumped off of his plane that had just landed in Starenell. He walked up to the Palace and asked the door keeper for entry. Then introduced himself as Costraith Develan to an official looking man standing at the top of some stairs.

Princess Jhessail ran down those very stairs, she wore a T-Shirt and jeans. She looked at the man before her "You are Raith?"

"I am in fact" he replied "And what, oh fair and radient maiden, is your name?"

"As you should know, Jhessail." She smiled.

"I apologise for not recognising you. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me?"

"Maybe?' She gave a devilish grin. "Where now?"

"It's your palace." Raith face reddened as he realised he had violated Tace Clamorian customs. He paused to collect himself and continued. "perhaps we could go to the riding field?"

"Sure, come on" Jhessail lead the way.
OOC: What customs?

Raith bowed, thanked and followed her.

OOC: They are just really formal etc so it will take him a while to unbend / learn your court's rules

They got to the stables "Choose a horse" she said.
OOC: Okay. She is informal but some others are.

Raith walked over to a strong looking brown gelding with white socks and a white spot on its forehead. "What's this horses name?"

"Damota" She mounted a different horse.

"Thats a nice name" he murmured as he vaulted on "Whats it mean?"

"Wind-Rider. So where would you like to go?"

"Perhaps we could ride around in the countryside? I would llike to get a feel for this land."

"Sure"

They rode along for a while into the forest. At this point Raith's horse encountered a snake, bucked him off and ran deeper into the forest.

"Come on, get on my horse. We will find Damota, he cannot have gone far." She made space for him on the horse.

Taking a few deep breaths he nodded his appreciation. He vaulted up next to her. "Is there enything you would like to know about me?" he asked, clearly more comfortable outside of the palace.

"If it is okay, how did you get your scars?" she asked.

"The scar under my eye is from when there was an attempt on my fathers life. One of the the shots almost hit me. The scar on my body is from my brother. He was angry and drunk. He stormed into my room and attacked me with a knife. I couldnt hold him off because I was only reading. He cut me. My father's guards heard the fight and broke into my room. They tried to subdue him peacefully but he forced them to kill him. I miss him. But he wont be back." He wiped his eyes and turned to her "Is it wrong for me to still love my brother even after what he did to me?"

"Of course not. As you said, he was angry and drunk. And he was your brother. I would still love Tancred(Her brother) even if he tried to kill me. I would not love the Tancred that tried to kill me but I would love the one I grew up with." she smiled

"Thank you for the kind sentiments" he turned to her and smiled. "I think I see Damota over there."

"Then we should go" She nudged the horse to greater speed and got around 100 ft away from Damota. "I think we should go on foot now." She dimounted.

Raith dismounted as well and followed her towards Damota.

Jhessail cooed softly to Damota. "Come on. It is okay. Come on"

Raith smiled a small smile and pulled out a slightly battered apple and offered it to Damota

Damota grabbed the apple, and moved over towards the Raith. "Get on" Said Jhessail.
