Kahanistan was still recovering from its long history of warfare. Now, it had fought a devastating war on its own soil, which would likely have been much worse if the Kahanistan President had not surrendered to the Freeks and the Freeks and the Kraven Corporation, a long-time enemy of the Democratic Soviet Republic of Kahanistan, were fighting each other now.

The Government of Kahanistan appeared on paper to have an excellent economy and a thriving arms industry, but these papers had been written before the war broke out. Kahanistan still spent roughly a third of its budget on defense, but its budget overall was not what it used to be, the war having wrecked the economy of the nation.

Therefore, the Government of Kahanistan had several objectives to rebuilding.

Phase 1: Rebuild damaged cities and other infrastructure.
Phase 2: Rebuild the military.
Phase 3: Build two to four new cities.
Phase 5: Complete the Dreadnaught Project.

To that end, Kahanistan offered an unprecedentedly huge defense contract, as the cities were largely already under construction with Novan aid. The Government published a list to the international community outlining the huge defense contract it offered to the world, (except for, of course, Consortium and other nations that abused human rights.)

I placed an order following the link to Israeli Arms (I use a rather eclectic arsenal of weapons, Israeli Galil rifles and Merkava tanks, Iranian Shahab and North Korean Taepodong missiles, Pakistani Shaheen missiles, Russian MiG's, US and Japanese warships and US Paladin artillery...) but I was told the guy running the Israeli Arms storefront had quit...

Sucks, most storefronts don't have exotic or unusual weaponry.

OOC: Sorry to burst your bubble, but like me, you'll learn the hard way that generic (i.e. Real World) equipment is not very effective against NS weapons once you get into the big leagues. The average NationStates MBT can kick the shit out of an M1 or Merkava in a one on one fight.

20 Yamato-class battleships

Greetings General Kasagawa.

The Navy of the Holy Empire of Xirnium understands that you are looking for subcontractors in order to procure 20 Yamato-class battleships to rebuild you Navy. Holy Xirnium also uses such battleships along with the Iowa-class as part of its main battleship fleet, however we have a different business deal to offer you.

At the moment, Holy Xirnium is adding a new, more powerful, battleship to its navy that would far surpass that of the Yamato or Iowa. It is a modernised version of the WWII H44 (http://www.german-navy.de/kriegsmarine/zplan/battleships/schlachtschiffh/index.html)-class battleship, and will become our most powerful warship class when completed.

Given that we are gearing our industry to rapid production of these monstrous warships, Holy Xirnium would like to offer to build a minimum of 20 of these vessels in the place of the Yamato warships you requested. The total cost of this would be only 36 billion USD. This would do wonders for Holy Xirnium’s economy, funding our H44 (X) program, and fulfil one of your requests. Therefore, both of our nations would gain handsomely.

If you agree, we should be able to complete all 20 H44 (E) warships in a period of six years, and the first after two.

H44-Class Heavy Battleship

Displacement: 141,500 tons

Background:
The six battleship designs of the H-class were the projected successors of the German battleships Bismarck and Tirpitz in WWII. Were they to have been built, the last designs would have far surpassed the Yamato battleship, the largest battleship ever to sail, or the projected US Montana-class battleship.

The H44 design was the final result of the designs for a battleship which started with the H39. It was vastly enlarged in size, armor protection, armament and engines over the initial H39 and certainly over the Bismarck. The whole purpose of the H44 design study was to see how a battleship could be designed to be protected against all known threats, and it is therefore fitting that it has been chosen to be the most powerful battleship in the Xirniumite Navy, the pride and flagship of our fleets.

The H44 (X) is the newest Xirniumite refit of this awesome battleship in order to make it fully capable of fighting in the modern world, and includes the addition of all the latest and most technologically advanced battle systems.

Yep, haven't forgotten, and it does easily dwarf the H44. To be honest I never really considered it an SD. It also seems to me like the typical Yallakian weapon, imposing and excessively dangerous (without being silly like some SDs out there). As I recall you gave me only one right?

To be honest I personally find them ridiculous. And they are also sometimes symptomatic of tech wanking. In and of themselves there probably isn't anything wrong with them, but too often they are used to tech wank.

Well, what do you expect, NS is frozen in time tactic-wise and military-wise. Most NS versions of aircraft, warships and armor are basically super-hyped-up versions of American and Russian techonology.

And as for your nuclear anti-SD shell's drawback: there are storefronts that sell anti-SD projectiles that don't use nuclear warheads. I agree. That’s why I don't call mine SD's. Though the size of an SD, they have no runways, PMT crap or other ridiculous techwank. Just big guns and lots of missiles – all MT.

For now ive only given you one Karak and one Khorland class battleships, plus all the cruisers, destroyers and frigates, but I will give you more as I allow time for them to be constructed.
