I need my Star Trek fix every week and I'm going to be doing Driver's Ed part 2 (Heh, I like that) soon so I might miss a bunch next Week. God forbid.

Anyway, I want to start a Star Trek RP here on NS. It'll be after Star Trek: Nemisis. Riker and Diana are married (We can do the wedding if you guys want to) and Riker is now a Captain. LaForge, I believe, is the First Officer of the Enterprise (Because Data died) and is off somewhere, still with Picard as the Captain.

The place will be on a new ship, a new Prometheus-class cruiser called the USS Yamato (NCC-71807-F), the second one in its class. The original Yamato was also the Enterpise's sister ship. We'll need the Bridge positions filled (Including Captain), a chief Med officer, and Head Engineer. Try to make your character unique, but don't make them all half-humans and aliens. Try to use humans with defined personalities.

You can have a maximum of 3 charcters, but try to limit yourself. Riker and Diana will be NPCs, but try to avoid using them too much and let me handle them.

Bios-

Name:
Age:
Rank:
Species:
Position:
Other:
---
My characters-

Name: Utris M'Toc/Benjamin Mann
Age: 36
Rank: Lieutanant
Species: Human
Position: Chief of Security/Tactical
Other: Utris is a human, but was raised by Klingon parents. He has an honorary rank in the Klingon Empire (Lieutanant) and is loyal to his adoptive people's rituals and ways of life. He is a large man and has a strong sense of honor, but a deeper sense of justice. Because he was human, he was constantly attacked by Klingons of the same age, so he does not have the love of fighting that his Klingon people have.

Name: Joshua Parsecs
Age: 23
Rank: Ensign
Species: Human
Position: N/A
Other: Stranded on a planet inhabited by a species at the 22nd-century Earth level with an understanding that there are other, more advanced races out there and have long-range communication abilities, but use them very little and only contact the Ferengyi and a few other independant races. Was stranded on the planet after he was captured when his ship was destroyed from a series of mechanical failures. Over the years, he fell in love with his Romulan partner and daughter of a Romulan Commander, Nuhir.

Name: Nuhir Annwhi
Age: 23
Rank: Sublieutanant
Species: Romulan
Position: N/A
Other: The daughter of a powerful Romulan Commander, she was marooned on the same planet as Joshua after her shuttle crashed. She has made many attempts to contact her father, but each time has failed. Joshua took care of her as she recovered her injuries from her crash. Her father is begging the Romulan Provisional Senate (Set up quickly after the original senate was assasinated) to search for her, but since the planet is in Federation space, he can do nothing and he does not have permission to contact Starfleet for help. Nuhir is strong-willed and bullheaded, but has a kind streak. Nuhir eentually fell in love with Nuhir.
----
The first mission for the Thebes will be to investigate the planet that Josh and Nuhir are stranded on. A ferengyi tipped the Federation off that the Vulcanoid natives were developing Warp drive and would have it running in a month, but needed help with it. Starfleet reviewed the native's progress and feels that their previous contact with the Ferengyi, Romulans, and Bajorins and their technological advancement was far ahead enough to allow them to contact and help with the problem.

Vulcanoids are called: Wasijans

Riker took command of the Titan but not sure what class of vessel though. You might want to say that this is after Nemisis considering that if it was actually Star Trek: Nemisis Data would still be there and they would be headed for Romulus.

I did say it was after Nemisis. Oh, wait. Damn typos.

I can look up what type of vessel it was.
USS Titan
Prometheus Class (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Prometheus_class)

It turns out that using Riker would be a bad idea anyways since there are books on the subject. So I believe we should come up with a new crew in that case, so the Captain position is open. I'll come up with a name.

I am a trekkie but I'm not that big of fan of the Federation itself so I will not be joining this RP. I just happened to know the name so i shared. Good luck with it though... i might keep an eye on it anyway.

Heh, I'm still stuck on Episode III... >_< . But now that you mention it, I do suddenly want to get my ST fix... ~_~ .

EDIT: Let's just forget I typed that...

>:-)
I'm going to remember that.

Anyway, teh storyline is now based around the rebuilt Yamato, which has been upgraded to a Prometheus-class starship. The original Yamato was a Galaxy-class Starship, also the Enterprise's sister ship, and was destroyed. The new ship is the precursor to a new wave of powerful Federation ships and the second of its class.

Anyway, the new captain has just arrived and it has a small bridge crew. It comes across an uncharted planet containing a new Vulcanoid species when a Ferengi vessel tells them of its exsistance. The species are very close to a breakthrough with Warp Drive and are eager to rejoin their Vulcan and Romulan cousins, but they are desperate for help in this last breakthrough for their Warp capability. The Djin-Ku, as they call themselves, have been speaking with the Ferengi and dealing with them for some yeras and have made contact with teh Romulans. The Romulans seek to extend their borders to include the Djin-Ku, as they have expressed their desires to join eitehr teh Federation or the Romulan Empire. The Yamato gets orders to make contact with the Djin-Ku leaders to discuss their future when they note that their breakthrough was successful. Something happens, though, and the Away Team is landed a bit away from the city and meet two of my characters.

That will be the first storyline.

Here are the positions still opened.
Captain
First Officer
Ops
Navigation
Medical Officer
Chief Engineer
Counselor

Utris M'Toc, the Klingon-raised Lieutanant, is Tactics and Chief of Security. He prefers to be called Utris, but call him Benjamin as a slip-up for those who first meet him.

A good semi-villain would be Nuhir's father. That could have been phrased better.

i like this idea being a trekker myself.

must get my ST fix..... :)

i've always prefered the klingons to the feds but i could rp a federation officer.

Name: Gareth O'Howe
Age: 25
Rank: ensign
Species: human male
Position: Navigation
Other: Gareth has a keen interest in bladed weapons and sometimes scares people with the size of the collection he's built up. they range from copies of Klingon Bat'leths or a 300 years old Japanese Katana.

they're normally on display on a wall of his quarters.

he had short brown hair, green eyes and the more neutral accent of an Irishman from the north of the country.

By the way, at one point I plan for Joshua to be at Ops, so if you pick that position don't expect to keep it, unless whoever RPs the captain says otherwise.

I'm interested in rping with my Light Side nation. It's the more Federation style fleet.

Huntar is my SW style fleet (though I'm starting to intergrade Federation Tech with it).

Will put up characters in Pupet nation soon.

Side note:
Knowing your a Trekkie too GS, you might be interested in ehlping me with my ST section with the pricing in the naval store front. I have a vauge idea on what they cost.
Huntarian Alliance
11-12-2005, 05:21
Question before I put up my characters:

Do they need to be directly federation?

Or could they be a sort of exchange officers with Huntarian Alliance and the Feddies? Also, can I use the Alliance's fleet uniform to distinguish my characters as an exchange officer (should you go with the idea)?

Huh? This is based in the ST universe, not NS. Unless I'm missing something.

Fine then. I'm thinking of something like this:

Characters:

Name: George Herman
Rank: Captain
Age: 50
Postion: Captain (if you allow GS, I would like to get more Experience with command abilities for the Huntarian Civil War.)
Specie: Human

History:
Captain Herman was renown in the Academy for his humor in his youth, often pulling pranks on fellow cadets. But when leadership called, he was ready and able. He He just barely passed in the top 20 in his graduating class, and has a good grasp in security, engineering, and some medical.

---------
In his later years he served onboard several starships, a total of 4 due to the Dominion wars (in order:Galaxy class, Nebula, New Orleans, Denmark)

Now with the wars at an end, he seeks to command a new starship, hopefully a Prometheus Class. He's ambitious, just as he was in his youth but still considers the consequences and moralities of his actions. He's currently in a semi-retirement unless duty calls.

Most of his family was killed in the borg attacks, and in the dominion wars. His only remaining "family" is the Klingon, Gorn.

Name: Gorn (last name is unknown)
Age: 46
Rank: Lieutenant
Position: N/A
specie: Klingon

History:
He serves with Captain Herman as one of Herman's most trusted friends, and remaining family. He served with Herman throughout the Dominion wars. He is more conserned with things like, honor and loyalty rather than rules and regulations.

Of course. We need that position filled.

As for Gorn, he can be at Ops until Joshua takes the spot.

Places left:

Navigation
Medical
Counselor
First Officer

Or, I can switch Grorn to be First Officer, and Joshua can just simply have Ops. Either works for me. (and I assume that Herman is captain)

Gron would have to be a Commander in rank.
Huntaer
11-12-2005, 06:33
Gron would have to be a Commander in rank.

Or a Lieutenant Commander (we could open it with the promotion of Gorn, and the introduction of the Captain). In the first Voy. episode, before Voyager was thrown across the galaxy, Janeway's first off. was a Lt. Cmndr.

Either way, I could just as easil change his rank.

11-12-2005, 06:38
Name: Erlissan "Griss" U'Naki
Age: 32
Rank: Commander
Species: Human
Position: Chief Engineer
Other: Commander U'Naki, who insists that everyone call him "Griss" as he has no patience for most forms of protocol, is by far one of the most mysterious members of the crew. His personality is so surly, he's been referred to as "a tad hostile" by Klingons, and his file of reprimands is several miles long. To those who don't know him well, he seems to have stumbled onto the rank of Commander either by accident or by bureaucratic oversight, but his subordinates regard him with a sort of fear-tinged awe, as he has a reputation for being able to fix absolutely anything with spit, gum, and baling wire. His ingenuity has resulted in several truly amazing feats of mechanics and engineering that ensured his promotion time and time again, and while most of his superiors don't really like working with him, most of them feel a lot safer knowing he's looking after their warp core.

Griss was born on a small, independent space colony that scraped a living taking contracts from the Federation and the Klingon Empire for scrap and salvage. He spent the earliest years of his life crawling through claustrophobically tight spaces in alien ships to retrieve components, and through this lifestyle, quickly gained a comprehension of engineering, mechanics, and physics that borders on instinct. He heard of Starfleet Academy from a visiting Federation Official who was highly impressed with his work, and only his high number of demerits for violent conduct prevented him from graduating with honors.

It is a Prometheus-class ship, teh most powerful in Starfleet, so I think a Commander would be best, but Lt. Commander would siffice.

Yeah. You might want to tone Griss's attitude down a bit more, that'll get him in trouble.

Yeah. You might want to tone Griss's attitude down a bit more, that'll get him in trouble.

He's already gotten in trouble. He's in trouble nearly all the time. If he hadn't saved half a dozen ships by the skin of his teeth, they'd probably kick him out, but he has this frustrating habit of being absolutely impossible to live with or deal with, then pulling a miraculous save out of his ass when hope seems lost.

In terms of the swearing, he once tried to make the argument that since everyone on his colony talks like that, it's technically a dialect, but he was told by an unamused superior that if that was the case, he was required to speak Federation Trade Common for the purposes of his position, and leave his own dialect for off-hours. Since he caved in on the subject of peircings, and he feels that constitutes "meeting half-way", they've been at something of an impasse on that. He's settling for toning it down around his superiors, if not speaking at all can be termed as 'toning it down'. Mostly, anyone who outranks him, he speaks to as little as possible, and most of his team's just sort of... gotten used to him. Or appointed Satsuma a Official Delegate to the Hostile Nation of Griss's Office.
