New Atlantis – Last night the Kenerian government confirmed reports that its military had completed testing of a new pocket Battlecruiser. Senator Triston Blake, Chairman of the Senate’s Military Oversight Committee and Harrison Covington, Supreme Commander of Kenerian forces, confirmed that the military will begin production on the new Scorpion Class Battlecruisers early next fall.
“The Scorpion class Battlecruiser is slightly over 200 meters in length, has a crew of only six, but boasts firepower equal to two Hercules class Battleships” the Supreme Commander informed the capitol press crew.
Specs released to the press last night included general armament and defensive capabilities. The Scorpion Class Battlecruisers will be armed with a miniaturized version of the multi-phasic omni-directional neutrino cannon. The Supreme Commander stated that recent breakthroughs in weapons technology output and miniaturization assisted in the development of the new Battlecruisers. Additional armaments include torpedo launchers for the newly improved combination matter/anti-matter plasma torpedo, and the previously controversial Quantum Singularity Launcher. The Supreme Commander assured the press that the military has addressed past problems surrounding the QSLs, and that the military has been able to successfully program these singularities to either engulf their target or detonate on impact. Specifics on how the singularity is made, maintained and controlled was labeled Ultra Top Secret and therefore not disclosed.
Scorpion class Battlecruisers will also be equipped with Dimension Destabilization Emitters, which interfere with multi-dimensional drives, forcing the target to slide back to its dimension of origin.
According to the specs offered by the military, hull armor will consist of standard Neutronium hull plating, and shielding will consist of the Temporal Gravidic Field, also standard for Kenerian military vessels.
Speed of the Scorpion class was classified, but the Supreme Commander hinted that it would be one of the fastest ships in the fleet. Further details were unavailable.

We find this hilarious. I hope to hell you know what neutronium is. Also, we suspect your leader of having severe mental deficiencies. Seriously, though. We recommend taking some anti-insanity medicine from time to time. It might honestly help you.

I fully agree with Hyperspatial Travel . What you just announced is simply impossible . Its unthinkable of and the theory doesn't even fit together .

interesting... that is exactly what they said about sailing around the world, manned flight and space travel. Expand your mind.

OOC: 'Neutronium' exists only in science fiction, as does this 'multi-phasic omni-directional neutrino cannon', so unless your Future Tech, then you can consider yourself a laughing stock.

PS: Oh, and a crew of six for a 200 meter battlecruiser? FT or MT that is VERY laughable.

You know what, this joke would take way to much effort, I'm a little sleepy.

Ok, ok. Get me a PICTURE of this neutronium armour. Then I'll believe it.

sure.... as soon as you get me a picture of your sentient AI.. I'm surprised that as a FT nation you've never heard of neutronium.... pretty simple.. it's mined from the core of neutron stars, refined and processed so that its density remains, but is stable outside the stellar envorinment...

expand your imagination for a second. Manned flight got a lot of laughs and giggles too...

Heh. You miss the point once again. Good job. You DO know how incredibly dense neutronium is, right. And the whole "everyone who's inside is crushed to a pulp" factor. Manned flight was laughed at by a lot of people, yes, but we've seen manned flight in real life.

Due to its small size and high density, a neutron star possesses a very high rotation speed, as one revolution can take anything from one seven-hundredth of a second to thirty seconds and a surface gravity 2×1011 to 3×1012 times stronger than that of Earth. One of the measures for the gravity is the escape velocity, the velocity needed for an object to escape from the gravitational field to infinite distance. For a neutron star, such velocities are typically 150,000 km/s, about 1/2 of the velocity of light. Conversely, an object falling onto the surface of a neutron star would strike the star also at 150,000 km/s. To put this in perspective, if an average human were to encounter a neutron star, he or she would impact with roughly the energy yield of a 100 megaton nuclear explosion (a power equivalent to twice the tsar bomba, the biggest nuclear weapon ever built).

Pure neutronium is probably a little less dense than a black hole. Such a ship would bend light towards it. Maintaining such armour, if you used some mumbo-jumbo to say you could do it, would be wankery on an immense scale. Not just wankery, either. Like some kind of new wankery. We could probably name it after you, if you wanted.

I'm going to assume all 200 metres of length is spent on sheilding for a tiny piece of neutronium and the weapons are tacked on or painted on and the 6 people are also drawn on.

...wouldn't the paint collapse under the pressure. Oh, wait. I see your plan, Leaf! It's neutronium paint! Genius!

Ah, the wonders of neutronium.

something our wonderful collection of N00bs always seems to forget is that neutronium is named as such for a reason.

Neutronium is what makes up the core of a neutron star, as we've all been told, and is uber-teh-densezors. Now, I would also like to point out that it is created when a mass of electrons are forced into the cores of their respective atoms by the force of an imploding star. This means that neutronium is made of neutrons.

Neutrons have absolutley no charge. This means they do not bond to eachother, and are only kept within atoms due to the Strong nuclear force and gravity. If you build a plate of neutronium thick enough to keep the wads of neutronium stable, chances are you've got a semi-smooshed ball of goo that was once crewmen.

I'de also like the point out that neutronium would be almost shit useless as armor anyway, seeing as that it doesn't bon to other neutrons, that projectile weapons would effectivly pass through the armor as through a really thick toothpaste, and energy weapons would send chunks of your armor careening out of control and slamming into your own ship.

Neutronium = PWND.

I still can't believe that some sci-fi shows, books, or whatever even think that neutronium would work as armor.
