OOC: A revolutionary new RP concept, inquire inside

Ok, here's the scoop.

I am currently working on a new kind of RP that has never been seen before in NS. Here is the basic plot behind the RP:

Silvia, the daughter of Damien Dreadfire has been kidnapped while her father sails off to war. She could be anywhere in the world, and those who will be allowed to participate will have to search through my old RP's for clues as to where to look next.

That's right, each player will assume the role of a character, be it a secret agent, spec ops, or a private eye on the job. Silvia will leave subtle hints as to which post will contain a location, and from there the player will guide their character in search of her. Each new location will hold some other clue that will lead to another location, and eventually they will find the kidnapper(s).

Now, it could be any RP I've done in International Incidents, and when I say 'RP' I mean actual stories, no OOC threads, factbooks, inventions, none of that. Simply go to the 'Search' function and type 'Automagfreek' under author, of course it may be a thread from years ago and you may have to change the 'Find posts from' pulldown to see older threads.

Those who are interested will be allowed to participate based on availability to make posts and RP ability. This kind of thread has never been done before, and I want only those who I feel will be able to do it right, but please don't be offended if you're not chosen.

Another important thing will be that I may have to take some liberties with your characters or possibly even RP them briefly. Those who participate should be aware of this and trust that I'll be responsible with their characters, but some situations may require me to 'take charge' in order to keep things flowing. Once a character arrives at a new location I will make a detailed post describing the location, and from there the character can poke around for clues and I'll chime in from time to time.

Players should not share any ideas or theories they may have, as it is sort of a race to see who finds her first. All participants will be allowed to make posts without fear of being 'left behind' or 'unable to keep up'. Though it is a race, the game will have a set pace. Things will get more complex as the story progresses, and hints may be vague and take you in the wrong direction. Too many wrong turns and you may never get back on the right path.

So, how would be interested in giving something like this a try? Like I've said this has never been done before, but should be fun to do.

Eh, I'll give it a go. So long as I can choose what type character I play as.

Honestly sounds awesome 'Where in the world is Car--err--Slyvia' ^_^

I do actually regret I dont have the time this holiday season to get involved, but in all seriousness, best of luck.

Awesome Idea AMF. I would love to be involved.

Rather clever idea; should be rather interesting, and I couldn't resist the chance for a character roleplay - something I do very little of - and so, thus I am here.

Likewise top rate idea, I'm interested.

Love the idea, have the time, but not too experienced. Would give it my best if you choose to accept me.

So the clues will be found in threads you've created, and in posts by you in those threads, correct?
Also, is there a reward to motivate the character searching for Silvia?

I've got the time, I've got the interest, I've got the will. I'd love to be involved.

Correct. I'll leave hints so that you have an idea of where to look.

Those who have paid attention to my RP's will fare much better than someone who hasn't.

Also, is there a reward to motivate the character searching for Silvia?

Yes, though I haven't decided. Obviously a large sum of money will be one of several motivating factors for the character.

Two questions, thanks.

How many people are you looking for?
When do you plan on starting it?

Is this your first thread, or have there been others before it?

If there have, how do you access them as my search function stops at a hundred entries and I don't know how/if it can be extended past a hundred.

I'd like to get involved if possible. I may loose the thread from time to time due that my Subscribe thingy doesn't always work (for some very odd reason), that or it simply won't give me to option of subscribing.

But if you don't mind that, I would like to get involved.

Replace the URL on your browser with this:

http://forums.jolt.co.uk/subscription.php?do=addsubscription&t=457894

and it will bring you to the page that asks what kind of notification you want and then you simply click add to add the subscription.

No, I've got threads in I.I. dating back to September of 2003, you just have to know how to play with the Search function. ;)

But for the sake of simplicity, no thread before January 2004 will be used.

Then I think I need coaching on how to tweak the search function as the earliest thread I can find is dated at 08-12-2004 as time of creation.

Good idea, but not revolutionary... Evolutionary off an old concept, though demoness was really before your time...

I would join, if AMF thinks I'm good enough for it.
