OOC: Most orders are confirmed; however, the order for 150 Archon class SDs will not be. That's just going too far...

I'm very sorry about the delays. I started a new job last month and I've been dealing with family medical dramas so I haven't had nearly as much time for NS as I would like to have.

The other orders are confirmed and are considered worked on as of one RL hour after the order was made. Thus, the only orders that would be outstanding would be The PeoplesFreedom's and Bazalonia's latest (though that will be finished in three NS years (3 RL days) from the time this message posts.

Dear Sirs,
Although you were probably not aware of it, The Armed Republic of Mer des Ennuis has been conducting naval hearings to upgrade its fleet. The Nation of Southeast Asia presented several of your designs, many of which have been chosen. However, we must express concern that we are unable to find information on the Endeavour in your catalogue, though Southeastasia provided detailed information. If you could, please point us to the page about the Endeavour. With that being said, here is our order:

Ship-----Number-----Cost Per-----Cost Total
Relentless Class SSGN-----30-----$3,750,000,000-----$112,500,000,000.00
Endeavour Class Large Combat Transport Ship-----40-----$2,500,000,000-----$100,000,000,000.00

This comes to a total of $212,500,000,000.00. Thank you.

Sarz, I know this is superdreads, but I thought I might as well buy them now, rather than wait forever. I'm going to keep this one short, as you've been busy lately. I'm going to buy 5 of the new SD's later, when you've added them to your cataloge.

Total Cost:1.76 Trillion

Funds will be wired upon confirmation.

(OOC: I was considering doing a long post like my one on the previous page, buh I thought against it. If you want to know how I can financially justify this, just ask me for a TG. [OOC: I'm writing all the blurb as you're about the only person who I buy things from who has a rough idea of my naval strategy, and I thought it might be nice if I kept you *in the loop*, if you like, on what I'm doing.

To cut a long story short, whereas before I wanted to aquire multiple bluewater combat fleets, as a massive force projection element, I'm not switching that to two Taskforces (One reserve force, one for actual force projection), and a Large escort force for commercial shipping.... the reasons for this are pretty wide in breadth, but to keep it short, it allows me to accurately explain IC-ly where I've got a core of battle hardened commanders from, while also giving me a good solution to the upcoming war I will no doubt be fighting in with a bunch of commercial nations...

....anyway, to the order]

To: Commodore Jamie Wilson (ISN-Ret.)
Acting Managing Director, Portland Iron Works
From: James TrickerHead of Navies, Northford
Subject: Escort craft, and a change in scenery for the NNS

Greetings friend!

It seems to have been a long time since I last wrote a letter to yourselves at the PIW, placing an order. To long, some would say! How goes things?

While we have not been talking, many things have happened in the Northfordian Naval Service.... many great, great things. Things which, if the world follows our plans, will greatly enhance the relationship between the Portland Iron Works, and ourselves.

While I cannot go into great detail, let me outline what these changes are, and what they mean to our relationship.

Firstly and foremostly, there is a general shift in the Northfordian Naval Doctrine to developing an escort force, with battlefleets as an auxillary force, rather than the other way round. I cannot discuss the details, but it is sufficent to say that while we may have been sourcing our ships from places other than the PIW recently, as our new doctrine becomes more mature in it's development, we will be using your ships and services again to a much greater degree.

Anyway, on with the present orders.

Our first taskforce is nearing completion in it's composition. There are many things which we still lack, namely battleships, cruisers, and an underwater presence, but as it stands we have fully developed our flagships, their escorts and some of their logistical tail.

As the present force of ships lends itself well to defence exercises we would like to make our next purchase a number of escort ships, not because they have any great effect on our aquisition policy, but because they would be indefinately more useful in the present time.

To that end, I am authorised by the Northfordian Government to allot funds to the amount of $152 billion, to purchase 10 Oceania-class large escort vessel.

We will wire funds upon confirmation of order.

Regards,

James Tricker,
Northford.

SUJBECT: Benatar-class purchase

Dear Commodore Wilson (ISN-Ret.),

The Benatar-class trimaran heavy fleet aircraft carrier has made it past the Upper House of Parliament to provide Southeast Asia with a heavy fleet aircraft carrier which it lacks in. It is a worthy competitor to the Royal Shipyards' own Union-class trimaran heavy fleet aircraft carrier, and I have no doubt that the Benatar shall succeed the said marvellous design in its role in the Incorporated Sarzonian Navy.

As a representative of my nation, the United Sovereign Nations wishes to purchase five Benatar-class trimaran heavy fleet aircraft carriers in the interests of our modernization program and in order to retire some of our older, smaller aircraft carriers. The cost of 375,000,000,000 USD (Universal Standard Dollars) shall be wired to your esteemed corporation's primary bank account upon the confirmation of the order.

May relations between the Incorporated States and the United Sovereign Nations eternally endure and prosper!

OFFICIAL DIPLOMATIC COMMUNIQUE

To the CEO of Portland Iron Works:

You, sir, are currently in charge of one of the most successful companies in history. Felicitations. We are confident your economic prowess is next to none; what more could be expected from a company based in Sarzonia, home of the Panic of 2006? Such a heritage encourages all investors in the Portland Iron Works, we are sure.

The reason we condescend to communicate with you at all is that we have become aware that your nation has published a blacklist, if you will, of nations that are forbidden from purchasing products of the Portland Iron Works. To our great shock, we were not on that list. Our brothers in the Borman Empire, the Generic Empire, and the Imperium Doomanum were, but the Kregaian Imperium was denied this honor. Imagine our puzzlement; we are known to you. Your nation was one of those 'allies' of Czardas that were all too tardy, yet all too arrogant at the Czarna Conference. We are certainly what you would call an 'oppressive regime', not to mention our borderline tolerance of homosexual relationships; finally, we may thank the gods that our nation and Sarzonia are enemies.

And so, we demand that you recognize these facts. Blacklist us. Refuse us the right to purchase products from your tidy little corporation. If you want, the Imperium can commit another 'atrocity' to change your minds; in that case, we suggest you pay close attention to Kahanistan, which is very likely to be the target of the Imperial war machine literally within a matter of days. Respond quickly, infidels, one way or the other. We have populations to oppress and same-sex relations to frown upon. *wink*

Subject: Re: Acquirement of battleships

Dear Admiral Nicholas Crawford,

The retired Incorporated Sarzonian Navy Admiral, Barbara Tucker, and Chief Executive Officer of this corporation, would have been most honored to know that the National Armed Forces of Blackwood have chosen the Portland Iron Works' Kearsarge-class battleship for service in your country's navy. However, as the Incorporated States have had some concerns of their own to attend to, its premier firm, the Portland Iron Works have relocated its headquarters from Portland, Sarzonia to a state in the Union of Southeast Asian Nations in order to help our corporation survive and thrive.

Judging from your economic background and financial spending (http://nseconomy.thirdgeek.com/nseconomy.php?nation=Relative+Liberty), we deem that the sovereign country of Blackwood is capable of procuring and affording the (6) specified units requested. Subject: Re: Purchase

Dear Admiral Nicholas Crawford,

Yet again, we in the Portland Iron Works (at the moment based in a state of the United Sovereign Nations of Southeast Asia) are most honored by the Republican Navy of the Blackwoodian States's choice: our Kearsarge-class nuclear-powered battleships. As our intelligence of your nation's economic reports indicate, the Republican Navy has the capacity to afford the purchase of twelve Kearsarge-class battleships and maintain them.

Construction of the twelve Kearsarge-class battleships shall commence immediately at our shipyards. Estimated time arrival for the Kearsarge-class battleships ordered is within twelve [OOC: NS] years [OOC: 12 RL days], following the seaworthiness trials of each battleship. We most eagerly await for the payment of 138,000,000,000 Universal Standard Dollars to arrive once the ships have been sent to Blackwood.

Thank you for chosing the Portland Iron Works.

Yours Sincerely,
The Office of the Head of Portland Iron Works - Southeast Asia

REGARDING: Purchasing vessels.

It has been decided by Her Excellency the Regent that the Royal Romandeosian Navy has lived with the same basic equipment long enough. Being the Head of the Procurement Office, it is my duty to deal with this problem.

For this purpose, I wish to arrange the following purchases.

1. Three whole Task Force Packages
2. Three whole Surface Strike Packages

In the past, we have been allowed to make the payments for purchases in installments, and we ask that this be allowed this time as well, as a lump sum would be possible, but difficult.

More purchase requests will be filed later, but at the moment this is all I have the funding in place for, as recent international events have weakened Romandeos economically.

Hello again,

1. A single General Purpose Fleet Packages
2. A single Home Defense Fleet Package

Like before, an installment payment plan would be appreciated.

In addition, we would like to request a series of Production Rights Agreements, regarding land warfare platforms, such as APCs, IFVs and also MBTs.

REGARDING: Unusual Proposal

Hello again,

My nation is planning a mammoth strategic military buildup across the board, and wishes it be kept as secret as possible, because it is intended to prepare us for an invasion in to an incredibly powerful hostile nation which has in the past attacked us, deliberately targeting innocent civilian populations with bio weapons. Should this nation get wind early that we intend to attack, the consequences could be most severe.

I have been instructed to negotiate open-ended production contracts on numerous systems listed as vital to the strategic goals of my nation.

I am authorized to meet almost any term to ensure this proposal is accepted by yourselves in short order, and I hope you will accept it.

I have gathered a detailed list showing those systems we wish to have permission to build in these production agreements. It is as follows:

Military Vehicles
1. The Z-29 ‘Hunley’ MD/CV
2. The Z-41 ‘Regus’ LBT
3. The Z-30 ‘Cheetah’ LST
4. The Z-35 ‘Landshark’ APC
5. The Z-36 ‘Groundhog’ IFV
6. The Z-37 ‘Raptor’ AAV
7. The Z-42 ‘Calder’ MT
8. The Z-33 ‘Jaguar’ MBT

Military Anti-Vehicle Weapons
1. The S-20 ‘Porcupine’ SAM
2. The Z-38 ‘Panther’ 155mm SPA
3. The Z-40 ‘T-Rex’ 280mm SPA

Individual Munitions
1. The S-40 Boar .40 pistol
2. The S-120 Q&C .40 SMG
3. The M-32 Quinn Assault Rifle

I realize I am asking a great deal from you, and remind you that my nation’s need is great in this situation. Please authorize these contracts. Without them, we can not hope to bring my nation’s enemies to justice. In exchange for these proposals being authorized, we shall not seek production contracts on aircraft and ships during the planned conflict, but shall instead continue to purchase them directly from yourselves.

All requested items desired have been confirmed. However, as you should know from our terms and conditions with regards to the issue of production rights (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10045323&postcount=5), allies of the Incorporated States may have production rights, but a restricted amount on them....your letter to us did not cover the quantity of products you would like to construct for non-commercial purposes in your homeland. Dear Mr. Dorsey Bradford,

We are honored by your country's selection of our firm to protect your state and your people. After reviewing the economic profile of Luslyvania (http://nstracker.retrogade.com/index.php?nation=luslyvania), we feel that your country can afford it. However, we sense that if you wire the full cost for the products you desire, that several other departments in your country's government may be in a deficit of government expenditure. So in light of this, we are concerned for your people...however, we are a business of course, we are flexible as well.

We strongly recommend that you wire the funds in pieces, and are of course more than willing to arrange a payment transfer plan with you. However, do keep in mind that this is not mandatory nor are we trying to dictate how your government manages its nation and its affairs, but rather, giving advice. We do hope that this does not discourage you from procuring from the Portland Iron Works, Mr. Bradford.

PRODUCTION RIGHTS AGREEMENT

By signing this agreement, the nation of New Truronia agrees to this contract for the amount of $15.8 billion whereby the purchaser may produce not more than 600 units of 'Cheetah' Light Tank, 300 units of Regus LBT's, 150 units of 'Jaguar MBT's, 50 units of Bonham MBT's, 300 units of 'Panther' SPAU's and 150 units of 'T-Rex' SPAU's for use in the active or ready reserve military of New Truronia only. Further units may be purchased from the Portland Iron Works or the contract may be renewed at the consent of the company. Any modernisation of the original product will be forwarded to New Truronia via secure data connections.

New Truronia may not disclose information normally considered classified to another country without the explicit consent of the Incorporated Sarzonian Government.

New Truronia is expressly prohibited from reverse engineering or from producing or selling any variants of all of the above designs. This contract does not cover the right to distribute units, which the Company shall maintain. Failure to adhere to the terms outlined in this contract shall result in the direct forfeiture of the right of production of further units and may result in legal action. Any amendments to this contract shall have been discussed and agreed to before this contract is signed.

The ministry of defence here in New Truronia respect the fact that Portland may not allow us the production rights to so many designs but we are willing to pay over the hilt for the permission to produce the number of the specified designs above. This is hopefully shown by the price we are offering.

The grand total of this tranzaction works out to:
$182,261,000,000

We can wire the money immediately upon confirmation of the above.

End transmission.

The Portland Iron Works are glad to see an old face return for military procurement. The Publius-class battlecarrier is a homage to a Praetonian politician, and a reminder of more positive days with the Praetonian-Sarzonian special relationship. It's good to see that we have a product you desire, and the Endeavour-class large combat transport ship proves it's worth as an amphibious support vessel and deliverer of an armored division itself. Your order is confirmed. Please send payment to our primary corporate bank account in order to commence naval construction. Your ships shall arrive to a port of your choice in five [OOC: NS] years. To Whom It May Concern,

The Portland Iron Works is glad to see a new face, and a potential business partner in the making. While we are certain that the Republic of Greston can afford it, according to this profile (http://nsdossier.texasregion.net/main.aspx) we see little to no defense budget. Unless of course your law enforcement services are merged with the armed forces. And judging from the size of the order, I would recommend to pay in parts over a due period of time as not to completely strain it, but that is your decision not mine. The construction and trials of your product shall begin upon confirmation of the order and wiring of funds to our corporate bank account.

The Republic of Greston is a large group of nations and whenever we go into a storefront it is our combined defence budget that pays for it. As you said the law enforcers are part of the armed forces which solves the problem. We will have the funds wired on Monday. We will pay in a 18 month time interval.

Greetings, Friends.

Once again, the Commonwealth of Northford calls upon it's friends in the Portland Iron Works to provide them the wares which to wage war with.

This time, however, the Commonwealth, rather than buying vessals, is hoping to purchase Unlimited Domestic Production rights to the Hatchett-class Ultra Large Container Ship, with an aim to re-enforce its merchant marine.

The Commonwealth of Northford is firm in it's desire to aquire this DPR, regardless of the price (OOC: Don'ttake the piss)

There's no listing on the S-200 Battle Rifle for domestic production rights, and the sheer size of the Peacekeepers means to buy the units individually would be more than a little unwieldy. The usual rate for DPRs is one million times the price of an individual unit, making the theoretical cost US$1.2 billion. Is this acceptable to you?

To: Portland Iron Works
From: Arroza Ministry of the Navy

We have finished the plans for the rebuilding of the currently outdated Arrozan Navy, and as a neighbor in Atlantic Oceania and a trading partner of Arroza, we would like to give you the first choice of whether to accept or deny our request for an updated Naval Defense Fleet. Enclosed are the proposals for the fleet that we would like built, with some changes made. Of course the changes desired are noted at the important parts. The total bill for this fleet, according to our calculations would be approximately 360 Billion Dollars, which should be well within Arroza's military budget.

Order:

The Arrozan Open Sea Fleets Order is as follows:

1 – General Purpose Fleet (253 Ships – 320 Billion)

However, as the Arrozan people despise nuclear weaponry, and the ability to deliver the weaponry we would like to remove the ten Relentless – class ballistic missile submarines and replace them with a more needed littoral and coastal defense package. Looking through the catalog, we would suggest that we replace the ten submarines with a package of slightly lesser value. Therefore, instead of the submarines we request the addition of four[4] Littoral Warfare Squadrons, and five[5] Coastal Patrol Squadrons.

Total Ships in package:

1 Independence-class pocket SD (BBGN)
1 Benatar-class heavy carrier (CVAN)
4 Victory-class fleet carriers (CVN)
2 Swiftsure-class light carriers (CVL)
5 Trinity-class nuclear powered battleships (BBGN)
5 General Dent-class large cruisers (BC)
10 Agrippa-class heavy missile cruisers (CAGN)
15 Shield Bearer-class missile cruisers (CG)
20 Samuel B. Roberts-class destroyers (DDN)
25 Wixted-class frigates (FF)
5 McDonough-class frigates (FF)
50 Pickering-class corvettes (FL)
50 Piranha-class fast missile boats
4 Perseus-class river monitors
12 Maidstone-class river gunboats
24 Stills-class assault support patrol boats
25 Ossippee-class special operations boats (50 RIBs/50 CRRCs included)
20 Navarre-class nuclear powered attack submarines (SSN)
20 Insurgent-class special operations submarines
20 Minuteman-class littoral defense submarines (SSKs)
8 Bulldog-class land attack submarines
8 Insurgent-class attack submarine variants
10 Lake-class mine clearance vessels

As many of the following ships have a aerial component not included in the prices, we would also like to make a complimentary order for a set of planes to fully stock the Open Sea Fleet. The following are the naval Aircraft required, with an itemized bill for each aircraft type.

Naval-Based Aircraft:
[good lord this adds up quick]

110 SZ-15 Dragon ASW/Transport Helicopter – 2.2 Billion Dollars
30 SZ-16 Catamount Attack Helicopters - .6 Billion Dollars
10 SZ-18 Hurricane Attack Helicopters – .3 Billion Dollars
115 SZ-5 Lion Strike Fighters – 8.740 Billion Dollars
40 SZ-1 Vulture – 1.8 Billion Dollars
40 SZ-11 Twintail - 1.8 Billion Dollars
40 SZ-10 Seahound Carrier Defense – 2 Billion Dollars
10-SZ-23 Aurora Patrol/Scout Planes - .8 Billion Dollars
10 SZ-6 Pegasus SAR Helicopters - .45 Billion Dollars
20 SZ-7 Maritime Recon Planes - .8 Billion Dollars

Pending Approval of the Sarzonian Government, as these planes are shown to be dangerous when in the wrong hands, we would also like to order the following planes. If the offer is rejected, please let us know immediately so we can negotiate with other countries for advanced planes.

25 F-150 Ebonhawk Strike Fighters – 4.375 Billion Dollars
25 F-150-A Seahawk Air Superiority Fighters – 4.375 Billion Dollars
