Navassa

As I sat around one day, I had the fortune to find an uninhabited island off of the southern peninsula of Haiti named "Navassa" I really had nothing better to do than to declare it an independant nation, and from there, things started. After I recruited some inhabitants, wrote three constitutions, started a monetary system, and fixed all existing buildings and built some new ones, Haiti sent in troops to annex us. We fought off the Haitians with the aid of the US, and we took the southern peninsula from the Haitians and developed it into a great region. The only problem was, the US saw Navassa as a part of itself, and refused to recognize our independence. It also did not help that as a nation, we were highly socialist, and the Yanks hate that. We only wanted them to leave, but the Americans stayed, and with passing day, more and more of our populace seemed to accept the grim fate that we indeed were now Americans. The old saying goes, desperate times, desperate measures, and this was certainly a desperate time, so we declared war on the USA. We won many major land battles and got them off of the islands, and the invasion of Florida went well. At least at first. But then, something terrible happened; the Yanks, in a desperate move, genetically engineered a virus that wiped out 90% of my armed forces, and also wiped out millions of innocents. that was three years ago; now the Americans are staring down the capital city, Joetown. We're losing men by the minute, and we're going to lose this war if we do not get some help soon. Please, join Navassa and help us rid ourselves of this monkey on our backs once and for all.
