For few seconds, Pazu-Lenny was disappointed; he had dreamed Midori will be dressed in an eccentric, coloured and fashioned Shibuya’s style, as his former idol, back to his student’s years, Ayu

But he soon remembered that it was supposed to be an “official” visit, and even if he disliked much uniforms, he find her very sexy and classy in her Air Force’s one. And quickly he was once again bewitched by her melodious voice.

Midori and a customs Kirisubo’s official invited Pazu-Lenny and Sandra to visit Edo’s International Airport and customs. Pazu-Lenny and Midori were often glaring at each others.

Pazu-Lenny didn’t know very well Sandra until few weeks ago when they worked together with Vigdís Tirfinnbogadót and the Forgottenlands’ UN Ambassador on the “Right to Divorce “ proposal. They begin to appreciate each other very much. With the age difference between them, Sandra could have been his grandmother, and he began to call her affectionately, “Grandma”, Sandra seemed to enjoy it. Their relationship had become special and they were now almost able to read in the other mind. She had smell something from the beginning from the unusual comportment of Pazu-Lenny; then she asked the LAEIA (LAE Intelligence Agency) to check if there was any foreign-affairs conference in the Empire of Kirisubo, and then found out there was no one this week, she had a smile when she found it out, it was exactly what she had expected.

A diplomat official from LAE interrupted their discussion and handed back to Pazu-Lenny, the very small packet he had transferred via the diplomatic bag. Pazu-Lenny thanked him and put the mysterious tiny packet in his pocket. Then he said to Midori and Sandra he must go to be on time at his fictive foreign-affairs conference. But before he could do anything Sandra let them now she must go for her appointment with Kirisubo’s Ministry of Justice, kissed them both as if they were her children, and left adding an enigmatic “enjoy your 3 days my children”.

For 2 long minutes, they were unable to speak or even move a finger, only smiling , at 20 cm a distance from oneother, the world around us didn’t existed anymore, they were alone in the middle of the crowded Edo’s International Airport, Sandra had a look back behind her, she also was smiling.

Sandra now followed by a Kirisuban civil servant and a driver head to a saloon car which is is being fillled up with bio-diesel.

the female civil servant hands her a schedule of meetings and explains "theres sufficent time between meetings if you want to explore Edo. All you have to do is ask your driver Omi and he'll take you round the city"

Midori waits until Sandra has gone as says softly "i've made all the arrangements for the skiiing. We'll be going by helicopter to the Mount Tanaka resort once i pick it up from the nearby airforce base.

She steps away, opens up her cell phone and starts chattering away in Kirisuban. Now all business her tone of voice was suddenly more authoritarian as she made the arrangements to borrow a helicopter.

Omi talks about bio-diesel and the main reason it was developed was because the empire dosen't have a lot of oil in its own borders. he proudly continues to explain that a prototype of a hydrogen engine has been developed and should be in production within a year.

There are 16 beds in this Alpine hut, but i booked and paid for all the 16 myself, and at this time of the year this yamagoya is not tended by any Alpine Club personnel, it can be great. We will just have to buy some food, but i will carry it"

When she left, Sandra asked Omi to drive her to the LAE embassy and told him to wait for her, as she will not be long.
There, she asked to meet the LAEIA responsible in Kirisubo and told him she was really expecting a true romance between Pazu-Lenny and Midori, but that everything has gone so fast, Pazu-Lenny was so young and Midori so attractive, that it maybe better the LAEIA keep an eye on the events for the next 3 days.

In the meanwhile, a young married couple (from what was written on their passports) of LAE citizens, a man and a woman arrived at the Edo international airport with each a snowboard in their luggages. They were warmly welcomed at their arrival, by Thomas another LAE citizen. Thomas was working for few years in Edo in a multinational company from another nation, he informed his company that he will take a week of vacation only the day before on the afternoon, but it was not a big deal as he was head of his department and he was often working overtime. He had rent a bio-diesel SUV, the three of them fixed their snowboard on the roof and left the airport in the direction of ... Mount Tanaka resort

Pazu-Lenny really enjoyed the lanscape, it was beautifull, and unique from the helicopter point of view and told his impressions to Midori. She didn't answered his advances about double-seated-double-pachinko or massage, but after all it was pretty logical, they were not in a hurry.

The 2 LAE citizens who just arrived in Edo airport were in reality not married, they passports were fake. It was the first time they met, and they never met Thomas before. The 3 of them were undercover agents of the LAEIA.
Thomas was the only agent in Kirisubo, and it was its first real mission in the empire. 2 hours ago he went to the embassy, were he met Sandra and get some technical stuff which arrived by the same diplomatic bag that the mysterious packet of Pazu-Lenny.

Pazu-Lenny didn't know about it. And he would probable never know that it was Sandra who organised this and that she was herself an undercover agent of the LAEIA. Thomas will not know either, thinking she had just rendered a small service today, and even, apart from the president, no one in the LAE government knew.

Sandra was really hoping some happiness to come to Pazu-Lenny, and she knew that her action was maybe not 100% rational, but it happens she had loose a son at his age, and acted a little bit as a mother this week. She make sure that the LAEIA team will stay the more discreet possible, hoping they will not have to intervene at all and that the romance will happen.

Pazu-Lenny was sad about the answer of Midori, as for him his friends and family were more important than his job, but he was absolutely not in a mood to be disappointed by Midori, and didn't considered her answer seriously.

He explained her that their jokes were not blessing one, but both some funny reference to Pazu-Lenny former idealism when he was young and also a sort of subliminal help to help him to keep ground on reality.

Then as it seems there was a small different here, he wanted to change the topic, but he was shy sometimes, for sure it was because of his sentiments for her, and didn't know what topic to talk bout at this precise moment.

Then he was back on politics, he knows it was not a good move and many others topic would have been better than politics, but he asked:

regarding our drugs laws it depends on the substance involved. a person caught in possession of a mild drug like cannabis would usually end up in a social services drug treatment program and that would be the end of it.

if its a hard drug like cocaine or heroin they would still go on a drug treatment course.

We look as drug users as victims. if we caught drug pushers or smugglers they would get a long stretch in prison for mild drugs and could even be looking at the death penalty for hard drugs.

off course we are open to plea bargaining if they want to turn in others of their kind. Each case is different so you can't generalise.

In a nation where the family, duty and honour are central building blocks i'm sure you understand why we look so dimly on drug smugglers and pushers. We've reached a point where theres great social equality. No one goes hungry, we've eliminated poverty, theres freedom of action up to a point, free speech and we are always aiming to push these boundaries further"

the radio in the helicopter crackles into life and Midori answers into her headset in rapid and clipped Kirisuban. she smiles when she recognises the female voice on the other end of the radio and closes down the radio when she's finished talking.

She smiles at Pazu-Lenny and says "we're getting an escort in the rest of the way. The airbase knows to expect us and they didn't want to lose an important guest such as yourself. That was one of my old friends on the radio. I didn't know Jun was back at Mt Tanaka"

He expected her opinion about drugs to be softer, but he was mostly relieved by her answer about drugs law in Kirisubo, as he forgot to check about it before to come. He was wondering if Midori had noticed his relief when she answered, his reaction had been discreet but obvious. But he didn’t have to care anymore about it.

He followed her, trying to improve his technical style and listening to her advice. They went down on a Double Black Diamond run. Then Pazu-Lenny spotted a trail on the side of the slope going down inside a wood, he accelerated and engaged in, Midori followed in, the trail was pretty difficult, slaloming between the trees and sometimes with no other choice than to have a small technical jump, but it was not a problem for them and even less for Midori.

He stopped suddenly, a rock in front of him, and no snow at the bottom. One second later Midori stopped few centimetres behind him, the two of us were close to fall down but they both clinged at each other and managed to avoid the fall. They found themselves arm in arm and Pazu-Lenny kissed Midori for few longs sweet minutes.

Then they take off their ski went down the rock and resumed their slalom down between the trees.

When they arrived at the inn, he went to the closet, opened his mysterious packet, throwed the content in the closet, flushed 3 times and left only when he was secure the tiny pills didn’t exist anymore. Sandra was enjoying Omi presence, it was nice to visit a great city with someone cultivated. Indeed, pazu-lenny was not at ease with public nudity, but mostly he wanted to have some affection with midori and his reluctance was more about private and intimate affection in public than nudity.

He joined Midori in the bath and tried to massage her the best than he can. He was not excellent at this, but he had some basic knowledge and this evening he managed to be pretty good at it.

He told her that indeed even if laws were not very hard on these matter, nudity and inimate affection in public were pretty rare in LAE, beaches and kisses execpted of course. Sadly, inn's bath wer pretty rare in LAE, he told here about the great blue lagoons. They were located only in one
island: "akureyri", but they were famous touristic attraction.

The inn was not full as it was on a non-holyday weekday, and the other people in the bath left, then the ladies left also, they were now alone in the bath. Then Pazu Lenny told Midori 'in LAE a nice guy is taking care of his lover this way" and went donw on her for a long time.

A long time after, as he was thinking to have some other sexual practice, he then told himself it might be ok for today, and it was maybe beter not to go to fast, and anyway he was feeling pretty well having from and giving to cuddles with midori.

even good things had to come to an end as as the water cooled, Midori kisses Pazu-Lenny on the cheek and pulls away.

"that was marvellous" she whispers as she climbs out of the bath and puts on a cotton kimono.

"maybe after dinner you can show me more of how a man looks after a woman. My room, 2200 hours" she adds giving him a mock salute and a big grin.

after getting him dressed in his kimono and hakama, Midori changes into her green kimono and they head out to a traditional restaurant.

Midori orders because the menu is in her language and she looks tries not to look too distracted while she eats and chats.

Pazu-Lenny was relaxed and felt happy, this Kirisubo trip was wonderful, and he was hoping more and more his relation with Midori to last long.
He regretted few seconds to have destroyed the "soma" pills as Midori seemed to have no taboo about sex, but anyway it was not a bad move, and it could be great to introduce it latter, next month, in Chamonix.

At the restaurant he faked to ask for an "hambaga" to the server who smiled. The food ordered by Midori was great, he thanked her and told her about the last time he ate in a top-rated restaurant, El bulli, the world most famous restaurant.

He woke up, for few seconds he was scared as he was alone in the bed, but hopefully Midori was not far, he went in the kitchen kissed her in her neck, thanked her for the marvellous night and helped her to make the breakfast.

He told her what just happen to him few seconds ago, and they both maked fun of him. they couldn't resist to make love once more before leaving the inn, and then began their 2-days alpine ski touring trip.

Pazu-Lenny's Suunto swatch was connected to the newly opened commercial service from the Galileo Global Positioning System (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galileo_positioning_system) and it was pretty easy to follow the winter itinery, with their position on the map (on his PDA) displayed with an accuracy of less than 1 meter. she once again made fun of him, as with all this technological stuff it was now too much easy to practice alpine ski touring.
It was pretty steep but both of them were on excellent health condition, and their pace was fast

after picking up a bag of food at the local convience store and having packed them into a backpack, Midori follows Pazu Lenny hardly noticing the weight on her back. having sent their cases ahead to the lodge they didn't have to worry about them.

"in basic training i was skiiing with a 20kg pack on my back so this is nothing" she jokes "and i didn't have a lot of high tech equipment. i had a map, a compass and a pocket radio"

soon they arrive and find their cases waiting for them.

They reached Yarigatake Sanso yamagoya, pretty soon, due to their fast pace. As it was expected they were alone, they cooked some food and spend another sweet and hot wonderful night.

On the morning they resumed their way up to the summit of Mount Fujiyama. Lots of snow had fallen during the night but now the sky was clear and the view was magnificent over land, mountains and the ocean.

They had another sweet time together:fluffle: and began the way down, with all of the powder snow fallen last night, it was some incredible ski.

They stopped for their picnic and had a snowball battle; they found themselves tangled together in the powder snow:p , then Pazu-Lenny told Midori:

Midori had expected this question to arise sooner or later.

She looks at Pazu-Lenny and says "i would like to marry you but we've got more than a marriage already.

Pazu-lenny was happy, these 3 days has been the most beautiful days of his life so far, and he felt his future full of lights.

meanwhile back in The UN HQ, Kaigan Miromuta was in his 40th floor office trying to teach his new secretary how things worked in the UN.

It was slow going and although Reiko Sakura was good at her job she was still having problems in settling in.

he lets her check the UN network and drinks some green tea while he thinks.

He was happy with Midori's answers but suspected that something else was going on. However he could always ask her when she came back.

Reiko checks over the passed UN resolutions and Kaigan makes some calls back to foreign office to tell them he thinks that Reiko will fit in well.

Noting how late its getting (and that we was well over his 40 hour week already) he leaves Reiko to lock up the office and returns to his small apartment near UN HQ.

As they were pretty much active in the night, they decided to turn off the clock when it rang at dawn. They left the Inn very late, and Pazu-Lenny Kasigi-Nero arrived at the general assembly once the debate had already begun for long.

The day after they found a small house to rent, with a garden and an indoor bath. It was not to far from the UN headquarter, only 20 minutes for Pazu-Lenny by mountain bike.

Now back at work for a few days and in the chamber as the vote was coming to a close, Midori had only made two speeches. Other people were doing a better job of opposing this than she was .

She had told Kaigan the full story and he was happy for her, even telling her "i can cope for up to three weeks now that Reiko's here. theres no need to rush your honeymoon"

She looked round for her soulmate and seen him in the crowd. The poll had not yet closed and there was a while to wait.

She listened to the final speeches and contemplated how to add the finishing touches to their little house. The bath was sunken, the way she liked it and large enough for two but she needed some Kirisuban touches.

With the likelyhood of a quiet few days ahead she had the time to organise the house to her liking and to relax.

the vote came to an end and she found herself on the losing side but not by much. After bringing her boss up to date she located her beloved who had informed the entire chamber about their wedding plans.

this brought a big smile to her face and in her final speech she reminded him that is was his turn to make dinner which raised a laugh or two.

having got her trip to Kageshima out of the way Midori takes the portal from Edo Airport to LAE Airport waiting for her beloved on Christmas eve. She's also got a bit of a suntan as well.

Midori and Pazu-Lenny arrived at Pazu-Lenny's house, in Little-Vagator, a small town near the capital Vagator

Midori smiles when she recognises the style of the house.

"isn't this one of Ito san's creations?" she says and gently kisses Pazu-Lenny as they relax on the sofa.

"you've done a great job my love" she says as she slips off her jacket, kicks of her shoes and snuggles into him.

"Can I see the rest of the house?"

"you don't do things by half" Midori tells Pazu-Lenny as she kisses him gently under the shower.

"I'm looking forward to meeting your family as well" she says "just as my father and cousins are looking forward to meeting you"

The house of Esteban and Zia Nero was a comfortable American-style house, as most ones in LAE. But what was special was their French influenced garden. No one of the 2 parts of the garden was a traditional French garden. The 1st part was a duplicate of Giverny, the garden of the famous XIX century impressionist painter Claude Monet, in Normandy.

The second part was a lavender field, a typical South of French landscape, but not only as lavender had become more and more grown in some nations as Japan or even Kirisubo.

Gardening was Esteban and Zia passion, and they were spending an important part of their money in since their 3 children, Tasmila, Pazu-Lenny and Suranjan, were working.
As most LAE citizens, Esteban and Zia were migrants, as LAE was a new nations, which no natives in the Archipelago.
Esteban came from Argentina, but his origin was from Spain, as his own parents were also migrants. He was a roman catholic, but not a devout one and was a renowned doctor and scientist specialized in research on cells senescence.
Zia was parents were Bangladeshi, a Hindu mother and Muslim father. She migrated to LAE with the aims to get a paediatric diploma and go back in her native country, but she then meet Esteban and they got married.
Zia, along with Esteban and their older children Tasmila, who was also in the medical profession as anaesthetists, were regularly flying to Bangladesh and the Indian’s state of West-Bengal (the historical west part of Bengal) for humanitarian health action.
Zia was not very devout herself but always kept his Hindu influence and was seen regularly in Vagator south Indian temple.

Pazu-Lenny has been then been influenced by various religious idea in his youth by his family but also by his brother in law, Mahavira, Tasmila husband, who was a Jain and adhered to the new Positive Jainism current. But he was not a believer himself, and even if this helped him to always had great respect for religion, he was more interested by a growing philosophy which was more adapted to his thinking: “Transhumanism”.
He also never forgotten his mother origin, and it was maybe why he has always try to think of developing nations development in his UN interventions, an area which will be the topic of his next UN proposal.

All of them were here today to welcome Midori in the family. Zia was especially happy today and greeted Midori warmly. As usual when it was not raining they had lunch outside in the replicated Giverny garden.

Midori smiles when she meets Pazu-Lenny's family and bows when she first sees them gathered sticking with what she knows.

Not knowing any Bangladeshi or Spanish yet she sticks to english.

"Zia san, Estaban san thank you for having me" she says gently but with a hint of nervousness and then bows to Tasmila and Suranjan.

Holding Pazu-Lenny's hand she joins them in the garden and starts chatting with his parents telling them how they met in the UN but leaving Pazu-Lenny the tale about their ski trip.

"I like what you've done with the garden" she adds "my father likes gardening as well when he's not working. His specility is cherry blossoms"

Zia answered Midori she was actually loving cherry blossom, and told her husband it will be a great idea to add some in the Garden.

Pazu-Lenny mentioned the different kind of cherry blossom he had in his garden.

Zia was delighted by the presence of Midori, she told her nicely that no one was supposed to bow in LAE, and try all she can to make her comfortable; the whole family was charmed. As the whole family was more pro-UN and liberals, Pazu-Lenny asked them before to try to avoid political discussion in particular to Suranjan, his brother and to Mahavira, his brother in law, who were stunned that Pazu-Lenny ever wanted to marry someone with opposite political views and who had make fun of him nicely the previous days.

After the lunch Pazu-Lenny invited Midori to have a tour of the “impressionist garden” and the lavender.

Then at the end of the afternoon, they left to join Pazu-Lenny friends at the “Café del Mar” for the sunset, where John Digweed was the special guest DJ that evening.

There Pazu-Lenny explained to Midori what has almost replaced alcohol, tobacco and other recreative drugs in LAE. He told her about the soma pills he flushed in the toilet back in Mt Tanaka resort few weeks ago and told him the story of the soma.

Then LAE drugs industry seized the opportunity and rapidly developed a new substance: the “soma” which has almost no side effect and was almost not addictive when taken in reasonable quantity. The trade is very regulated and monitored, there are different kinds of soma, in effects and power and it’s forbidden under 18. I take some occasionally, but I promise you to be careful with it and that I will never take some without letting you know”

He was secretly prepared as she asked him to never take some again, and to accept, but he was hoping she will only ask him to take care. In his dreams, he was also hoping she will ask him to try, but he would never dare to ask her.

Midori being a quick learner took on board Zia's advice and says "I can bring some cherry blosssom seedlings over when we have our honeymoon. My father would be delighted to share some"

When they went to the Cafe and listened to the DJ, she found herself liking her beloveds friends already. She listened intently to the music and danced closely with Pazu-Lenny once she got the beat.

Midori was slightly annoyed when Pazu-Lenny mentioned Soma but it passed quickly when she kissed him and said gently "you won't need Soma when i'm around. My love should be all you need.

However if you want to take it please do so in mild doses. this is your culture and you should know by now that my natsov views don't allow me to push my drug view point on you"

She takes him by the hand again and they start dancing again Midori kissing him occasionally, wearing her favourite light green tankini and a pair of cotton trousers.

The sun disappeared in the ocean.

He kissed her tenderly.

as darkness fell Midori felt more alive here and now than she ever had before.

"I'm glad you're being honest with me my dear" she whispers in his ear as they dance "I don't need anything else when i've got you"

The rest of the world didn't exist for her. Right now there was just the two off them..

Zia thanked Midori for the cherry blossom seed and accepted her offer

she tickles him under the chin and feeling tired sits down on the sand.

"it must be the jet lag catching up on me. it was a long flight from Kageshima and i'm still not too sure about the UN portals" she says weakly her eyes beginning to close over.

Midori weakly nods and accepts her fiances assitance back to the car. "I'm sorry for spoiling you're time with your friends" she says before getting into the front passenger seat.

"i was born and raised in Nagano" she replies gently "one of the major ski resorts in the Empire. Every child can ski there"

She falls asleep on the way home...

Christmas passes and soon Pazu-Lenny and Midori are on a plane to Kirisubo in time for new year.

They take a bullet train to Nagano and Midori's father Air Marshall Katsuo Kasigi is waiting at the station for them.

As he drives them back to the family home outside the ski resort he talks with Pazu-Lenny in fluent english and tells him "everybody in the family has been looking forward to your arrival Pazu san, especially Midori's cousins"

Back at the UN Midori was looking a bit like a whale. 5 months ago she found out about the twins and while she promised to work as long as she could it was getting harder for her.

the scans were looking good and her doctor was confident that things would go smoothly.

she found her husband after a debate and showed him the latest scan results. even now the babies heads were clear as well as their arms.
