entitled The morning sun rises over the far hills, as The Oppressed Peoples of Regnarctica slowly wake. what awaits them on this fateful day? they look to the sea just in time to see a foreign navy approaching, infact, the foreign navy continues to approach, right into the main harbor of Regnarctica, without any opposition, as the few ships of Regnarctica that ever existed were already sunk by a volatile combination of precision guided missies and torpedoes. Regnarctica's army and national guard raises the alarm and the dutiful citizens of Regnarctica pick up their pitchforks and prepare to battle. unfortunately, the attacking forces of new grenatica have already blasted through half of the capitol city, and the rest of the city lays in shambles due to a barrage of precision guided bombs, followed by a raining of mortar shells, the remaining living citizens are quick to sign the peace treaty offered to them, which, in its glory, temporarily enslaves 100,000 citizens as factory workers, and forces the rest to pay a tribute of 100,000,000,000 grams to new grenatica, in compensation for peace.

on thier way back into the familiar land of New Grenatica:
sgt: well, that was a quick and successful campaign.
General: yes, it's just what the doctor ordered to keep us [awsome].

Invading a sovereign nation is ugly. Remove yourself from the land you have invaded.

awwwwww what a nice story. Opress the workers, pay for your perfect pearl you call order, and give homage to your benevolent leaders...that's what you call peace.

Off RegnarcticaThe SSN Hammerhead glided slowly through the waters just beyond the territorial limit. At a mere five knots, the nuclear-powered boat was almost inaudible.

"Anything in the neighboorhod?" Captain Janice Ranier asked the SO.

"No. ma'am," replied the SO. "Nothing in listening range."

"Good," said Captain Ranier. "Load drones in Tubes One and Two, flood, and discharge." She turned to Major Robert Thionville. "Major, are your boys ready to move?"

"Whenever you're ready to give us the green light, ma'am."

The State Department“I don’t think I have to tell you,” Secretary of State Edith Mayenne said to the New Granatican Ambassador, “Just how badly your nation is violating international law by invading and conquering the sovereign nation of Regnarctica. We don’t make it a habit to intervene in the internal affairs of even the most noxious state, but an invasion – well, that’s another matter.”

“So,” she said, leaning closer. “Give me just one good reason why we shouldn’t take your little nation to the cleaners over this.”

I invaded because it was there. Actually it was more like a relationship thing. I know this guy and he thought it was kinda funny, which I took to be his OK.

however...

Admiral: Corporal, what’s that beeping sound?

Corporal: It seems to be some kind of invasion force, sir.

Admiral: Then prepare the defense forces.

Corporal: Right away sir.

Off RegnarcticaThe robot drone whirred softly through the water, tied to the SSN Hammerhead by nothing more than a few strands of fibre-optic cable. Its passive sonar listened for ships moving through the water; when it detected no sound, it occasionally released a series of chirps and pops similar to those emitted by a porpoise, after which it would listen for their reflection - a form of active sonar. It “swam” inshore following the same sort of sinusoidal path a large aquatic mammal would follow, sliding one way and then the other.

Its entire purpose was to detect the presence of enemy vessels; if none were detected, the way would be open for the landing of a special forces’ team. If vessels were detected, on the other hand, the drone could be retrieved and the SSN Hammerhead could try again further down the coast.OOC: Post details on naval strength in the area, please.
