01-12-2005, 06:26
The bright sun beats down on the tarmac at the Kimbu Flight Test Center in the Kimbu Desert of Flightopia. The temprature is close to 110 degrees, sitting in nice covered tents, ranking members of Flightopia's military, celebrites, and political figures sit and wait. Then a small dot appears on the horizon, and suddenly flashes in a streek of black before thier eyes. The craft turns and decends for landing, but insted of landing is rotates and begins to hover infront of the crowd and then gently touches earth. A thunderous applause explodes. It is the F/A-35 Talon, the newest in avation technology and the newest memeber of the Flightopian Air Force and Navy.

Keynote Systems:
-Laser radar (LADAR), uses lasers in place of radio waves, undetectable to current ECM equipment. Can detect air, ground, ship targets, and draw a photograpth quality image of the battle space up 600-800km away, including some spacecraft in LEO. Allows the ELR (Extreme Long Range) ordanace to use the LADAR to track thier target, they only need thier terminal guidance radar activated for the final aproach, this means that unless the pilot imidatety breaks and uses contermeasures it will be too late. Devloped by a Flightopian hero, Dale Brown.
-“Scatter Plot” Radar Detection Avoidance System (RDAS). It receives incoming radar emissions and throws them 180º away from their origin.
-VTOL and Thrust Vectoring.
-There are two CIPs (Common Intergraded Processors) in each F/A-35, with 78 module slots per CIP.
-The new EW-789 Electronic Warfare Command and Control Module (EWCCM).
-User-friendly glass cockpit.
