New Beginnings: Council of Air Powers Rebirth (ATTN: Previous members)

Sarzonia
01-12-2005, 05:35
As the Incorporated Sarzonian Air Force began to change its aspirations from merely serving as a defensive arm of the Sarzonian military to being a legitimate source of power projection. Early successes and later challenges have fueled the nation's desire to look to the skies and develop new military and civilian technologies with like-minded nations.

The obvious choice for Sarzonia and newly-appointed Air Force Chief Greg Rodgers was to apply for the Council of Air Powers. Sarzonia had long eyed that alliance since it included several nations with whom Sarzonia had strong relations, including The Zoogie People and especially Praetonia, one of Sarzonia's longest-standing alliances.

However, by the time Parliament and President Mike Sarzo agreed to submit a petition for membership into the CAP, they received word that the alliance had dissolved. The old headquarters (http://s7.invisionfree.com/council_ap) had fallen into disrepair. Sarzo went to Rodgers and told him, "you know what you have to do."

Rodgers then sent out a transmission.

Subject: Resurrection of the Council of Air Powers

Greetings. We at the Incorporated States of Sarzonia and the Incorporated Air Force are saddened to learn of the demise of the Council of Air Powers. As an emergent air power, we are interested in rectifying that by re-establishing the Council with temporary headquarters in our capital, Woodstock.

Interested parties should contact us via the information listed in this communicade. We hope to see the Council return with a stronger voice than it has ever possessed before.

OOC: Basically, I'm looking to refound the Council of Air Powers. The new board (which is incomplete ATM) is here (http://s13.invisionfree.com/Council_of_AirPowers). If you're interested, please respond on this thread. Thanks.

The Omzian government and the Omzian Forces Air Force, upon the reception of the proposal, is eager about the prospects of a new rebirth of the Council of Air Powers, the same organization that we helped to found but ever since had gradually fallen into disrepair and neglect. Wanting to shy away from this gloomy future, the Omzian government would be more than ecstatic to assist in the latest effort geared to bring the Council of Air Power back to its fullest glory.

The Dominion of DMG is interested in learning more about the Council of Air Powers and as such would be interested in joining at the time being. And indeed, we do maintain a massive aerial force, though it is mostly used in the defense of our nation and our territorial waters.

The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski is quite interested in the Council of Air Powers. Although it was not a previous member of the previous one, the Security Council has elected me, as Marshall of The Air Force (soon to be retitled Executive Air Marshall) which is the top position the Air Force has to offer, to attend the meetings in Woodstock if so permitted by the Incorporated States of Sarzonia. Admiral Ken Murphy, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski has expressed interest in attending the discussion while he plans to visit Sarzonia on a business trip.

Greetings from the Libertarian Concordance of Czardas! While we have never been a member of this alliance, we are interested in joining. We never had an opportunity to join the former alliance but would be interested in applying for this one. Our air force is indisputably the strong point of our military, and in addition several nations with which we have indirect or direct ties seem to be applying already. Therefore, please let us know if our application is accepted. Thank you and have a pleasant day.

[OOC: Templa, this is essentially an alliance of like-minded nations that are either current air powers or are developing air powers and it's intended to be a mutual defence alliance with a heavy element of technology development/sharing. As it's an alliance of like-minded nations, if your ideals are similar to those of the nations who are applying, that would put you in good stead.

OOC2: Space Union, since a couple of other nations that are friendly to both of us have joined, as far as I'm concerned, you're a member. Welcome. Same goes for everyone else who got a "wait and see" message from me ICly up 'till this post.]

Greetings our esteemed allies! While we have never been a member of this alliance or even heard about it until now we would be interested in applying for this one. Although the "Air Force" isn't as highly funded as the navy, that is only because a large amount of naval funds go to the upkeep of planes as we field large numbes of them within the "Naval Air Force". And since several nations we have very strong ties with, including your self, have already applied we see it as wise to apply ourselves. We hope our application is accepted, have a great day.

Re: Council of Air Powers

In recent years, Halberdgardia has developed a status as a somewhat well-known power on the international stage. We have developed relations of some kind with most of the nations joining this resurrected Council, and we look forward to furthering our relations more through this organization as well. In addition, our own air force, while perhaps not as renowned as, say, that of Praetonia, Sarzonia, or the Omzian Democratic Republic, we have expanded our air force greatly in recent years, culminating with the release of our first domestically-designed aircraft, which now serves proudly in our air force, and in the air forces of other nations as well. It is for the purpose of further developing relations with the members of this organization, as well as to promote aviation technology, that I, on behalf of the Halberdgardian State Department, formally petition for Halberdgardia's admittance into the Council of Air Powers.

Respectfully,
General Charles Henley

OOC. Goodness. I think the reason CAP keeps dying out is because we try to do too much. I think part of it is just having forums...I don't know, at least for me, too many posting/visiting/time-in-general responsibilities wouldn't work out well, and this effect would be compounded when you're dealing with a group of people.

Not sure what would be an effective way to deal with this. Maybe we can maintain an active list on NSwiki or something which everyone can refer to - and everyone knows that they belong to CAP, or something. So if CAP ever needs to do anything as a group ICly - how often would that be? - we can just call up all the members who can respond.

This way, we don't have to be like "Oh...CAP is deceased...we're all 'former members' now..." Presumably in IC the CAP would hold regular meetings and be active, but in terms of us having the capacity to roleplay everything it does...probably impractical.

I don't know, maybe I'm getting senile and irrational - what do y'all think?

Thanks Southeast Asia for link.

i'm not sure if i noted this thread first time round but now i look at it i do agre with zoogie, a forum might be a bit much essepcailly as the design side of things has pretty much been absorbed by the NS Draftroom.
perhaps as well as wiki lsit we could have a centralised thread for stuff perhaps not as nice as a full forum but easier to live with and remeber about.
