Purifying Doomsia (MT Open for Comments and RP)

Lord Roodor Antioch sat, peaceful and quiet, in front of the large gray camera. His gentle features, noble and soft, belied his personality so terribly that some questioned whether God blessed the truly evil, rather than the truly faithful.

A red light stuttered to life above the camera, causing a subtle frown to cross the Doomsian Emperor's face. But only for an instant.

With the point of the cameraman's finger, Lord Antioch moved into action, gently shuffling the large pile of papers that had accumulated on his desk in the past few weeks.

"Ladies and Gentlemen of the Civilized World, I am Roodor Antioch, Emperor and ruler of the Disputed Territories of Doomsia. I have come to you today to announce my people's step into the light of the world, and also to announce a new policy, one that I feel is absolutely necessary to ensure the advancement of Doomsia, and one that I would suggest that all other nations adopt."

Antioch cleared his throat gently and continued, completely unfazed by what he was about to say.

"You see, my nation is comprised of just over 550,000 people qualified as elderly, which comprises those of eighty years of age or more. I see this as a problem. These elders create food shortages, welfare drains, and other economic problems, while supplying almost nothing in return. This has lead to my newest policy:"

All those aged eighty years or older shall be immediately and unconditionally deported to any nations foolish enough to accept them. If these deportees are not given refuge within the next six (NS) months, they will be dealt with by the Doomsian Government.

"Thank you, that is all."

Message from the Imperialist Senate of Moses Land

Your government's sick disregard of your elders astonishes us. You should reward your senior citizen's for their lifetime of service to the state, not punish them for growing old.

By a unanimous vote of this senate and the approval of Consul Terrance Slewton, Moses Land officially demands Lord Roodor Antioch reconsider his decision.
Zanziik
30-11-2005, 03:07
Lord Antioch looked over the first condemnation, most likely of many more to come.

Did you honestly believe that I did not anticipate the threats of weak nations such as yourself? I shall not reconsider because there is nothing to reconsider. The elderly have given a life time for Doomsia, and they have now reached, just as all good things do, the expiration point. And when previously good food expires, we throw it out.

Official Imperial Response to Moses Land
Did you honestly believe that I did not anticipate the threats of weak nations such as yourself?

Our nation once cowered when larger nations barked. No longer. Our army is smaller then yours, but is already mobilized, and is made up of combat veterans. Is yours?

And when previously good food expires, we throw it out.

And when previously good governments expire, we throw them out. Consider this a warning Lord Antioch: threaten your own citizens or us and we will end the corruption of you and your cronies.
Zanziik
30-11-2005, 03:31
Preposterous

I see that you will not back down easily, which is a good trait. We shall do no such thing either. We, unlike you, shall not cower at the mere bark of a larger nation, and we, unlike you, shall emerge victorious from any and all quarrels. I will NOT back down, and you are foolish if you think I will.

At the steps of the old Parlimeant building (Renamed the Imperial Senate after the resent coup), Terrance Slewton, the dictator or savior of Moses Land (The label depended on who you asked and how scared they were to tell what they really thought) spoke.

"Citizen's of the Imperial State, weeks ago I said the government of any nation daring to call us foe would be forcefully replaced by a better one. That might happen sooner they we intended.

"Doomsia's curropt government has begun what is no less then mass murder. They take their nation's elders and deport or kill them, simply because of their age. Is that how a state should function?"

"No!" shouted the crowd.

"No!" agreeded Slewton. "Doomsia is led by a truelly evil man, one who would serve his nation by ceasing to exist. I have asked the Imperial Senate to cut off all normal diplomatic relations with Doomsia.

"I hope it will not come to war. In my heart I believe a peaceful solution can be found. But if Roodor Antioch will not back down from his evil acts, we will be ready to stop him.

"We are outnumbered, I won't deny that. But we are Moses Landers! No military no matter its size can overcome a Moses Lander one. And I have no doubt the international community will join us to combat this evil.

"One way or another, justice will return to Doomsia."
Zanziik
30-11-2005, 03:49
And now the fun begins. Yet another takes the stage against me.

Yet another foolish hypocritical attempt to defend the "rights" of the pox on society that are the elderly. We state our deadline again. All elders are to be deported to willing nations in six months time, or they will be dealt with.

Of Course, Amerath got involved.

"We are not sure why the country who is fighting Doomsia is putting up such defense.. why don't they just take the elderly themselves and get the matter over with if they feel the treatment is cruel.

Also, as official notice from Consular Kainah. We understand that things could get bad and would be willing to accept any eldarly who are currently fluent (or have rudimentary skills) in Amerathian Tongue.

Also, if Doomsia so requires it, we'll aide them in keeping this smaller nation in line."

Nuekallaya,
Thank you for standing alongside our nation and helping us stand up to this monster of a leader Doomsia has. While so many others have turned a blind eye or even approved of its action's, you have chosen to do a truly selfless act. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The Imperial Senate of Moses Land has authorized the use of force in this situation.

In Doomsia does not reverse its criminal policies immediately, there will be war.

"There simply is no way any nation should tolerate this.” the Consul said today.

"Even with Moses Lands ships, all the seniors would never get out in time. We'd be sentencing thousands to murder at the hands of maybe their own children and grandchildren."

When asked about the strategy for victory in the event of a war, the defense minister said, "Destroy their army. We might be smaller, but we have no doubt the world will intervene our side."

"We also believe Doomsa's people will help us." Minister Fro Kloi continued, "I doubt they want their parents and grandparents deported or exterminated."

Official Diplomatic Communique
From: The Office of Foreign Secretary Stephanie March [Federated Union of Democratic Colonies]
To: The Office of Lord Roodor Antioch [The Divided Territories of Doomsia]
To: The Imperialist Senate of Moses Land [The Imperial State of Moses Land]

The Democratic Colonies is most concerned by this recent outbreak of war, and wishes to prevent it for the safety and security of all involved. While the situation is difficult, peace remains an attainable and worthy goal.

The Democratic Colonies is prepared to offer a comprehensive peace plan that is designed to meet the needs of all parties involved.

Colonial Peace Plan - Stages One Through Four

Stage One - The Colonial Sixth Fleet will be dispatched to the area of currently heightened tensions, where it will serve to prevent the outbreak of violence between all parties.

Stage Two - A fleet of 80 [Eighty] unarmed passenger vessels, crewed by unarmed non-combatants, will enter the territorial waters of the Disputed Territories of Doomsia.

Stage Three - Under the supervision of the Doomsian Navy, these unarmed vessels will take aboard the elderly persons of Doomsia.

Stage Four - The unarmed transports will transfer the elderly persons of Doomsia into the custody of Moses Land, either by transporting the persons to a port of Moses Land, or by moving the persons onto vessels of Moses Land while in international waters.

The unarmed transports will continue in thier operations until all designated persons have been removed from Doomsia.

It is the hope of the Democratic Colonies that all involved parties will agree to this peace plan, and thus avoid any unneeded bloodshed.

To the Democratic Colonies

Moses Land deeply wishes it could adopt your proposal. Nevertheless, even though it might prevent war and murder for now, what about the next time someone grows old? Can either of us afford to rescue and take in every Doomsian who becomes a senior? I wish we could, but Doomsia has a small point: seniors are hard to take care of economic wise. Moses Land simply cannot afford to take care of our seniors, the present refugees, and any future ones that might appear.

We do thank you for your efforts to resolve this conflict peacefully. However, unless a last-minute compromise happens, war cannot be averted.

This treaty, unfortunately is in no way acceptable to me. I appreciate the gesture of the treaty, but I will in no way have any of my citizens, be they deported or otherwise, enter into an area that is considered hostile. Thank you.

Your declaration of war is laughable. Doomsian soldiers are being prepared to face you "invasion" as we speak, and those who have pledged their support to my cause will be notified immediately. Lets see how your veterans fare.

We find your loyalty laughable. Your attempts to intimidate the people of Doomsia into submission were rendered completely moot when you officially announced the fact that your backbone was stolen in the last war. I am done with you.

The vast Imperial fleets began mobilizing. Many of the ships and submarines came from Neoma, where they had just finished duty; many more out of Imperial ports, the second major fleet to leave Imperial waters after the departing of another, far vaster fleet for Ankhmet. Banduria was steadfast alongside its allies, and this would be no exception.

On the surface it seemed as though both fleets were heading for Doomsia -- or even as though it was just one huge fleet. But soon enough they would part ways.

"We will be deploying the 2nd carrier battlegroup and a air regiment of Tu22RT Stratigic Bombers and alot of CM-1 antiship cruise missiles* can be flown into Doomsian airbases if nessecary, those should make mincemeat out of any naval thing the Moses Landers can throw at us."
End Message

OOC2:The Tu-22RT is the Red Tidean version of the Tu-22M. It can carry more missiles/bombs, has a longer range, more powerful engines, and modern electronics, there are 50 planes in a air regiment. The CM-1 is a mach 4, sea skimming, antiship cruise missile with a 1 ton warhead filled with Semtex, primarily used by the Tu-22RT(4 missiles per plane). Their high speeds and sea skimming makes it hard to hit with CIWS and other ship based, anti-missile systems, while their powerful warhead can annhilate anything short of a superdreadnought. Composition of the carrier battlegroup coming soon.

Doomsia Restates Deadline for Deportation of Elderly

Emperor Roodor Antioch has again stated today that all elders are to be deported peacefully within six months (NS, tomorrow RL), or they shall be dealt with by the Doomsia Government. He made this statement earlier today:

I will again show mercy by extending the deadline for the deportation. All those of eighty years or more will soon be gathered together by the military, and if none wish to accept them, I shall authorize their immediate extermination. I will allow NO ships of war to enter my waters, and no Moses Landian ships shall be seen in a Doomsian ships presence without the pretexts of war. I truly hope that there is a nation out there foolish enough to accept the elders, for if not, they will be dealt with.

"Terrance, what have we done?"

Slewton turned to James Stewert, his predecessor and successor as general-in-chief and the only man alive who could question Slewton, much less call him by his first name.

"Terrance, we have nation's much bigger then us supporting Doomsia, which I should mention is about twice as large as us! The international community doesn’t seem to care about intervening on our side."

"So we are out numbered James. No matter. Numbers mean nothing next to raw skill."

"Terrance, we'd be fighting on the enemies home ground against vastly superior numbers. No general, not even Fredrick the Great or Caesar could win this. And lets admit to ourselves we are no Fredrick of Caesars."

Slewton sat silently for a moment. Stewert was right. The strategy they had come up with had been full of ifs and maybes instead of a clear path to victory.

"So this is it then." The Consul finally spoke. "We tell the world we were just kidding when we declared war? Say 'sorry 'bout that Doomsia, we didn't mean it? Go ahead slaughter your elders?' Is that what we do?"

"Terrance, we are the two people in this nation who know the most about military. If we can't see a way to win, who can?"

God damn him, he's right Slewton thought.

"James, we aren't going to win, but we aren't losing either. One battle. One victory. All we need is to beat them once. It might not have any strategic gain, it might even be a pyrrhic victory, it doesn’t matter. We just have to prove just once that we can beat a force larger then us."

"And after that?"

"We make peace. We'll have our reputation intact at least."

"What if they refuse?"

"What can they do? Invade us? Even with their huge force, we have the land well defended. They can't win."

"This plan has holes a giant can fit through."

"Its a plan General. Right now that's what matters."

IC: A single sattelite up in the Exosphere, Mid Earth Orbit, recieved a signal. The sattelite consisted of two solar panels and a shielded main body which was shielded so it could survive a fall through the atmosphere completely intact. Inside the sattelites main body was a targetting computer, powered by the solar panels, a signal reciever, several tons of Semtex, and a sensor to detect when the sattelite hit the ground. Attached to the main body were rocket boosters and fuel tanks to fuel them. this was a FS-1 Suicide Sattelite, nicknamed 'Falling Star'. There were a 5 'Falling Stars' with 15 megaton nuclear bombs on board, but this was not one of them.

This 'Falling Star' was the closest one to Moses Land. It recieved a transmission and targetting coordinates. The targetting computer immediatly began to search through its database for the coordinates and found them, it was a major naval base in Moses Land. The rocket boosters let up, propelling the sattelite over its target, then the booster on the back fired, throwing the sattelite out of its orbit and putting it at mercy of the Earths gravity.

The sattelite began to speed up, faster, faster, faster. It hurtled through the air, it was a mere 30 seconds and already it was moving at mach 4, and going faster. When it reached mach 6, hypersonic speeds, the solar panels were ripped off, powering down its targetting computer, it had done its job anyways.

The sattelite was moving at tremendous speeds at 2.5 minutes into its fall, mach 12, far too fast for a missile to intercept. By now it would appear on sensors such as RADAR, LADAR, and(especially) Infra-Red. another 2.5 minutes later, the sattelite hit the ground moving at mach 20.

Despite initial glossing over the designs, the sattelites primary method of destruction was NOT the explosives on board, these were just to add an extra punch. Instead its primary means of destruction would be kinetic energy. The massive kinetic energy triggered by the impact would be sufficient to wipe out the naval base. It was the first 'shot' if you will, of the war.

OOC: Casualties please.

New Tehran Navle Yards (Or what remains of them)

"Those bastards!" Ensign Lelan Cohen screamed as the paramedics carried her away. She had reason to be angry: she had lost her ship, her friends, and her left leg.

She was just one of the tens of thousands of casualties. New Tehran had been a major base (OOC: think Pearl Harbor in 1941) and called "the fortress of Moses Land." since no foe had ever gotten close to capturing it, much less destroying it. Now though...

"Hold on! I'm coming!" Commander Frankl, first officer of what had been the battleship MLS Freedom yelled after hearing the screams of a trapped sailor on the ships ruined bridge. Passing Vice Admiral Hansley's shredded corpse and both of Captain Anderston's arms (Frankl prayed the rest of the Captain would make it), Frankl tried to pull the bleeding screaming sailor out. He wouldn't budge.

"Give me strength Moses." Frankl said quietly, then pulled. The trapped seaman began to move... and then stopped.

"Moses, give me the strength to save this man and to avenge those lost today." Frankl prayed once more. This time he freed the seaman.

As he carried out the man (he was still screaming. Frankl didn't think the sailor even realized what he was doing) Frankl said, "We will show those murderers what war is truly like"

Newspaper article the day after the attack

Casualties at New Tehran: 4,087 military personnel killed, wounded, or missing 509 civilians killed, wounded, or missing.

Ships damaged beyond repair: 4 Battleships, 6 destroyers, 3 subs, and 1 carrier.

Ships damaged severely: 2 Battleships, 7 destroyers, 7 subs, and 2 carriers.

OOC: Actualy cloning is quite capable (stem cell research would allow for exact replica fetuses to be made, which is the technique my people used, I don't know if that's technicly cloning but if you have a better name I'm willing to change it) it's the speed aging that's harder. Also the armor they use are basicly bulletproof vests that cover the entired body with fiberplast on surronding it, plus they rarely travel in more then 1 group (12 troops) and are mainly special forces, as the armor would cost too much for standard infantry, and since they've been bred for war they're at a constant stance of readiness. However they tend to work poorly in groups of squads. But in the point, near the modern tech level, the AIAR-12 is basicly a more powerful M-16 with a gernade launcher, models such as that were used in Vietnam, the body armor is made from the same stuff the modern bullet proof vests are made from, except stretched all around the body for extra protection, and the visor is a camera with switchable night vision, infer-red, and regular vision. Problems do come with the armor, like the fact that if the camera's hit, even though the lens is fiberplast, it will shatter the camera's internal systems blinding the solider, meaning to continue they'd need to take the helmet off and if they were hit in the face there's probly a sniper around. In other words the camera is very sensitive and can't be repaired in the feild. If this doesn't make enough sense I'll just make them regular special corps, they all wouldn't have been deployed anyway.

IC: A Chinook landed in a feild, twelve green armored soliders jumped out, and the copter took off again. One wearing a symbol on his shoulder turned to the men. "192, 283, 674, and 429, scout the area for the objective, everyone else get into the trees and help me set up a camp!"

All over the nation of Doomsia this was the scene, "clones" hiding in wait for the orders to attack. This was their field test. Now most of the clones were only 27 and yet to see real combat, sure they got A and S ranks in testing, but how would they fair against real opponents. The eyes of their nation were watching.

OOC: The OOC explanation is fine, but the IC post... I dont think there is a realistic chance of infiltrating that many Special Forces into the country without being shot at. A transport plane/copter is an easy target for fighters and SAMs. Anyways...

IC: Unfortunantly for Moses Land, the Red Tidean DID have a ballistic missile defence network, it was mainly designed to intercept ballistic missiles while they exited the atmosphere, but it also had ground based, specially designed Anti-Ballistic Missile Missiles(ABMMs). But as there were only two missiles, those were not needed.

The heat 'bloom' from the Moses Landers Missiles was easily detected via Red Tidean EAW sattelites, these promptly began guessing the trajectories and established a probable location of impact. In this case it was the Naval Academy at the Red Tidean city of Crig. This information was finished and sent mere seconds after the launch bloom was detected. The technicians manning the control panels at Red Tidean Missile Command noted the trajectories and gave the go-ahead for the interception of the missiles, this took about 50 seconds after recieving the message.

Three LS-21 Anti-Missile/Sattelite Laser Sattelites on geo-stationary orbit locked onto the two missiles and fired, the lasers hit the unshielded section of the missiles carrying the booster fuel, the resulting explosions of the two missiles could be seen from the ground, it wouldnt be long until the debris from the rockets began to rain back down on the very people who launched it.

"ABMMs. Clever." Slewton said. "Now why the F**k do we not have anything like that????!!!!!!"

"We spent all missile related research on XU3." Stewert told him calmly.

"Well, what’s the point of XU3 anymore!?" the consul said angrily "Those bastards can just shoot them down!"

"Sir, they can shoot two missiles down. We should launch more. I recommend 10 this time at their navel academy."

"Isn't that over kill?" one of Slewton's aides asked.

"Yes, but it will give us a chance to see how many missiles that defense system can handle. At least one will certainly get through. Probably more."

"Fine do it!" Slewton yelled. "Let them have it for what they did to New Tehran and Ragenlif."

No one not even Slewton's old friend Stewert wanted to remind the enraged consul that the circumstances of Ragenlif's damage wasn't entirely Red Tide2's fault: after all it had been Moses Land's missiles that had backfired and killed 500 civilians.

"Launch the missiles. General, lets see Dr. Skewn." the consul said.

Stewert gulped a little. He really didn't want to see the death doctor.

General Vanguard woke up from a heavy sleep. He soon ran downstairs and got the breif.
"okay okay! MosesLand just got its missles blown to bits and we have premission to engange from the CIC."
He and picked up a telephone, his voice would be recorded on paper and sent to all the people he meant to send it to.
" All Air Force planes begin CAP patrols around Major cities and bases. Nuclear Forces on full-alert. Air-defense System on full alert. Defcom one ladies and gents.
"Sir the Super-computer has finsihed the Calculation"
The Computer had trianglated the postion of the ABDL that had shot down Moses's rockets.

A Missle blasted out of the Silo. It soon was in the upper atmosphere, then inner space, then outer. Finnaly both missles found the orbiting ABDL and exploded.
-Back at Red Moutain Air base-
"Lets wait for their reply" said Vanguard.
"Yes Sir, Any orders"
"Yeah, they have missles too, if they launch those, agnist more of Moses's rockets, find where they are."
"Yes sir!" Lockham had a good feeling that the enemy silos wouldnt make another launch ever again if they tried to intercept Mose's new rockets.

Commander Duane Frankle stopped eating his lunch to listen to what the captain had to say over the intercom.

"Moments ago we received word that The PeoplesFreedom has entered the war on our side. Ho do you all like that?"

For a second the mess was quite. Then it burst into cheers.

Frankle couldn't entirely hear what the captain said next, as he was quieting down the sailors. Only a little while ago I would be yelling right along with them.
Frankle thought.

Finally he heard the captains words "...hitting the enemy hard, so we will to. We are sending the fleet in. We are outnumbered by a large margin, but it won't make a difference in the end: we plan to catch them with their pants down. Get to alert status. Commander Frankle to the bridge."

IC:"We have more missile launches, there appear to be twelve of them, some of them are from these guys, the Peoples Freedom." The technician observed as he watched the launch blooms.

"How many sattelites do we have in range?" The senior officer, which was a Major General, asked.

"Five sir, we should e able to take every single one of them out."

"Do it." The Major General said.

The lasers began to blow the missiles out of the sky, one by one the fuel tanks exploded. First shots wiped out half the missiles, one of them being one of the two peoples Freedom Missiles, the second shots killed 4 more off. The third shot blew the remaining two out of the air.

OOC:Cruise Missiles are incapable of hitting my sattelites, as they lack the range to reach the Exo-Sphere, you would have to use an Anti-Sattelite Missile, my SL-21s can easily shoot down your Anti-Sattlite Missiles as they would be moving at just mach-4 at the MAXIMUM when leaving the atmosphere. This is due to the Earths gravitational pull. My sattelites are designed to intercept missiles while they are exiting the atmosphere. Finally, countermeasures are useless, as your missiles rocket enigines create an enormous heat signature. I will edit my message soon.

I am ignoring that for the following reasons:

1: You stated casualties for the player you were attacking, in nationstates you cannot do that unless your defending against missile attacks.

2: Doomsia does NOT have a program similar to Falling Star. Even if you succeeded in dropping the sattelites, they would burn up in the atmosphere due to lack of shielding.

The two Expeditionary Fleets were making their way towards Doomsia swiftly—the ships close enough together to be called a fleet, but far enough apart to require nothing short of a tactical nuclear weapon to destroy each one. Sunlight glinted off the bow of the Monarch-class Super Dreadnaught, Savarticus, part of the 6th Fleet, as its commander, Field General Estarus, relaxed on deck, half watching the sea sliced away in front of the great ship, and the rings of other ships surrounding it.

Estarus was the son of Emperor Lucius I, the younger son; he had chosen to become a general and lead four legions of the Imperial Army rather than go into politics, like his older brother Arius. He had an easy, confident look in his eye, but nobody ever mistook that for overconfidence; Estarus was known as a cautious leader, and thus an invaluable one.

As he sat there, preparing his campaign in his mind, one of his aides tapped him on the shoulder.

"My Lord, we are within two hours of Doomsian waters."

Estarus nodded absently. "Prepare the entire sixth fleet. We're breaking away to the south towards Moses Land."

The fleets began to separate out here. At first to satellite spy systems it would appear as though the two Imperial fleets were simply heading for different ports to dock at in Doomsia. They might notice the vast, sinister-looking black ships and transport planes following the second fleet, in the innermost ring surrounded by combat ships, but they would have no idea of their purpose. Yet.

Then the entire 6th fleet began making its way along the Doomsian coast, towards Moses Land...

It had yet to launch any attacks, so if the enemy attacked first, they would be firing upon a fleet in international waters that might have nothing whatever to do with the enemy...

A random Air Base in Doomsia...

The first Tu-22RT Strategic Bomber touched down and began to taxi. The next plane down was a giant K-10 Transport Plane, carrying 8 CM-1 anti-ship cruise missiles. A ton of cargo aircraft had to be diverted to carry all of the cruise missiles, 8 missiles would only be enough to fill only two Tu-22s, given that the Red Tidean Aviation Command wanted enough missiles to fill up the entire Air Regiment 4 times over, it would require ALOT of coming and going.

Simultaneously, a Red Tidean RORSAT(Radar Ocean Reconniasance Sattelite) passed over the ocean the Moses Landers fleet was in. The radar transciever began bouncing radar waves off the ocean surface. It quickly identified the Moses Lander Fleet.

Minutes later a message was sent to the Bandurian and Doomsian Fleets.

>>> Message to Red Tidean forces:

We thank you for your aid, but as we had already deployed a number of spy UAVs to the area, we already knew of the presence of this fleet and we are preparing to destroy it as we speak.

~ Prince-Archon Estarus Krytanzes, Field General <<<

The reports had filed through to Estarus moments before the Red Tidean message came in. The presence of a fleet of ships, just a few hundred kilometers ahead and closing fast, changed everything. Estarus knew he had to act fast while he still had the advantage of range.

He gave his orders and the seventy-two Lernea-class submarines traveling just below the surface under his fleet prepared to launch the deadly torpedoes, nicknamed 'hull-busters'. From the submarines, an initial wave of 144 torpedoes burst from the tubes and immediately descended into the depths, traveling out of most SONAR reach. As they approached the enemy fleet, the engines slowed down and an auxiliary engine kicked in, causing the torpedoes to rotate and fire upwards into the hull of the ships, sinking them. The tungsten core tips would blast the hull's metal apart, and the explosives would do the rest. Two of the guided torpedoes could take out most combat ships; three could deal with a superdreadnaught.

Meanwhile, the six 27" guns aboard the Savarticus blazed into life, preparing to launch their huge shells into the enemy fleet within moments, but before they fired the first wave, the anti-ship Hellsteeth missile cells and launchers aboard the other combat ships in the fleet fired up, preparing to fire upon the enemy ships within moments.

Moses Land would suffer long and hard for being foolish enough to challenge Doomsia's sovereignty...

Grey HousePresident Michael Blum shook his head. It was another all-too-typical brush-fire war: a ridiculous country led by an overdressed evil genius had declared an absurdly vicious policy aimed at exterminating some minority group within his borders. Some poor sap of a nation with an overblown sense of morality – not to mention its own importance – had declared war on the evildoers, only to find, much to its surprise, that the nations of the world were more eager to defend a government’s right to snuff out the lives of its citizens than to defend the sacred right of those citizens to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness - presumeably because they wished to secure the right to commit such atrocities themselves - and now the good guys were going to get their chops handed to them.

Oh, well, he thought. It’s too late to save Moses Land from the consequences of their own folly. But it’s not too late to save those Doomsian seniors from execution – and maybe tweak the Doomsian government’s nose just a little in the process.

“Edith,” the President said to his Secretary of State, “How many seniors did Doomsia say that it had?”

“550,000,” replied Secretary of State Edith Mayenne.

“And we have how many?” Michael Blum asked rhetorically. He already knew the answer.

“Over 300 million, Mr. President,” she replied. “But you already knew that.”

He smiled. “Yes, I did. How many seniors would we have to bring out of Doomsia each day to meet that six month deadline?”

“Just over 3,000 a day, Mr. President,” she replied.

“That’s just – what? – 7 or 8 jumbo jets a day?” Blum said, looking at the ceiling as he calculated out the number.

“That’s about the size of it. We could probably get them out sooner, but that rate would do,” Mayenne replied.

“Just over 1,200 flights,” he mused. “We could do that.”Six Hours Later“The United States of Allemande,” announced Secretary of State Edith Mayenne, “Will generously accept all 550,000 Doomsian seniors, along with all future citizens exiled from Doomsia due to their age. These refugees may settle here, or move to other countries if they wish. Furthermore, we will gladly extend full rights of citizenship not only to these victims of age discrimination, but to all of their descendants, if they wish it.”

Gasps rippled through the audience. “That’s right,” the Secretary of State continued, “Any Doomsian citizen whose ancestors are being cruelly exiled from their homeland may come along with them to enjoy a free life in a free country – Allemande – or anywhere else in the world they wish to go. Because every Doomsian citizen knows that someday, if he or she lives long enough, it will be their turn to be cast from the shores of the land of their birth by a government that feels no gratitude for their past sacrifices.”

“Furthermore, because the Doomsian government will almost certainly want these people to leave behind their hard-won savings,” Edith Mayenne continued, “We are henceforth suspending any requirement by Allemander banks or financial institutions to report on the holdings of any Doomsian citizen or to surrender the assets of Doomsian citizens to the Doomsian government for any reason. That way,” she finished with a smug expression on her face, “Doomsian exiles can look forward to taking their hard-won earnings with them once they have made their flight to freedom.”Somewhere in Doomsia“Albert,” said Roxanne, “I don’t want to stay here if my mother is going to be sent away.”

Albert cupped his wife’s head lovingly. “Sweetheart, this is the law. What are we to do?”

“We can go with her,” suggested his wife.

“And give up everything?” asked her husband. “The company? Our stock holdings? I understand your feelings, but…”

“Not now,” offered Roxanne. “Not just yet. But we could divert our holdings into Allemander accounts – slowly, so as not to arouse suspicion. Besides,” she said with a look of sadness in her eyes. “Someday, it will be our turn.”OOC: Can you say “capital flight”?

The Department of Defence“You know, this is the second time we’ve found ourselves on the opposite end of things from Red Tide2,” remarked General Duprais, Army Chief of Staff and Chairman of the Joint Planning Board. “That ABM system they have up there in GEO is a real pain in the _ss.”

“That it is,” replied Admiral Etainne, Chief of Naval Operations. “So how would we go about taking it down?” He paused for a minute, and then realising that the civilian members of the board – especially the Undersecretary of Commerce - were looking at him with some concern, he added, “Hypothetically, of course.”

General Duprais smiled. “Well – hypothetically, of course – they’re stationery targets, relative to everything else in GEO, of course. To get at them, you could have a kill vehicle climb towards them using a GTO, but the problem with that is the fact that you’d be decelerating as you approached the target, even if your transfer orbit was actually designed to achieve apogee at a higher altitude – in other words, even if it wasn’t strictly a GTO.”

“I’m sorry,” said the Undersecretary of the Interior, “But what are all these acronyms? GEO? GTO?”

“Geosynchronous Earth Orbit – GEO – is that altitude at which as satellite appears to be a fixed point in the sky, or – alternately – appears to constantly remain above the same point on Earth,” began Admiral Etienne patiently. “Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit is an orbit that a space vehicle temporarily assumes to pass from LEO – Low Earth Orbit – to GEO; it’s an orbit whose perigee – closest point of approach to Earth – is at the altitude of LEO and whose apogee – highest ascent from Earth – is at the altitude of GEO.”

“The problem is that objects decelerate as they travel further and further from the Earth, due to gravity – thus a kill vehicle making its final approach to GEO will be a very easy target to hit,” finished General Duprais.

“Not to mention the fact that it will be in the line of sight of almost every defence satellite in the whole d_mn_d constellation,” added Admiral Etainne. “Which would, in the case of Red Tide2, be something like 35 satellites.”

“Oh,” said the Undersecretary of the Interior. “So you’re saying that they can’t be shot down.”

“Well, not on the spur of the moment,” answered the Admiral. Then he smiled. “But if we were to foresee a future war with Red Tide2 and prepare for that war well in advance - now, that would be an entirely different matter.”
OOC: Just a little contingency planning for the future. We faced off against Red Tide2 in the First Torontian Crisis, and they’ve toyed with the idea of staging a commando raid to free Jack Kaufmann (yes, the Kaufmann trial will be resuming soon now that my health and personal situation are better); this is the third time we’ve thumbed our noses at one of Red Tide2’s allies. Sooner or later, our interests will probably collide, so our military men are simply thinking the unthinkable, if you will. Not that we would pick a fight with a country twice our size, but stuff happens...
Red Tide2

OOC:Yeah... I know what you mean. But I want to share a little something with you... those sattelites are not just for taking down ballistic/anti-sattelite missiles, they can also target OTHER sattelites with those lasers. Of course, to hit another sattelite that is pretty far away, they have to expend fuel on their rocket boosters. However, if the other sattelite gets close enough(I say a theoretical range of 60 miles, but more likely 45-50 miles) then the laser sat does not have to expend rocket fuel in order to engage. There is a way to take them down at least temporarily, maybe permenantly, it would require some computer wizzes, an internet connection, and alot of luck. But you could hack into the sattelites targetting system and power them down temporarily, or(if you were EXTREMELY lucky) hack into the sattelite booster controls and send it hurtling into the Earths atmosphere, of course the former is alot easier then the latter, but both are pretty difficult, do-able, but difficult.

"Terrance, this has gone on long enough."

Slewton turned to Stewert in rage.

"Long enough? This fight hasn’t even begun yet! The XU project will turn the tide!"

"All it will do is increase the death count. We can't win; we can't even get a stalemate. Our reputation is crushed, our cities and bases attacked, and our fleet's on the edge of death. Its over."

Slewton looked over at his friend. Why did I allow this coward to be my commander-in-chief?

"The project can succeed! We can hurt them!"

"A small-pox missile can't win us the war Terrance."

Before neither man had aloud mentioned what XU was. It was simply too horrible to talk about. The idea of using smallpox on anyone...

"Terrance its over. We lost. We were idiots to gamble on this, and now we have to pay the price."

Slewton looked at Stewert in new eyes.

"Get out! I'll replace you with a true general!"

Stewert sadly turned to leave... then pulled out a gun.

Slewton did not know it was possible for Stewert to betray him. They had introduced each other’s wives for Moses sake... Stewert was the only man that Slewton met with without bodyguards...

"James, how could you betray me?" Slewton asked sadly.

"How could you betray Moses Land?" Stewert answered in an equally sad voice. "End the war now."

"Or you'll kill me? You won't do that. I wound end the war until we've won. We both know that."

"No." Then Stewert shot the consul.

Message from Moses Land to all nations involved in the conflict

We had little sense entering this war. We must have sense leaving it.

Moses Land officially surrenders. All forces have been ordered to defensive measures only and to return home.

We acknowledge we alone are responsible for this war.

President,

OOC: This smallpox isn't entirely the same one that vaccines work for. Its been mutated a bit as part of the project. I believe that is possible with MT. (If not just ignore it. Wars probably over for us.)

Complete Surrender of Moses Landian Forces!

In an official statement today, Interim President James Stewart of the Restored Republic of Moses Land announced that with the death of the late Moses Land President Terrence Slewton, the war in Moses Land has ended! President Stewart had this to say:

"We had little sense entering this war. We must have sense leaving it.

Moses Land officially surrenders. All forces have been ordered to defensive measures only and to return home.

We acknowledge we alone are responsible for this war."

Mass celebrations have taken place in Doomsia's major cities today as one half of the war has been won.

Emperor Roodor Antioch announced today that this cowardly surrender by Moses Land allows the forces of the alliance to focus more heavily upon the other aggressors of this war, namely the nation The PeoplesFreedom.

IC:Official Reply From Red Tide Goverment
"We accept your cease fire... for now, perhaps negotiations for a permanent peace can ensue. Our forces will remain on station, just incase."
End Message

The last Tu-22 had gotten in a few hours ago, they had been fueled and armed and were ready for a strike against the enemy fleet when the news of the cease fire got in. The Tu-22s stepped down a bit, but they were still on a hightened stat of alert.

Cease-Fire Signed, War "Won!"

With the signing of a cease-fire agreement with The PeoplesFreedom, the war and aggression against Doomsia and her allies, Banduria and Red Tide, has been officially declared as "won!" by ranking officials in the Doomsian Government. Peace talks are to follow, but they are merely a formality now as the allies have been given the right to debate the terms of these treaties. Emperor Antioch has not made an official statement as of yet.

For the second time in the war, Frankl was on a ruined bridge.

The captain’s plan had been a colossal failure. The enemy had been ready and waiting. 10 destroyers had been sunk, 5 subs lost, the Conrova on the verge of death...

And Frankl's anger burned hotter then the fires engulfing the captain’s body.

Why didn't we win?! He asked himself, Moses, and any deity that might be listening.

We had right on our side! Yet, we didn't have a chance to even attack them on land! No victories... only death

Frankl had to push those thoughts aside. He was in command of the Conrova as it made its way home.

Those idiots ruined the war! We all trusted Slewton, and he F**ks up! And now Stewert is president?!

Anger was what kept Frankl focused as the ship made its humiliating journey home.

"And that's it?"

The Bandurian fleet was disappointed. They had barely started with the enemy when they surrendered. They could always not accept the surrender... but that was dishonorable. Angrily, the Bandurian fleet simply ground to a halt, there in the middle of the ocean, and awaited orders. Just in case the surrender had been a bluff.

The forces would help defend Doomsia in any case...

"Stewert is a coward! We are not cowards men off the Imperial State!"

With those words, former defense minister Fro Kloi began a riot.

It wasn’t especially hard to do. After all, even though it was clear the war was lost from day one, the people couldn't accept it. They had believed in Slewton. Now that he was dead, they wanted blood.

"Get back!" Officer Dantary said before being shot by another policeman. The riot had spread through out the police and military.

Stewert watches sadly on the TV in the hidden bunker. Only a decade ago Moses Land fought overseas in a bloody civil war, one that ended in a stalemate. The shock of the wars end began a civil war in Moses Land. Could the Doomisa war start a civil one?

Stewert prayed not. But recently his prayers tended not to be answered.

Strangely enough, we too prefer honourable ground combat to missile warfare. But we at least have the good sense to recognize that missiles are the key to winning wars these days. Believe me, no one was more eager than us to release the Fanatics upon your nation and follow ourselves when their work was done, burning and razing it to the ground until it was nothing but a page in a history book.

Prince-Archon Estarus
Field General of the 4th Legion Army

It was rare that a humourous international diplomatic message was sent out, but the Emperor's son was known for his eccentric and sardonic sense of humor. In fact, both Estarus and the more pensive Arius were so afflicted, much like their moody, brooding father, still mourning the loss of a beloved wife fifteen years before...

"So it's ready?" asked Soverign Zathuri.
"Yes sir, we stepped up domestic production and hired a large number of foreign companies to add to our production. Now we are ready." responded his neohue, Admaral Zathuri.
"Too bad the fightings over, well let's see it"
Two hours later Soverign Zathuri stood on the deck of the Lady Zoe, and looked out at the newly formed Nuekallayan 3rd Fleet. "I think it's time to send Doomsia a message" he said.
