(OOC: I would like to know if this is too powerful, or if the cost balanced it out? Thanks)

The Kattor Senate is in deep argument over a new Stealth Air Superiority Fighter. A third of the senate beleives the current military budget of 60 billion USD (OOC: modified from surplus on NSeconomy) is high enough already. Another third beleives that Kattor spends too much on military, and yet another belives we spend too little. Never the less the design has been approved, though the prototype can not yet be built because of the cost. For now the plans sit there un-used, til the day the military budget makes room for them.

(OOC: Well, I'm not the greatest expert around, but I'd be a little nervous about having a subsonic air superiority fighter. That and the line drawing make me think that it owes something to the real "stealth fighter", which is actually a bomber, just a smaller one than the archetypal stealth bomber. Beside that, it appears to weigh... rather a lot! You're not wrong about the cost being high, but the ceiling is certainly not. At the moment it has a limited chance of intercepting a helicopter, let alone maintaining air superiority against jets flying three times faster ten times higher, and with greater agility than something that weighs as much as a small ship.

I hope this doesn't sound like I'm being aggressive, by the way. Like I say, I'm not the greatest expert, but I think maybe a bit more research is required before going ahead with this, just yet :) I'm sure others will chip in, shortly.)

(OOC: Thanks for the input, added afew 1000 feet on to the ceiling. Also about the weight, remember this thing has 10 engines that have a thrust of about 17.3k which is one of the reasons for the low speed, and if someone can reconmend an engine I'd appreicate it)

(OOC: Hm. I've only just realised that it has... 130 missile launchers? And ten engines? Hm. Well, I don't know what to say, then. I... think it might be a ridiculous idea. Someone else is going to have several normal, faster, more agile, high-altitude fighters for every one of these, and is probably only going to need one of those to kill this thing. Ten engines are going to guzzle fuel like crazy, aren't they? Not much good for staying up and maintaining air superiority. Plus, 5,400ft is nothing... planes could beat that eighty years ago. I really think that you should just build a... normal sort of fighter! This appears to be an all-your-eggs-in-one-basket sort of situation, and the basket has a bullseye on it. Build a scaled-down version that's twice as fast, costs four times less, is easier to maintain and repair, is more agile, flies ten times higher, has a longer unrefueled range, and has a lower radar cross section and infra-red signature.
Still, as they say, it is your funeral, after all, so you're allowed to do whatever you like, I suppose, and don't let me ruin it!)

(OOC: I beleive your right, I can still get a fighter down something like this, I found a 200k thrust engine, so I should be able to revamp it pretty well, the reason for it's bulk is because I couldn't find a good enough engine)

After the rejection of the DH-217 the Kattor Senate order a new Adivsor of Defence, General Trace Zaleon, he ordered the creation of a cheap superiority fighter with stealth capabilities that could be mass produced. The result was the HK-218 and, after a quick budget increase to the defensive department (now 70billion USD budget) the unit is now starting it's construction, with a surplus in the military budget of over 10billion USD the first test craft should roll off the line next month
