For years the Czardaian defense forces have struggled to stay together on a minimal budget, trying hard—and rarely succeeding—in keeping all of the planes in the air, ships on the ground, and special projects like CAMERA operational. However, recently that all changed.
According to the recently released 3rd Quarter Economic Report (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=454853), Czardas's GDP and budget increased twofold during the third quarter of 2011, which resulted in a massive increase in all areas of government spending—including national defense. The Department, for so long in debt, suddenly found itself with a surplus of nearly $2.5 trillion—that after the allocation of funds for the army, air force, navy, home defense, and special forces.
The answer was fairly obvious. Some of the money would be spent on building new aircraft for the Czardaian Air Force, but the vast majority would be directed into rebuilding the navy.
As some may know, Czardas has a very small or almost nonexistent navy, with only two major surface fleets (of 48 and 38 ships respectively) and only one major subsurface fleet (72 submarines). Shipyards are already working on two Super Dreadnaughts commissioned from Czardaian allies in The Silver Sky, and more shipyards—primarily those at the port cities of Mariosz and Palma—will be used to build new ships or upgrade more existing ones.
The Czardaian Department of Defense also sent out an open message to any nations or corporations in the area for the sale of new naval craft. All funds will be wired immediately, or in installments if the money is not readily available.
With the further increase in Czardas's economy, especially the growing arms manufacturing sector under Skyian management, the likelihood of more money being allocated to defense over this time is ever increasing....
