I am new to this so explain what i am doing wrong.

As the new nation of The Rohan States was created there was plot for many states to secede. Now the King of The Commonwealth of The Rohan States, Sean Myhre II has declared war on the traitors of the Commonwealth. The Commonwealth of The Rohan States is calling for financial aid as well as troops to stop this civil war.
The States of Alberta, the military power house and the state of New Poppe have seceded from the The Commonwealth of The Rohan States. And now call themselves the Union of Independant States. They lie south of the Rohan States Capital. The Royal Army is only 300,000 strong with aiding in another civil war. 5,000 CF-18 fighters, 2,000 Assult Helios, and 10,000 m1 abrams main battle tanks are all the Royal Army has. The Union has aprox. 800,000 men, 7,000 F-16 Fighting Falcons, and 75,000 centron tanks. Of the 800,000 men, 100,000 are devoted paratroopers. The Rebal are are hard trained and equiped mercs from terrorist groups around the globe.

The Union has aprox. 1,000,000 men, 45,000 F-16 Fighting Falcons, and 75,000 centron tanks. Of the 1,000,000 men, 100,000 are devoted paratroopers.

OOC: well all i see wrong are the crazy numbers...i have not looked at your nation but i'm guessing its about a 5 million population. so if its five million population you would have a MAX of 50,000 solders during peace time and a MAX of 250,000 during war. in other words 1% of your population in peace time and 5% during war. and my nation has a population of 1.5 Billion with a large defense budget and does not have much more then 35,000 combat aircraft and the tanks are very high as well...

Having recently consolidated under the most enlightened leadership of Crown Prince Charles I, the Principality of Mirsat is unfortunately able to provide any material assistance to the Commonwealth. However, Mirsat extends its hand in friendship to the Commonwealth, and should it become necessary for the Rohan royal family to quit the country for any period of time, they will be welcome in Mirsat for as long as they desire.

Fragor Fumar of The Holy Empire of Tace Clamor, your help would be greatly accepted. Once this conflict is over the Rohanian Army is at your call. Enemy Forces are not on the attack and the state of Alberta is south of the capital of Rohan. if you could direct your troops to the capital, they could meet up with the left flank of the 1st Rohanian Army, and countinue south to the capital of Alberta. Once alberta is taken, an agreement will be made with the Union. We too have sent troops to the other nation.

Units from the 2nd Royal Rohanian Army on the right flank, under command of General Brock Wolfe, started there advance into union land. Once they crossed the border they met stiff resistance. But the Union troops were not prepared and pushed back, many were captured and are curently being transfered to the Army Group HQ. Meanwhile the 2nd Army, vame to the city, Fort Hastlings. There the 1st Union Army was stationed. The 2nd Army took heavy causuties and were pushed back to the Union side of the border.

Unfortunately, I cannot make a personal visit to Rohan due to pressing domestic issues. However, I offer an ambassador, Count Edmund of Tirs, who is my cousin's son and a very bright young man. I ask that you accept him for a short stay in your fair land until we can negotiate the exchange of permanent embassies in our countries.

Furthermore, the arms manufacturers of Mirsat grow stronger every week, it seems - I am sure that they will loan supplies to your forces during the rebellion. Let us negotiate this later as well.

A few days later, a small merchant freighter dropped anchor on coastline that (according to the locals) was near the front line. The captain of this vessel, Ian Lucas of the Weston United Shipping Co., left a typed letter with some local farmers he encountered:

My Prince and Sovereign Charles I has commanded my Corporation to hereby initiate the shipment of arms to the Royalist forces of Rohan. Stored within my ship, the Ocean's Grace, are 4000 AK-47's, disassembled, and 200 crates of ammunition. We sincerely hope that this will aid your Crusade against the Secessionist forces.

According to the latest information from the region, the Ocean's Grace is still present there, but has not unloaded its cargo.

If any further military aid is requiered, the Empire of DHara has 1.75 million armed men, of which half are prepared to be sent to your aid if needed. Regrettably we cannot send any vehicles at this time. Also, I would like to make your region open to trade with mine. Goodluck in your war.

The Fragor's residence :

The Fragor sighed. "You may go" he said dismissing the page, and glared at the telegram. His day had been going bad from the start. First an attempted arson of his residence, then the near kidnapping of his son, then half of his top advisors pick today to run their Limo into a wall. His polls were at the lowest any Fragor's had been in 1000 years of Tace Clamor's History.His rating was a 75! The last Fragor to have a 75% was overthrown! He took sip of his coffe and then took an actual look at the telegram and grinned for the first time that day. Helping out foreigners always raised his Poll Numbers and the Economy. a double win. He called out to his Top General, Archad. "Send 100 troop divisions to the Rohan States, who are in the midst of their Civil War." Archad knew the drill and would both send the troops and leak the news of The Fragor's kindness to foreign nations.

"Yes,SIR! No Delay SIR!" Archad barked as a reply.

The Fragor winced and dismissed the General. The man had been in the Court for 20 years and still hadnt learned the Court's ettiquitte.

"The Fragor Wants One Hundred Divisions In the Rohan States. NOW! My Second In Command Will Be Your Commander In The Foreign Nation. Obey His As You Would Me. MOVE OUT!"

The lead plane on the way to the Rohan States :

Alblain thought back to his home. Then turned his mind to the task at hand. He was leading the heroic troops of Tace Clamor into the Rohan States to defend their Capitol. It sounded like a bad novel. Ah well. The troops liked his method of command better than Archad's anyway. Archad either used too much force to solve a problem or ignored it altogether. and the troops hated him. He asked the Pilot how long until they reached?

"Five Hours with the planes and the Ships will arrive about 20 minutes after us, Sir."

"Make it four hours and when we get back home, you and your friends have shore leave for a month"

"Yes, Sir! Thank You, Sir!"

"Not a Problem" Alblain grinned and went back tohis char and slept. He would need it.

The plane touches down and the rest of the Airforce is due to arrive in a few minute

If you say no, we will be forced to send aboard a team from customs and inspect your boat. If they find any weapons, your vessel will have to be ecorted out of rohan water, by the Royal Rohan Navy. Sorry if i seem hostile, but in these times of war, we are taking all precaustions, so that these arms don't get in the hands of the Union."

But in these times of civil war, we must ask that he waits until the situation clears up. But our Foreign Affairs Minister, Rick Lecompte, would like to send Gordan Brigman, a honorable member of the Rohan government to set up a Rohan Embassy in your great country. If you agree, you will recieve letters from the embassy instead of me, unless they are military orders.

"Please Mr.Alblain, this way." the lady lead him to a conference room. The lights were very dim and one man at the end of the table was smoking a cigar.
"We've been waiting for you. Saw your planes on radar. My name is Comrade Tod Kassouf, the defence minister of the rohan states. To my right is Supreme General of Allied Forces, Jonas Dawood. To my left, forgien minister Rick Lecompte. His Majesty, King Sean Myhre II couldn't make it. But we have his notes. By this note here"passing down the table"he wants you to position your men on our right flank. And help the 2nd Army under General Brock Wolfe, a very close friend. There main objective is to push to Port Royal. Maybe an sea-born invastion once you get al little closer? I donno. Thats all i got for you right now. So fly your boys to Halifax, where you'll meet up with someone. Thanks for your help."
Rick then stood up"Now we have 2 ships the SS.Mary Masterand the SS.Rohan Queen. On board are some of our finest wine and beer. And lots and lots of cheese, and other food. Also, what our military is proud of, our state of the art Hummer VI. There is about 25 of them on board. the RRS.Edmonton is escorting them."Rick sat dow and Jonas remained sitting
"Boy your county is doing a great thing, and you will only have to stay a for a short time. We don't want you all killed now do we? HAHA." Jonas then stoped. Tod was giving him a look of disapproval. "Well thats all for now, good luck."

IC : Alblain raised one of his thin eyebrows at Dawood "The Court at Tace Clamor is full of elaborate courtesies and formalities. Unofficial customs and unspoken social graces are always in play. Some say it is a sign of our grace and civilization. Others say that it is unneccesary and a sideshow from the real politics. Both sides would be mortified today if they were you." He faced the room. "Gentlemen, much as I would positively LOVE to stay, there is real fighting to be done. I would appreciate it if Mr. Dawood here would accompany me to the fighting. Anyone who is that brash in a delicate diplomatic situation, must be a fearless warrior. I bid you good sirs, a good day." He bowed at Kassouf and Lecompte. As he turned he threw a knife at Dawood's chair. It buried itslef upto its hilt inches from his head. As he left Alblain spoke with his back turned "I never miss Mr. Dawood. With any weapon. Remember that. I shall see you on the field of battle"

On the plane again :

"The people seem well enough, but they have thier share of boors. Hopefully I scared some sense into one of them. We fly to their city of Halifax. Tell our Navy to follow the coast till they see the Rohanian Ships"

The crewman of the Ocean's Grace led Cpt. Premier to Cpt. Lucas' cabin, where Lucas accepted the Rohan Army's proposal. The crew then proceeded to unload the arms crates for the Rohan convoy. Several days later, the Ocean's Grace left for the island of Mirsat. However, no reports indicate that the ship has arrived yet.

"The Foreign Ministry understands the honorable King Sean Myrhe II's concern over receiving ambassadors at this time and will retain Count Edmund until a later date. The Ministry will also welcome Gordan Brigman as the Rohan ambassador. "Today, earlier in the morning, a Rohan military convoy, with supplies from aa allieed nation traveling on a road along the union border was ambushed. Sorces inform us that the unit that attacked the convoy were men of the Union's Special Airborne regiment. Here is some video of the destruction [clips of destroyed hummers, and supply trucks]. The commanding officer of the convoy, Captain George Premier, has not been found. It is believed that he has been captured and transported to Fort Myhres. Other wise all bodies have been identified. The trucks were also empty...."

Gordan Brigman will arrive in a weeks on board a cruise ship Lady Mary. I am also sorry to regret that the supplies that were delivered have gone missing, and have yet to turn up. Futhermore anymore supplies should be sailed to the port of Victoria. And at your command, we have 5 CP140 Auroras, they are long-range patrol aircraft. And 4 KINGSTON Class vessels http://www.navy.forces.gc.ca/mspa_fleet/mcd_overview_e.asp to search for your missing ship. Also if you would like, your search and rescue teams may come to Rohan, to search. And in the future, may we ask that your cargo vessels be escorted by our navy, or yours, just so that we minimize the chance of civilion causualties.

OOC: Tace Clamor, in general is anal about manners. Alblain got pissed when ur general laughed and talked about our troops dieinbg in such a crude way. Manners, and conduct are big things back at T. C.

Admiral Jeshon stood on the bridge of Tace Clamors flag ship the L.F.S. Keisaiko. He had received word from Alblain to continue to sail until he had met with Rohanian forces. That had been 2 Hours ago. No sign had appeared, uintil 5 minutes ago when radar spotted something under a cloud bank. Only now had they establised hailing frequencies. "This is Admiral Jeshon aboard the L.F.S Keisaiko. We beleive that you requested our aid?"

3 Halifax Class frigates (http://www.navy.forces.gc.ca/mspa_fleet/hfx_overview_e.asp) moved closer to the Tace Clamor ships.
"Admiral Jeshon, this is Captain John Macdonald of the RSS. Prime. We have been dispatched to find you and bring you to the port of Victoria. My ship will take lead and the other two will take the rear."

Alblain was taken to a tent guarded by 4 men from the Royal Rohan Army Black Guard.
"General Wolfe, sir, we have a Alblain from Tace Clamor to see you. He has orders that he has been attached to our army under your command."
"Send him in."

"We thank you for your aid in navigation. These are foreign waters and we tread with trepadition."

Alblain walked in and seated himself infront of the General. "My name is Alblain. I am the Commander of all the Tace Clamor Armed Forces that are her, And will be commanding the ground forces personally. Admiral Jeshon is in charge of Tace Clamor's navy here. General Ilidar is in charge of the Air Force. They answer to me. And I answer only to General Albrecht. A short pause And you. Correct?"

"It would seem so. Now how many men did you bring? And nuber of ships, and aircraft?"

"We have are bringing in 100,000 of our crack troops in. 50,000 are ground forces. The remainder is split as such. 15,000 of the remainder are in our air fleet. The remaining 35,000 crew our Navy"

OOC: Oh yeah. Just in case I do wind up getting sucked into this war, exactly how many troops are each side fielding? Your numbers at the beginning looked a bit sketchy, even if your nation has compulsory military service.....

Well as my population continues to rise, even during these trying times, my armed forces come to about 4,380,000. All split into the units on my site, and with there respctive equipment. My navy's figures will be completed on the site in 3 days i would think. All my army's figures will be posted on my site. And IC pics. I am workin on a little rp story.

Union Forces have been redone. At the moment, only some units on the front lines are Union. Lots are other units from supporting countries. They total in the 6,000,000 some where. But after several purchases and conflicts at sea my navy is curently superior, for the moment. They use F-16s and Tomcats as there main airforce's weapon. Rohan uses F-18s. We are curenty purchaseing new aircraft.

OOC: excuse me, I need to clarify my troop dispositions in Rohan. When I said 320,000 troops, I meant 320,000 COMBAT troops. That number doesn't count support personnell.

and when you say your army has roughly 5,000,000 men, is that combat effectives or just total numbers. For each 1 combat soldier, there are an average of 10 non-combat military personnell making sure that that combat soldier has the ability to fight effectively (more for pilots and ships, less for infantry). This rule would place your army at 55,000,000 which is more than 3/4 your population base, with your nation split in two by civil war. Assuming the rebel territories have 60% of the population, (figures obtained from army size ratios), your "loyal" army should have:

(73,000,000/100)x.4=29,200,000

29,200,000x.20(assuming there's a draft)= 5,840,000

5,840,000/11= 530,900 combat effective troops for your army with roughly 5 million support personnell (truck drivers, factory workers, paper shufflers, soldiers trapped in garrisons, senior officers, quartermasters corps, judge advocate general's corps, training, construction work, weapons designers and testers, mechanics cooks, painters architects, software engineers, military engineers etc)

just thought I'd try to help clarify a bit. besides. 5 million troops in 2 army groups and 2 fighter wings sounded a bit bulky. This is a bit more manageable

Col. Peter Williamson looked down at the wrinkled and oft-folded telex in his hand. He'd read and re-read it endlessly on the uncomfortable flight in the back of a military cargo plane from the DoMUMC headquarters in National City in Merki to Edmonton City in Rohan. His weariness must have been apparent, for when the copilot clambered back from the cockpit he had a smile on his face when he saw the Col. desperately trying to relax his head against the vibrating walls of the cargo plane.

"It won't be long, sir. We'll be touching down at a Rohanian Air Force base just outside their capital in a few minutes. You'll get some shut-eye there, I expect."

Col. Williamson laughed.

"No, son. No sleep for this weary old man of 32. I'd rather be on night exercises with the 2nd ICB than have to deal with all these foreign politicos. Let half their nation slip out from under them.....Lord knows why we're getting into this mess."

Both men chuckled at the play on the Premier's name, but the smiles died quickly.

"Alright son, go ahead and land this bucket of bolts. I've got to get on the horn to UMC and find out where the rest of the unit is and what we're supposed to be doing here. You and the pilot are supposed to be my security detail, so as soon as we land this thing you two get some rest. I don't want a security detail that can't stay awake. It's bad enough that I can't."

"You think we're really going to get involved with this mess?"

"A civil war on our doorstep? We can't afford not to, son," Williamson sighed, "but damned if I know how we're going to fix it."

And as the plane descended into the black night, Col. Peter Williamson, the youngest Brigade Commander in the Merki Armed Services wondered what hell his men were going to have to follow him through this time.

OOC: Well i have taken 6% of my pop. and made it my during war time force. 2% during peace. Now the union has more troops then my population due to suport that other countries(not real) have given. And my Armed Forces number, 4,380,000 is all branchs of the force including clerks and general staff ect. And i am creating new units and breaking down my forces more.
Note: Factory worker and men/women like that are not employed by the National Defence.
Now i have my map and its split almost 45%/55% (land mass). 55%-being the union due to alberta. But Rohan has Richmond. So you would think the population would follow the approx figures, but as in most counties that i have looked at, a large amount of people live in their capital city and province/state. So i have done that to the split of the country and i gave it about a 50-50 split in population.
Now by dividing my counties population 39500000 is on both sides. subtract the 4380000 armed forces, 35120000 is left in the north's population.

OOC: Oh. In Merki the factories become government owned and operated during times of war and operated by the quartermaster's corps.

I am trying to help you here. I'm just trying to follow diplomatic protocol. I'm not going to backstab anyone here. Just waiting for more seasoned troops to be moved up. I've only got elements of 2 corps and 1 detatched heavy brigade in your nation as yet. just give me a bit of time and you'll se what Merki can do.

"Oh my god!" mumbled the radar private.
"What is it boy?"asked the sergent as he walked closer.
"I don't know. But theres lots of it. All over. Coming straight for us from the north-west." The sergent peered at the screen.
"Holy mother of all gods! Call all the battery cews in the area. Get the SAMs online. Call the airfield, pilots get to the air."
"Sir yes sir!" came the reply frm several soldiers.
"And get me the general, and warn the palace! Send the unknown aircrafts a message, You are now entering Rohan air space. Identify yourselfs. Failure to comply results in being destroyed. I repeat, Identify yourselfs, or be shot down. You have 5 seconds. Where are they?"
"Over the sea still. 5 minutes till they reach land. 10 minutes till they hit Edmonton. General on the line." the private handed over a phone.
"Sir, we have possible enemy aircraft inbound. Lots of them. heading this way. 10 minutes untill they reach Edmonton. SAMs and batteries are ready. Fighters are inbound."
"Good job son. I just got word that an allie has commited troops and are coming. Don't know if its them. Any word from them?"
"No sir."
"How long until our fighters intercept?"
"2 minutes sir."
"Good job, keep me informed."
"Sir yes sir!"
"Night." The sergent handed over the phone.
"Any word?"

OOC: I've only got one plane inbound, a cargo plane, a modified C-130. I've got lots of planes on their way, but they won't be in your airspace for a long while. They're broadcasting Merki IFF codes for everyone to see.

"Holy Shit!"

The co-pilot on the Merki cargo plane bolted out of his chair and sprinted back to the rear of the plane.

"Colonel, I think you ought to know about this. Rohan Air-Traffic Control at the air base at Edmonton where we were going to land just went crazy. We picked up some reference over the comms to large numbers of potential hostiles in Rohan Airspace. Think we ought to let UMC know?"

Colonel Williamson rubbed his eyes and sighed.

"Yeah. Get General Laurence on the horn. Let him know. Then try to get a hold of ATC at the Edmonton City base. Ask them if they want help. We've got those new Mach 3.5 interceptors everyone's been raving about. Maybe we can get our flyboys some target practice."

"Yes sir. Edmonton control, this is Merki UMC number 204 with our military liason aboard. We just overheard that there might be incoming hostiles. We've got interceptors 10 minutes away if y'all want them."

OCC: Oh ok ok the hostiles were you. Haha. Do you want to turn them into union aircraft?

OOC yeah. I've got some mach 3.5 + afterburner interceptors at a base just north of you. I'm in the same region as you, so do you mind sharing a border?

OCC: Na thats great. Can you do a map up?
