War! The word was on everyones lips in Hataria and its Empire. The Imperial Republic of Hataria was fighting The United Kingdom of Questers. Their are Heroes and Villains on both Sides, death is everywhere.

Begun, The Questerian-Hatarian War has.

Hatarian Cuba, 10:12 PM.

at a Air Field, 34 b-2 Stelth Bombers and three AWCs were ready to go and start Operation: BANZAI. Hatarian Spy satellites had shown the High Command that The enemy Questerians had a Naval Base there. So it was by order of Grand General Ming Asakura, The Base was to be Destroyed.

The Planes soon took off, from a near by Base, 123 Sivik-67 Stelths took off to protect the Planes, The AWCs were there to Jam enemy Radar.

The Operation was about to start.

"Yes sir. A group of AWACs planes flying right over us." The RADAR operative reported.

"Really? What the hell do they think they're playing at?" Lieutenant Colonel John Bergmann was the acting commander of the tiny Jamaican garrison and he had just been called in to see a RADAR report. "What else is there?"

"I don't know sir. Our RADAR arrays aren't showing much but the AWACs planes and the occasional blip. IR, however...

The RADAR man flicked a switch and the overlay briefly turned off and on, now showing the full squadrons of Hatarian planes from the overlapping IR/RADAR/LIDAR arrays from the hills of Jamaica.

"Bastards. There must be over a hundred planes there..." the RADAR operative murmured.

"Roger that. Someone get me a phone line to the Atlantic Fleet. Meanwhile, empty all the missiles we can into those bombers. I want every SAM battery on this island up and firing in three minutes, understood?"

With a chorus of "Yessir!" and a multitude of salutes, within a few minutes all eighteen mobile and static SAM batteries on the island were active, targeting the stealth bombers in conjunction with the IR arrays and putting missiles into them like there was no tommorow - which was a possibility at the time. Around eighty missiles from the ground were launched in the first wave against the Stealth B-2s, their veil of secrecy unlocked and bare for all the ground defences to see by the extensive network of infra-red detection on the island. Around Kingston, three of the built in VLS bunkers launched their payloads against the AWACs circling the island in hopes of knocking out direct Hatarian intelligence reports.

Jamaica, Tribal Class DDG HMS Jamaica, 11:15 PM

"Battle stations, this is not a drill. Repeat, this is not a drill."

Men rushed to their battle stations as the klaxons on the HMS Jamaica, HMS Kingston, and HMS Portland Point blazed. On each of the ships, their VLS cells opened up with battery after battery of long range anti aircraft missiles. The mission of the Destroyers was to take out the escorts of the bombers so that time could be bought for more defences to be prepared.

Falklands Islands, HMS Stanley, 11:42 PM
A relief fleet, made around the aircraft carrier HMS Ardent, set sail from the main naval base of the Falklands Islands, Georgia. Followed by a number of escorts and the battleship HMS Vengeance, the relief force would be at least a month before it arrived: and by then it could easily have been too late.

Spy Sattlelite SSC-009, GSO over Hatarian Cuba. 10:23

Space, as usual, was dead quiet. Small fields of junk floated about, among them a large sattlelite hovered. It's advanced camera stood, a lens protection shield over it's "eye". Suddenly, seemingly of it's own accord, the lens cap lifted, and the camera began to shift over to it's target, scanning it's target, Hatarian Cuba.

Bridge of V.S.S. Oured, 400 miles off coast of Panama

The sound of 60 ships cutting through the water filled the night air. On the bridge of the flagship, the veteran Oured, a Velkya Class super dreadnought, the sattlelite image was being viewed with great interest.

"Look's like the enemy is launching a litte Pearl Harbor-style attack on Questria's naval assests in Jamacia, sir."

In the center of the bridge, on the main helm, sat Admiral Jack Rogerson, Admiral of the Kestrel Carrier Fleet. His aging face, looking like that of a grizzled old salt (think Anderson from AC: 5) began to speak.

"Forward the warning to our allies, then try to launch an intercept. Which aircraft can be launched?"

"Krimson and Patriot sqaudrons are both on Alert 10."

"Excellent, get them up to speed and in their aircraft. Get on that warning as well."

"Yes sir, right away."

Within seconds, the Comm Officer began to send a heavily encrypted communication to all Questrian assests within 2000 miles that an air raid was imminent on Quester's naval base. As this was being finished, a group of 24 pilots, some in red helmets, others in white and blue. This denoted that they were in Krimson and Patriot sqaudron. These two sqaudrons were the cream of the Velkyan air force, the best of the best. They had amassed over 50 kills during their existence without losing a single aircraft. Now, they would be tested once again in the skies over the Atlantic. They climbed into their aircraft, recieving their orders. The infamous Krimson Leader, Captain Grimm and the equally legendary Major Powers (Patrots leader) began speaking.

"Grimm, want to take this one for me?"

"Ahhhhh, sure, what the hell, bro."

He cleared his throat and began to speak to his pilots as they waited for the catapult to clear.

"Alright boys, the Hatarians have tried it again. This time, we're cleared to engage 'em. Intel estimates that it's us against about 100 enemy fighters. Now, Big Brother here says that us and Patriot are the only flights that can reach this bomber formation in a...reasonable amount of time. Your loadouts consist of 8 LGAAMs and 4 QMAAMs, along with your twin cannons, of course. The mission is to launch your LGAAMs at the remaining enemy bombers, turn around, and get the hell outta Dodge."

This statement was frowned upon by most of the hotshots, and groans filled the radio channel.

"Hey, hey, I don't like this chicken-shit running either, but they outnumber us 5 to 1, and I'm not about to sacrifice my guys for glory. Anyhow, if any enemy fighters persue, you are cleared to engage, in our playground, got it?"

A chorus of acknowlodgements followed. Then, the ATC cut in.

"Oh, we got it, you guys are cleared to launch. Grimm is first, as usual."

"Goody goody."

Soon, Grimm launched, and within 4 minutes, the entire flight was airborne. Gaining altituide, the group activated their SCRAM jets, speeding to Mach 6 in minutes. They would be within range of the enemy in 5 minutes.

John Bergmann had his hands in his face. The Hatarians hated the Questarians with a fierce vengeance, since the Questarians sank a Hatarian fleet of a hundred ships a month ago with minimal effort. Against formidable odds from the highly fortified Cuba, his tiny garrison with three destroyers, two battalions, and a squadron of outdated fighters would not stand a chance. But this was not was on Bergmann's mind - he was more concerned about the 1.8 million citizens on Jamaica. The second airbase on the island, RAF Tonstory, had eighteen C105s and a pair of C5s with some old Chinooks. Tonstory was just eight miles out of Kingston - the major population base of Questarian Jamaica. Bergmann had ot make a decision - use these C5s to transport military equipment from base to base, or he could use them to evacuate civilians.

"Sergeant, send out a distress call to anyone friendly in the area. If you pickup a pinging signal request a patch through."

"Yessir." Bergmann waited: He did not know about the Velkyan battlefleet, the GPS equipment was under repair, but hopefully, there would be someone out there to answer his call.

The Planes had to do some fancy Flying to try and not get hit by the incoming Missiles, but they had their losses, 23 Fighters, 12 Bombers and all three AWACs were destroyed, The Planes soon continued to head for the enemy Base.

Near Santiago Harbor, Hatarian Cuba

The Largest Hatarian Fleet was soon underway. This new Invasion Fleet was to Invade Jamaica and force the enemy to Fight on their own terriory.

"Sir, we're picking up a distress call from Questerian Jamaica, they are requesting aid from any friendly forces in the area."

Rogerson responded.

"Set a course for Jamaica, we'll back them up. Give them a report on our current strength as well as our ETA."

"Attention Questerian military forces of Jamacia, this is TASK FORCE RED, en route to Jamacia. We are responding to your destress call and have launched a sortie of fighters to intercept the Hatarian bomber fleet. Our forces currently consist of:

OOC: Hataria, planes are moving fast, and large things like planes cannot turn quite so easily as their agressors. You see, that's why people try to take out SAMs first.

SAMs are guided missiles, not simple long range Katyushas. They CANNOT be intercepted by aircraft and CANNOT be dodged except maybe by NON-stealthed Air Superiority Fighters.

Now, bombers need escorts for a reason: They're carrying huge amounts of mass, and cannot turn anywhere near that of a fighter. Fighters are only present in a bombing run in order to protect said bombers from other fighters.

Also, you've defeated the purpose of the Stealth by sending 123 Fighters, even if they are stealth fighters, because stealth only cuts down on emissions and the like. This means that you've sent more than enough planes to make it look like a smaller, non-stealthed wing, which warrants more dedicated scanning and hence detection. This also means death.

Your average stealth-equipped aircraft is not tuned for high performance and has NO afterburners, NO supersonic capability, and otherwise tuned to be as invisible as possible. This means that they cannot carry large missile payloads, and depend on not being detected to survive. They cannot execute these so-called 'fancy flying' dodges to survive, nor can they live through a skirmish.

Stealth fighters are not optimal air-superiority. They are can be used for striking and escaping but cannot actually hold airspace. Their purpose lies in their recon and various other non-air-superiority operations. They cannot hope to outperform a non-stealthed Air-Superiority fighter. Questers could send a single wing of Air-Superiority fighters and expect a more than reasonable chance of success in completely decimating your entire 'Air Fleet'.

Even the 'outdated fighters' would probably win.

When using stealth aircraft, if you're detected you should probably take the 'flight' option and try to escape with as few losses as possible.

Smiling a bit to himself, he radioed his sqaudron.

"Ok boys, your LADAR doesn't lie, looks like we're within range. Turn on your LAFES now (Large Aircraft Formation Engagement System, used by sqaudrons to lock onto seperate targets to assure larger missile spread)."

Instantly, targeting lasers on the LMF-3s began locking onto enemy bombers as the LMFs cruised towards their target.

For a moment, the decision hung in the hands of the leaders.

"Fire at will!"

In a unison, the LMFs fired, releasing over 100 missiles at the Hatarian bombers. The missile's individual lasers began to take over the guidance systems, as their SCRAM jets kicked in. At nearly Mach 6, the missiles sped towards their targets as the fighters headed home.

Earths orbit, at the time of launch of the Hatarian aircraft

An Exetonian military reconaisance satelite doing its routine scans of the planet recorded a mass launch from Hatarian Cuba of yet to be identified military aircraft. The satelite immediately bgean altering orbital positioning to track this squadron of aircraft.

It followed the progress of these aircraft to above Questarian Jamaica airspace and noticed the launch of many interceptor missiles.

These reports were sent directly to Exetonian high command who conversed over them...

The Bombers and fighters wre being blasted out of the sky, Some of the Fighters soon started heading for the enemy planes, The Siviks were known to go to Mach 4, and Hatarian Pilots were known to Dogfight the enemy.

One would doubt the wisdom of your generals if they're sending even more expensive fighters. I'm going to join as a MT puppet.

Oh yes, if the Siviks can go to Mach 4, they're not bloody well stealth, are they? They cannot exceed Mach 1, by design. They are not tuned for high speeds, they cannot effectively dogfight.

The eager Lieutenant Colonel listened to the voice of the Velkyan Admiral down the comm-line. He breathed in and for the first time in four hours had a glimpse of some hope.

"This is excellent, excellent indeed. Sergeant, send me a new message through..."

Roger that TASK FORCE RED, your assistance is greatly appreciated. Firstly, I don't know if we can hold on for 5 days, our defences are already straining after four hours. However, we will do our best until your task force arrives. Secondly, I need to know if your government will accept the transfer of civilians via military transport aircraft from Jamaica to Panama. There are 1.8 million civilians here and I want to get as many as possible out - I don't trust the Hatarians to follow any conventions here. Obviously there aren't enough planes to get everyone out but I will start with the sick and the elderly.

"Roger Control, we are in the air."

The entire squadron of 24 EF-2000 Eurofighters had jumped into the air immediately, as soon as the Hatarian planes were appearing on RADAR. The planes flew at only 20 or 30 metres from ground level, and with the help of various detection masking systems the Eurofighters would be harder to detect. As the planes neared optimal combat range, each turned up by 30 degrees and let off 3 BVRAAM (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/europe/bvraam.htm) missiles towards the Hatarian aircraft, in addition to another 80 high velocity anti aircraft missile from the furious SAM batteries that were concealed under trees, camouflage nets, RADAR jammers and other various decoys. As the Hatarian planes were travelling so fast, these missiles would be hard to dodge and would cause high damage rates against the planes. When the missile would launch, engineers in random locations across Jamaica would open huge thermal flares, providing decoys to mask which SAM batteries were real and which were fake. In addition to this, more engineers of the 202nd company began to fire decoy missiles and other projectiles from flatbed trucks to confuse the Hatarian pilots and detection systems. The Eurofighters were now beginning to close on the Hatarian planes and they began to engage with their remaining 10 ASRAAM (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/aim-132.htm)missiles at short range before opening up with their 27mm cannons.

The battle for Jamaica had begun in earnest and the population of Jamaica began to watch the flashes and the explosions in the dark night sky which blanketed the small, tropical island. Mary Matterton and her two children, a nine year old son called Adam and a seven year old daughter called Juliett, were waiting in their detached suburban home. Only minutes prior Mary's husband, Thomas, had kissed her and her two children goodbye and had dashed off to the constabulary to join the defence effort for the soon-to-begin invasion as a logistical mechanic. She cooked up some beans-on-toast for her too hungry children and switched on the radio (for the television station had been taken over by the military to use as a spotting/decoy towre). She watched her two kids hungrily gobble up the easy meal as she listened to radio reports.

"a Velkyan battlefleet off Panama has joined in the war effort and will soon be arriving. Already our defences have downed over sixty Hatarian planes and fierce dogfights in the sky are ensuing. It is thought that a relief force from the Falklands and Ascencion will arrive in sixteen days. Meanwhile, the Government of Jamaica urges you to.."

Mary switched off the radio. She could not think about the battle in the sky or the relief force: all she thought about was her beloved husband who was, at this very minute, helping crew up C105 Hercules planes, and the future of her children. Surely, she thought, her government and her country would not abandon this fine colony in it's hour of need? Surely there would be some hope? Looking out the window and seeing the flash and the explosions and the faint smoke made Mary Matterton's heart beat rapidly. It was then she realised that the Hatarians would not win even if they brought a thousand more planes and ships, and at that moment, she was, for the first time in her life, truly patriotic.

Official message to Quester:

This is the Exetonian government. We have seen this unjustfied act of war. Although it has thus far been unsuccesful we wish to intervene on your behalf. The only problem we have at the moment is the logistics of moving a 250,000 to 300,000 strong airforce out of ournation as we have no means of getting that out by sea or air. Do you have any naval vessels capable of transporting such a large amount of military (ooc: im talking large in Exetonian military terms). If so could or would you be able to give us the logistical naval supprt to move these forces towards Hatarian waters ready for a land assult in retaliation. It will take us 3 days to fully mobilies as our forces were already on full alert due to the threat to Jewpont.

We are re-deploying Red and purple battle groups from there mission in Jewpont waters to international waters outside of Hatarian waters aswell as readying the other two battlegroups for immediate departure. Red and Purple battlegroups should arrive in international waters outside of Hataria in approximately 7 days whereas Orange and Green will arrive in 10.

Our airforce is readied for immediate launch with our bombers on standby orders. We are awaiting your command to launch strikes against Hataria and should any allies of hers surface, we are more than willing to strike against them aswell with what little equipment we have.

230 knots from The Coast of Jamaica.

The Hatarian Caribbean Fleet was now in range to fire on The enemy coast. The Grand Admral, Eilan San Diablo, knew it was time to make the Questerians hurt so munch that the next Questers wantabe would feel it. "Fire all Cruise Missiles, then send in the Planes and get the Ships closer to Jamaica." Diablo said.

The fleet soon Started launching their Cruise Missiles at the enemy Coastal Defenses, 123 missiles in all about to show the world Hataria was going to kick some butt.

The Thymnorian High Command could not ignore the huge flight of Hatarian Aircraft, as well as their formidable navy formations advancing in an agressive manner. As such, they sent a Message to the Questerian leaders.

For that matter, the Cruise Missile attack on Quester had already forced the Thymnorian navy (And Air Force, by carrier requirement) to proceed to the warzone. As of yet the Thymnorians had no stance on the issue, but to be caught unawares was unforgivable.

On the decks of the carriers of Pwnage ships, hundreds of planes began firing up their massive jet engines as air crews scrambled back and forth with carts full of munitions, loading them up into the internal bays of the planes. Pilots, geared up and ready to fly gave one last systems check as they taxied out onto the carrier runways.

On the other ships, sailors were sweating away at computer desks, feverishly working out missile flight trajectories and readying gun and VLS tubes for fire. Thousands of guns were being loaded with all manner of projectiles from huge 30 inch shells, to .50 caliber machine guns. Targets all over Hatarian Cuba were being referenced, put together from spy satellite footage, search radar, infrared emissions along the coastlines and other data.

When the go ahead was given, the Pwnage 8th Task Force was more than ready to tear Hatarian forces a new one. As squadron after squadron of planes began taking off from the carriers, heavy cruise missiles and long ranged HARMs began flying from VLS tubes and sub launched missile silos. Naval guns began opening up as well, sending huge amounts of ordnance straight towards Hatarian assets.

The Hatarians wouldn't know what hit them....

Grimm suddenly looked at his RADAR scope.

"Alright boys, we got company, looks like a group of enemy fighters and they looked pissed. You are cleared to engage any enemy contacts!"

A chorus of shouts and cheers followed, as the LMFs broke formation and began to flank the enemy fighter formation. Locking on, they fired a wave of 24 QMAAMs at the enemy fighters.

"LET'S KICK SOME ASS, BOYS!"

At this the LMF's throttled up, gaining altitude until they reached 70,000 feet.

"Pounce 'em!"

Then, they began to dive at the enemy fighters, firing their twin cannons all the way.

"Good to hear it, patch me through to the Questrian Governer."

A moment of typing passed, and the Comm Officer turned back.

"Attention, Governer of Jamicia! This is the Velkyan Kestrel Carrier Fleet, currently lying at anchor 1 mile off the southern coast of the island. We have arrived to your aid and preparing to launch a combat sortie on the enemy fighters that are inbound. TASK FORCE BLUE, the main relief force, is currently 2 days away from Jamacia and is still off the coast of the Carolinas. Unfortunatly, we do not have the facilities to offload civilians at this time. However, we will attempt to move into a defensive line on the northern coast to prevent a Hatarian landing, with your permission, of course. "

Flight Deck A of V.S.S. Kestrel, 12:20 AM

As the Admiral said this, the multiple hangers began to shuffle with activity, as dozens of aircraft began taxing to the elevators. A brand new Xeon fighter was a center of activity, as crew members loaded it with weapons and fuel. Large trucks carrying missiles scrurried through the enourmous almost 1 km long hanger, which held 200 planes. The massive 50 meter elevators began to bring the craft up to the equally long flight deck which was covered in aircraft. Pilots ran around on Flight Deck A, trying to locate their aircraft amist a sea of nearly 500 planes.

Airmen First Class Pete Bosman climbed the red steps on his Xeon fighter, climbing into it's sleek cockpit, turning on it's various systems. Overhead, a Xeon flight flew a CAP radius over the busy fleet. With the guidence of a controller, he postioned his aircraft on the magnetic catapult, waiting for the order to launch.

"Mulker 4, cleared for take off on Cat. 3!"

Bosman thought to himself. This would be his first combat mission, ever.

"Roger that, Control 1, firing catapult."

Flipping a switch in his cockpit, he felt to aircraft lower onto the catpult, the wheels touching the ground. He lay back in his seat, ready for the shock.

In came, in a blinding rush, the electromagnetic catapult surged forward at increditble speed down the runway, accelerating the aircraft to over 400 mph in seconds. Then, the magnetic deactivated, sending the aircraft screaming into the air. Soon, Mulker sqaudron was in the air, screaming over the islands at low altitude, so that the citizens of the colony would know that relief had arrived.

The voice of Mulker Leader filled to radio.

"Ok boys, AWACs Thunderbird 4 and Thunderbird 5 are airborne, and they are reporting that we have over 200 Hatarian fighters inbound on Krimson and Patriot. We are ordered to engage any enemy aircraft in the area and maintain air superiority over the area. Corinth, Omega, Romeo, Hector and Falco squadrons are preparing to launch from the Falcon, but they are still 10 minutes away from launch. If we lose the skies above Jamaica, the war is lost, understood?"

"Roger that, understood, sir."

"Good, because in a few minutes, all hells gonna break loose."

The Hatarian Caribbean Fleet was now in range to fire on The enemy coast. The Grand Admral, Eilan San Diablo, knew it was time to make the Questerians hurt so munch that the next Questers wantabe would feel it. "Fire all Cruise Missiles, then send in the Planes and get the Ships closer to Jamaica." Diablo said.

The fleet soon Started launching their Cruise Missiles at the enemy Coastal Defenses, 123 missiles in all about to show the world Hataria was going to kick some butt.

(OOC: The missiles were fired AFTER your bomber squadron was obliterated and you scrambled a new set of fighters, dammit! It's the missiles fired in the engagement! Post losses and let's get on with this war.)

The fleet came into engagement range of the Hatarian Fleet, moving in the five distinct groups. The Fifth, obviously, was comprised of submarine hunters on passive scan and would not be detected unless they came too close.

On the Datong, Admiral First Class Bi Zhefu was busy preparing to launch several flights of Mikoyan MiG-29K (9.41) aircraft, equipped with a combination of Air to Air missiles and a token pair of bombs. The curious thing was the use of smaller, thinner DU-12 missiles - Depleted Uranium-tipped heat seeking missiles. They were kinetic-kill missiles with a more maneuverable design than your regular missile. These were mounted in groups of three, and on two of the eight hardpoints on each fighter. The rest of the slots were filled by the more conventional Vympel R-77 missiles.

Whilst the fighters were not state-of-the-art, the experience of their pilots more than made up for it and were highly prized by their commanding officers.

On the other carrier, Zhefu's (That's a first name, mind you) lower ranked counterpart was preparing similar flights of aircraft, leaving enough to defend their fleets should it come to that.

Thymnori Fleet Beta, with its three battleships, set about calculating trajectories via spy satellite data. Delta Battlegroup did similarly, though they were also loading a formidable amount of Exocet missiles into their launchers.

Commodore Xing Aiming, of the Hequn, decided to move a bit closer at low speed to scout out the enemy fleet's hidden assets. They had orders not to fire, as said act would reveal their position. Sonar was still on passive.

OOC: Hover Infantry? That sounds FT to me.

OOC: It's possible in PMT, via jetpacks, although I'd imagine it'd have limitations such as range and vunerablity to small arm's fire. Part of the reason flamethrowers were abandoned were because they were massive fuel tanks on soldiers backs and because they were easily replaced by less expenisve means (i.e. air-launced napalm weapons). The same with jetpacks. If a .50 cal round (standard on my assault rifles) were to hit the fuel lines, bye-bye rocketeer.

The Allied Union really wonders where the leaders of Opticher have placed their sanity. The Commonwealth defends Optischer, yet we are the enemy. Velkya defends it's ally from the unjust attacks of Hataria, yet we are the agressor. We have no intrest in destroying Optischer, yet they are convinced otherwise.
