OOC: New Earth Formed
Hey everybody! I'm back after lurking around for a few months and Im hopefully going to become more active again on the main NS boards. Now for the last few months I've been playing around on offsite Earth Forums to differing degrees of success.
So I decided to get in the new Earth game myself and start "Earth1900." Earth 1900 as its name says is an Earth based in the year 1900. You pick a real nation and roleplay from the historical point of divergence January 1st 1900.
We are currently looking for an active group of players to populate the world so we can start RPing. So take a look at the website and if you like it sign up.

NOTE: If on the claims thread if a nation has "Inactive" next to the name you are legally allowed to claim it as your own.
I'd sign up but I'm busy at work and with Earth VII.
You presumably realize there is an near-identical RP - E2000 - which has been going for something like 9 months?
[Does the British Empire come in a package, or as seperate nations? Because if I just posted an incredibly greedy attempt at a claim I apologise XD]

Yep. But the difference between this and the other Earths is this a fresh start. Not counting restarts on other Earths most of those are already established and have IC history that is already well developed.

As of 1900 the British Empire is a package deal. Of course Canada and Australia are seperate nations since they are self governing dominions.

I won't be joining this, given my current membership in E20, but I thought I'd point out that Australia became a self-governing dominion in 1901, so in 1900 it would still be numerous separate Crown Colonies of Great Britain.
Canada, on the other hand, is nominally independent.
And Zackaroth, Cuba has been held by the United States since 1898. It's currently a U.S. protectorate, and it gained independence sometime early in the century.

Cuba became an American Colony in 1898 at the end of the Spanish American war but had basic self rule. It was officially granted independence in 1902.
Also you could claim a nation that later on gets independence. So you could claim cuba as a historical indepedence movement. However indepedence movement groups need Admin approval and have to be historical to prevent people from just making up groups and starting revolutions.

Anyways, I see no problem with this, I have always been a fan of past RPs. Mind telling me how Japan would be delt with? Does it still have Taiwan (as I belive it did until the Russo-Jap war, and then regained it in the invasion of China) and possibily that nice little Russian island to the north?

I like having the best of both worlds crazy outrageous non sensical RPs with billions of people and down to earth realistic RPs ;)
Taiwan stayed a Japanese Colony until the end of WWII.

lol. If there is no player for the invaded nation you make the invasion post and either a mod or a neutral player will RP as the invaded nation.
The word is slowly being populated. and we tripled our membership. Though that isnt a big feat when we only had 3 members to begin with.
There is still alot of space for new players and a few of the major nations haven't been taken yet including: U.S., France, Italy and Russia so hurry up and get em while there hot

True True. But we aim to be different by attracting a core group of dedicated players. As long as you have a few very active posters it helps keep everyone else posting.

Now I dono who to pick....it must be an island country of great possibilities, and not a colony...
I guess I should have regestered last night when I had the chance.
I may get my name rechanged, or just re-regester, as like The African Unity Front or something based in South Africa or something along those lines....but I really wuv naval superiority >.<
