Welcome to Chapter II of Earth Imperialism,
For some time now, Earth Imperialism has been playing along the lines of the early 1800's or late 1700's, massive lines of troops moving in formation and firing innacurate muskets, huge sailing ships with hundreds of cannons and so forth.
After a recent agreement, we have moved on, as it were, to 1890. That means massive lines of infantry moving in slightly looser formation, with slightly less silly uniforms and a lack of funny hats for the most part. The car has just recently been invented and is currently being developed into a military transport by some of the larger nations.

Recent Events:
-The Soviet Union (Althist: The Russian Revolution occured in the 1870's) and Imperial Germany invaded Poland. The Polish state still exists as a soverign buffer state between the two, although without Lithuania it is fairly powerless at this point.
-The Ottoman Empire and the United Kingdom have begun plotting to invade Persia/Iran
-The United States plots to take over the Aztec state to its south.
-The Soviets have granted Barbary privateering rights in the Black and Caspian seas.
-A joint Soviet-US project to develop motorized infantry divisions.

Right now we could use somebody to temporarily play the following:
Canada
Iran/Persia
Both for invasions, so if you want a short combat RP, maybe lasting a week or so total, this would be a good way to get it :)

There are many things that could possibly happen in the near future on EI once this meeting in France is finished. I assume some pact may emerge out of it and possibly the beginnings of a world war or pretense to a world war.
