Panthean President for life retires

At 9:00 PM the President made a live address from the Presidential Palace.
The 72 year old Ivan Kerensky announce to a live TV audience his intention to retire from the Presidential office. Kerensky, who became president 12 years ago in a extreme right-wing military coup, declared the democratic process "mob rule" and asserted himself as President for life. With Cancer slowly eating away at his health, it looks as if the old general will throw in the towel early
President Ivan Kerensky was the 2nd President of the young Panthean Republic. Former president Sergi Hahns was president for 4 years before being ousted by Kerensky during “Fools day coup.” The April 1st coup was largely due to the embarrassment the military had received following the "Great Blackmail of Slovakia" and his order for the Panthean military to step down in the face of a North Germania onslaught. Kerensky’s is probably the most ambitious president to ever rule over the Panthean people. Unlike his predecessor, Kerensky was very involved in foreign affairs. Under Kerensky the nation became a world player and climbed out of the hole of isolation. Those on the outside of Pantheaa see him as a megalomaniac, paranoid dictator who did everything and anything to get his way. -War in Israel, In which several Pantheaa MIGS saw combat against the Cottish Airforce. The war proved Kerensky’s point that a secret alliance between imperialism existed, as the crusaders from Elephanti announce that they knew would asset Cotland in denying
a new Jewish state
-Expanding the Panthean Republic, his purchase of Mexico was one of the largest in earth history. His take over of former Cotland Russia in the South help us expand our tiny empire here in Russia
-Approved of a human rights conference
-Resigning from the Roman Confederacy and keeping Panthea a state ruled by Pantheans and not a international body of imperialist
-Help smuggled mercenaries and bombs into Poland. Although Kerensky denies such claims. Foreign sources say that they found Panthean made weapons and bombs during the uprising
-expanded Panthean art and culture and opened the door for a revolution in arts and crafts
-Renamed the Panthean Federation to the South Russian Republic of Pantheaa (SRRP). This was his last act as President of Pantheaa
Vassili Zeitsev named new President
In a surprising move Ivan Kerensky has named Vassili Zeitsev (pronounced Zit-sev) as the new Panthean president. All that is left is the approval from the parliament and Vassili will become the 3rd Panthean president. As mentioned before this is somewhat a surprise as Vassili is Russian born, as oppose to Ivan who is a Slovakian refugee. One would think that being a nationalist Ivan would assigned a Slovakian to be president. But as the Russians are soon outnumbering Slovakian refugees it is becoming apparent that the general is trying to appease the anger of Russian mobs who enjoyed a lax democracy under Cottish rule.
Over the years Ivan had taken an interest in Communism and for the most part embraced its concept of anti-imperialism. Whereas his predecessor was known for jailing and exporting known agitators, Ivan welcomed them into his government. Ivan even jailed and then executed several of the radical right wingers in his government who plotted to assassinated leaders of the far left. This called many far right wing groups who once supported Ivan to denounce him as a traitor and thief. The far right Nationalist party is
now looking to take back the government under the leadership of Aleksei Koslov through the democratically elected parliament. With Vassili Zeitsev becoming the new president this may suggest a more dramatic push into realizing this Communist dream, as Vassili is a far leftist nationalist who in his youth was a member of Young Communist club of Slovakia (this is before we were chased out of Slovakia.). Vassili also plans to bring warmer relations to the Rome and North Germania and Cotland.
Vassili Zeitsev will be sworn in as president for life at 10:00 on Friday if the legislative body approves his appointment.
