Title auction?
Following the death of King Drake's uncle, Charles Rlugia, many titles and estates have went vacant. Legally, these items would go to Drake, but Charles will states that most of these will go to the state[titles being abolished, estates becoming state lands], with the remaining titles and estates going up for international auction. All funds from the auction will go to Hevena's coffers, to aid the poorer children's fund of Hevena(PCFH), which Charles was a great donator too.
The titles and estates up for bidding are:
1. Duke of Charloi (1,000,000,000 for Duke of Charloi by Ftang)
2. Janau House, a lovely estate on lake Janau. [Bidding starts at 50,000 Hashars] (100,000,000 Hashars by Laura Keller)
3. Baron of Zenai [Bidding starts at 4700 Hashars] (50,000,000 Hashars by James Keller)
4. Comte de Swar [Bidding starts at 6000 Hashars] (30,000 Hashars by Theao)
5. Plate Manor, a quiet manor house in the Plate Forest. [Bidding starts at 100,000 Hashars.] (200,000,000 Hashars by Ashley Keller)
----
We ask that bidders be people, not governments. The country you hail from must recognize nobility in some shape or form, and you WILL be required to pay Hevenan taxes if you win the bid on an estate.
We will allow heads of states to bid, as well as regular citizenry.

[b]Let the bidding begin!
What are the taxes on the various estates?
Prospective Bidder.
Note from the Tax Office of Hevena
All estates are marked at a 2% tax. Last year, the respected estates total were about 10,000 Hashars in taxes. That would make them about 5,000 a piece.
Also, do the titles come with any perojatives or responsibilities?
Potential Bidder
Note from King Drake
Titles do not have any known responsibilities. You will recieve the land of the said Duchy, Barony, or County, have you will be able to visit the intricite Hevenan court, with it's wealth and splendor. You will also be able to pass these lands unto heirs, as long as it applies to Saelic law.

what applies to Saelic law may i ask?
What are the tenents of Saelic law?
Also do nobility have a wider range of rights than ordinary citizenry?
Interested Bidder
A note from King Drake
Hevena recognizes Saelic law, as it is a land heavily influenced by French ways and culture. Saelic law means that these titles may not pass into female lands through inheritance, although they make gain them through marriage.
Nobles pay half of what regular citizenry pay in taxes, and they have immunity from being arrested in regular prisons. They instead go to royal establishments. Also, nobles are the only that can be killed via injection, if they happen to recieve a death sentence. Regular citizenry are killed via firing squad.

may a woman bidd?
They can bid on estates, yes. Titles if they are bidding for their male children, as it is perfectly legal for women to assume a regency through a minority.
Unfortunately, that has force me to reconsider my bid as my only offspring are female. Surely there is a way to circumvent Saelic law, say perhaps thought a generous increase in bid?

Plate Manor, 120,000 Hashars: from Ashley Keller
Well..in extreme cases, females can inherit titles. We will allow females to bid and take this titles, and keep them until they die. After that they will pass to the nearest male relitive. Is that suitable?
That would be preferable, thought not optimal. Would they retain the titles upon marriage, and how would it be handled if there were no male relatives?
Would perhaps a quintuple bid be acceptable to include in the titles bid upon to be passed to the eldest child regardless of gender?
Prospective Bidder
ooc: Quintuple = 5 times
They would retain the title through marriage as theirs. In extreme cases with no male relitives, the title will pass to a women, to keep it in the family. Of course, this has rarely happened in Hevena.
So would a quintuple bid be sufficiant to get the law ammended in the specific cases, or would that require a higher bid?
No, a quintuble would be quite enough for the royal courts to "overlook" Saelic law for your daughters.
