The Rebirth of the Texas Rangers [Earth II]

As Tyler Hornsby settled into a leadership role in Texas, one thing was clear. A state-wide police force was needed to help quell any disturbances like the hated Vaqueros Gang had initiated. The Hawdawg Defense Force that helped in the transition was ready to return home and barring the Military Bases these troops would occupy Texas would have to fend for itself in daily life. The economic prosperity and future of Texas Autonomy hinged on a safe environment for trade and life to prosper. The increase in criminal activity had caused alarms to go off in Austin and Hornsby had a simple solution, bring back the Rangers.

When Rome took over the control of Texas, all local/territorial law enforcement was dissolved and replaced by loyal citizens of the Empire. This was effective at first but tensions continued to exist throughout the Roman presence in Texas. Local’s felt “controlled” by an outside force and many suggest these feelings caused the anti-roman government organizations to flourish. Debating this issue wasn’t what was needed in the Legislature, quick action was needed. Since the hand-over of power, homicide rates had quadrupled, armed robberies had grown two-fold, and many perpetrators were crossing county lines to escape local law enforcement agencies that lacked the manpower or money to chase them across the state.

As the Legislators debated in grand fashion what and how to fix the problem, as typical no legislation appeared. Once the Legislators broke for Thanksgiving Hornsby issued his Proclamation to re-establish law in the land.
