I'm seeing a very large lack of fantasy-style RPing on these boards, so why not start a list of possible ideas for fantasy Earths or other organized RPs? If you have any ideas, I'll post them in the list. Hopefully we can organize at least one.

Lord of the Rings Earth?

How about a story where it's about 200 years from now, a plague has destroyed 97% of the Earth's inhabitants, and barbarian tribes have occupied the former major cities of earth? The plague has somehow opened some Mystic Gates, and sorcery, wizards, supernatural creatures, etc are involved. I'm pretty familiar with New York so maybe warring tribes fight for dominance in the five boroughs.

An Earth based off the Bartimaeus Chronicles? In this, the world is divided into the classes of the magicians, who have the power to summon demons and are the ruling classes, and the commoners, who cater to their needs. The major world powers are Great Britain, Italy, and the Czech Republic.

Nope...never heard of Rifts. I'm a big fan of the Conan/Thongor/Brak the Barbarian type story, and also the Mad Max thing. Figured a combo of the two would be cool. Read a book called "Kalki" where the world was destroyed by a plague that was purposefully let go by a small group who wanted to return the earth back to it's original state.

Well, there was the Earth Fantastic, it was moderatly successful for a brief period. It had a nice name to ;)

Fullmetal Alchemist? (not the actual story with characters, but the idea of alchemy employed by the State in a Turn of the Century 1880s-1890s European setting)

It would be interesting to play various states and their militaries...

I am completely unfamiliar with Harry Potter. My kids are way too old to have been interested in it, so I was never exposed to it.

Okay, I'm going to express my dislike for people pointing out typos like that. I make a lot of typos, so get used to it.

OK, so let me try and summarize: We're looking at a Harry Potter meets Conan in a post-apocalyptic world where sorcery, demons, wizards, monsters, and alternate/parallel worlds where pagan rites are intermingled with Atlantean legends and Mayan/Druidic blood sacrifices in the Avalon Priestess tradition.

Did I leave anything out?

If i"m not mistaken, you were lamenting the lack of good fantasy threads.

Yes. And I'm constructing a list of good ideas that can be used for fantasy-style Earths or ways to integrate more fantasy into NS RPing.
