EKABAL, EK - President Ojenoc has just signed the new Senate-approved Constitution of Ekathora. This new constitution was described by President Ojenoc as "revolutionary in ways that the fighters that gave blood for Ekathoran freedom would be proud of." The Constitution reforms the Republic into a system of dual power. After many months and immense cooperation between the Senate and the President, Ekathora now has a constitution that defines a system of checks and balances. In our new governmental form, the entire Senate will be voted upon and elected to their seats through a system of Proportional Representation. This means that of the new 500 seat Senate, whatever percentage a party wins in election, that percentage takes that many corresponding seats in the Senate. The President will still be elected through popular majority. Also, the Prime Minister will be elected from the Senate itself and hold most of the domestic powers of government, while the President will serve as a foriegn and international symbol of Ekathora and be in charge of the military and international treaties. Of course both powers will be able to check each other, and the the Judical Council will provide the third and final counter-balance of the system. This new consitution will usher in a new era for Ekathora. "Being a small country in the face of a brutal world, we now have a firm platform in which to preside over our nation." Senator Becion stated in an interview with the Observer. "We take pride in this constitution because it will help us form lasting relationships with the international community as well as keep things at home safe and organized." The new form of government, with its intense leader-based checks and balances will prove to be interesting in the days to come, as international treaties and domestic affairs are becoming ever more important.

The chatter continues to fly from office to office in the capital, St. Norris. The people of the nation can sense the tension with the evergrowing number of bold headlines on the newspapers and televisions that read: NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUE TO FAIL.

A faint knock is heard on the editor's door of the nation's 2nd largest newspaper...

Mr. Edwards (Editor):"Come in"
Secretary: "Mr. Edwards, there's a call for you on line 1."
Mr. Edwards: "Thank you. Close the door on your way out please."

Edwards picks up the phone to find out that it is George Amberlin, the head of the newspaper in St. Norris.

Mr. Amberlin: "Hello Mr. Edwards, how's the newspaper business coming along?"
Mr. Edwards: "Same as always George, why do you ask?"
Mr. Amberlin: "Well Sam, I just got off the phone with one of the top officials down at the capital, and they're faxing us some detailed papers that they want us to print, and the more papers that print it, the more people will be informed."
Mr. Edwards: "What do these papers concern?"
Mr. Amberlin: "The very thing we've been fearing, you knew it was bound to happen. The government wants all the nations' papers to print them, and send them out as soon as possible."
Mr. Edwards: "I understand, fax us the papers and I'll see what I can do."
Mr. Amberlin: "Thanks a bunch Sam, it will really ease the stress on our budget if your paper helps us out. I owe you one."

As the papers and news stations published the papers, fears grew that it may cause a panic, but the government still wanted everyone to be informed about the possibly devastating conflict that could explode between the nations of Westport any day now. At the same time that the people were preparing at home for this war, the Norris Land Army was making it's own preparations...

The Military began moving troops and supplies closer to the borders of Norris Land weeks ago, and now it has begun mobilizing larger war machines...there was no turning back now. As night fell over Norris Land, faint roars could be heard overhead as bombers and transports were being re-located all over the nation. The military was making its presence felt all over the country, and soon, the region of Westport.

IC:"Field Marshall. It's time for your speech."
"Thanks Ruytir."
Field Marshall Halget, commandant-supreme of the Boozian land forces, stepped out onto the stage. Below him were the expectant faces of the rest of high command. General's Gontat, Heiligan, Jurhas, Dohlfg, Mitteratol, Commanders Flidton and Gols, Vice admirals Hailmiter and Fahros, and his official equals but actual subordinates Admiral Falsterg and Air Marshall Kusdadt. Yup, the gang was all here. He glanced at the piece of paper cleverly concealed in front of him.

"Comrades, you are all aware why we are assembled?". It was a statement, not a question. News travelled faster than radio waves in the services.
"I shall run through it one more time." For the benefit of those watching at home, he thought. Talking to his whole country was very unsettling.
"The council has composed a new foreign policy, dealing with almost every possible geo-political circumstance in the coming years. It is backed by all members, but of course so momentous a change cannot be put into effect without the consent of the senior people of the nation. I, for one am a staunch follower of these ideas, so now it is I who need consent: yours, gentlemen. You will find copies of the new policy infront of you, the votes will be called in one hour."

It was the following day. The vote in both in both the military and the nation as a whole had been overwhelmingly in favour of the new policy, and as a result, the ancient ceremones of war were performed. In the strait between Halstwick and the main island, the fleet was being reviewed by the council.

Admiral Falsterg stood on the observation bridge of the Defiant, explaining the navies structure to the council.

"I have overall comand, and this is the the overall comand ship. Halstwick fleet needs it's own admiral and flagship because I have to devise strategies concerning both fleets."

"Just how good are our ships, compared to the rest of Westport?"

The Admiral thought hard about this one. "Good enough, is all I'll hazard here, sir. On paper, the Dominant class is just that, but it has seen no real combat. I cannot name any ship in history which, for better or worse, has performed as it would on paper."

As would soon become obvious, unexpected, not-as-it-would-on-paper incidents were about to become the rule throughout Westport...

The Westport channel, a stretch of water between the islands and mainland of Norris Land and the nation of Nebarri Prime. The Commander & Chief of Norris Land, James Elggon (El-gin), ordered a division of the Norris Land Royal Navy's Destroyer group to set up a blockade at the east end of the channel, between Seaside and Kenningsway.

...the citizens of Kenningsway saw first site of the blockade when the massive destroyers of the navy began moving out of port and stretching their mighty defensive line across the channel...

...tourists in the city of Seaside looked to the sky to see a wing of bombers circling the shores, a city not used to military presence...

In the capital...
"Sir, the CO in Kenningsway reports that the blockade is in place."
"Good, and are there any reports from the recon planes?"
"Skies and shores are clear, sir."
"Yes, good, carry on..."

Later that day, a smaller division of ships were moved off the west coast of Kenningsway, to serve as a smaller defense for the other end of the channel.

"Attention sailors, we have been ordered to set up this blockade to keep all foreign ships out the channel. Any ship that gets within range of the blockade is to be reported to HQ, then pending orders, sank immediately. May God be with us."

Troop Carriers moved their way across the channel in the air, to bring troops to the island to reinforced the already fortified divisions on the shore.

To the north, the army's tank and troop divisions closed the borders on all sides, allowing nobody in or out of the country.

Norris Land was now isolated from the region, pending the following offer...

"The Prime Minister of Norris Land hereby extends an offer to any and all nations in the region of Westport with GOOD or better Political Freedoms and/or struggling with their economy. We feel that the upcoming conflict is unavoidable and the government wants to keep the righteous political views of the region alive. Our borders remain closed to any nation outside this alliance."

President Ojenoc stood at the edge of the stage. His finger traced the edge of his one notecard. He breathed very slow and methodical breathes. His eyes were those of a focused man's, and his shoulders were held up straight and strong. He waited for his cue, then stepped out onto the stage walking slowly toward the podium. As he turned out onto the stage, hundreds of blarring flashes shot out from the room as photographers got their shot of the President.

Stepping up to the podium, he began his address to the nation, "Good evening Ekathora. I come to you now with news of the most grave nature. Things are occuring all over Westport tonight that I believe the people should know about. We are at the brink of a conflict on our island, and we must be ready for it. We are aware of numerous nations readying their forces around our island, but what we must realize is that this is simply a sign of tension not of doom. I am currently seeking diplomatic relations with every nation in Westport in order to end this conflict before it expands beyond our ability to stop it. The nation of Norris Land has called out for the free nations of Westport for support in ending this devestating conflict. I have ordered our armed forces into standby in our largest cities. Our armed forces are by no means mobilizing, and this is something that I hope everyone on Westport will understand. Ekathora seeks no war that will undoubtably cause the deaths of thousands, however we will fight to our dying breath to protect our sovereignty. I believe firmly that this is not an issue that will be easy to settle, but with sufficient help I believe that this conflict can be ended through diplomatic means. We must set an example for others in the region, that is why I refuse to fully mobilize our forces, for I believe that we can solve our problems through peace and talks. I encourage all nations to consider helping me and other leaders in disengaging from this tension. I encourage my fellow Ekathorans to show peace and goodwill to our neighbors and in this time honor our patriotic flag with pride for what it stands for. This is not the time for war and isolation, it is the time for peace and community."

Nodding his thanks to the audience, President Ojenoc smiles as the flashes continue and backs away from the podium to return to the side of the stage.

Norris Land announced today that it stands by Ekathora and will back them up in any and all actions they take to ensure that the free nations of westport stand together...

"We realize that times are tough among the region, and to help ensure the safety of our free peoples, our nation stands behind Ekathora and any other believer in a free and peaceful world. Although we support any action to keep peace, we will not tolerate any military actions against a free nation by a nation will lesser political freedoms and will not hesitate to remove the threat from our region. We hope that Ekathora will stand by us the same way we stand by them. Thank you."

Councilman Henksmith pinched the bridge of his nose suddenly regretting getting himself elected. He looked over the proposal from General Sergei, a request to mobilize military divisions 1 and 3 from the military base at Mount Ulver to positions south of the city of North Fenris. Norris Land had mobilized its forces and reinforced its borders. Furthermore, Norris Land and North Fenris' political views were nearly antithetical, causing friction and dislike between the citizenry. However, Norris Land was far larger with better equiped military. Henksmith sighed and then wrote his sigil in the appropriate column.

Iso City Free Press

The Council (our one and only governing body) has voted on General Sergei's recent request for more military control and mobilization. In a 5 to 4 split descision, General Sergei's proposal was accepted. This action will increase the already high tensions in Westport. It is important to note that this is an election year and of the three Council Members up for re-election, two were for and one against.

General Sergei nodded to himself as read the Council's reply. He looked up from the document at the eight captains of his elite forces. He handed them their orders, and saluted them as they left. He then began the paperwork to start the mobilization of the 1st and the 3rd.

"Sir, I think you should read this..."

President Elggon is handed a newspaper, titled "Iso City Free Press", he reads the story on the front page...

"It seems that North Fenris is mobilizing a larger part of their Army sir, and our alliance doesn't seem to be to their liking."

"An alliance with North Fenris is out of the question. We need to prepare ourselves against them, move some of the destroyers in our blockade into firing range of their southern most city, and raise the alert on our bombers."

"Do you really want to provoke them, sir?"

"The provoking has come and gone i'm afraid, we can only prepare for what's to come."

A few of the destroyers from the blockade moved in range of North Fenris' southernmost city, and were put on high alert.

Bombers were armed and prepped for launch at a second's notice all over the nation, and the troops on the border of Norris Land and North Fenris were put on a higher alert than previously mobilized on.

"Our forces are on high alert, sir."
"Good, now get Ekathora on the phone, they could be just as threatened as us."

The new Ekathoran Prime Minister, Gamamel, stepped into the room. He scanned the contents of the room to reveal the President as well as two Senators and three army generals. Standing in the entryway, the Prime Minister swallowed comfortably and walked over to sit at the end seat of the board room table.

"I am sorry to wake you Prime Minister," President Ojenoc stated solumnly from the other end of the long table. "But the recent events have presented some dire dilemmas for us to make decisions about."

"I understand only bits and peices as of now gentlemen." Gamamel looked at the Senators and Generals seated at respective sides of the long table. "Please fill me in as best as you can."

"Well sir." General Temon started, opening up his folder. "From information sent to us from St. Norris, it appears that North Fenris has mobilized its troops along with the nearly all of Westport."

One of the Senators perked up at the other side of the table, "North Fenris only mobilized in response to the mobilized forces of Norris Land!"

"Senator Becion, with all-due respect, I understand that. Everyone in Westport has been mobilizing. In fact, I am a firm believer that the decision for us not to was unwise..." Temon shot a quick glance at the President at the head of the table.

"Does this mean war?" the Prime Minister asked to the group.

"No." Ojenoc stated firmly. "It does not mean war. Although this rapid mobilization has created additional tensions, it does not nessessarily lead directly to war. This can be avoided if both sides removes troops from their common border."

"That's insane!" General Temon snapped, "How can we expect them to-"

"If both of the states truely do not wish for war," the President interupted calmly, "then they will remove their troops. If need be, the treaty can be signed here."

"They will not sign a treaty sir." Senator Becion stated coldly. "Both governments have stated that they will not cooperate."

"In the interest of international security they must." Gamamel leaned forward. "We cannot sit idly by and watch two of our peace-loving neighbors destroy one another over a misunderstanding!"

"What if this is no misunderstanding?" Temon said quietly.

"Then we will soon know." Gamamel leaned back again slowly.

General Temon turned some pages in his folder, "We should mobilize the Ekathoran Army. We can take strategic positions in Kalst in mere hours if given the order to fortify."

"No." Ojenoc was almost forceful, "I will not mobilize our troops, this will only create more tension and create additional issues. Our troops will remain on standby. I will not risk further boiling this situation."

"What if North Fenris strikes us? We will be ill prepared to defend our borders!" Temon shot back.

"I do not believe that North Fenris will mount an assualt against us. If we are attacked, I am sure that we will have international aid, however, mobilizing our forces may create the very war that we are trying to prevent!" Ojenoc looked around the room, almost all the faces were nodding in agreement, except General Temon and General Finch.

Prime Minister Gamamel started again, "I agree that our forces should remain on standby, and should not be mobilized, but I also agree that we must be ready for anything. Westport is becoming more and more hostile with each passing day, and we cannot afford to allow this tension to create chaos on our island."

"I will contact Norris Land and Nova Boozia about this event." Ojenoc stated, "If things turn out for the worst, Ekathora will have no choice but to side with our ally in St. Norris. But I do not wish to give up on peace yet."

"Yes. Indeed, I believe we should host the Conference for Peace earlier than originally decided upon. I will request permission of the Senate to begin the Conference as soon as the leaders that wish to come are able to."

"Excellent. The Conference of Peace will be an indispensable tool to maintain peace and create a lasting alliance between other Westport nations... I hope that it is not too late. And I hope that North Fenris and Norris Land are able to settle this dispute at the Conference instead of on the battlefield."

Councilman Henksmith smiled as he re-read the letter from President Ojenoc. He eagerly awaited for the other eight Council members to arrive so deliberations could begin. They arrived one by one: Councilman Yamaguchi, Councilman Kukevich, Councilwomen Alfjord, Counclimen Ortez, Councilwomen Eregard, Councilman Scan, Councilman Tanaka, and Councilman Gustev.

Henksmith: "You have all received a copy of the letter I received from President Ojenoc. Councilmembers I believe this allows a chance to protect our small nation and still mantain peace. We must accept and send a representitive to the conference at Ekabal."

Eregard: "It would be futile, Norris Land has openly advertised its viewpoints and our policies don't meet the cirteria for their alliance."

Kukevich: "They do bring new meaning to the phrase: 'Live free or die.'"

Alfjord: "Yes, but Ekathora would be hosting the conference, a much more tolerant and peacable nation. Our nation is too small and vulnerable for outright aggression."

Tanaka: "We have a responsibility to protect our citizens, which includes not conceding to foreign threat. General Sergei is a wise man, if he believes our military is capable of out-maneuvering our opponents than I have faith in him."

Yamaguchi: "We also have a responsibility to not needlessly waste the lives of our people's sons and daughters. All routes for peace should be explored."

Henksmith: "Remember despite aggressive actions no blood has been shed yet."

Scan: "What if these talks are just a set-up for an assassination, an attempt to take the initiative away from us."

Ortez: "Speed and surprise would be our only advantages in armed conflict with Norris Land."

Gustev: "But if Ethakora joins them could we really sustain conflict on both flanks?"

Eregard: "Sergei assures me that contigency plans are ready to be enacted in such a scenario."

Kukevich: "And what of other nations?"

Yamaguchi: "Intelligence is inconclusive, though there is domestic unrest in Jtnibbles and Nova Boozia is known to be mobilizing."

Alfjord: "We are too small to survive without an alliance in the upcoming conflicts, and President Ojenoc is trustworthy, don't forget trade to and from Iso City could bulster us while military is focused elsewhere. We owe ourselves to take advantage of this opportunity."

Henksmith: "If there is nothing else to be said, I propose a vote. If the Council decides in favor of, I propose we vote for which Council member should represent us in Ekabal."

Delport Tribune

Yesterday in 6 - 3 decision, the Council ruled in favor of attending peace talks in Ekabal. It was unanimously decided that Councilman Kukevich would be the delegate to attend. Polls show that approval ratings are on the increase given the times, and much speculation is given to whether these high tension times will bulster support for incumbant officials or generate strong issues for opponents to attack this election year.

The Isle of Norris Land will be represented by Prime Minister O'Donnell at the Peace Conference. Nobody in the convention objected to this, as they all knew he was the perfect representative for our country, other than the President, of course, but that would've been an unnecessary security risk.

"And also, I would like to announce that I am lowering the alert level on our military. I don't want any incidents at this conference, therefore, our military alert level will be downgraded but not demobilized, they will remain fortified and ready for anything."

EKABAL, Ek - Today representatives arrived from both Norris Land and North Fenris to attend the Ekathoran Conference for Peace. The Conference for Peace is the lovechild of the Ojenoc presidency, and is being held in Ekabal over the next several days. The Conference invited all the national leaders of Westport, however only three leaders so far will be in attendence.

President Ojenoc addressed the international community again yesterday in a speech given with the arrival of the foreign diplomats. "This conflict of Westport will affect all the nations of our island. I have openly invite ALL of the nations of Westport to send representatives here to Ekabal." President Ojenoc greeted the foriegn delegates at Ekabal International Airport, shaking the hands of both Prime Minister O'Donnell from Norris Land and Councilman Kukevich of North Fenris. The President outlined that he had hopes to see more diplomats at the Conference within a few days time.

The Conference will begin today, with all the national leaders present stating their personal and national proposals regarding the growing tension in Westport in the recent weeks. President Ojenoc stated, "This Conference will address two key issues of this Westport Conflict; one will be the treaty that will maintain peace between North Fenris and Norris Land and hopefully out of that we will initiate the second key issue; creating the Alliance of Peace that will bind our countries together in mutual protection and support in the event that others try to threaten regional peace."

It seems that with the Conference for Peace underway, we should soon see some real international discussion between the nations present, and with hope, others will arrive in Ekabal soon as well. For now, all we can do is hope that the Conference is successful.

"I say we should sign no alliances. We are a threat to every nation in Westport, if we choose to be. I do not wish to give up this power."
"You exagerate the negatives. We would have more assets at our disposal not less. We cannot immediately assume that these mobilizations will result in war."
"That is dangerously optimistic. If you do not believe that war is coming, why vote to mobilize?"
"Deterance makes piece."
"It didn't in the Cold War."
The councill was discussing various alliance proposals it had recieved. This was one of three issues being faced, the others being whether to attempt to break the blockade peacefully and whether to station men on the Fenris/Norris border. The general view was that there was no no point in throwing water on an oil fire, but that there should be men on standby. Let them make the first move, then no-one would play the blame game.

Note: The councill has elected Senior Counciller Golsvolner as the peace representative.

President Ojenoc greeted Senior Councilor Golsvolner of Nova Boozia with a large grin. "Welcome to Ekathora Senior Councilor, I am glad you've come." President Ojenoc led him into a large comfortable room with the other representatives in attendence of the Conference.

As everyone sat down to the large table in the middle, President Ojenoc addressed everyone from his seat. "Thank you for coming to the Conference and supporting Peace in Westport. This Conference will address many issues, and I hope, will resolve some of the conflicts that have already risen on our island. First, I must ask something of all my peers." President Ojenoc lifted the small plaque that was infront of him at the table, the plaque had the Ekathoran flag on it. Duplicate plaques with respective flags sat next to each of the leaders at the table. "I will ask you to set these nationalistic ideas aside." he carefully lifted the plaque up and placed it out of sight on the chair next to him. "Here, we are not nationals of our countries, we are citizens of Westport. It is of course your own choice, but I ask you to remember that we are all on the same island, and we are all brothers and sisters in our land. Thank you."

Folding his hands infront of him, Ojenoc got to offical business, "The first task that this Conference is to address will be the situation between North Fenris and Norris Land. We wish to end this with peace, and further than that, we hope to rise away from this Conference with an Alliance that will support and backup all our nations together from outside threat. However we must take this one step at a time. I would like to invite all of you to express your concerns, wishes and thoughts on this matter."

and so the Conference has begun....

The Prime Minister of Norris Land, O'Donnell, raised his glass, and then took a sip of his drink. Placing it back on the table, he continued.

"My nation is very concerned about this conflict, and we wish to avoid it at all costs. However, although we push strongly for peace, we will not hesitate to defend ourselves..." *O'Donell shot a quick glance across the table at Nova Boozia's Senior Councilor Golsvolner*

"Councilman Kukevich, I have an offer for you. We will sign an alliance with your nation if you work out a trade deal with the politically free nations of Westport, and decrease your relations with the rogue nations that threaten our great region."

O'Donnell took another sip from his drink and continued

"I promise you, we can help ensure the safety of your people, and we in Norris Land are very serious about keeping our alliances tight. Please consider our offer, Mr. Kukevich."

O'Donnell raised his glass to Kukevich and then relaxed in his chair, waiting for his decision.

"Let's not make accusations here, gentlemen, this is after all, a peace conference. I assure you, Mr. O'Donnell, that the mobilization was an entirely defensive measure. However I cannot help thinking that your blockade-in-all-but-name of North Fenris is coming dangerously close to an act of war..."

Golsvolner took a sip from his own glass.

"So we must request that you remove the ships to a less... threatening distance. If you do not, then we may request permission from North Fenris to station our own ships their... in order to, shall we say, ease off the situation.
I believe that as Mr. Ojenoc has said, if you truly do not want a war, remove your forces."

Councilman Kukevich, quietly observed the other delegates. Arranging and re-arranging his response. "Most of North Fenris does not want a war. We are to small and peacable to even last long in a sustained conflict. However, we have our pride. We will agree to alliance only under certain conditions. First you do not expect us to change any of our domestice policy, we govern as we do for the best interest of the people of North Fenris. This is non-nogatiable. Second we ask that you be first to withdraw troops from our borders. Once we have witnessed this our own activated divisions will withdraw. The actions of President Ojenoc have garnered a great deal of respect amongst the Council. We would regret any action that threatens Ekathora or an ally of theirs. But I hold by our actions thus far. What say you Mr. O'Donnell?"

Word is coming through of a massive market crash in Jtnibbles, details are still sketchy, but all signs point to the Emperor's death being the catalyst for this crash. The Jipleastani market also took a considerably less hit from this crash due to the investment overseas. Jipleastan's own international fast food chain, Fry Queen, has reported massive losses of profit in Jtnibbles, word has it that they may possibly even close all stores in Jtnibbles. The prayers of many a citizen in Jipleastan go out to the people of Jtnibbles. The Emperor, Lloyd III, has openly declared that it is highly in-advisable to travel to Jtnibbles anytime soon, at least until the situation calms down, he also said that if petitioned, he would send financial, humanitarian, and military aid.

Ojenoc studied the room, tensions were growing, but he knew that they could just as quickly be diffused if the leaders themselves wished it.

"Gentlemen, what I am hearing is wonderful news! At this table we are currently hearing the pleas and the fears of all of our nations here. Councilman Kukevich, I can assure you that Norris Land means no malicious harm and I am certain that they will disengage their military when they are shown a viable path to peace. No one here wishes to topple your government. The comment made by Mr. Prime Minister O'Donnell about relations with free nations was a concern of safety, not of political attack. I for one am pleased Mr. O'Donnell brought this matter up. I believe that our nations should be freely trading with eachother, and if an outside nation that was bent on crushing us all may take advantage of any trades we extend out to them."

"Although I do not wish to break off relations with the west side of Westport, especially in light of the economic crisis in Jtnibbles, but I believe that we should form a bloc of eastern nations together that will unify against any outside foe. Mr. Golsvolner you too should understand our current situation. All of our nations have dealt with tensions in the past weeks and many of us have resorted to arming our military in case there was a terrible war on our island. I assure you as well that Norris Land does not seek war with you as long as you are willing to work with the rest of your eastern brothers. Our alliance will allow all four of our nations together to rise to a level of power we would not be able to sustain with our own individual nations. Gentlemen, although you may see tensions here, I see progress."

A large grin swept Ojenoc's lips, "We all want the same things. We want the safety and sovereignty of our countries, we want the weapons to be put down and a return to peacetime, we want allies here with us, we all want to see peace arise out of this Conference. After all, that is why we are all here. I thank you all for this. And I trust that the continuation of this Conference will yield more progress like that we have already seen."

Ojenoc sat back down and allowed the silence to fill the void where his voice once was. He now folds his hands and allows the Conference to continue calmly.

Counilman Kukevich nodded at the end of Ojenoc's speech.

"You know my conditions. If they are meant in written treaty, I will gladly agree to any agreements of free trade bewteen our nations. We see Ekathora as a friend and would gladly open our borders to facilitate trade between them and their allies of Norris Land. In light of the domestic trials in Jtnibbles, our economies will need bulstering. I can see the advantages of a unified eastern Westport."

Kukevich awaited the responses of the other delegates as he rubbed his chin in thought.

Upon hearing about the market crash and riots in Jtnibbles, President Elggon sent out an immediate telegram requesting that they allow supplies and military support from Norris Land to enter their country to settle the disturbance, meanwhile, Mr. O'Donnell continued negotiating at the conference...

"First of all, our actions in the blockade and moblizing our forces on the border was a precaution to protect our people, not threaten our neighbors. However, to prove that Norris Land believes in peace among our fellow nations in Westport, we will withdraw a majority of our forces on the border (not all) to the nearest major city. As for our blockade, we will remove it in order to open up new trade routes perhaps, but some of our ships will remain in the channel, as our own defensive measures."

I too wish to attend this conference, even though it has already started.


Famus Marek was a highly respected and very eloquent diplomat and ambassador, he was the Emperor's choice to attend the peace conference.
He has 3 Masters Degrees in diplomatic relations and 1 PhD in ambassador studies, and he has been the one who was able to defuse numerous international crises.

If Permission is give for Famus to attend he will be there within a day.

"Ambassador Famus Marek from Jipleastan is very much welcome to attend our Conference for Peace" Ojenoc said into the telephone he was just handed. "Please arrange his flight and hotel in Ekabal. I must return to the Conference room, allow him to come in when he arrives."

Ojenoc smiled at the two Ekathoran security personel. Although they were unarmed, they were deadly. "Allow the Ambassador from Jipleastan in after the standard precautions that everyone else has been subjected to. And please greet him warmly as I will already be in the Conference room."

After they had said of course, Ojenoc straightened his tie and walked back into the Conference room. He smiled at Norris Land's newest statement. Calmly sitting down in his chair once again he began speaking,

"Gentlemen, I have wonderful news to report, it appears that Ambassador Marek is coming from Jipleastan in a show of peace and progress. I have made the arrangements and he should be joining our Conference within a day. Also, I would like to thank Norris Land" nodding to the Prime Minister O'Donnell, "for making progress for peace. We all understand the tensions in Westport at this time, and I believe that this Conference has already begun to defuse the conflict that we have seen grow so quickly in the past weeks. I hope that this will yield us into looking into a possible Treaty and Alliance between our nations. The Alliance of Peace will ensure our national fellowship and hopefully bring about a stronger united bloc of the east that will be able to protect each other from any outside incursion. I look forward to continuing this Conference and I ask all members to remain objective and to think of the greater good."

With a grin, Ojenoc once again yielded the discussion to his peers...

Famus was ready to board his diplomatic jet when the OK came through. He, along with his 100 man bodyguard quickly got onto the jet and it took off. It would be less that 3 hours to reach the conference.

Three hours pass, and Famus' jet was ready to land. In a spectacular entrance into the skies around the airfield fireworks were launched from beneath the jets belly toward the aft of the jet they exploded in an array of the Jipleastani national colors, red, yellow, and green. After that the jet descended onto the runway and slowed to a halt.

After Famus had gotten out of his jet, he made his way to the room in which the conference was being held. When he reached it, his aide knocked on the door and let the guards know that Famus had arrived. They opened the door, Famus walked in and simply said, "Hello, Gentlemen".

All heads turned toward the door as the Ambassador stepped in. Ojenoc stood up and shook the Ambassador's hand and led him into the room to his seat around the table.

"Please Mr. Famus have a seat. I am so thrilled that you are able to be here with us and support peace. I believe we were right in the middle of working out the plans for a peace treaty and even a possible Alliance of Peace between our nations. So I will once again turn it over to my peers who will continue their discussion."

Famus Marek took his seat at the long table and was deeply engaged with all the other diplomats and ambassadors.
"I believe that the nations of Westport should first all join together a a free trade agreement of sorts, and from that a possible alliance could be formed. This is ideal thinking though, I know that many of our leaders would certainly have nothing in the way of a free trade agreement or alliance anytime soon. However, I believe that we can cooperate and form a great alliance of nations and our future can be a bright and prosperous one. The only way that we can do this is if we all agree upon certain issues that I am sure will soon be brought back to the table for discussion."

Famus leaned back in his seat and just took in all the other delegates' responses and comments.

"I have said my piece. I wait now for action. All the nice words in the world will not remove Norris Land's troops from the border, or their ship's from the coast. And as I have said, with de-mobilization of armed forces, Fenris would open its borders to facilitate trade. There is no more for me to say."

At this point, Golsvolner felt his phone vibrating. He slipped it out.

"Excuse me, gentleman. Yes. Who is it. Okay. What! How serious? Right. Goodbye." He replaced the phone. "Im sorry about that, that was Halget. He says there's been a suicide bombing in Alchaholiaswicksburg."


"THIS IS THE RIOT ACT," screamed Captain Felfner, pushing harder at the barricade. "IF, DURING ANY PROTEST, DEMONSTRATION, OR SIMILAR, NON LETHAL FORCE IS USED, POLICE MAY RETALIATE WITH EQUAL FORCE! DID YOU ALL HEAR THAT?!".

There were boo's and jeers, and one drunkard shouted, "O'course we all heard it, you bastard!".

"Good, Sergeant, feel free to start." Men in boozian military grade gasmasks and body armor emerged from the barricade, armed with shields, truncheons, plastic bullet guns and tear-gas grenades. It was over fast.

"Hows Corporal Gavsol?" "He'll be fine, sir, he had his helmet."

It had all started innocently enough, a protest against the lack of security. Then someone had thrown a brick, and a large number of intelligent citizens had devolved, into a single, dumb, mob. Felfner had a feeling that the man had been from the same group as the bombers.

The target had probably been the monument to the Federation, the organization of provinces tha had become Boozia, but that was a very important symbol, and putting it under guard was part of mobilization. So they had changed target to the Field Marshall Schmaldt memorial. Which was, like the monument, a big tourist magnet. And it was summer. Boom.

The objective was obvious. It had been an aimless blast, desighned to kill indiscrimately. They were pro-war radicals, and were trying to make people too afraid to de-mobalize. So now the army had to be kept on. But how was this ment to start a war? It was obvious they had something planned, probably against Norris land.


"Mr. O'Donnell, it is likely that you will be the target of a terrorist attack, with Boozian weapons, perhaps even our doctorines. Be prepared."

Mr. O'Donnell stood immediately.

"Gentlemen, as you can see, I need to make a phone call. And Mr. Kukevich, I do believe the demoblization of my troops that I mentioned earlier (maybe you missed it?) is in question now. I'll be right back, gentlemen."

Mr. O'Donnell walked away and took out his phone...

*ring, ring* "Hello Mr. O'Donnell, how goes the conference?"

"It seems we have an emergency Mr. President, the security of Norris Land is at stake."

"What? Ok O'Donnell, calm down and explain this to me."

"Turn on the news Mr. President, you'll know what I mean."

Elggon turned on the television in his office and saw the headlines:

TERRORIST ATTACK IN Alchaholiaswicksburg

"Oh my.."

President Elggon immediately picked up the phone and called anyone he could get ahold of in Nova Boozia

"Yes, this is President Elggon of Norris Land, what's the situation there?"

Mr. O'Donnell returned to the table and sat down. He turned to Golsvolner.

"I've contacted Elggon, he's on the phone with your country as we speak."

The International part of the news flipped on and in huge letters flashed.

TERRORIST ATTACK in Alchaholiaswicksburg, Nova Boozia

Emperor Lloyd was astounded and quite dumbfounded as to why this would happen. A call was immediately placed to Famus' aide staff to put guards on double patrols around the area, just to make sure that nothing fishy was going on. A personal call from the Emperor was made to Famus himself.
Famus excused himself from the meeting and went outside into the hallway to speak to the Emperor.
"Famus, there has been a terrorist attack in Nova Boozia's capital city."
"That must be why the delegate from there was on his phone."
"Most likely, but you need to stay on your guard"
"Will do, your excellency"

I am sorry, gentlemen, that was the Emperor, he has informed me of the attack on Nova Boozia.

Mr. Golsvolner, I extend my deepest sympathy for the innocent people of your nation hurt by this brutal attack. If you need any help in any way, or in the event that this attack develops into something larger, do not hesitate to ask for our help, we will gladly assist you in dealing with evil people like these terrorists.

As O'Donnell and a few other representatives were discussing the tragedy in Nova Boozia, a lot of commotion was going on throughout the hall as guards and officials rushed from room to room. A faint buzz was heard outside, but nobody paid any attention to it. As it grew louder, however, concern among the reps rose.

"What's that?" asked O'Donnell

"I'm not sure...I'll go check." One of O'Donnell's guards went towards the door, but was knocked over suddenly when to armed men dressed in Norris Land Army uniforms burst through it.

They ran towards O'Donnell and grabbed him by the arms.

"SIR, we've got orders to take you back to St. Norris immediately!"

"Whats the problem men?"

"No time sir, we have to leave now."

They escorted O'Donnell out the door to the helipad where his chopper was waiting. As the rest of the people in the hall turned to look at each other as to why that just happened, the television in the corner flashed across the bottom:

Councilman Kukevich looked at President Ojenoc. "It looks as if events outpace us. For myself, and North Fenris, I still wish to draw treaty of alliance, at least with Ekathora, and Norris Land by proxy. For peace all we ask is that Fenrisian borders be left empty of military. If this occurs tarrif free trade from the nation will be allowed to pass through North Fenris no matter the destination. We would also be willing to commit to joint military efforts that do not threaten the sovereignty of our nation."

Moments after that was said, 4 of Famus' bodyguard came in. The guard chief told him that he was urgently needed back in Jipleastan.
"Whats the matter?", he inquired.
"There has been a large explosion in Jipleastan National Square. Sir."
"What!? How?"
"We don't know yet, but just as a security precaution we have been ordered to take you back."
"Very well, Gentlemen, we will need to continue this conference at a later date, goodbye, and contact me if any additional progress is made."

Just then, the glass in the hall shattered as bullets rained in. In moments all of Famus' bodyguard was in the room firing back at the aggressors. There had been very remote rumors of a possible assassination of Famus in the near future by a group who call themselves the JDM (Jipleastani Democratic Movement), essentially a terrorist group. They have been more or less squashed in Jipleastan itself, but they branched out into other countries where they are not as much hunted down.

"GET FAMUS OUT OF HERE!", yelled the Chief Guard and Famus was escorted out along with other delegates, and the assassins were killed.

As O'Donnell's chopper was heading out of Ekathora, he heard a distress call come across the radio:

"Mayday mayday, this is guardpost 1, assassins in the building, i repeat, assassins in the building!"

"Good Lord, who called that in?"

"it was the security personel from the conference, sir."

Just then, his cell phone rang. It was the President.

"Mr. O'Donnell, did you get out of Ekathora ok?"

"Yes sir, it seems just in time as well."

"Yes it seems, there's just been a terrorist attack in Jipleastan."

"Jipleastan too? Who could be responsible for all these attacks?"

"Not now O'Donnell, just get back here safely and we'll discuss it in private."

"Yes sir, I understand, we've just crossed the border into--"

The cell phone went dead. The President heard the tone and dropped the phone, fearing the worst.

(30 mins later...)

Mr. O'Donnell, dazed and just gaining conciousness, looks around at the wreckage of his chopper.

Pilot: "Are you ok sir?"

"Yes, I'm fine...what happened?"

Pilot:"an AA gun shot us down. We weren't able to make radio contact before we lost her."

"Where are we?"

Pilot: "A few miles outside of Iso City, North Fenris."

Mr. O'Donnell slowly got to his feet.

Pilot: "There's a medkit in the back, I'll get it for your cut sir, wait here...are you gonna be alright?"

"Yes, just a bit dazed."

Pilot: "Ok, I'll be right ba--"

A gunshot was heard and the pilot fell to the ground. He was dead. 4 armed men emerged from the bushes and ordered Mr. O'Donnell to get down on his knees.

"Get down!"

"oh, why uh...yes, whatever you say...just don't shoot"

"Who are you?"

O'Donnell said nothing

"I said, WHO ARE YOU, and WHERE ARE YOU FROM??"

O'Donnell still didn't reply. The men forced him up and marched him back to their "headquarters"....where he is still being held captive.

At this point, St. Norris was a bigger wreck than O'Donnell's chopper. Rumors began to fly from paper to paper, nation to nation, on who was responsible for these attacks, and of course, the blame game had begun.

"WE HAVE TO GET THAT FIRE OUT NOW!"

"There's no time sir! That building is going to come down, the bomb damaged the foundation on the north side, it WILL fall into the ocean!"

"Evacuate the area then! Is everyone out of the building?"

"No, sir. The second bomb exploded on the 8th floor and we can't get any higher."

"...you mean to tell me there's 32 floors of people up there???"

The young fireman looked down for second..."Yes, sir."

The chief turned away and ran towards the firetruck. He got on the radio...
"This is Fire Chief Johnson Morris, I need a chopper immediately! We have civilians trapped in the upper floors of the Plaza Hotel Tower. The building is on fire and we cannot get them out from the ground."

"Negative Johnson, a chopper won't be able to get near the building with the smoke."

He cursed. He looked around and was stumped. Suddenly, a captain from one of the other departments ran up to his truck.

"Johnson, the captain of firehouse 4 has come up with an idea. Send as many men as you can to the Square Hotel next to the Plaza."

Firefighters had begun throwing ropes from the upper floors of the hotel to the other, and bringing civilians back across them one at a time. Just then, the foundation gave out and with a large crumbling, ear deafening noise, the entire tower fell into the ocean. The remaining men on the ground ran for cover, and some stared at the spot in the sky where a few seconds ago, they had just seen their fellow firefighters rescuing innocent civilians from the smoldering building, which was now a smoking pile of rumble, submerged on the beaches of Seaside.

The Plaza Hotel was one of the most popular resorts in the region. It's occupants were those of all people of Westport, not just Norris Land citizens.

Terrorist Attack on peace conference in Ekathora

Headlines like those were common throughout papers and on TV in Jipleastan. There was some sort of organized effort to cause the nations of Westport to hate each other. It is unsure why anyone would do that... The JDM is possibly responsible for the bombing in Jipleastan Square and the peace conference attacks, but there is also a possibility of any other groups out there.

In total almost 639 innocent Jipleastani citizens had been killed on this bloody day, along with five men from Famus' bodyguard who were killed protecting the ambassador and the other delegates.

Famus was running down the hall with a small group of his bodyguard toward an inner room. The report came over the radio that the assassins had been eliminated, but it was advisable to stay in the inner room. Famus wanted to leave so he asked if they were sure the area was clear... the security sergeant affirmed that the general area is clear, but the area surrounding the complex was unknown. Famus decided to stay for a little longer, he placed a call for a battalion of Jipleastani troops to come in and help Ekathorian security secure the area around the complex.

President Ojenoc could still feel his heart pounding even hours later. His skin tingled and his blood pumped through his veins harder than ever. It was not the fact that he almost died, for the President had fought in the Revolution of Ekathora, and new the cold hand of death before. No, these altered sensations were also due to his confusion and frustration that the Conference had been violently interupted in such a way. Did the terrorists have a Conference for War just before this and planned all this out together? He thought as he was riding down the elevator into the Department of Defense's most secure location. As the door opened several people crowded him, looking over his cuts. They were still bleeding, but Ojenoc was not concerned with them.

"What of the Prime Minister O'Donnell?" Ojenoc said from within the crowd of people.

"He is still not found, and North Fenris has yet to report the situation." the Defense Minister said solemnly.

"Could it have been an attack by North Fenris themselves?" Ojenoc asked cautiously.

"We have no way of knowing that sir."

"And the bomb in Jipleastan and Norris Land?" Ojenoc pushed the doctors away from him annoyingly.

"No further words from them either sir. However the Jipleastanian troops have arrived and begun to create a parameter around both the Conference building and this one." the Defense Minister said, he couldnt help but notice the gushing cut on his President's forehead, but knew better than to get off topic for something as insignificant as that. "And the Ambassador is in the next room, he has requested to stay in Ekathora."

"Thats fine. We should still pursue unity through this time of horror. In fact, I hope these events will bring our countries together." Ojenoc breathed out, then spoke firmly, "Commander, I want you to mobilize the Ekathoran army. I place you in charge of the defense of our borders. No one comes or goes unless it is strictly already affirmed to be acceptable. Those terrorists could very well be here. Mobilizing the army is the only way we can ensure that Ekathora is not taken advantage of during this time. I will tell the international community that this cannot be avoided."

"Yes sir."

"Now, where are all the leaders? Only if we work together can we defeat this evil foe in which we have so brutally encountered. This evil wants to sepperate our nations, and I cannot allow them to succeed."

"Ground control this is Delta One, do you copy, requesting permission to land, over."

As soon as the President's chopper was clear to land, he couldn't sit down any longer. No longer than a moment after it landed Elggon was on the ground and jogging towards the main door. The NL Troops that accompanied him secured his walk to the building. As he walked through the door, he shook hands with President Ojenec.

"Good evening Mr. President. My troops are ready to land and provide extra security around the area."

4 transport choppers carrying a small division of infantry landed around the perimeter of the complex to reinforce the Jipleastanian troops already there.

Elggon turned to the Ambassador of Jipleastan
"I hope your troops don't mind some extra company?"

Elggon's eyes gave it all away. He was clearly worn out, and almost torn apart at the loss of his good friend and Prime Minister, O'Donnell.

"We haven't received anything on O'Donnell's whereabouts. Has your end received anything?"

A large plane circled low over the airport.
"Control, this is Boozian cargo flier 956, carrying a platoon of shock troopers, requesting permission to land and refuel. Over."

Golsvolner stayed down. The five members of his body guard were crouching behind a makeshift barricade. There was no sound, then, so suddenly it all seamed to be happening at once, there were footsteps, a gunshot (one of the bodyguards), and a "hey, no need to get jittery" in low boozian. Two of the bodyguards started to question the squad, while a third told Golsvolner not to get up yet. Eventually, the body guards were satisfied, and the whole entourage made for the nearest lift, while the squads sergeant radiod his superior.
"Hello, this is three, we've found'em."
"Zero to three, get back, refuelings almost done. I’ll get the others.”
The group navigated back to the cargo plane without event, where the other shock-troops were forming a defense perimeter. Boozians wore a distinct uniform consisting of a trench coat, leather boots and gloves, a hefty backpack, a coal-scuttle haelmet, a gasmask and a french foreign legion back-of-the-neck cover. These particular ones had a steely blue coat with black buttons, and black eveything else. Golsvolner hurried up the ladder to the hatch, and immediately asked the pilot to get a line to President Ojenoc. It took a while, but he got there.
“Hello, Mr.Ojenoc, this is Golsvolner. I’m on a plane. Where are you, anyway. Hang on, where about to take off. I’ll call back when where flying.”

Picking up the phone as it rang again, knowing it was Golsvolner in the air, President Ojenoc overlooked the other two leaders in the room.

"Yes Golsvolner, I am so grateful to know that you got out safe and sound. After the initial gun-fight in the Conference building we all got sepperated quite well and good. I am here with the representatives of Norris Land and Jipleastan however, in a location protected underground by all three of our troops combined. I understand that your bodyguards got you to the airstrip and are now in the air, since we have had some serious problems in the air in the last few hours" Ojenoc looked over to O'Donnell, who lowered his head in grief, "So I would rather you be able to get down to the ground again as soon as possible. If you want to continue our Conference in this bunker I can pass you to my Defense Minister, if you wish to return home I will of course understand."

The room fell silent as Ojenoc listened to the question through the phone.

"No." Ojenoc suddenly looked confused, "We havent heard from North Fenris yet... we havent seen Kukevich since before the terrorist attacks... yes of course I understand, we should attempt to make contact ASAP, I agree..."

Ojenoc now listened to Boozia's decision on either going home or joining the Second Conference for Peace in Ekathora, and possibly all of Westport's, most guarded bunker....

"Oh boy he is gonna be pissed"
"Yes he will be"

As they were talking the bombing investigation squad arrived to figure out where the bomb was when it went off.

"Chief, what do you think happened here?"

President Elggon threw his phone across the room, frustrated that nobody in North Fenris would answer. No one.

"I swear, I'll tear that country apart for what they've done! Our armies will topple their cities, crush their armies, and rip their government to shreds!"

Elggon fell back into his chair, taking deep breaths, completely exhausted from his ruthless efforts to find O'Donnell. He then looked up in a ray of hope, or with a final mental decision to destroy everything, it wasn't quite clear at this point. He ran across the room and picked up his phone, which amazingly, still worked.

"Hello, this is Elggon. Yes, cancel all orders to withdraw the blockade, instead, i want the ships moved back into range of South Fenris, and target the city, I want it held hostage.

"What about withdrawing the forces on the border back to the cities?"

"No, send more reinforcements to the North Fenris border, I want them within INCHES of the demilitarized zone, do you hear me? I want bombers armed and in the air on standby! From there, nobody makes a move until you hear from me, understand?"

The Norris Land army was now armed for anything. The bombers of the 88th were fully loaded and could strike at a moment's notice. Armored divisions lined the demilitarized zone, with the regular army divisions running constant patrol of the border. North Fenris was now under seige from the south.

At this moment, I ask that you do not fear. The leaders of the Conference of Peace were scattered at the latest attack on the nations fighting for justice. However we have regrouped ourselves in a mighty Conference once again. The Prime Minister of Norris Land is now in danger. Norris Land has been our greatest ally in these times of conflict. Norris Land has already given an ultimatium to North Fenris. If North Fenris does not comply and does not show any form of help to find the lost Minister than we will be forced to send Ekathoran troops across the border in order to preserve our alliance. This is not the time to waste lives, it is the time to save them. Thank you."

"Mr. Ojenoc, I am afraid I will be needed in Boozia to discuss this with the council. I'll phone you as soon as the resolution is made."


Later, in the council chamber, arguments were flaring.

"We promised that we would move in ships if the blockade was not stopped. Are we not men of our word."

"Perhaps, but Mr.O'Donnell's internment is completely unjustified. I say we mobilize the Sulstwick battlegroup and attack South Fenris."

"I agree about taking Norris lands side, but an attack is too risky and too audacious. It is commiting ourselves to the uncertain."

In the end, it was voted to instigate martial law, but not make any formal sidetaking.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I stand before you hear tonight amidst the chaos that has engulfed our people, our nation, our region. The time has come where we must deal with a traitorous nation, not only to ourselves, but to our allies as well. It was not long ago that the nations of Westport gathered at this very place, where we are now surrounded by our own armies for protection from outside threats, where that very threat was sitting no more than 10 feet away from me.

Yes, my fellow Westportians, the nation of North Fenris has betrayed us all. Innocent civilians have died, leaders were attacked and kidnapped, our thought to be ally has turned their back, and for whatever reason it may be, will not change our determination to destroy them, and bring justice to the terrorists of North Fenris. Our true allies of Westport have pledged their support for Norris Land, and we assure them they will not be let down. I promise you, my fellow Norrisians, my fellow leaders, and all people of Westport, the very federation that has brought terror upon us all, will feel the might and determination of our thirst for freedom for all. Now, and forever, we stand for freedom, your freedom. And for that reason, I hereby declare a state of war on the nation of North Fenris.

As president Elggon stepped down from his podium, the news coverage turned from his speech to more on the attack at Seaside, Norris Land…

Crews tonight have called off the search for survivors in the collapse of the Plaza Hotel in Seaside. The death toll is tremendous, giving more drive to Norris Land’s fury against North Fenris. The death toll (the anchorman looked down, as to keep himself from crying) is as follows:

When the camera turned back to the anchorman, he wasn’t there, and the tv flashed the “Technical Difficulties” screen. The anchorman’s family was in the tower when it collapsed. A week later, he was in basic training for the Norris Land Army.

President Elggon went from the conference room to another room in the bunker, his new command room. He immediately picked up the phone, directly to his generals back in Norris Land.

"General Hennings, this is Elggon. The deadline has passed. You know what to do."

"Yes Mr. President."

The coastline of Norris Land near Seaside turned bright orange for what seemed like forever into the night. The destroyer group stationed at the entrance to the channel opened fire on the North Fenris city of South Fenris. The long range tomahawks rained down on what Norris Land Intelligence thought to be their military installations.

"Alpha wing this is Delta One, do you copy?"

"This is Alpha, go ahead."

"The destroyers have emptied their load on the city, we have the go ahead."

"Copy that."

The 88th bomber wing moved in on South Fenris, their primary target was the power station, out of range of the destroyers. They neared the station and dropped their bombs, plummeting the city into darkness.

President Elggon picked up the phone again.

"The bombardment is over? What's the report?"

"Well Mr. President, the power station is down and most of what we thought were the installations were hit, sir."

"Good, good. I'm...I'm glad to hear they were successful."

Just outside of Seaside, the 4th airlift group was preparing to take the 1st Infantry and 10th armored division to South Fenris, to take the city in the morning.

The soldiers' bodies rocked back in forth, in the somewhat rocky ride to South Fenris. Not much could be heard other than the sound of the motor and the blades above their heads, carrying them to their first and hopefully, not last, mission of the war.

The airlift group approached the outskirts of the city, and thick black smoke could be seen rising out of the ground, and the damage of last nights raids were visible, and the damage came as a shock to the soldiers, then a small sense of accomplishment, that their country was giving North Fenris what they deserved, and they couldn't wait any longer to get a piece of the action.

"Ok men, we'll be landing soon, be ready."

A small jolt signaled that the chopper had hit the ground, and the back hatch fell to the ground allowing an exit for the troops. Row by row they exitted their chopper, and formed up at their rally point. A man standing on the top of a small hill addressed them:

"Ok squads, this is it. What we all have been waiting for. Just a few miles north of our position is South Fenris, which was hit by last nights' raids, we are to go in and do clean up, and secure the city, understood?"

"Sir, yes sir!"

The men and women of the Norris Land Army, 1st infantry division, marched over the hill, and ahead of them were more choppers landing and dropping more troops, and friendly tanks could be seen waiting in the distance to rendezvous.

A regiment of NL troops already in the city were pinned down by sniper fire in a bombed out building, sending radio calls back to the second wave that was said to be just landing outside the city.

"Johnson, I want you to flank that sniper. Covering fire! NOW!"

The men opened fire towards the sniper, while Johnson and another soldier went into another room and to the other side of the building, where he was able to get a clear shot of the sniper...

"I've got him in my sights, one more second"

*crack* The sniper shot Johnsons' partner, and at the same time, Johnson fired a shot back at the sniper, knocking him off his post and out of site. He kneeled down to his partner.

"Charlie? You alright?" (there was no answer, or movement)

The sergeant came into the room where they were. Johnson looked up and shook his head. They all sat there for a moment, completely silent.

Sergeant: "Good job Johnson, you did the best you could."
Johnson: "Thank you, sir. But it looks as if our country has taken it's first casualty."
Sergeant: "And he will not have died for nothing, come on boys, we still have to take out their communications before the second wave gets here."

They walked out of the room, and back into the deserted street, where gunshots could be heard in the distance, and civilians were scarce, at least in this neighborhood, but it was a very large city, and the civilian casualties were sure to be enormous...

The Ekathoran troops were at their battlestations. The barracks was alive with action as drills and exercises were being performed in uniform. The rifles were being taken apart and reassembled, shot, cleaned and reloaded. The Ekathoran troops were most certainly active for duty.

From the office in which he now stood, General Tamon could see the entire barracks. He smiled with pride as he saw the Ekathoran flag waving strongly in the wind above his men. His arms were locked behind his back as he gazed into the courtyard. We are battle-ready. he thought to himself reassuringly.

The phone on his desk rang out loudly. He let it ring a second time before he broke his stare. Stepping backward he lifted the phone off the reciever and put it to his ear. "Yes?"

It was the director of the Black Ops agency DENEB. "What do you mean?"
Deneb had just recently been assigned to infultrate North Fenris in hopes of understanding to potential threat now that the invasion from Norris Land had begun. The General sat down at his desk. "So, they have already taken control?" Tamon's eyes darted back and forth, "They came from within the military then, if they have taken control of it that fast they must have been within the ranks to overthrow the government that fast." This changed everything. "Why are they fighting the Norrisians than?" Because if they make it look like the North Fenris government wanted war, than they would be able to take control and be recognized as the ones that brought order and justice to the government. "What are their desires if they gain control? ...If they are the terrorists that attacked us than we will not side with them. If they are the ones that are bringing this war upon Westport than we must stop them from taking control of North Fenris."

After more information, General Tamon knew what he needed to do. "Thank you, I will get back to you, as of now I will call the President and he will contact the other world leaders about this coup that has taken place in North Fenris. I hope to God that he and the other leaders will know what to do." He hung up the phone and before calling the President with this news, thought to himself, this changes everything indeed....

The First Destroyer battle group was getting under way in the harbor, Its destination was the coast of North Fenris, it was on its way to
bombard the city of Delport, in order to secure a landing zone for the 2nd Army. The 2nd army would then secure the city, and move on the capital of North Fenris. The 192nd Bomber squadron and the 138th Fighter squadron would also move on Delport to further soften the defenses of the city. The 23rd artillery would also move in to bombard the city
with an unending barrage of extremely heavy fire from special Artillery units designed by an ally of Jipleastan, whom shall not be named.

Finally the 5th Naval Reserve unit will move to the northeastern coast of North Fenris and attack and merchant vessels or ships of other nations

General Sergei read the reports with Councilman Scan in disbelief. Councilman Kukevich had gone missing in Ekathora when terrorist attacks began to poor in from the other nations. The other Councilmembers had gone into a secured bunker until peacetime was once more upon the land. Until then Sergei had charge with Scan as advisor.

All the nations seemed to have come to destroy what they percieved to be the weakest military threat, making alliances that held no bearing to common beliefs, or politics. Their words were a farce, they all wanted nothing but more resources, and why not a place such as North Fenris which had kept its nation environmentally sound. Norris Land wouldnt strip mine their own nation so why not us. And simply attacking civilians out of hand. South Fenris and Delport? One a suburb for of white collor workers the other the center of farmland and the fishing industry.

With the tensions of the times evacuation orders had been placed with his specialists in case of that, he debated recalling the ones by Iso City but decided against it just in case. After all it was within Ekathora that Kukevich had gone missing. The civilian populations would be leaving by train as the specialist would attack any supply lines leaxding to NL troops withing the city, hopefully drawing them out and giving the civs more time to evacuate to the refugee camps being situated at the foot hills by Mount Ulver. North Fenris was to large to evacuate he gave his boys there shoot to kill orders. Two Conscript Divisions and Two Guerilla Units. Delport's evacuation should go smoother as no ground forces had landed yet. What frustrated him most was he had no clue where O'Donnel was and all of North Fenris' claims that they did not know and were not involved were lost in the wind.

The economy had been doing great and the Councilmembers seeing the situation had given him a large budget. Army Units and Fighter Units were being mustered at the military base in Mount Ulver at the moment. He only wished he had had time to outfit 1st and 3rd as he would be able to the 2nd.

Segei looked at Scan, "Ready for one more broadcast Councliman."

Scan nodded, "For whatever good it might do."

Scan walked to the camera that would be broadcast unecrypted and open feed, all operating Fenrisian news networks would transmit it as well. He looked somber and tired as he began to speak, "Good day to all of you. This is a cry for help. The tactics employed by Norris Land and her ally Jipleastan have been barbaric. There have been more than a thousand civilian deaths from the indiscriminate bombings, and not one military causaulty. We ask any nation with a heart to come to our aid, and prevent this hostile take over. By ceeding to this sort of fear, you're only giving those terrorists, who outrageously assaulted your countries, what they want. I can promise you we will not take this affront to our homeland. We do not seek vengence, given recent events, but retribution will come if our pleas go unanswered."

Daniel Kukevich could not see and breathing was hard. There was a black hood over his head. He knew he was in a sitting position, with his hands and feet bound, but where? Still somewhere in Ekathora? He could only guess the reasons for his capture, someone did not want the peace the conference had been seeking, but who? He flet tears of frustration welling, but calmed them down. He wondered if there was anyone else out there.

SHOCK WAR DECLARATION!

Today, the council ade the official decision to side with North Fenris and to make a full reinforcement action. An amalgamated battlegroup of twelve frigates, the fleet flagship, and logistics and support is moving to South Fenris to engage Norrisian fleet elements, and land the Alchaholiaswicksburg lights to assist in the fighting. The military has been reformed for invasion capability, and the Nordwick division machanised.

The council, after a lengthy debate, decided that it was entirely possible that a paramilitary militia shot down Mr.O'Donnels chopper, indeed, it seems blindingly obvious that it is the bombers responsible for the recent terrorism, who have suceeded in their violent goals with the help of the eastern nations of Westport. We must maintain peace, says Field Marshall Hallget, but this war is land grabbing, threat elimination, warmongering, with no ideolical, religous or other more just cause than imperialism behind it. He claims that we should open our arms to Fenrisian immigrants and stand by our fellow country to the bitter end.

The phone slammed onto the received. "DAMNIT!" Ojenoc slumped down into his seat, defeated. "Why?" he shook his head, "Why did this have to happen? If it werent for O'Donnell's flight going down we wouldnt have a major regional war on our hands... now everyone is trying to dogpile each other..."

Tamon stood at attention above the desk. His President was upset, something he had not seen often. As Ojenoc massaged his face with both hands, Tamon realized that Ojenoc thought that this was all his fault. He feels responsible for the war that is being raged only a few hundred miles away. Tamon's revelation was confirmed.

"If the Conference hadnt been held here... if it hadent have been held here we wouldnt have this problem. The plane wouldnt have had to fly over North Fenris. I thought I could have discharged the situation... it appears it has only gotten worse." Ojenoc pinched the bridge of his nose.

"It wasnt your fault sir."

"No, it was." Ojenoc stood up and walked toward the door behind Tamon. "And now, because the leaders of North Fenris were here in Ekathora, you tell me that the military overthrew the government there. If this military coup had attacked Norris Land's Prime Minister in order to create this war, than their assention to power is also my fault. If I hadnt held the Conference at all, North Fenris' officials would have stayed there and possibly would have been able to quell the coup. But the coup took power, as our operatives report, and now they have Norris Land's Prime Minister hostage. Norris Land has attacked North Fenris because of this, thinking it was North Fenris' decision to attack their leader. Now I have all that blood on my hands, because I tried to make peace."

"What do you want us to do?"

"Secure the border. Tighten up the regulars and bring all reserve units to the border. I dont want to invade North Fenris before I know everything. I dont want to create more death than I already have."

President Elggon slammed his fist into the wall. In his other hand, crumpled into a ball, was the official declaration of war on Norris Land by Nova Boozia.

"If they want war, they got it. What's the update on our troops being brought back from the western borders?"

"They can be in North Fenris by tomorrow morning, sir."

"That's good, because it seems our troops in South Fenris will be surrounded by both North Fenris and Nova Boozia." Elggon was not worried however, he had confidence in his nations' military, both machines and men.

The destroyer division that unleashed hell upon the city of South Fenris was ordered to turn their sites on the Nova Boozian island city of Sulstwickburg. Part of the 88th bomber wing was moved to Seaside, to be closer in range if the destroyers needed defended, and to launch strikes. The destroyers were reloaded and armed for a second bombardment.

The President was now at his desk, preparing a letter to send to the high command of Jipleastan.

"Mr. Famus,

We are preparing to open up a second front against Nova Boozia. We wish to offer you a business deal concerning military units and or weapons. Please reply as soon as possible.

President Elggon"

President Elggon turned and picked up the phone.

"General, send the order to our troops in South Fenris to hold up and fortify themselves in the city. We're sending in supplies from the air, for both them and the civilians."

"Damn, damn, damn. We are split down the middle, the only way to keep together is two abandon one of the islands. We must do so, too, to stand up to the attack, a Dominant is no match for a Norrisian destroyer. If Ekathora has any real navy, this would be all over, but we can afford to leave Halkswickburg unprotected temporarily. My proposal is to ready everything and strike first. I mean everything. All ships, the Halstwick air group, many even others. Then we attack them and do all we can."

There was a murmer of agreement around the room as Defiant took another lurch. The whole fleet was gathering in the Sulstwick sea, for what was to go down in history as the first naval battle of the Westport conflict.


Field Marshall Hallget, standing on a gmound just above camp, near the Fenris border observed his men. They were grizzled, tough, and ruthless, and no mans feet touched the ground. The first Boozian mechanised division was ready to leap over the border into North Fenris as soon as the council gave the order.

"Sir, we're moving to engage the enemy fleet."

"Right, let them make the first move. Put all hands on deck and prepare for a full naval engagement. Radio the other ships."

The Norrisian Navy moved from preparing to bombard Salstwickburg to engage the Boozian fleet. The air force was put on standby incase any assistance was required, and the Jipleastani Air Force would hopefully assist in the case of an enemy airstrike.

"Ready the anti-air guns, we mustn't leave a thing to chance here." The captain turned back towards the window and his binoculars. He muttered while scanning the horizon. "Westport will see it's first naval battle in this conflict it seems, gentemen, let's not let it be our last."

The 1st infantry was fortified in South Fenris, and the landing sites for the supply choppers had been secured. Lines of civilians waited wearily for their supplies, not quite trusting of these invaders. One leutenant with a megaphone tried to appease the crowd: "WE ARE NOT HERE TO HARM YOU. THESE SUPPLIES ARE FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES, ONCE YOU HAVE YOUR PACKAGE, PLEASE RETURN TO YOUR HOMES AND STAY INSIDE."

Across the city, a tank escorted by a regiment of troops patrolled a quiet street with apartments on both sides. They turned a corner and saw a mob of angry civilians attacking a supply checkpoint. The regiment ran ahead to assist the troops who were once handing out supplies. "Do NOT shoot! I repeat, do NOT shoot! We don't want anymore civilian casualties." The sergeant yelled to his squad.

"Sir, there's too many innocent civilians, i suggest we push the rest of the supplies out onto the street and get that copper out of here."

The troops pushed the rest of the supply packets into the street and the chopper headed to another location. The remaining troops stood back, making sure none of the civilians got anymore out of hand.

Elggon sat back in his chair, his face buried in his hands. "Too many civilians died in those raids, too many."

"Intelligence said they were military targets, sir."

"Yes...they did. I want to know why. Get intelligence on the phone, and tell them to review our next move again before we actually attack. I want an investigation into that department as well."

"Yes sir, and the navy has been fully prepared for the naval engagement."

"Alright, Boozian shall make the first move, and is the airforce on standby?"

"Yes Mr President."

"Good, good...any word back from Jipleastan yet?"

"No, sir."

"Very, well. Oh, and Johnson...send an order to have the special forces sent here, to Ekabal, I have an assignment for them."

"Yes, sir."

He left the room to do as the president ordered. The war was heating up quick, and Elggon didn't know how far his enemies would take it, but he was willing to take it all the way to their capitals.

Some of the troop divisions that were positioned on Norris Land's western borders had arrived in Seaside, and were being organized to push their way into Nova Boozia, once Elggon gave the order.

With that short discussion the naval reserve fleet patrolling off of north Fenris was redirected to the south, and the 1st fighter wing was sent to patrol over the Norris Land ships.

Jipleastan, Im afraid that I cant accept those times. Planes, cuttng across the island, could make an hour at a stretch, but you ships must round the point, and will probably take days. Even if Westport is really, really small, planes move fster than ships, but they have less than a quarter of the distance to travel, so the ratio cant work.Bedtime now, but the invasion begins soon! And NF, please write an army list, I need your help here.

IC: Hallget surveyed an extensive map of South Fenris, in a tent atop his personal command vehicle.

"So I believe we should get the reserve mobilized as a defensive force, plenty of guerillas aswell, and take what’s left to North Fenris, as in the nation, to block up holes and bolster the locals. Then, assuming, the Albese [army slang for navy] get the job done, we invade Norris Land. This army goes first, riding fast, hitting hard, momentarily stopgaps [more Boozian jargon] South Fenris, then all hell, taking on the ghastly, satanic form of General Heiligan and the Alchaholiawickburg lot, reach the city the slow way and do some good old fashioned liberating, as we, with the rest of the army in our dust, triumphantly enter Norris Land, and raid a bit, then pull back to a massing point with the Halkswick division and dig in, wait for Heiligan to catch up, and then attack St.Norris. Cut off the head, and the body will die."

He leaned back, creating an unintentional dramatic pause, and the generals all tried to talk at once. It was risky, audacious, and ingenious by dancing on the edge of insanity, just like Hallget himself, in a way.

"Hang on, chickens run around making a mess, don't they? And worms just make more of themselves. We can't assume anything drastic will happen to morale, can we?"

"They made war over an attack by a parailitary pro-war group, which is very stupid, so I think they have a unique little thing about their leaders. In the end, how many people know the big achievements Scipio Africanus, compared to Hannibal? We do this and no matter the casualties, every man lives forever. Do you want to be forgotten as a bunch of dusty old conservatives?"

He had hit hard. No Boozian wanted to be forgotten.

The Norrisian Destroyers steamed on towards their enemy. Eager for their first sight of naval combat, the crew of the ships anxiously prepared the war machines for what would be the first battle in the Westport Sea.

The Air Force was also notified that they were clear for their operation: bombing the seaports of Salstwickburg. By the time the planes reached the ocean, the enemy fleet would be busy engaging the Norrisian destroyers and the bombers could fly over clear of danger.

The plan was to send the Medium and Long range bombers of the 88th Bomber Wing towards the island city. Once they reached the checkpoint, near the location of the destroyers, the medium range would split off to bomb the enemy's navy, to assist our destroyers in their naval battle. The Jipleastan Air Force will have rendezvous with the bombers at that point and provide escorts for them.

The Troops in South Fenris were ordered to continue their fortification of the city until Jipleastani Troops entered North Fenris in the north.

"I think we have no other choice but to keep them there until Jipleastan has invaded."

"Yes, sir, I agree." stated the Secretary of State.

"I have reviewed the plans for our next move, and I approve. Send the go-ahead to our commanders."

"Consider it done, Mr. President. The special forces will be arriving in Ekabal for your briefing any moment as well."

"Thank you. I will put that plan into action as soon as our bombers and destroyers report back after their missions."

The war was building day by day. What started as a peace conference was now almost a full fledged war.

----------------NORRIS LAND INTELLIGENCE FLAW---------------
After the incident in South Fenris, the Norris Land Intelligence Agency was investigated, due to the deaths of thousands of North Fenrisians in the bombardments by the Air Force and Navy. The investigation revealed that intelligence located and specified significant targets in the city of South Fenris that should be bombed, but they also marked out targets that were to be steared clear of due to high civilian presence. However, intelligence did not specify the difference between the targets, resulting in the bombardment of all locations. President Elggon, still held up in Ekabal, was not available to comment on this situation. The intelligence department has been minorly reorganized as to prevent this from occuring again.

IC:"Okay boys, the plan," said Marshall Kusdadt, "is to move Halkswick group south by sea, leaving Sulstwick group free to defend the fleet against enemy air raids, and order the Fenrisian airforce, twice as powerful as our own, to launch half their planes and intercept the Jipleastani aircraft, with the other half moving to Sulstwick airport and then dividing, sending a group to protect the fleet and keeping a group defensive. Meanwhile, all Gurstwick and Nordwick planes are to launch and intercept the Jipleastanis, before moving to the island and fleet, respectively. Ahem."

Two of the Marshalls got up and ran to the command room.

"Meanwhile, with their air cover distracted, Hallget will attack South Fenris, rally all Fenrisian troops, and attack St.Norris. He believes that a decisive early strike will knock Norris Land out of the war, in the long term. Assuming that our service and the navy still exist after this battle, we cover the navy in a blockade of Seaside, to relieve stress on Hallget. Oh and one last thing, Alchaholiaswickburg group is to move to the fleet,and the that should even up the f/b ratio. In the event of true victory on Sulstwick, every plane, operating from there is to assist the fleet. Hallget, finally, will attemp to errect ack-ack and destroy enemy airfields in South Fenris, preventing concentrated attacks like this and forcing our foes to addopt a blitz-like strategy. That is all."


Hallget's collumn, the rest of the army behind, leapt over the border. Soon they would reach South Fenris, and all hell would break loose. The APCs ground ahead, infantry in their wake, artillery at the rear. The mechanised would reach the city in hours, and the infantry would soon follow. With siege guns. The attack was to be short, and the Fenrisians would mop up, but Hallget wanted most of them for the St.Norris attack.


The fleet stood ready, waiting for the enemy to come to them. Admiral Falsterg's hand was hovering over the alarm, every man was at his action station. The fighters circled overhead, like vultures. It was today. Every man could see so. Today, they were going to win the war, or loose it.

The military bases of Mount Ulver were in a state of organized chaos. The re-organization, and re-equipment of the forces had been completed, and orders were being issues. As General Sergei flipped through intelligence document he was filled with respect for the Boozians who had taken the heat off of North Fenris and bought them the time to establish an effective military force.

First to take his attention were the two Sukhoi Su-27 fighter groups. Group One was sent to intercept the Jipelstan Air Force. Group Two was re-assigned to the more prepared Nova Boozian intelligence, flying towards the navy emplacements, Commander Ragar was given orders to heed the Boozian Admiral there. Group Two had also replaced two of their R-27 AA missles with X-29L/T air-to-land missles.

Next he he contacted his two Captains of the Veteran units in the Mountains between Noth Fenris and Nova Boozia, they were given order to start an attack onto Norris Land soil, however keeping the movements secret and the amount land to be marched would delay the force greatly. Sergei was quoted an optimistic eight days. One of the units in the Iso City region was to be relocated at Delport, reinforcing the two units already there. Of the two units at South Fenris already there was no word, it can only be hoped that they had followed orders to remain out of the city and assault military convoys going in.

Lastly, the 2nd infintry division was sent south to reinforce the 1st and 3rd at North Fenris City. 3rd division was given orders to march south upon the 2nd's arrival and take up positions on the Norris Land side of South Fenris.

The two army divisions at the western borders had finally been regrouped in Seaside.

"Ok men. Glad to see you're all finally awake. Now, Division 1, you will be heading to St. Norris for the next few days. And Division 2, we will be marching into Nova Boozia from Seaside, and then split, half of us will head to South Fenris and the other half will continue into Nova Boozia."

The Airlift group had just landed to the north of Seaside, to take the division of troops to St. Norris, where they would meet with the rest of the tank division.

The 88th had been over the water for awhile and the bombardier came over the radio.

"Bombardier to pilot, destroyers spotted at 10 o'clock."

"I see them, over. Beta group, this is your que"

The lead plane of the medium range bomber group radioed back

"Copy that alpha one, we'll be seeing you."

The medium bombers split off from the rest of the group and headed towards the Nova Boozian Ships, to soften them up for our own Navy.

The long range bombers continued on towards Salstwickburg, to commence their bombing of the seaports.

"Pilot to radio room, any contact yet?"

"No sir, the Jipleastan planes haven't arrived."

"They should be here anytime now, we're getting into hostile territory..."

Hallget's column was nearing South Fenris. He could see it throgh the largest of his binoculars. The logical next step for the Norrisian army was to try and take the city, it was a long range airbase, a border foothold, and it prevented the enemy from taking those advantages. His idea was to commit the majority of his forces to the Blitzkrieg, and catch his foe on one foot.
"City sighted!," yelled the point vehicle's commander. He was using his naked eyes.


All across Boozia, there was a mass scramble, every pilot available rushing to his craft. The western cities launched first, followeed by the islands. The capitol was last. The Fenrisian group followed soon, and Kusdadt decided to commit about a third to the island, and the rest to Falsterg and the fleet. They were ordered the following priorities, in this order: protect the ships, protect yourselves, destroy the enemy.
"Admiral, every fighter is ready."
"Good, move slowly towards the enemy fleet, with weapons ready."

Sorry for the delay in communication, Thanksgiving break had me seperated from my computer. Sorry again, this time for overlooking the unit limitations based on population. Also my economy fell to reasonable. I will say though defense is the main priority, whenver an issue comes along i choose it over both education, welfare, and taxcuts. It shows a little bit in the profie, why it isnt showing more i cant say.

130 SCRAMJET missiles were launched at the incoming enemy fighters. The chances for many surviving were slim to none.

100 miles away the 1st naval reserve group was coming in fast towards the battle. SONAR and RADAR was just starting to pick up Nova Boozian ships. The orders were given to launch a volley of 25 Tomahawk Cruise Missiles at the enemy fleet. They were lauched, cruising at about 550 Mph. They would reach the enemies with very short notice.

"Haha, the cavalry has arrived!"

The crew of the bomber cheered as the Jipleastani planes jetted over their formation. Their excitement quickly went away and their focus was back to their mission. The enemy destroyers were quickly approaching.

"HQ to Beta one, over."

"This is Beta one."

"We need you to split your formation, Boozian troops have been sited heading towards South Fenris and we need you to bomb their position."

"Copy that sir." He turned his radio to the other planes.

"Beta group, we need to split formation. There is artillery targets en route to our boys over in South Fenris, and they need a little softening up."

The formation of medium bombers split-40 of them headed north to South Fenris, while 60 continued onto the Boozian ships. After the other bombers split for Fenris, the rest prepared for their bomb runs.

"Open bomb bay doors. Bombardier, you have the controls."

..The destroyers...

"Sir, the enemy fleet is in range, should we launch the tomahawks?"

"No, we may hit one of our bombers, I don't want to take the risk. Wait until we're closer."

"Yes, sir."

...Same time, South Fenris...

"Sir, the enemy troops are approaching, we can be expecting artillery shelling soon."

"Ok, tell everyone to get into fortified locations and keep their heads down. Where is our air support?"

"They are headed up from the south sir, ETA is about 2 hours."

He cursed. "Alright men, we'll have to hold out until then. Fortify yourselves and prepare for the Boozian troops to enter the city."

The radio in the corner made a light buzzing noise and the sergeant tried to answer anyone trying to get them.

"Yes this is sergeant Anderson, over."

"Anderson this is command, the 402nd is headed into Nova Boozia, they will split and head up north to your position in a few days."

"Copy that sir, over and out. Ok, men, we haven't been forgotten. In a few days we'll be all over this war." He smiled and turned back to his binoculars in the window. "We just have to make sure we give the enemy their own peice of the action."

The rest of the 3rd division of NL troops, that weren't spread all over the nation, had landed in St. Norris, along with the remains of the 1st armored division.

"Alright men, you know what to do. Make this city a steel box."

OOC:Jipleastan, NF reformed his military, look in the OOC thread. I didn't intend these last few post's to span days, I had intended to fight the battle soon, and your ships still seem mighty fast, but whatever, I like a challenge. Norris land, sorry for picking your casualties, but half a patrol makes no real differance in a war, does it? Not nearly as much as some impolite things going on.

IC:"Move back! Do not continue! Move All Vessels Back!," bellowed Falsterg.
"We must fall back to the harbor and fight them under Sulstwick's guns. When all our ships are in, block the harbor. Booms, yachts, oil drums, just set up a barricade of some sort. They will sneak past us, probably, and we can shadow them. If Hallget acts fast enough, we might just make it."


Hallget watched from atop a tall building in South Fenris as his army entered. It was a strong force, and he could trust the men who made it up. A very good army. And one which already had it's orders.

In a war-torn working class neighbourhood, the patrol stalked it's prey it was happening thoughout the city, while in other places, large, mechanised unit's attacked well held areas. Every division save the Amalgamated was there. Rifle three, Mergson, had his sight's on the enemy corporal. Sgt Fertater made a silence signal and gestured to his squad to pick targets. It was at exactly this point that a loose screw in Mergson's stock came free. The prey all spun round instantly, and Mergson fired. He was hit with three bullets a second later, as the others lept for cover. Two of them wrestled with the machine gun, while a Norrisian ran forward then ducked into an alcove. Rifles two and four lay low, weapons resting on the sill of the destroyed window before them, and let fly. A Norrisian was hit in the chest, another dodged. Then two let out a small gargle and went a little more prone than he should have been. Four spun round and fired on an impulse, scraping the unseen enemy's shoulder, and all hell broke loose.

The machine gun tore into life, belching forth bullet after bullet after bullet. No enemies were actually hit, but they dived into the largely intact building on the right, and the boozians followed, except four, who ran into the ruin on his left, screaming incoherently about his lost best friend, ran straight into the sniper, bayonet first.

Back in the other building, One got a bit over enthusiastic, charging too far ahead, but the jittery young Norrisian's aim was shacky, and One was shot through the leg, crippled instantly, but not dead, and with time to fire. The enemy ducked round a corner, and there were a few menacing clicks, followed by a gurgle, as Four fired through the window, felling an opposing machine gunners. Then there was an explosion, as the remaining Norrisians mouseholed the wall, and silence.

"We're approaching the ships...steady now. Stay with your targets...bombs away!"

The medium bombers dropped their payload on their targetted ships. The 500lb bombs rained down upon the enemy's fleet.

...The Destroyers

"Captain, the Boozian ships are turning around!"

"We can't let them get away, it will come back to haunt us. Fire the tomahawks now!"

The fleet of destroyers let loose a volley of tomahawks, which jetted straight up out of the deck and arced immediately in the direction of the Boozian ships, each destroyer assigned a different target in the enemy's navy.

...In South Fenris

A wounded soldier crawled towards the radio on the table. He grabbed the transciever in hopes of contacting someone, anyone, but was only able to mutter the words "squad down...i repeat, squ-" then he was shot in the back.

"Do you see them?"

"Yeah, i have them in my sites..."

A tank down a few blocks and sitting between a tree and a building had seen the fighting, and was targetting the building that the enemy troops were spotted in. More troops were grouping together in the building secured by the tank to prepare a counter attack.

"Confirmed, those are Boozian troops sir, they seem to be searching that building for more of our boys."

"There aren't anymore of our men in there, prepare to fire."

The tank was loaded, and fired a shot into the first floor of the building. With that, the Norrisian troops stormed down the street and towards the building.

Outside the city, a small group of troops were frantically radioing enemy troop positions to the bombers.

"This is Beta four, we read you, enemies sited."

The bombers approached the city the targeted the buildings and areas where enemy troops were sited.

"Bombs away, i repeat, bombs away!"

The Norris Land Air Force dropped bombs on enemy military forces for the second time in that day, which would hopefully prove effective.

"We're dry, heading home. Good luck down there."

"Over and out Beta four, have a safe trip home."

Norrisian tank columns throughout the city were called to the Southern front, where they would reinforce the large number of troops already heading in that direction. Spuratic fighting was heard throughout the city. And occasionally, a tank could be heard firing into a fortified enemy position. A large regiment heading through downtown South Fenris was closest to the action.

"Ok men, remember your training! We're approaching the front lines! Be ready, and leave no man behind!" a long chain of explosions were heard in the distance, and the roaring sound of bombers was heard overhead soon after. "Alright, thats our que, move ahead and take offensive positions!"
The troops moved ahead and took vantage points in the buildings and on the street, setting up machine guns.

"Boozian troops sited! Move in!"

The troops opened fire from their positions, and the machine gunners wreaked havoc on the street and anything in it.

"GRENADE!" A grenade bounced into one of the machine gunners' positions and they ran back to another position when it exploded. The gunner and his spotter were hit and killed. Two men went up to them to see if they were ok, and pulled them inside the nearest building while the battle outside intensified.

At sea, the ships, stil waiting for the Jipleastani intercepters, were throwing all their defenses and countermeasures behind them as they neared the harbor, and the garrison guns had been ordered up to the port for extra defense. As the last ship entered, a roped together mass of bouys and trawlers was tugged across by a landing boat, and the frigates spun to face their foe.


Back on land, a squad of heavy weapon troopers had stumbled upon an enemy tank, and were lurking in the alley network between the main streets it was traversing, waiting for a chance to get the jump on the vehicle.

Hallget's men on the south front were grouping behind a makeshift barricade, while the mechanised troops were being loaded up for a lightning raid on the section command post.

The 1st Naval Reserve group was now within range to use their Electromagnetic guns to pound the Boozian ships in their harbor without and fear of being hit by Boozian fire.

"Commander! We are in gun range of Boozian targets!"
"Very good, order the JS Bomaroua, the patrol boat to send the envoy to give them their terms of surrender."
"Yes sir!"

A small craft, unarmed, set off from the Bomaroua to give the papers for the unconditional surrender of all Boozian ships to Jipleastan

OFFICAL SURRENDER DOCUMENT
When this document is signed all Boozian ships shall fall under control of Jipleastan, and all Boozian defenders of Sulstwick shall also surrender. You are outnumbered and outgunned. You have no chance to survive. If you choose to sign this document, you will be taken as a POW back to Jipleastan and you will be treated fairly under the rules of the Geneva Convention. Should you choose to not sign this you will be obliterated and your nation will fall to ruin. Choose wisely, your survival as individuals and as a nation depend upon your signature or lack of one.

OOC: As I said, I was throwing every defense system behind me. That's a fair load of chaff, and I never said I wasn't battered. And about those jets, I have a feeling you forgot something cough, attack by large fighter force mysteriosly ommited, cough,

IC: "We cannot win, but we can atleast have a small victory. We shall stand fast here, and if they near us, fire everything. Do what can be done, and when there is nothing left, scuttle the ships. We can atleast keep these vessels out of their hands. And Hallget tells me that South Fenris is going well. He says that he shall move Fenrisian guerillas to defend the homeland, and press on. There is always hope, men. Tell the messenger to tell his master we say no. Then we give them a real battle!"


APCs trundled along the street, gunfire crackling all around. The vehicles crawled past as a barricade was shoved down the road by a CEV, infantry following in it's wake. Snipers stalked tanks, tanks crushed infantry, and infantry massacred snipers. And through it all, pistol blazing, sword swinging, came Captain Felfner, 17th Halkswick fusileers. He grabbed the rear of the barricade, as the vehicle stopped, and tossed a grenade over. There was a scream, and the Boozian's poured over the crude wall. Gun's roared.

Hallget's team halted in a street near the enemy forward command post, and the infantry dropped from their vehicles and advanced, stealthily, with the APCs creating a mobile wall behind them.

"Fools, very well then... Order all ships to open fire!"

"Send a message for all ships to open fire with everything they have, AND STAY OUT OF BOOZIAN RANGE!"
"YES SIR!"

With that all 30 vessels opened fire with guns ranging from 120mm EMGs to huge 20" EMG cannons. Missile ship JS Harbinger received the order to fire and let loose with a barrage of Tomahawk missiles.

The long range bombers of the 88th were nearing the harbor on the island. Their object was clear: to disable the enemy's ability to use the port, and stopping anything from getting off the island via ship.

As they got a closer view of the harbor, they noticed the Boozian navy ships heading in for cover, and scrambling to create a barracade.

"Bombadier to pilot, i thought the Boozian ships were at sea?"

"I thought they were too but it seems they've returned to get an advantage point over our navy, seems they fallen right into our sites. Prepare for the bomb run."

The B-52's slowed their speeds and opened their bomb bay doors.

"Okay bombardier, it's in your control."

"Copy that. Steady now, almost in line...alright, hold it there. And...bombs away!"

The formation released their payload on the enemy port, where the Boozian ships had taken cover from the Norrisian destroyers and Jipleastani forces. Thousands of bombs rained down from the large formation of b-52's.

South Fenris:

The tank unsuspectingly rolled through the streets, looking for it's next target. Suddenly a large impact was felt in the rear by the crew and it burst into flames. They frantically climbed out the top, only to be shot one at a time. A group of soldiers ahead of the tank heard the explosion and turned their sites on it's attackers. "Fire at will! take out that mech infantry!" The troops fired in the direction of the alley, and advanced towards the fallen tank.

Two men took control of a fallen soldiers machine gun, and let all hell break loose on the enemy troops. Round after round of bullets flew towards the enemy, when the gun overheated. They grouped up with the rest of their regiment and searched out the nearby buildings for enemy troops. "Johansen, take these two and check that building there." The men ran cautiously into the building and out of site. Gunshots where heard across the street, and a few men ran inside to check it out. They entered the room and saw two of their fellow soldiers ducked behind a table while a few Boozian troops were firing their way. The soldier that opened the door was shot and killed, the men behind him took cover. One soldier motioned to the other two to clear the room. "get out here, quick. covering fire!" They fired into the room while their men ran out, and then the sergeant threw a grenade into the room and shut the door. The soldiers on the street saw the explosion and the window being blown into the street.

Back in a more quiet, undiscovered neighborhood, a tank column was being assembled to move on the enemy front. The tanks lined up and were refueled in preparations for their counter attack. 16 tanks in all, they were ready to unleash their armored fury on the enemy. More tanks were en route, as they were being called in from anywhere in the city that wasn't under attack.

You can't stay out of range, and if you read the post about Kusdadt's battle plan, you will realize that your airforce was attacked by a numerically superior ambush force of both our (me and NF's) airforces, and should not of got here in any numbers. And this "weapon"... just ask the victim before nuking, okay.

IC: "This is Unyielding's bosun, the captains dead."
"This is Captain Fallinjer, we just lost our port spitter."
"Commander Dandealer here, armor heavily damaged."
"Shut up about bloody damages! We're all dead anyway!"
The exasperated Falsterg collapsed into his chair.
"No more missiles, sir."
"Move forward and fire the guns. Smash the barricade. No-one is to abandon his post until the CIWS is empty. Fire everything."

A huge cloud of missiles spiralled towards the enemy. It was'nt enough, Falsterg knew, there were too many, and too much chaff. But he could hopefully damage their carried troops, If there were any. If there were any, they'd been fools to fight him, rather than invading immediately.

"I hope, captain, that we are remembered as men who did enough. Such a rare honour, and such a great one. Hey, that was quite a good quote. Tell others I said that, won't you?"

The bridge exploded.

The automated Vulcan mini guns roared to life, and the AMS batteries unleashed their missile payloads. A wall of lead and missiles was all that stood between the Jipleastani fleet and the Boozian missile salvo. It would be highly unlikely for many of the missiles to get through, but some, sadly, would.

"Commander, we have detected three missiles that have breached the defenses."
"Where are they headed?"
"Seems to be the JS Jiminil, the JS Dergran, and this ship!"
"Good God."
"Impact in 30 seconds"

With that the entire ship rocked and the bridge took a direct hit, however, due to hardening of the bridge and the high importance personnel being in the battle bridge, behind a meter of steel not many casualties were taken.
The JS Jiminil took a hit to her rear gun, and the Dergan took a hit to her bow with minimal damage.

30 air to ship missiles launched at the Boozian ships in an attempt to knock out their will to fight.

--------On the Ground near Seaside, Norris Land.---------

The First armored division, and the 23rd Army was rolling into the area after traveling for days across Norris Land to reach the Boozian border. Their objective was to attack Nordwickburg after relieving the Norrisian troops in South Fenris. In total there were 5000 DM-41A2 Caesar tanks plus 12,300 standard infantry. They expected little resistance from Fenris, however Boozia would be a slightly harder nut to crack, but they were top-notch troops, they were ready for anything the enemy had to throw at them.

OOC: The naval battle is degenerating into a contest of one-upmanship and desperate attemps to ignore each others previous post. I must say I am largely guilty as charged, but I do feel somewhat miffed here. Let's get it over with. Incidently, just how much of your army is in South Fenris? Four divisions and artillery support is a lot to hold against. And NF, is this a winding alleys type of city, or what. Urban warfare is the doom of the AFV, which we have both been abusing severely, making unbacked assumptions about suitability.

IC: Another frigate began to sink. It had scuttled itself, and the descent was almost graceful, asthough it had been ment to be a submarine, just adding a slight downward shift to forward momentum. That was seven now, and five crippled and ready to scuttle. The flag captain, from behind an emergency bulkhead, was having these thoughts: I'm dead, so's everyone. There's no ammo left. Gotta die with a little style, at least.

There, he thought, I said it, I gave the generations least sane order. I always wanted to do that, in a way. He loaded his pistol, but was he actually going to use it? Probably not, but the show must go on.

The mech infantry, their attack revealed, were riding the rooves of a mobile barricade of APCs, advancing. The SAWs has been crudely lashed to the rooves, but the crew were too valuable to expose themselves. Fire came from APC autocannons and squad grenade launchers.

OOC: I think North Fenris has dropped out, he hasn't replied in awhile. And since the biggest part of this RP revolves around him, we really can't go on without NF. Perhaps we should restart this RP, or continue in a different direction, with Ekathora's absence and all. This is a really good RP, mostly because of the nations involved, we just had some misfortunes with absences and misunderstandings.

I think your right. Maybe the coup idea degenerates into mass civil disorder, terrorism runs rife in Ekathora, and us three are still, what can I say, "greavously misunderstanding one another." That sounds like a fairly interesing and plausible situation. What do you think?

Sounds about right. Perhaps we should rewind this rp...or we could fast forward to the future and make up something that happened and where we are then...or, just completely start a totally different nothing to do with this one RP.

Forgive me, that was getting a bit out of hand, but you have'nt lost any(no hard feelings, it's fairly believable).And I have lost seven, if you check other posts, plus five which are effectively just taking up space, which is over half. And there are also two destroyer losses, and my admiral is dead, so I think I'm in realistic, if best case amounts of shit.

Sure was a lot that was done and I do indeed wish to continue this. If everyone wants to try at another one or something I am game for it. If not we can at least attempt to continue at this one. >>>
