In the darkness a squadron of Monarch Class SSNs snuck out of the ports heavily guarded exist, the HMS Mary, HMS Martyr, HMS Metric, HMS Master, and HMS Mutton. They headed due northeast, at a speed of 29 knots surfaced. The five submarines, identical, were only two hundred metres apart in a perfect delta formation, both their ensign flags fluttering in the howling night wind, as the unlucky watch officers rubbed their eyes and drank coffee, awaiting what had been picked up on GPS two hours earlier. The Submarines were the first deterrent against an invasion from any quarter, as they all carried the powerful nuclear-propelled torpedo Swordfish. The Swordfish was designed to take out capital ships at long range and this was exactly what the squadron was planning.

HMS Mary
"Sir, enemy ships in range off the bow, bearing 320 degrees, long range, closing."

The SONAR officer reported.

"Affirmative - submerge, submerge. Give orders, relay SONAR and torpedo solutions. I want those launchers aremed and ready within six minutes, Ensign."

The steadfast Captain of the Mary, Flank Captain Aran Walters, ordered. His orders were achieved with minimum fuss, and with the time allocated, the submarine squadron had turned about to face the Hatarians a good 95km away. Their guided torpedoes could easily reach this range, thanks to the nuclear propulsion. Once they hit, the 28" monsters could rip holes in Destroyers and Frigates enough to send them to the bottom, and a few could knock out capital ships with ease. The torps would dive to 25 metres initially, running so smoothly they would be hard to detect until the closing moments. When they neared a kilometres to the enemy ships, they would turn upwards and smash into the keel of the enemy vessels.

"Do we have firing solutions, Weaps?"

"Yassir. We can open fire any time."

"Then do so."

Each of the five submarines had eight torpedo tubes, and each fired them off. Unless the Hatarians had magical detection, they would not detect these torps until it was too late. Three minutes later, yet another salvo erupted from the submarines, and they slowly turned back to Singapore, fully confident in at least ten mission or total kills.

Singapore Airfield, 14:42 AM QMT
"Uniform Charlie Two, you have permission to take off, over."

The eighteenth aircraft in the squadron, and the last, took off and sped into the air to join it's formation, the first of the next squadron about to take off from the mammoth airfield. Shortly, 54 EF-2000 Eurofighter aircraft were the air and heading in three delta formations towards the Hatarian fleet. When the aircraft were in range of their new weapons: the Brimstone (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/europe/brimstone.htm) tactical missile, they each launched eight, the designated amount for this airstrike, at the Hatarian escorts. Each aircraft was spread out at least thirty metres from each other, providing their launched missiles to come out in a perfect pattern which would be harder for the Hatarians to intercept. In addition to these missiles, each aircraft launched two RADAR jammers - these would have no effect except for flying over the Hatarian fleet and jamming their RADAR to make interception exceptionally harder. The planes, once their missiles were launched, turned for home to refuel.

[OOC: I've launched 432 brimstones against your fleet escorts, in addition to that, 108 RADAR jammers, where every other one will drop chaff occasionally and the other specialises in jamming. It would take about four of these missiles to destroy a destroyer or a frigate, which they are launched at In addition to that I have launched 80 28" nuclear propelled torpedoes at your fleet - each is guarenteed a kill against a fleet escort and about three woould kill a CVN.

Greetings
How dare you declare war on our nation, implying it is OUR fault, when clearly, a fleet of over TWENTY FIVE of your capital ships was bearing a course directly to OUR colonies?

Your declaration of war is pathetic and in retalation I shall see, personally, the Hatarian Governor of Hong Kong hung, drawn, and quartered, unless you repeal your declaration of war, apologise, and pay for the munitions used against your fleet.

Official Statement

His Majesty’s Government would like to take this opportunity to condemn the barbaric attempt by the Hatarian government to paint the United Kingdom of Questers as the aggressors in the evolving conflict despite the incontrovertible evidence to the contrary that proves Hatarian ships leaving Hong Kong en masse on a route that would take them towards Singapore.

While His Majesty’s Government will not be committing forces to either side in this conflict, our moral and diplomatic support falls wholly with Her Righteous Majesty Clara II’s Government – the victim of Hatarian aggression.

The Ferry was soon coming to The Ferry Dock, just two miles from the so-called Floting Airport. (It was a Island to be correct.) Majordomo Grandis Granva, a Italian-Hatarian, was waiting for The New General, Asuka Langley Sohryu her self. Grandis's two Lackies, Sanson and Hanson, were behind her. "I hope the general isn't one of those Idiots like Ming Asakura." Grandis said.

The Ferry soon came to a stop and the people waited to see the new General....

BAM!

The Door of the Ferry was kicked opened as Asuka came out........in a School Uniform. The Reason was that her Suitcase was lost somewhere in Havana Airport. and had someone elses. She was now one Pissed off General.

As a member of the Commonwealth and a ally of Quester, we stand behind our friend. If Hataria does not cease it's aggression against allied colonies, Velkyan naval and aerial forces will be marshalled against her in support of our allies. A task force consisting of elements of the High Seas Fleet and Velkyan Marines is currently being formed, and if Quester peace arrangements are not met, they will be put into action.

With Hataria now at war with Quester, The Hatarians soon started to put their plan in to action. The Plan is to draw the enemy into a Naval War, and forceing them to strech their Navy thin. The Next time Hataria attacked, The Enemy Naval forces would streched to far to stop them.

Already, The Hatarians started senting Armed Cargo ships to attack enemy shipping around the world. The Ships would use Surprise against the enemy, flying a Nutrual Flag then once close to the enemy ship, Show its guns and missile Launchers and fire.

The Naval War had begun..................

This was no surprise deployment: The largest assembled fleet in Questarian history was now leaving Singapore Harbour under ferocious flag waving, cheering, and bands playing Rule Britannia, God Save the Queen, and Land of Hope and Glory. The flagship of this fleet was the gigantic HMS Daring, a Dreadnought class Superdreadnought, the pride of the Questarian fleet. Along with it were nearly sixty submarines, eight hundred destroyers and frigates, fifty cruisers, ten aircraft carriers, eighteen battleships, and three superdreadnoughts. The massive fleet, nearly all of Singapore's mobile defences, left port in formation, the escorts scanning radar and sonar for enemy activity. The fleet's capital ships were together with the large destroyer/frigate escort spread out around them: if the Hatarians tried any attack, from the air, the surface, or the subsurface, they would have to attack the escorts first. Throughout the formation AORs and AOs dotted the defensive pattern, ready to refill missiles fired from the surface escorts. The fleet, steaming ahead at convoy speed of 28 knots, changed their bearings directly ahead to Hatarian Hong Kong.

Singapore Airfield, 14:42 AM QMT
"Alright Commodore, you are checked in. Flight approval to level one." The huge Varrex Vanguard Heavy Strategic Bomber pushed it's engines into full throttle, the pilot wiping his forehead as the Malayan sun beat down onto the open cockpit. The craft was long and swept back with two tailfins right at the back with a thruster beneath each one. It was beautiful, in a fuzzy sort of way. As the plane passed the three kilometre mark it took off, the six massive engines lifting it into the sky for it's first combat mission. The other two planes of it's Flight followed, not too far behind the first Varrex Vanguard - Victor One One. The planes were hypersoars by any measure, a combat height of 70,000 feet would allow them to escape Hatarian primary interception before it was too late. They passed over clouds and blank, gushing, sea, before reaching Hatarian Hong Kong. Approximately eight hundred metres

The Hatarian Radar system that spaned the Coastline of Hatarian Southeastern China was ready to detect any enemy planes and ships threating The Territory. The Hatarians would be ready for any attack that might happen. Hatarian Planes were patroling the skies of S.E China, waiting for any enemy attacker who was foolish to dare try attacking Hong Kong.

In the South China Sea, Hatarian subs prowled the Sea, ready to attack any enemy Fleet.

In Hatarian Hong Kong, The Hatarian East Asian Imperial Fleet was based in the harbor.

One sub, Patroling Near Malayia, spotted the over sized enemy Fleet and radioed back to Hong Kong.

Hong Kong.

"a Dreadnought class Superdreadnought, sixty submarines, eight hundred destroyers and frigates, fifty cruisers, ten aircraft carriers, eighteen battleships, and three superdreadnoughts? Coming here?" Tell our Base in Hainan to be ready and order the EAIF to start massing, once the enemy fleet passes Hainan, send both fleets from here and the Hainan base to stop it and make sure the Flagship of the enemy is captured." OOC: Sorry, accidentally didn't finish the last post. Oh, and don't tell me you have fighters that can patrol at 75,000~ feet constantly. My AGM-86's are AGM-86E, my own modification, and they are slightly larger (3-4~ feet) to carry the fuel to launch from that height.

Continuation
...Approximately eight hundred metres from the Hatarian fleet in dock, and almost 78,000 feet above Hong Kong harbour, out of range of anything except THAADs and ADM missiles, the three planes each launched thirty AGM-86E (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/smart/agm-86c.htm) missiles against the Hatarian anti aircraft defenses. Behind the first three Varrex Vanguard's lay the second flight, Victor Two One One, Victor Two Two, and Victor Two Three. They came up too, from 78,000 feet, and in radio silence launched a similar wave of missiles against Hatarian airfields.

Southeastern Asia, near Hainan, 76,000 Feet
The last flight of Victor Squadron, and the last of the Varrex Vanguard's stationed at Singapore, were in the air nearby Hainan which had been recognised as a major Hatarian military base. From their maximum height each Varrex Vanguard launched thirty AGM-86E's against Hatarian airfields, targeting mainly the runway itself and munition stores. From this height the missiles could be shot down but the aircraft would have an extremely slim chance of being intercepted by any fighter or interceptor.

CHAPTER II: OPERATION: FREE KICK
Southeastern Asia, near Hainan, HMS Aggressive
"Alright you are cleared for launch Charlie squadron, good luck, over."

The Captain of Charlie Squadron, Lieutenant Adam Browning, mulled over his mission. The third flight of Barracuda torpedo bombers was also the third to leave the aircraft carrier, flying only thirty metres off the water at high speeds to avoid RADAR detection and detection from fighter aircraft. They were only half a klick behind the second squadron, who were in turn the same amount behind the first. Sixty four aircraft began their travel to the Hatarian high fleet to attempt to damage the Hatarian vessels before the main combat would begin. It was dangerous, the torpedo bombers would be easily shot down but they would be relying on the range of their 28" nuclear torpedoes to attack before they could get in range of the Hatarian SAM umbrella. These were the same torpedoes that had been launched on the Hatarian fleet from the Monarch Class SSNs - the torpedoes would initially dive to 40 metres, travelling at 49 knots and when they came within 1km~ of a high magnetic source (4,000~ tons plus) they would home to the target and close up on it's keel. The advanced communication network between the torpedoes would make sure that they properly assigned themselves - if a torpedo detected that a ship of 200,000 tonnes was being targeted by another four torpedoes it would instead home in on a different vessel.

95 kilometres from Hatarian Main Fleet, Alpha Squadron
"okay boys, this is it. We are reaching prime range in 20 seconds, arm your torpedoes and engage when ready."

Squadron Leader Flank Lieutenant George Foreman grimaced as a string of "affirmative"s and "roger"'s marked the whoesh, whoesh, whoesh of torpedoes dropping into the water and descending. Turning back and pulling backwards on his joystick he knew this would be the interesting part. His squadron behind him, he checked his remaining payload: 2,500 rounds of 30mm DU gatling shells and three BVRAAM type missiles was all that he had to engage the Hatarian planes that were flying around. His confidence was boosted though, as he remembered the briefing and the second part of Operation: Free Kick.

Questarian Fleet Formation, 18:00 PM
The first wave would devastate the Hatarians: eight hundred carrier based interceptors had taken off in a mass launch from the CVNs of the fleet. Surely they had been noticed by the giant thermal heat-marks from the Hatarian GPS, but that was entirely the point. The carrier borne- aircraft sped in a neat formation towards the direction of the Hatarian fleet, their missiles armed, primed, and ready to fire at the first sight of trouble. As the massive aircraft force dropped into combat range of Hatarian aircraft, another eight squadrons of Torpedo bombers flew off the decks of the Questarian carriers, heading directly towards the path of their comrades that had just kicked off Operation: Free Kick.

That is..800 interceptors moving to attack your patrols, 384 of those torpedoes heading towards your main high seas fleet, 180 cruise missiles against your airfields and defences on Hong Kong, and 90 cruise missiles against your airfields in Hainan.
Squadron = 24, btw

Declaration of War

After a red-eye session of Congress last night, the Velkyan Government has authorized a declaration of war on Hataria in responce to it's ignorance of Allied threats to back down. The High Seas Fleet is being readied at it's home base of Vladistock, and will arrive in the theatre of operations in 4 days time. Classified forces are also being dispatched to the area. The Hatarian government will rue the day it attacked the Commonwealth.

The United Kingdom had for years maintained colonies in the south Pacific, linking the Home Islands in the north Pacific to the colonies of the Verdant Archipelago and now to new Zarcaliar in the Indian Ocean. The lifeline between the distant parts of the Kingdom was the sea; and the Royal Navy was tasked with maintaining that lifeline at all costs.

With the sun beating down mercilessly upon the flat blue glass, Commodore John Barton pushed his sunglasses further back up on his nose as they fell frequently from the perspiration that made his skin slick and glint in the sunlight. Wearing the white uniform for the tropics, Barton reveled in his command over the Pacific. He watched with a smile as the sharp bow of a battlecruiser sliced through the waves, dolphins leaping ahead of the massive trimaran while on the helicopter deck he could just make out an orange ball being flung up and down in the air.

Barton took a moment and walked around the corner, allowing the moving humid air to remove some of his perspiration and bringing him into view of a waiting rating who handed him a single piece of paper. Barton took the paper and nodded at the young man, who promptly returned to the air-conditioned bridge, leaving the commodore outside to digest the message. He sighed, stretching his arms out to place his hands and the now crumpled piece of paper on the cool railing.

Neutral shipping had begun to fall prey to pirates roaming the high seas with reports of armed cargo ships intercepting freighters and sinking them. While the exact identity of the marauders remained unknown, Barton felt a bitter taste in his mouth. It had only been months ago when the United Kingdom was held hostage as foreign submarines sank with impunity the UK’s merchant marine. While the losses had been only a temporary setback, quickly remedied by increased patrols, the incidents had sparked a war, a war that had given the Kingdom a massive new territory at the cost of over two-hundred thousand men and women. This madness had to stop and stop now.

Taking a deep breath, Barton stepped inside the bridge and found the battlecruiser’s captain standing behind the wooden wheel, which although no longer necessary, added a certain charm to the vessel. Captain, I’d like to double our aerial surveillance of the area – send up more URAVs if you please.

Certainly, Commodore. The young captain turned towards a lieutenant and Barton watched as the order was quickly repeated and followed out. In moments unmanned aerial reconnaissance vehicles were in the air, extending the detection envelope of the commodore’s ships: two battlecruisers, two destroyers, and four frigates that were all tasked with safeguarding merchant vessels and the sea traffic lanes that the UK and the world depended upon.

Barton felt the weight of the paper in his hand and looked out to the horizon so tranquil, so dormant, so very serene – belying the possibility of missile launches and gunfire, of blood and carnage and screaming and praying. One more thing, Captain, send a message out, as far as she’ll go, unencoded on as many frequencies as you can. Let the maritime community in the area know we’re here and that we are willing to respond to any attacks on merchant ships.

Open Broadcast*

Having received reports of unprovoked attacks upon commercial shipping, His Majesty’s Government of the United Kingdom of Azazia has tasked my squadron of capital ships to enforce peace on the high seas. Should any nation fall victim to attack on the high-seas, the Royal Navy stands ready to respond and facilitate whatever aid that the situation warrants.

Commodore John Barton
Royal Navy, 8th Battlecruiser Squadron, HMS Repulse

*Presumably this could be intercepted by both Hatarian and Questarian vessels alike – although any interception by Velkyan forces would be unlikely simply given the long-distances. I know the thread’s action is closed, but being this is all going on in my nation’s backyard, the UK would be rightly quite concerned especially given that Hataria has announced unrestricted warfare upon commercial vessels

V.S.S. Kestrel, somewhere in the Pacfic Ocean, 3:21 AM

Dozens of ships cut through the inky black sea, headed towards Questrian Singapore. The information that Admiral Rogerson (the same from Kahanistan) had recieved was that Hatarian ships had moved towards the colony, hoping to take it. Sattlelite imagery confirmed this, and an ultimatium was sent by Quester to Hataria. Hataria ignored it, and that was were he came in. Cruising at a steady speed of 30 knots, the fleet would arrive in the port by noon, barring any "interdictions" by enemy forces.

Overhead, a CAP radius of Krimson and Patriot LMF-3s loitered over the fleet, chatting calmly, awaiting any contacts that would come during the night.

"Haha, this is crazy, another war and it hasn't even been 6 months!"

"Hey man, Quester's our ally, we back him up when somebody tries something funny to him."

A Patriot pilot broke in.

"Speaking of somebodies, I seriously hope those Hatarians try something, I'm getting bored as hell..."

"Careful what you wish for, bro."

They laughed and continued to chatter as the fleet approached it's destination. Once they were hailed by Quester vessels, they would dock at the port in Singapore and relax at bit before being sent into action.

Yes this is closed, but Hataria wants to attack more of my colonies (even though I have stated that it would be OPEN if he did) so you guys can get in the action there.

Attacking other colonies should be a secondary RP thread. Not in here. Keep this one closed and let the crap hit the fan elsewhere.

OOC: Sorry, accidentally didn't finish the last post.

Squadron = 24, btw
[OOC: OK, Happy Thanksgiving!]

The Sudden Attack was not a surprise, but already The Hatarians were unprepeared for the attack. Ships were being hit by enemy Torpedoes and The Planes in the air were soon under attack.

The Hatarians soon detected the 180 Missiles heading for Hong Kong and fired their Anti-Missile Missiles, 181 of them. Asuka knew that Questers was trying to weeken the Hatarian East Asian Fleet with this Attack. "Call Alpha base to send Renforcements!" She ordered.

Alpha Base.

AB was a Minor Base, 23 Gun-ho Class Gunships, 32 Republic Class Destroyers and 21 Conquest Class Frigates were based there, along with 123 RAGI-10 Fighters. When The Call for Renforcements came from Hong Kong, 23 miles from AB, The Base was soon on red alert. the Planes were soon being readied to take off, while The Ships were already starting to head for Hong Kong. The Planes soon started takeing off.

Losses at Hong Kong, 27 Planes, 12 Ships.

As a victim under attack by Questers, and seeing the Hatarian response to the Questers attack, It seems pretty clear that I shall personally endure this issue, as of great consequence. Even though I would rether support the questers, I would rether let Hataria attack and destroy them, then waste my own resources.
