The Pre-Universal leader stood in front of the committee, preparing for another angry lecture from the Ankhmeti members.
"YOU SECRETLY BUILT A SHIP IN Q-SPACE?"
"Yes, Amiral. Quite a satisfactory one, at that."
"WHAT? Our analysts say that 'satisfactory' ship stripped 15 systems of resources!"
"Indeed. Resources are no longer abundant, and the ships my people build are very expensive."
"We can see that. You idiot! We were going to build another galaxy-dreadnought, now you've set us back 10 years!"
"A shame, but those hulking monstrosities are not exactly efficient. This Pre-Universal technology IS. Unfortunately... Your computer banks could not hold designs of such complexity. We cannot build another."
"Well... What does it look like?"
"A black cube, 1 light second squared."
"Wh...What the hell?"
"It is a ship designed for... Infinite speed."

"Utilising multiple dimensions where the physics are different. It reaches the maximum speed capability of one dimension, then moves to another. It is capable of draggind a large fleet with it, any distance. Of course, the power requirements are enormous. We have to collapse a world to create the white hole that exists at it's core. Wherein lies it's weakness. The energy we need is transferred via a black hole at the Q-space facility, which uses the outputs of 14 artificial suns. Such technologies cannot be copied by your people... But this one ship will help a lot."
