A little bit about Moorington:
Moorington is a city-state or polis. It is based in a sheltered bay and has a few outlying settlements throughout the coast. The main citadel is more or less one big tower with spinnerets branching off. There is a thriving market that is around 5 different plazas progressively higher and better quality. The residential areas are usually on the second stories of the businesses. The only other main residential area is on the coast. The sewage and water supply systems use mostly salt water. There is regular water for bathing and drinking but salt water is easier to clean with. The defenses of Moorington are made of a dike then a pike wall followed by a stone wall. The military of Moorington is made up of a core group who spears and round shields to batter and stab their enemies to death. In times of war volunteers swell the ranks but are usually armed with bows, lances, and sometimes are issued regular attire and weapons, but usually are left to fend for themselves. Moors have a strong sense of nationalism and are almost instinctively productive and efficient.

A little bit about Moors:
Name: Moors
Adjective: Moorish
God: Open

Moors have piercing blue eyes. They usually stand about 7ft tall and have blue curly hair. The tallest ever recorded was 9ft and was a gigantic man who continued took up most rooms and was the general for most of his life. The shortest was 6ft and was considered short but not un-noticeably. Their skin tone is Mediterranean and they prefer swimming and the water above most other attractions. They have the regular muscle mass of humans and gait. Their minds though work much harder and they use all of their brains. They are very adaptable and have a unique gene that makes them all ambidextrous. Moors have a saying, "We find honor in life", so Moors will mostly be direct if not blunt in their negotiations. Moors are congenial to all peoples and have no racism. They do have a complex system of questions and replies that is considered proper to begin conversation. These, most diplomats will find, are of the utmost critical in meetings.

Spiritual:
Only the God of Smiths has a loose allegiance with the Moors. This is that the Moors has asked the god to bestow upon them a unique man of Orchilium*. These will give the Moors an edge. The main problem is that Silvarian users do not want Orchilium to be the main metal object.

The new ship yards were put on hold as everyone gathered to let the latest Galleys; The Cologne, Berlin, and Hamburg, were let off into the seas. On board were 500 colonists and 100 regular troops. They were planning to establish a colony on the coat outside of the bay. Their they will farm and fish. With a yell and a few screams a fine crystal goblet, filled with the best wine money could buy, crashed into the hull and on que, the ropes were cut. The ships flew into the sea and the ripples could be felt all the way to the mouth of the bay. The ships flew off and with a hopeful heart the colonists hoped to make a successful colony. The sea was good and more importantly there was no new creatures to be found. This expansion was more of a physiological barrier expansion then anything else. After 2 days they reached a good beach with a mountain chain extending into the sea as a good bay. The wood was tall and there was a good deal of fish as they constantly jumped onto the deck of Cologne. This brought the colonists to another development. What to call the new city, some said none while others Mooring. It was though finally decided on as Cologne, for the fish were the best that were tasted.

Once on the beach they started to chop down the most immediate trees. Some went about fishing and others went to un-loading the ships. Once these tasks had been completed it was well into the night. As the days went by it appeared a certain Moor, Maxen Von Bismarck, a merchant, showed to be a good Moor and helped everybody with their housing and proved to be almost possessive about supplies and organization. So by the second month the colonists were actually making more goods then importing. The town had sprang up with only 24 deaths. No creatures had been discovered that were to new or dangerous. The city square was the latest improvement with it's newly found turquoise stone and marble. These two stones made the buildings in Moorington reach 3 and 4 stories without being cost prohibitive. Farming actually turned to not be as successful as expected as most marketers turned to the farmers around Moorington. When it became apparent that stone mining would be the biggest part of Cologne's economy a vast store of workers emigrated from Moorington to Cologne. This boosted the population, while the population boomed it was left to the main government to erect public buildings. Cologne's government easily become spread into Moorington's main government.

The last part of history for Cologne is bright. There is stable exports and stable imports. The almost expected head smacking between the Moorington and Cologne never appeared and will probably never, due to Maxen's example. There is a public works going up and second generations are staying in Cologne which is a sign that Cologne will not be a boom town. The almost accidental stumbling along of the mine, bay, and area of Cologne is a blessing.
