OOC: I was inspiried to write this from a thread in "General". This is meant to be archaeologically authentic (i.e., it can be dated correctly to the time it was supposed to occur and is linguistically sound).

If anyone knows the full Roman name for Pontius Pilate please fill me in on it. I can't find it anywhere.

This is supposed to be a press conference.

IC:

The Curia, Rome

(Press Release presented by Marcus Appius Maximillianus Minartus)

The Roman Empire today officially released for public view the records pertaining to the legal order by Judean Prefect Pontius Pilate to execute Jesus the Nazarene. The records had been previously open only to scholars upon request, but given the recent increase in interest in Christianity, it feels that such a record be made available for public view.

The document itself:

By the order of Flavius Aemilius Pontius Pilatus, Prefect of Judea

For charges of stirring up unrest by claiming to be 'the King of the Jews', Jesus the Nazarene is hereby condemned to death by crucifixition. This action has the support of the Jewish people, as well as that of the Sanhedrin, and therefore shall be considered legally binding.

Flavius Aemilius Pontius Pilatus
Prefect of Judea
Proclamation Date: April 7, 789 (OOC: April 7, AD 36)

The floor shall now be open for questions.
