Colanis System, 12:21 AM

There was quite a massive celebration onboard the Cynthia, a large star-liner cruising near the twin stars of the Colanis system. A massivly rich CEO of a mining company was hosting a party in honor of his son's marriage to a daughter of a rival company, signifing the union of the two companies into one. There were thousands of guests, nay, tens of thousands, onboard the liner, partying and celebrating quite happily, unaware of the horror about to befall them. There was a small private security frigate alongside her to deter attack, but even that could not stop the bedlam to come. Suddenly, the sensor arrays on the frigate began to detect something.

A slipspace rupture?

A captain of the ship walked over.

"What is it, Athin?"

"A slipspace rupture, looks like it's 200,000 miles off the port bow!"

"Hail them."

"Yes, sir."

A subspace communication was sent to the unknown ship, asking it to indentify itself. The frigate then recieved a message.

"All will perish, we will spare no one, all will perish. The ships will run red with the blood of the innocent."

The entire bridge froze.

"Sir, there's more, they're heading right for us!"

The message began to repeat itself, as 4 massive blood red ship closed on the pair of private vessels.

"Alert the Cynthia, jump to FTL!"

Unfortunatly, that command was cut short as a beam of energy annihilated the friagte, spreading it's atoms to the stars. The Cythia's captain, seeing this, tried to jump to FTL. Another shot knocked out the Cythia's warp drive, rendering it motionless, unable to esacpe the evil lurking inside the 4 approaching vessels. Then, they all stopped. A single one approached the Cynthia, it's boarding tube extending, the many blades on it, ready to pierce the hull of the liner. It made contact, taking a few minutes to break through the hull. Finally, it locked, and a massive EMP surge swept through the liner, rendering it black as night. There was a rumbling noise.

The screams and cries of the innocent were silent in the dark depths of the void.

"Sir, jump complete. We're at the signal's point of origin."
"There appears to be a derelict afloat, sir. I'm reading organics but no life or power."

The massive Heavy Battle Carrier's body moved into formation with the vessel. It was one of the newer ones being flatter than it was wide and having its main bay in the front. It still, however, remained true to Kazeci style having a smooth oval shaped body and slate grey paint.

Multiple contact blips appeared on sensors as a small four ship fleet had finished a jump into the system.

House Ordus of the Draconic Order had heard about another coporate merger. The ones that grabbed their attention were the ones that would make a threat on the galactic market. So, in true Draconic Order style, they decided to eliminate the threat, or at least set other, current powers against each other and sweep away the remains. Having paid a small treasury for the secret location of the meeting point, they set a small fleet to destroy or subvert the corporate power giant before it could threaten them.

A cruiser and three frigates began moving in-system on an intercept course with the coordinates given. The current radiation of battle and wreckage provided a brief haven for the other ship(s) that have gotten involved.

And then, as if on cue, a flash of light introduced the entrance of another ship, this one being from The Grand Empire of Amerath. It was, for once, not a narrow-hulled Frigate that first responded, but rather, a Corvette (In Amerathian standards, is larger than a Frigate, but smaller than a Destroyer or Cruiser). This Corvette was shaped like a sword lying on its side, wide, short (in height), and barely larger than a Frigate. It was powered by 2 engines that were prominent from the top and bottum of the hull as bulges. The bridge was a narrow window in the center of another bulge near the front of the ship. This corvette was armed with only two foward facing pulse cannons, as oppose to most other ships of its chasis. This was a Sword Wind Corvette, ment to make fast marine strikes.

The Harmonian ship, a converted Galleon, moved through the void. Its numerous sails billowing as they caught and channeled the various energies sleeting through space, constantly recharging the crystals at the ships core, keeping it and its crew from undergoing the unpleasant process of implosion, explosion, freezing and so forth often associated with exposure to hard-vaccume.
Pulling up beside the wrecked ship the wooden sailing vessel (sort of) extended its own sort of boarding tube, namely a number of grapnels fired from cannons, these latched on to various extrusions of the hull, pulled tight and secured the ship to the Harmonian vessel. This was not theoretically required, but it looked good and was mostly done out of force of habit.
A number of small boats detached from the vessel and moved with suprising speed for wooden rafts. They vanished into assorted openings of the ship, two into docking bays and another into the hole created by the (presumably) pirates, raiders or people with financial troubles of the worse sort.
On entering, the motly assortment of boarders (including a number of skeletons, animated by various methods) inspected the walls. It was, as far as they could determine, the work of the nastier sort of Daemon, maybe even a Keeper.
Some of the bodies that were in better condition were recovered and moved into the main Harmonian ship as was anything of potential value, including the captains chair and hat. These were later installed in a bar on Harmonia.

The unidentified ships continued their rapid decent into the system towards the coordinates given, completely ignoring the new ship and hoping that it would go away and not identify them. Their sensors picked up the remenants of a battle, they planned on making sure that it was their target that was destroyed, and that any salvageable materials and technologies was taken.

The Bloody Toll popped out from hyperspace several hundred kilometers from the original distress signal. It was a small frigate ship, with a crew of moderately successful pirates. A good portion of that success was due to having made them selves affiliated with the asteroid colonies in the Monsterian system. If whatever they found from the distress beacon was too big for the Toll's crew to handle, they could slip back into hyperspace and let the Monsterian navy know about some tasty bit of salvage that wasn't too far out of their reach.

With her eyes so far out and her sensors 8 years old, the crew of the Toll were unable to see the Draconic vessel, though they did spot the Amerath and Mortis ships hovering over the carcass of the ship. On spotting the Amerathian Naval vessel most of the crew was ready to cut their losses and turn tail, but the captain ordered the Toll closer so they could at least know what sort of prize they would be telling the Monsterians about.

The Ordus ships responded with a hail of lazer fire. One of the three frigates didn't attack until it formed up with cruiser, for it didn't have gun batteries like the other two frigates. But, its design was clear as it opened up with a particle beam cannon, adding its weight to the one fired from the cruiser.

The first salvo burned away the protective layer of shrapnal, just as the fighters veered away from the hulk. A wave of missiles came from both the flanking fighters and the main fleet.

"This is the Karaz. Assuming you are all here on behalf of the distress signal, we will stay from hostilities unless one of you tries to do something that they would regret to that vessel. That goes for all of you."

"Hmm... well, since their warning didn't make anything all that clear, I guess we can get a little closer look." Captain Bleih could feel the eyes of his crew on him. They had worked for several years under his command and knew he was prone to calculated risks, but no pirate wanted to get close to a navy vessel unless they had some aces up their sleeve. The small ship moved closer to the others, its old scanners working hard.

The Amerathian vessage began a slow back away from the carcass, trying to stay out of combat. It broadcast a short message..

"We arn't looking for combat with anyone unless they doing something to the ship in distress."

The Pulse Cannons on the front of the corvette were powerful, but unlike the other corvettes or frigates, it lacked the necessary amount of Pulse Cannons (The standard pattern "Iron Side" Frigates held 4 pulse cannons on each side and 4 torpedo tubes, standard pattern "Calvary" Corvettes held around 6 on each side and 6 torpedo tubes and wielded a small fighter group.) to stop the situation if it got out of hand. Of course, they could always put a few marines onto a ship if things got bad.

ooc: DO posted at the same time, so I didn't read it.

Ic: The Kazeci craft began to take the laser fire, burning at its shields but having little effect for the moment. The particle beam, however, caused a portion of the shield to fold in on itself and almost collapse. In order to protect itself from such failure, it re oriented so that all it's weapons had clear vectors.

With one swift move a thick golden beam emanated fourth from the Lethal Ion Cannon turret. The massive power behind the weapon would surely cripple a frigate, or so its specs said. This was the intent behind firing it at the one frigate that had linked up with the cruiser. For one whole minute it seared away, following its target where ever it attempted to run. The ship lurked closer, its Zat cannons also targeting the one frigate. Soon it was in range for the SPPTs. Read beams attempted to open small holes in shielding just long enough for the plasma torpedo to sneak through and impact directly on the hull. This was but the beginning of the Kazeci crew's wrath and it came from but one ship.

Perhaps once more at the negotiation? DO ships: Disengage or die. You are attacking a superior vessel. This is your final chance for diplomacy.

ooc: last post tonight.

The missile and torpedo waves exploded all over the Kazecistan vessel as it moved to intercept the DO fleet.

The particle beam of the frigate got one more half-minute burst before going silent as the ion cannon ripped through its shields and bore into the tri-layered hull. The shields were then bombarded and brought down quickly, as the shield systems on Order ships were mostly a deterent then the main protection. Small explosions lit up the front of the ship as the plasma torpedo detonated where the ion cannon had smashed a hole earlier. Lights all over the outside of the ship seemed to flicker and die out as the ship lost main power, drifting out of formation as the three remaining ships continued to advance.

((Last post for me too then... for now.))

The crew members were oblivious to the growling, since a number of them no longer had ears or were too occupied with collecting stuff.
The ships captain looked on happily as interesting items were removed, he had collected a new rank insignia for himself at some point and a blue jacket.
The young (possibly) thaumaturgist next to him was not overly happy, though.
"Captain, sir, this ship...its giving off odd readings. Im picking up at least a thaum of magical radiation from this ship, normally the metal ships only give off a tiny trace of magic, a centithaum at the most, when theyre dead like this. Theres something still on here. Im not sure if we want to meet it, I mean, considering what it did to the rest of the crew."
The sight of half of the ships former Captain hanging from a ventilation shaft had unnerved the man a bit.
"Nonsense, we are on a mission to explore and discover things, possibly wipe out native civilizations if we have the time, Im sure whatever is on this ship is quite capable of being shot repeatedly with some nasty weaponry, if its even alive. If not, we can take it back to Harmonia and show it off, sell it for a good bit."
"As you say, Sir."
"Of course. Thats why I want you to get together some of the boarders and find whatever it is...yes, you. Jolly good chap. Off you go."

Several hours later, five Goblins, three humans, seven skeletons and one Daemon had been asembled in the ships mess, there was much confusion and the Daemon ate one of the Goblins by accident.
Orders were handed out and questions asked, none of which were answered at this point because there were no answers to be givin.

The Goblins, being underground creatures by nature, only took a fraction of a second to adapt to the sudden lighting change, and many of them already had weapons in hand. The skeletons didnt see in any case, they only felt assorted emanations, heat, life, electrical activity. The Daemon, of course, provided his own light in the form of hurled fireballs.
The humans were cut down quickly, mostly by friendly fire.
Six explosions echoed through the ships corridors as six Goblins fired their blunderbuss' at the same moment, filling the air around them with a cloud of metal bits and assorted scrap traveling at high speed, the Daemon, as previously mentioned, worked the crowd of skittery things with fireballs and occaisionally stomped on things.
The skeletons seemed to be having little trouble, since anything attempting to disembowle them would have trouble, they simply smashed whatever was at hand, sinking their fingers into what they deemed not to be friendly. Muscles of pure magic enabled them to perform feats that would not have been possible had they been alive at the time, and the Goblins fire generally simply passed through them.
After the first volley, three of the Goblins quickly dropped their firearms and drew swords, short, curved scimitars that, while not elegant weapons, were quite effecient. They then proceded to do what Goblins do best, that is, they screamed loudly and threw themselves at the enemy, apparently becoming a flying green ball of teeth, claws and blades in the process.

The shrapnel of the Kazeci shield beat relentlessly upon the torpedoes and missiles, causing them to detonate a safe distance from the hull. Lasers continued to drain the ships energy shielding, but had not gotten through yet.

The Kazeci ship turned its attention to one of the other frigates, despite the fact that it would be a while before the LIC was charged. Two massive doors slid apart on the nose of the ship, revealing its main bay. This gaping mouth vometed fourth a swarm of over 5 thousend drone fighters. Gunships and light fighters went to work overwhelming the enemy fighters while the double hulled Drone Bombers and bulky Heavy Drone Fighters focused on one of the other frigates.

Advancing on the newest target, the carrier used its EWC cannons to batter it with all their might. Zat fire again puddled upon its shielding, ever weakening it. SPPTs lashed out with anger as they aimed for key subsystems, mainly power and weapons. And just to add to the fray, 18 torpedoes ((anti cap ship)) came fourth, tracking down the targeted frigate. Seconds before impact, each released a small ion burst- much lesser than that of the carrier- to open a path in the shielding, again for direct impact purposes.

They seemed to ignore the other ships entirely as they focused all their power on one, intent on the kill.

The eight fighters, though expertly piloted, were outnumbered more then a hundred to one and were torn apart as they tried to return fire, maybe destroying about twice their number in drones. Their sacrifice was not in vain though, because it gave the frigates enough time to move within range of the cloud. The two fully functional frigates were built around the need to take out many small targets, the barrage that followed flaked almost the entire wave of anti-fighter drones. But, that victory was short lived as the Kazecistan carrier and several thousand drones set upon the nearest frigate.

Thousands of small shield explosions and hull impacts rocked the frigate as it tried to desperately fight back. A turret was ripped from its housing by a massed torpedo strike and floated off into space. The missile bays lit up one last time before going silent, the cluster of missiles was enough to scatter the flight of drones that finished off one of the turrets earlier.

The frigate that was brutalized before (the one with the particle beam), having lost its main weapon system, was just floating at the edge of battle before the lights around the engine compartment came flaring back to life. Several stragling drones were caught by the nose and were destroyed as the ship began a barreling charge toward the carrier, intent on ramming it.

The cruiser continued drilling at the shields surrounding the Kazecistan carrier with its particle beam cannon and massed torpedo and lazer barrages. It seemed to not even care that the other frigates were in trouble. But it continued to close, it seemed that it would also end up colliding with the carrier as its vector would suggest.

Kazeci ships were built to take a pounding, and dish one out as well. Slugfests were their thing. As such, it was of little surprise that until now, the carrier seemed to be fairing quite well. But they could only put on this act for so long. Their breaking point was near.

"Sir, main energy shield failing!"
"Fighters reporting heavy losses sir! The enemy seems to be well equipped to deal with masses of small craft."
"Sections of the hull are taking damage!"

By this time the LIC had been recharged and the engineers had a bit of a trick up their sleeve. "Target cruiser and fire!" This order only pertained to the LIC. The massive turret turned and fired, true to it orders. This time, however, rather than stop after its one minute burst, it fired again. This double shot was a trick that wasn't authorized by the Navy, but often was used in the disparity of battle. The thick gold beam of ionic power struck the same place twice, intent on wiping out the particle cannon and anything else in the area. Perhaps this would eliminate their biggest threat.

The other Kazeci weapons continued to focus on the one frigate, hoping to cripple its main weapons as well. Many of the bombers and heavy fighters remained. As the bombers strafed the length of the frigate, they unloaded continually from their twin plasma cannons- the weapons that make up 50% of the ship's mass- as well as releasing their 4 torpedoes and 14 missiles right away. On each run they also let loose with their screamers, unguided rockets, which were expended at full auto.

Evasive maneuvers were engaged so that the attempts to ram would be much more difficult and if they succeeded that they would glance rather than impact dead on. As the hull was battered more and more, a state of distresses became urgently apparent.

A distress call went out, all channels and frequencies.

Captain Natarle Badgiruel, commanding officer of the G.F.S. Dominion, was not authorized to fire her ship's weapons unless fired upon first. The Armed Republic of Planet Zi was not ready to enter a inter-national war so soon after the three sub-nations that made up it up had expelled the people responsible for instigating war after war between them. Thus, the Dominion moved to a position that was half-way between the two combatting groups to get a better vantage point. While her weapons remained silent, the port and starboard launch bays also remained closed.

The cruiser's shields flickered and collapsed during the first half-minute. The beam continued to the hull and began searing through the much thicker skin of the cruiser. The first two layers were breached before the second beam hit. Though the battle carrier was expending a lot of power to cause the damage necissary, it did. The particle beam was firing during the second beam hit. There was a small explosion as the beam cut deep enough into the third and final layer to hit the main gun as it was discharging. The lights around the hole died as the particle beam cannon lay silent.

One of the frigates went quiet as the continual beating it took cut main power. Only point defence weapons and missile bays were still in operation. Then a bombing run took care of the missile launchers. All available power was put to point defense weapons as the maneuvering thrusters began disengaging the vessel, seeking cover behind the fully functional frigate. The sister frigate was begining to bring its weapons to bear on the heavy drone force, the larger, and slower craft began droping like flies to sustained flak.

The particle beam cannon frigate grazed the side shields of the battle carrier as it tried to ram. Its outer hull buckled as it smashed past the evading carrier. A beam of energy, not as strong as the particle beam, but enough to punch a hole through a corvette, lanced out of the bottom of the ship as it rolled by the shields and pricked the carrier.

And then, as if out of nowhere, the Amerathian vessel came hurling past the Kazecistan ship's bow. It was headed straight for the cruiser (I think) of the Draconic Order.

"This is the Karaz, we come to your aide."

The Amerathian Marine ship was ment for speed, and it was showing that off as it barreled for the cruiser, attempting to smash it's sword-like nose into the cruiser to breach its hull and release the marines into it. There were, on this particular Marine ship, a platoon (4 squads, each 12 people), and if the platoon got onboard the draconic order ship, all hell would break lose.

The energy shielding in Kazecistan wasn't designed to take direct hits from solid objects very well. As the frigate glanced off, it downed a large portion of the shielding and impacted directly on the hull, crushing it inwards like a tin can. It was fortunate that the ship had a double hulled design, as all command functions existed in the innermost hull, the crushing force only crumpled large portions of the main bay, which made up the space between the inner and outer hulls. Still, the damage was massive and atmosphere began to vent. The violent shaking also caused damage to some internal systems. Perhaps what did the most damage, however, was the beam weapon. It bypassed the downed shielding and bore directly into the hull. Several portions of the ship needed to be evacuated.

The situation was desperate. Fighters were falling at an increasing rate and there were no backups to reinforce their numbers. The captain made another drastic decision. He would use the GASs on board to attack the enemy ships. 40 of the T shaped landing craft exited the bay and headed for the last frigate. Their 6 plasma torpedo cannons fired at a rate faster than most plasma weapons as they targeted weapons and other exposed systems. These Ground Assault Ships were not meant for combat in space, they were meant to deliver troops by the hundreds to planetary sites. Because of this, they were well equipped to take flack. This robustness allowed them to make rather blazon bombing runs over the surface of the frigates as if it were the surface of a planet being softened.

The carrier reoriented to face the last frigate, but it was a slow process as the ship was never built for speed and it had taken quite a bit of damage. It began to pound away again, but with several weapons off line it would be far less effective. Again the distress call went out. It would be several minutes before a Kazeci ship could respond.

The Dominion backed off as the battle intensified. The ship stopped at a distance of ten kilometers. While her fusion reactor was used to power basic ship systems, her main Naquada reactor was used to keep the shields up. Power was shunted to the weapons systems, but they were not deployed. The ship was at Yellow Alert, this meant she was ready, but would not start something. Her hull took on an appearnce similar to an armadillo as her ablative armor generators activated. The Dominion was one of only three ships to be equipped with these generators.

Ic: As the situation became more desperate, the Kazeci crew decided to appeal directly to one of the near-by war ships. Zi ship Dominion: we are in need of aid, yet you do not come? What sick Gods must you have that would condone such a thing? Is it acceptable in your society to kill? You- The original voice comes back on briefly, before cutting out. Please, we are in desperate need! We cannot last much longer without your compassionate aid!

Kazeci fighters, especially those low on fuel or munitions, began to put themselves in the path of fire directed at the Amerithian ship, in an attempt to allow its survival until its docking. Similarly, weakened or damaged craft attempted to block shots art the carrier.

The Amerath vessel plowed through space toward the DO cruiser as small explosions signified the death of its defense wing. A beam, similar to the one used to ping the Kazecistan carrier (hereinafter refered as a pulsar cannon) sliced into the Amerath transport as it neared. But, even the punishing the marine transport was taking didn't stop the armored prow as it smashed into the cruiser, grounding the cruiser to a hault before it got close enough to the carrier to bring its pulsar cannons to bear.

Damage had taken its toll on the carrier, the firepower brought upon the last frigate was at the level of the frigate itself. Therefore the two ships battled back and forth, with none having the advantage or the firepower to really damage the other one sufficiently.

The remaining two frigates began turning to leave the system. With their ships crippled, they began disengaging, limping away.

A highly coded message was sent in response to the message from the Kazecistan ship:

Its not a matter of morals or ethics. The Armed Republic is still recovering from inner turmoil that only ended recently. Our orders are to not fire unless first fired upon. Though, I may have found a small loop-hole.

Captain Badgiruel had her ship moved to a new postion where it the chance of the Dominion getting struck by stray fire was much higher. She knew that she could not use the ship's weapons without being hit first. With the ship's new position relative to the battle, she could use this loop-hole to provide aid as she would not be, in fact, firing the first shot.

OOC: I know that some ships have that, but my nation just came out of what could loosely be defined as a three-way Civil War-like situation and the ships from the three sub-nations that make Planet Zi up had the names painted over so that the other two wouldn't know which to target to get the command staff. This internal conflict has only ended recently and not all but three of my ships (which so happen to be the flagships of the three sub-nations) have had the registry painted back on. Ic: The Kazeci ship had no time to respond to the Dominion as it had not the will to defend those in need. Kazecistan's highly moralistic and idealistic society would not deal with those who did not attempt to do the 'right' thing. If they helped, it would be appreciated, but they would not expend effort in this, possibly their last hour, to change them.

The carrier turned it's best side to the frigate, allowing all it's weapons that still functioned a better firing arc. Still, little progress was made.

@Draconic Order: You misread what I posted. I said that all but three of my ships have had their registries painted back on. I also said that the Dominion was one of those three ships. The way you interpreted it, it sounds like I only have a fleet of three ships. I have more than just three ships. The three was referring to the fact that the Dominion is the flagship of one of my three sub-nations. Just for that, its go time.

IC: A stray shot from the Draconic Order frigate pinged against the shield bubble of the Dominion. As soon as the orange rippling had subsided, the ship automattically went to Red Alert.

The ablative armor opened two let two twin turret like structures rise up from the bend above the launch doors. It also opened elsewhere to allow two long structures to deploy and rotate foward. The armor generators then closed up the vulnerable openings thus made.

Captain Badgiruel had found her loop hole in her standing orders to not engage unless fired upon first. This slight technicality allowed her to test her ships upgraded offenses and defenses.

The giant 225 centimeter dual high-energy beam cannon "Gottfried Mk.71" turrets returned fire. Two green energy beams lanced out from each towards the D.O. ship that had fired the shot that hit the shields.

The DO frigate that was battling the Kazecistan carrier was slammed in the side as two green beams smashed into the shields. The extra weight of firepower helped the Kazecistan carrier break through the energy bubble surrounding the frigate. The first and second layers of the frigate's hull began to burn off as the carrier bombarded it.

The other two frigates were already leaving the battle and limping out-system. Now several hundred meters from the battle.

The cruiser was still locked with the transport, the impact pushed it to the outskirts of the warzone. Inside another skirmish was unfolding as the troops began pooring into the breach and began fighting with the internal security forces. Lazer blasts filled the hallways around the breach as the battle began to unfurl.

The Corvette suddenly did another amazing thing. Out of the front and rear of the ship, as well as the sides of the hull, massive grappling hooks launched out, attempting to attach themselves to the ship to insure the pregnation of Marines into the enemy vessel.

As for the Marines, each squad would have split off, one going for the engines, one for the bridge, another for the weapon systems (If seperate), and the last one moving to make sure they could destroy the life support if they were unable to win the fight.

Amerathian Marines rarely destroyed another ship's life support system. This was because most Captain's would fear the same thing against themselves, and would not tempt another force's retribution. Other than that, the life support would not be touched unless it had to be.

Also, Each marine was in an air-tight body armor incase the life support did go off, they could use their rebreathers to keep fighting through the ship.

As a final note, the Corvette released a last message to the cruiser..
"This is the Captain of the Karaz, halt your fire and cease further hostilities.. We are not here to start a war."

Ic: The carrier's crew were overcome with a new since of hope, despite the fact that their ship was now listing badly and over half of its main systems were off-line. There was a sense of relief, they might actually live! With this new vigor, they became more aggressive, maneuvering at their fastest speed (under half power) to a point 'above' the frigate, hoping for a more destructive angle. Their weapons seemed to have purpose once again- no longer listless or even filled with rage as they began- they fired almost with joy. Those remaining fighters and bombers seemed to fly with pride once again, almost having fun as they dodged debris and flack to deliver their dwindling payloads.

Messages of pure joy were sent to those who had come to their aid. Thank you! Our lives are in your debt! Kazecistan owes you! We shan't forget this! Because of you, we live!

The DO fleet began to disengage.

The cruiser's engines flared as it began accelerating away from the battle, to the out-system, taking the marine corvette with it. Inside the first squads of Amerath troops found out how dangerous DO can be when cornered. A roar filled and rolled through the corridors as dragon-like creatures began flooding into the breaches with unholy speed. Those DO troops that were caught by the tide were torn asunder along with the Amerath troops.

The battle driven frigate was caught between two ships and was taking a pounding. Its engines also flared as it tried to remove itself from fire. Some evasive maneuvering allowed it to survive the worst of the barrage, but it was slowly being picked apart as its weapons swung from one target to the next, trying to silence enemy weapon systems.

With the loss of so many marines, the corvette made a last ditch effort. Each grappling line attached to the enemy cruiser seemed to slacken for a few seconds, before drawing themselves closer to the cruiser.. without the corvette moving with it. The Corvette began to move away from the draconic order ship, each line staying drawn tight as, when the corvette moved far enough away, a small bomb popped from where the lines were attached to the corvette, which made it look like many giant acupuncture needles in the Cruiser. The corvette began to back away, only having around 6 marines make it back.

As the Corvette moved far enough away, the bombs began to draw themselves towards the hull of the cruiser. After each bomb made contact with the hull of the cruiser, they made a "ping" noise and as soon as all the bombs were in place, they detonated, all 16 of the bombs. What happened to the cruiser was up to DO now.

Ic: It was with ironic timing that the Kazeci dreadnought class super cruiser arrived. It was too late to save the carrier, that had already been done. Nonetheless, it was here. The whale like body bristled with weapons, enough to take out what remained of the weakened DO fleet without reloading. Charging fourth, weapons and shields hot, it began to broadcast: Kazecistan has come to do what is right upon those who would attack one of its crews. We thank those who have aided our fellow ship and condemn those who have crippled her.

With this it lunged at the frigate, most likely scaring the s*** out of them. Be gone! Be gone or face our might! One of its four LIC turrets opened fire, releasing one massive burst over the top of the frigate, which vibrated from the energy of the near miss. And they meant business. The next shot would likely take out the ship and two more were ready if they felt the need to FTL over to the other fleeing ships and exact retribution. For now, however, they waited.

The two frigates who broke off during the begining of the battle had already jumped. The third frigate used the dreadnaught as cover from the Dominion's weapons as it raced to follow its friends. In a flash of psuedomotion, a small gunship reverts to realspace after hearing of a distress call from a cruise ship of some type or other.

"Man, look at all that." A perpetually thirteen year old boy with blue hair said. "Must have been quite a battle."

"Yeah. Hey, Jake. Where did the message originate?" A slightly older boy with spiked brown hair asked.

"Hmm. I would guess it's that cruise ship already being looked at by those other ships." An older perpetually eighteen year old youth with black hair suggested. He's Jake McNeil, bounty hunter extraordinare. And a powerful Force-user to boot, but one rarely knows that unless he wants them to. The two kids are his apprentices bounty hunters. Jake wears an untucked grey-white collar shirt with a breast-pocket on either side of the buttons. The sleeves are rolled up at the elbow and there's a blue T-shirt underneath the opened shirt. His pants are tan khakis with numerous pockets all over for his various tools and weapons.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's join in the fun!" The blue-haired kid said. By the way, that kid is Chris Thompson. He wears a cowboy hat, cowboy's cloak and a pair of DL-54 blasters on his belt. A green shirt with a red vest and brown pants round out the outfit.

"You're always looking for fun and it always lands us in trouble!" The brown haired kid grumbled. His name is Konohamaru Sarutobi. This kid is a shinobi, but doesn't exactly look the part with a T-shirt with a leaf spiral on the front over a mesh mithril shirt and blue jeans. He and Jake both have shuriken holsters visible on their right legs.

"Aside from yapping, let's see what's up. I don't sense many lifeforms on that ship..." Jake frowned. There should be at least several thousand people, but there was alot less...and a sensation of death hung in the air...

Jake puttered the little gunship towards the cruise ship, taking in the sight of recent battle. Looks like pirates got the ship or something...

The Amerathian Ship replied first..

"You know how it is, we like long floats in the deep cold of space, no way to move and suddenly undercrewed. Makes the starts seem that much better.. What's it look like?"

The tractor beams were running at a low intensity- it would take little to break free if they wanted to- but it was just enough to keep the ship from drifting, which would cause problems later. From within the massive bay came four small transports- Bullet Transports (BTs)- they displayed incredible speed and maneuverability they approached the damaged vessel.

You requested aid? Just give us docking/landing clearance and we'll see what we can do for your engines. Each of the 14 man craft began to circle the ship, waiting.

"We've opened our primary dock, come aboard when you feel fit."

Sure enough, on the underside of the Corvette, a small door opened, emitting a red light to the dark void of space.

Once the engineer crew arrived, they would find that the corvette was a mixture of architectures.. In primary areas such as medical areas and living quarters for crews, they'd find the floors and walls covered in white tiles or other various decorations. If they were in engineering, cargo, the dock, or barracks; they would find the rooms and halls covered in black steel panels and other various instruments for work.

The ship's design was foreign, but not so much so as to be upsetting to the engineers. As they made their way to the engine room(s), they spoke softly and nodded to those they passed. Once they arrived, they spent a few minutes analyzing the system specs and talking with the crew to get a feel for what they would be working with. It wasn't long, however, before they began to work.

The ship's engineer crew was mingled about the work with the Kazeci engineers. The Amerathian Engineers were covered in oil and many other foreign substances that made them stand out, noting that they had been in the engineer room working on the engine feeds since the first charge at the cruiser. It was most likely going to be a long task to figure out the problem for these chaoticly designed engines.

The Kazecis were, at first, dismayed at the seeming chaos but little by little, bits of logic i the design kept their hopes from failing. Slowly, they traced the path of energy from its release to its expenditure, checking each and every system involved. Hopefully, they would come across the problem somewhere along the way.

Of course, the loss of power to the engine would suddenly become evident by a loud "Crunch" eminating from one of the upper areas of the engine..

The Amerathian Engineers looked up.. then started running away from it, trying to get through the blast doors that led into the cooridors of the ship.

The Head Engineer stood next to a blast door, beckoning the Kazeci Engineers to hurry.

"Come on! Come on! That's the Power Conduit from the generator! The safety is overloaded and about to blow!"

The safety, as the Engineer refered to, is a system of the engine that holds excess energy (usually for jumping into hyperspace or the such), and then releases it into the engine when needed. But it will stop energy from going to the engine incase the energy becomes backed up at any other point. But everything has their limit...

The Kazeci team did not quite understand the situation or the reasons for it, but still felt the urgency to leave. They hurried out but in an organized fashion (as they had been taught from early childhood).

"Are we safe out here or do we need to go further?" one of the Kazecis asked, unsure of the severity of the situation or the robustness of the ship's construction.

The head engineer was messing with a box next to the door. After a short period, he shut the lid of the box and turned to the kazeci engineers.

"There are dampeners for this very purpose."

The sound of the explosion was followed shortly after the head engineer's words.. it was at first a short "pop". Then it became a loud bang, threatening to burst the eardrums of anyone in the cooridor.

The Head Engineer was not happy. "That'll space us for awhile, we'll be needing a new engine."

Perhaps the Cruise Liner had a salvagable engine?

"That didn't sound good." said one of the Kazecis, attempting to make light of the situation with his tone. "Perhaps there is something we can do, no? The SC has many resources at its disposal."

Another jumped in to the conversation, having more knowledge of its capabilities. "They should have enough thruster pods to get you around."

"But those won't get them home. Kazeci drives wouldn't be feasible on this hull, would they? There is no scaffold structure..."

"Sub light drives wouldn't work, but what about jump drives?"

"Integrated into the ship, it would take weeks to separate the components and even then we'd be stranded."

"Not if we used torpedo and BT drives."

"There's no way those tiny things will move this ship, and they wouldn't take it far either."

"But if we extended the FTL field and linked it to several beefed up BTs and the SC it should work."

The original Kazeci, having found the solution, turned to the engineer. Seeing him puzzled by all the back and fourth that had just taken place between the group, he simplified, "The SC has thruster pods which can attach to your ship and move it at sub-light speeds. To get you home, we can link up the SC and several smaller vessels' jump drives and expand the field. Your ship, being caught in the middle, would be taken with us. We can take you home!"

"But for safeties sake it might be best if your crew evacuated ship before the jump." Came the voice of another.

On board the Sata they heard the sound of a pop and then a explosion the sonar guy which heard the noise played it back to everyone on the bridge.
The Weapons Officer said "Are being Attacked!" The captin said "No it was from the inside of that ship. Make Communication with that ship."
after a few secs the com link was established with the ship.
"Are you guys all right if there is anything we can do to help you please let us know. If you need medical help or you need engineers." He had a heavy Ascent which sounded like it was coming from the throat. Then the com-link closed.
the medical crew and the engineer team was ready.
2 drop ship moved closer to the Civilian ship to see if any human life was on board and if they should try to see what happen even know everyone know that it was pirates.

Also, Kazeci, I was hoping on getting my marines inside that cruise liner for some face up battling , it was why I had 6 Marines survive.

The weapons of the Dominion were returned to their storage compartments and the ship was placed back on Yellow Alert. Captain Natarle Badgiruel (http://www.gundamofficial.com/worlds/ce/characters/images/chara_natarle_a.gif) watched the other ships from the windows on the bridge. She wanted to get a clear picture of the scene before she made her next move.

OOC: Still kazeci, engines would ruin the point of me getting rid of them in the first place. I wanted to get on that ship rather than have a buncha guys in a sailboat do something nuts.

So can you play a long a bit?

IC:

The head engineer shook his head negatively.

"Won't work. I don't think our power-core could move your engines. Other than that, it seems that cruise liner has some smaller engines that we could harvest and recycle into our ship for use."

The port 'leg' of the Dominion opened up. Sitting on the launch platform was a Berman class (http://www.ussmiranda.com/images/ships/type3-1.jpg) general purpose medium shuttle. As soon as the path was clear, the shuttle took off and headed for the damaged liner that had broadcast the distress signal.

The Command ship sata moved closer to the civilian ship when the reports came in that is was to damaged to have anything imprtant on it they disided to leave it. "What about that explosion?" the officer said
The captin said " We sent them a message and I think they are getting help."
The Weapones officer said "Lets blast the ship it is a hazard to let it sit in space."

We are going to blast the civilian ship please tell us if you are on board the ship or have some use for it we will give you 40 hours before we blast it.

A warphole opened up to the left side of the battle and
5 light attack ships came out first
http://www.artships.com/1999/fed_bottom.jpg
about 120m long by 10m height by 5m wide
2 lasers about 10-30 volts of energy
1 solar reactor 10-20 volts of power
Protective Plasma 2,000 v
1 reactor 100,000 volts
2 Grav engines (These are vary fast and can out power a planets gravitational force)

5 heavy Destroyers
*snip*
4 Heavy fusion engines 10-20 Parsecs a hour (1 parsec = 3 miles)(location in hull

I snipped a bit out, and sorry to throw an OOC bit into this thread, but anyone who accused Soviet Leaders of coming in with an 'uber fleet' obviously didnt pay attention to his stats.

His LAC lasers have the equivalent power of a flashlight, and his 10-20 parsecs/hour, with each parsec being 3 miles, equals 60 mph starships.

The shuttle moved a meter from the damaged liner's hull. The little ship's radar made sure it didn't get too close. Meanwhile, the Dominion moved into line with the damaged linger and the shuttle while maintaining a distance of one kilometer. Captain Badgiruel had made a decision. They would cut up the hulk and cart the pieces to a safe place where Zoidian engineers could disect it at their liesure.

The choice of the Zi ship was an unfortunate one, as Kazecistan, as always, was interested in the wreckage for its value. A salvage destroyer was en-route.
