Here a planet stood. In its orbit, a moon moved around. The Moons surface was scorched, it was a continues volcano across the entire surface, magma flowed in rivers, waterfalls existed. The heat on the surface would cook most humans alive.
And in orbit of this moon, a fleet appeared. The Fleet was damaged, their hulls had burn marks right across them, but they now had a home. Somewhere to call their own. The ships decended, landing at points and then folding out, becoming buildings. Across the world, structers came into existance, becoming the new homes for these survivors.
In the factories of the Ring One, Bodies where being contructed to replace the losses of those who had been destroyed only moments before. These bodies then began to move out, working on the Lava Feilds, collecting minerals, doing what people do. Civilsation was being built on this moon.
And all the while they waited for those who would come and make sure they where safe.

The ship had been dispatched from the nearby system of Basilisk, another major trade hub of the Terran Wormhole Junction, its job was to welcome the Machine Race to this corner of the Galaxy, and officially hand over control at the same time, which is why the very first message from the Light Cruiser was relatively friendly.
To: Our New Neighbors
This is Basilisk Astro-Control, welcome to the area gentlemen, we've been instructed to let you have this planet, and so we are officially giving soveriegnty of this system to you, anything else will have to wait for our higher-ups to arrive, most likely the Admiral.

We would prefere a section of secrecy if this is permitted. On record, this system will be possesed by you, but in reality it will be ours. We have no wish to reveal ourselves at this time, our people are not yet ready to deal with the outside world.
We need more time, we need more people, more materials, and we need more bodies. Isolation is not what we wish, but more not people realising we are indipendant. For the time, may we keep it on record this system belongs to you?

We have no objection, especially when you state it in those terms, and, if you have a security concern, would you like us to station a BattleGroup here, to keep prying eyes away?

For the time, that would be helpful, our own fleets where destroyed in that battle, thus we have no major forms of defence. As it is presently we are working on constructing bodies for the massive amount of minds we have on storage. We calculate that within a month we should have the surplus enough to begin construction on ships instead of mear ground based defences.
The Battlegroup would be apreciated, once we are ready to announce ourselves it would leave, but at this time its assistance is thanked.

Understood, I believe Admiral Sarnow can be here within the week, if that's alright with you?

This is fine. I thank you for your battle group. One month for the newer ships to come off the line, but self sufficientcy will be after that. We thank you for your help.

You are welcome... I mut go now, but I am sure that we will meet again... In fact, I'm counting on it.
And on that note the Fearless departed the system, leaving the Machines alone again, to wait for the admirals arrival...
