Trial of a Recidivist (MT)

Otagia
18-11-2005, 01:34
The name was plastered across the front page of every newspaper in the country: Thomas Julios. Thomas Julios, to be tried for leading an insurrection against the government of Otagia. Thomas Julios, to be tried for the murder of over 1000 protesters in a riot he is accused of having started. Thomas Julios, to be tried for High Treason against the King and Corporation.

The media was having a field day. Each paper painted Julios in a different light: Julios as mass murdering scumbag. Julios as deviant madman. Julios as stooge, framed by the Pale Rider. Julios as victim, in the wrong place at the wrong time. No matter the portrayal, his name and face sold papers. The trial was set to be the event of the year. The man had hired a good lawyer, and was to be tried at the Lower Courts, in the levels that he and his mob had destroyed in the riots: a hellish backdrop to this event.
