In the nation of Assatru there was growing discontent over the government's policies regarding its international and national responsibilities. Some of this anger was based on the flooding that had cost 42 lives several weeks before but it also had to do with freedoms that was being pushed aside by the government.

In a nation that was only 2 years old, most people did not like their rights being pushed aside, and the protest in that small village might have been the beginning.

Colonel Delason was angry about the way the government was running the affairs of the country. He felt that an army should have been sent to Neoma to defend its national integrity, even if genocide was committed. He was capitalist in idle, but had hid his feelings to get to the position he had. With several other officers loyal to him, and at least two military units around 600 soldiers just in the capitol alone loyal to his cause now was the time for a military coup.

Next Morning

... Explosions and gunfire has rocked the capitol city of the United Socialist States of Assatru as several hundred disillusioned soldiers have attacked government buildings near the heart of the capitol center. Reports indicate that government forces are putting up a good effort against this threat and reinforcements have been called for.

Local hospitals report that 6 civilians have been brought dead to the hospitals and that another 2 dozen have been wounded.

Acsi Village, Demo State

Two hundred government soldiers were sitting at the entrance to their base when gun fire rang out. Grabbing their M-4 carbines and assault rifles they saw the enemy approach, around 60 to 70 armed men. Armed with assault rifles and other weapons. Gunfire rattled off base walls as soldiers took up defensive positions before returning fire.

Fighting was reported between government forces and people forces loyal to Colonel Delason had spread to six areas in the country. The most vicious fighting was in the capitol city where government forces were outnumbered 3 to 1 by rebel forces led by Colonel Delason.

To put a rough estimate on it, Delason had the support of 1,500 soldiers and another 4,000 civilians who would take up arms for his cause while the government had the support of 5,000 soldiers and an untold number of civilians. The Delason forces were calling themselves the New Liberation Army of Assatru or (NLAS) while the regular forces were still known as the Assatru National Army or (ANA).

Gunfire was reported in the Presidential mansion as a guard fell dead in a pool of blood as Colonel Delason and three dozen followers pushed into the mansion. Most aids and servants surrendered quickly, as Colonel Delason marched into the Presidential office of Jerimov Krushve who sat calmly at his desk.

Colonel speaking:

"You have been inadequate as leader, Jerimov Krushve. You do not hold the ideals of the people and they have sent me to carry out my mission. Therefore you are too die."

Raising his left hand, Colonel Delason fired several shots striking President Jerimov Krushve in the chest and forehead. And he fell lifeless to the floor, the first ever President of Assatru executed.

Acsi Village, Demo state

Fighting was hectic as soldiers fired at enemy forces. Bullets hitting cement, hitting flesh, bodies crumpling to the floor or dirt. The bloody fighting had raged for several hours now, as government forces continued to put up tough defences against a ruthless enemy. Explosions rocked the base as soldiers, cut off from other loyal followers detonated grenades as a last attempt to wipe out a few enemy forces.

However, after another ten minutes, fighting ceased. The rebel forces had withdrawn, leaving 23 comrades dead, to 9 government soldiers. 4 civilians had also been killed in the fighting.

Fighting between forces under Colonel Delason, a capitalist swine ad loyal government forces enter into a second day. Fighting in the capitol has left at least a dozen people dead and there are reports of heavy fighting in the countryside. Hopefully someone will come to the United Socialist States Of Assatru's aid.

IC: While we would wish to bring a UN Peackeeping Operation to bring peace, the problem is that we are tied in a civil war ourselves.

If your civil war is too much, it is okay if you withdraw your peacekeeping forces to defend your nation. We understand. Revolts are so ugly.

OOC: The 2,000 troops have been withdrawn from Neoma as a failed peacekeeping operation but we will maintain our forces in SLI Sector. Could you provide a link because I seem to have lost track of what's happening

IC: The President of Assatru in only two years of office was now dead as violence was continuing across the country. Fighting was reported in the state of Victoria as well as Demo State and Assatru proper. The death toll was uncertain but it could very well be in the hundreds to the thousands.

Capitol City:

Bullets pinged off the city streets as government forces under Lt Shinter tried to rally the troops in suppressing the uprising by Colonel Delason and his (NLAS) fighters. A entrenchment of twenty soldiers fired machine guns at the entrenched soldiers of the NLAS just up the road on main street. Several buildings were already shelled heavily and several bodies laid in the middle of the road.

Then a shell hit the entrenchment of soldiers, several were killed and only six were able to move, and they crawled out of their entrenchment, however NLAS soldiers moved near them, and as the Assatru soldiers put up their hands in surrender, they were gunned down and left in the street. The soldiers who were wounded tried not to move but most were shot, and only seven out of twenty soldiers survived.

Demo State:

Government forces, numbering 2,000 bombarded the small village of 400 people with artillery shells, an estimated 100 rebel forces holding the village. Black smoke billowed from the village center, and fire could be seen. It had been two straight days of artillery shelling since several rebels attacked this army regiment. One soldier and several NLAS soldiers had been killed in the clash. The commander of this army unit, not wanting to head to the capitol to fast, wanted to shell the village and say they had contributed.

NEWSREPORT:

The President of Assatru has been killed. Four days of mourning has been issued by interm leader Jospeh Valisonkik. Fighting has gone on unabatted for several days. The death toll is unconfirmed but from the capitol of Assatru itself, there is reports from the hospitals that 19 civilians had been killed in the fighting.

NLAS Fighters, numbering around 60 to 70 moved nearer to the camp that had been set up by the Thergo government to help flood victims. If they could attack the supporters of the Assatru government, then they would win. This had been approved directly from Colonel Delason himself.

As they neared to three hundred metres. The NLAS soldiers opened fire with machine guns and small arms, pistols and old-antique rifles on the camp, and any soldiers, refugees or medical staff inside.

Fighting in the capitol took a turn for the upside for the government of Assatru as a hospital and a bank were stormed by several dozen soldiers. Six rebels, and 1 civilian were killed in the operation and 20 rebels were arrested.

Fighting between NLAS forces and ANA forces were becoming intense. Battles were reported in all five states, but even though, both sides made advantages in some areas, the forces were about equal and the equipment used was about equal.

... Fighting has been ongoing for the past two weeks in the United Socialist States of Assatru. The rebels, who are capitalist swines, have now taken control of the capitol. The death toll in the two-weeks of fighting in the capitol is reported to be; 75 ANA soldiers, 48 civilians and another 48 NLAS fighters. This bloody conflict has resulted in the deaths of at least 300 people and that attack on an aid camp near the flooded region.

Habardia cannot send troops at the moment. However, we will very gladly send a team of five of our best intelligence agents along with an enclave of the Holy Inquisition of the Duke. That should help you deal with dissidents. Of course we would not presume to stay there indefinitely, but the Enclave can aid Assatru in establishing its own Inquisition to revive faith in its ideals amongst the populace.

Artillery was mobalized. The rocket artillery strucks fired missles at a rebel camp outside the Capitol. This was brought to Thergo's attention before Assatru's due to Thergo's GlobalHawk Unmmaned Aircraft recon missions

General Ajay Patel rushed through the door with a paper. The paper contained that the nation of Assatru is undergoing a civil war. The President was given the paper and read it properly.

"General, are our forces that we promised to Assatru for the humanitarian aid still accessable?" asked the President.

"Yes, sir. The Forces deployed and heading to Assatru have arrived at our military base in Space Union. They have not left." replied the General.

"Excellent, we will notify all our deployed forces to change the mission."

The President turned on the speakerphone and used the speed-dial to access both the Pentagon and the Lieutenant of Defense, Saddam Al-Mohammed.

"Gentlemen, General Ajay Patel has recieved news that the nation, Assatru is undergoing a civil war after the flooding near the border regions. We need to alert our soldiers to prepare for war if the rebels try to engage us." said the President.

"Sir!" asked the Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, "We will need to send more soldiers, ships and aircraft to deal with threat. The last time we helped tame the rebellion almost cost us all of our soldiers."

"I understand that, We will send more soldiers, ships, and aircraft. Prepare an Armored Division, an Airborne Division (Air Assault), some Gorkha/Gurkha Regiments, a Marine Expeditionary Force, a Carrier Battle Group, and some Special Forces Groups and notify them within a week. The fowardly deployed soldiers will try to hold out as long as possible."

"Yes, sir, Mr. President" replied the Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman.

The President turned off the speaker phone, knowing that the rebellion will be dealth with and peace may come to Assatru.

On the High Seas...

The Commanders of the Marines and Carrier Group recieved a message from the Pentagon on the LCD TV. The sailors, aviators, and marines are to begining cruising to the crisis zone in Assatru to deal with a rebellion. The humanitarian aid will still be giving, but after the rebellion is over. The promised sea port is still awaiting for them. After the Commander reviewed the order, they alerted the ships to increase the ships' speed to full power to Assatru, rather than going to the military base in Space Union.

Roman Military Base, Space Union...

The Base Commander, his staff, and the commaders of the Airborne, Enginner, Medical, and Gorkhas/Gurkhas sat around a table in the Headquarters building and were interupted by a message from the Pentagon. The Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman told that same story given to the sailors and marines. He told that an airfield has been untouched and is awaiting for them to arrive. The Chairman told the commander to mobilize within the hours and fly towards Assatru. After the message, the Commander of the base pushed the button to the PA system all over the base, to alert the soldiers.

"Attention, all soldiers must mobilized within the hours to begin leaving to Assatru. Repeat, prepare to mobilize."

The Commander turned off the PA and pushed the button that trigger the mobilization alarm. The sound blarred throughout the base and hopefully not awaken the civilians near the base.

We are now a peaceful group of people. Valhalla would not be happy.
OOC If we are peaceful it is because there is no war to be fought in the Gods' name right now. But anyway that is not my point. My point is that you should not be so sensitive. We already get enough of that PC bollocks in daily life to have to deal with it in RP. So please just let it go.

To note before hand, I sent soldiers as peacekeepers to nations that were in the middle of conflicts. I do not know what the big deal is now that Assatru itself is going through a war.

The rebels were now in control of the Capitol of Assatru. From here the fighting, hopefully would decrease but the former government forces, and citizens loyal to the government of Jerimov Krushve was still putting up a fight. An attack by Thergo forces, who were suppose to be helping with the flooding had killed 12 NLAS fighters and 8 civilians.

Victoria State:

NLAS fighters attacked and overran an outpost of ANA soldiers near the flooded region of Victoria State. The fighting had been quick and the ten soldiers had surrendered quickly, however not happy and high on drugs, the commander of the NLAS fighters ordered all ten executed, which happened quickly with the sounds of pops going off coming from the machine guns. Uniforms were taken along with ammunition and food.

OOC: What I was thinking was for one of the nations that already has troops or aid workers in Assatru. A man, in military uniform but a NLAS fighter, walks into one of the encampments and either blows himself up or starts shooting. What do you think?

IC The chopper bearing the Ducal Crest appeared over the Assatruan skies. In it were eight men shrouded in mystery and deeply feared, but for very different reasons. Five were intelligence agents, members of the highest profession available to the nobility. They were those that had sworn a life-oath to the Duke and belonged to the secretive Society of the Seal. Everyone knew who they were, yet no one outside the Society knew exactly what it was that made them so powerful. All everyone knew was that they had the Duke's ear, and sword.

The other three were men to be feared for very different reasons. These were holy men, whose sole purpose in life was to erradicate the immoral and disloyal from Habardia. As members of the Holy Office, they held power over life and death. A power which they had no fear of using, and only the Duke was immune to their actions. They answered to three authorities: the Gods, the Church, and the Duke.

As the helicopter neared Assatru, the pilot spoke into the radio, "Assatru, this is Peregrine 3, requesting landing permit." The words, which meant actually entering the site of civil unrest, would have frightened others. But this crew was different. Those in the Society knew there was not one person in the world they should fear. And as for the Inquisitors, well, it should suffice to say that the smile that curved their lips as they heard the pilot's voice was not a nervous one. After all, all they could fear from the rebels was death, and that was their area of expertise.

After the shelling had been complete, a squadren of UH-60 helicopters poured into the capital. The miniguns opened fire on on any rebels they saw, being careful not to shoot civilians. The Heli's also had rocket launches, but they were for an assult on an NLAS Fort-city 25 miles away.

At the Thergoian Embassy in Assartu's Capital. The engineers were working to stop the floodwaters. But now they had another mission of providing the country with a better defense network.

As the Imperial fleet prepared to depart troops began landing by aircraft in the capital city on board the transport planes where Gage scout vehicles, Humvees, MLRS vehicles and Infantry, along with these planes came an escort of F-16s some A-10s and Predator Spy planes.

Capitol city, Assatru:

NLAS fighters fell to the strafting of helicopters from the Thergo forces. However a volley of RPGs, were launched from very well-hidden areas at the choppers. Even though the Thergo forces could avoid some of the RPGs, it was hoped by the NLAS fighters to at least down one or at least several.

Wounded fighters dragged themselves into shelled hallways and broken areas as the RPGs were unleashed in a second wave.

Government forces, by this, ANA forces, drove in armoured vehicles to the outskirts of the capitol. They were around 700 men in strength, and they were prepared to attack the holdouts of the NLAS fighters in the capitol. Estimated enemy strength, several thousand.

Colonel Delason prepared himself for a state of the union address. He was in full military uniform as he got in front of the camera, safe in his hideout, and stated in a clear voice;

"Hello, to the remnants of the last Assatru government, as well as its international allies. I am the new leader of Assatru, and if you do not recognize me as rightful leader, my forces will be unable to adhere to UN resolutions regarding POWs. That is create, recognize me as sole leader to Assatru, that it accepts only capitalist goals, and finally leave Assatru with your lives."

A man dressed in Assatru army fatigues walked into a camp that was run by Thergo aid workers and soldiers. There was a tent where sick people were treated, and there were areas where soldiers and supplies went. Sighing softly, the man threw off his tunic revealing a M-4 carbine assault rifle and he began shooting anyone near him. Foreign or national.

OOC: Thergo, a NLAS operative has entered into your camp for refugees from the flooding. Now he has opened fire on people, it is your choice if anyone is killed or not, and your choice if you want to capture him or kill him. Up to you.

An RPG hit Chop 4. "SON OF A BITCH" the piloit screamed. He ejected, but not before sending the damaged helicopter towards a line of NLAS fighters. The gunners opened fire on the rpgs, they raised altitude and slowed down the blades to reduce the sound.

As the chopper pilot looked for the best landing zone, the eight members of the crew started distinguishing gunfire. The Society members just looked on in concentration, while the Holy Men gazed at each other in disgust. Gunpowder and explosives had not been seen in Habardia for six generations, since the Inquisition condemned them as immoral, and the sight of this sinfulness felt the Inquisitors with the holy fire which only one who devouts themselves to prosecuting the infidels can feel.

Finally the chopper landed in a clearing some hundred feet away from what seemed a rebel outpost. The Agents drew their swords and readied for battle. They did not fear the "superior" technology. They were trained to battle projectiles, and they would not have traded their swords for a panzer.

They fought their way through some rebel troops, until they reached a structure bearing the mark of the legitimate Assatru government. They approached it, unknowing what awaited in there.

OOC I havent decided whats inside there, its up to Assatru whether they get ambushed by rebels or met by friedly forces.

The men and women of the pantycellen 12th and 48th regiments of assault guard started to fortify their base around the drab little town they had landed in, the local people seemed to have mainly cleared out but a few stayed and watched as construction battalion earth movers leveled out the beginnings of a landing strip for the squadron that was following as soon as there were places for them to land.

Angharad Evans looked around at her troops as they began to assemble the prefab fortifications she could see the first of the watch towers go up near the compound wall. She hoped her patrolls came into contact with governmental forces soon as she hated working in the dark.

Would it be possible for us to send some soldiers (45th Division) and some tanks to aid in eliminating the rebel threat. Our best General, Lord Korsax Loranov would lead these men personally if accepted.

NLAS Fort-City - 25 Miles north of the Capital

Thergo special forces placed several bomb charges on the South Wall. After detonating them the 4 foot soldiers ran inside the hole, they were met by heavy machine gun fire. 1 man fell to the ground. "RAGEL!" Lance Corporal Jerimeha Carnell screamed. His forces were now staring down the wrong end of a tank.

Carnell and his right-hand man Victor Makeigh hid behind a rock. Victor franticly pulled out his radio. "FO[Foward Ops] this is Desert Rat 3! We need an airstrike at Zero, Sierra, 0-4 Niner-4-niner. Target is an APC, over!"

"Roger that" a deep voice responded "Desert Rat 3. The target was an Armoured Patrol Carrier at Zero. Sierra. Zero. Four. Nine four nine. Over. Cobra gunship will be in the air ETA 2 minutes." Meanwhile the other man, George Collosimo, fought franticlly, shooting grenades at the NLAS soldiers and hiding behind a destroyed house.

The 3rd Tejano Motorized Division sat in the big transport boats, which were headed towards the shore of Assatru.
"So, what are we going to do, General?" Squad Leader Carlos Guerrero said to Major General Kurosawa Daichi.
"We go in and kill those stupid rebels," Daichi replied.
"You know we need a better plan," Guerrero replied, "We have armored buses filled with soldiers fresh out of military training with random guns from the Big Storage Room of Guns in the exclave. And these rebels just overthrew the whole Assatruvian government."
"Right. Here's the plan we came up with," Daichi said, handing Carlos a copy of a drawing scribbled in pencil. The squad leader walked back to his squad.
"So, we have a pencil drawing," Will, a fat kid with discipline problems said, sneering.
"Do you want RPG duty or cannon fodder duty?" Carlos growled.

OCC: So this is what happened with the flooding thread. I was wondering what the conclusion was.

IC:

Captain Redhawk looked down at his command screen as fighting erupted. Several rebels attacked his aircabs which barely got out alive.

He sent a message back to his command at home.

"Heart Four, Heart Four, this is Comfort Six: Fighting has erupted. Comfort is no longer safe. Withdrawing from area as soon as we have finished offloading pateints. Comfort Six OUT"

The fact that the airship was now a traige station helped tremendously. All it took was a normal run to all the medical stations and the Comfort was clear of all patients.

Redhawk sent one last message to the Government of Assatru.

"To the respected nation of Assatru,

We regret to inform you that The Comfort and her supply ships must leave the area at once. The Comfort is a medical airship with no defence of her own. Because of the increased level of violence, we are no longer in a position to provide aid. We regret having to depart under such circumstances, but we have no choice. We wish you all the best.

Roman Military Base, Space Union...

The Commanders looked at how long the ships were. The map showed that they are 1 hour away from reaching Assatru. The Commander of the base pushed the alert button to alert all the troops will begin boarding their planes immediately. After 20 minutes of the alarms blarring, hopefully not waking the citizens of Space Union, the troops were packed into the planes and were ready to take off. The Ground crews rushed away from the aircrafts after the were fueled and the pilots were sited into the cockpits.

The planes were taxied one by one until every aircraft. The planes began their course to the airport in Assatru and begin their peacekeeping duty.

On the High seas...

The Ships arrived in Assatru water after hours of being bored. The Ships began their course now the the seaport after recieving the coordinates.

Armored buses flooded onto the Assatruvian shores. The rebel-controlled city near the coast was soon filled with Tejano soldiers. The area was empty of rebels. Kurosawa figured that they were all busy, although he was far from sure.
As soon as all the rebel officials in the town had been either killed or captured, Kurosawa went into a local radio broadcasting station and broadcasted this message:
"This city, until the United Socialist States of Assatru can assume control of it again, is under the control of the People's Republic of H-Town Tejas!"
Drivers parked the armored buses in a defensive perimeter while the fresh-out of-training soldiers set up heavy machine guns next to them. At least, the ones who paid attention during basic training did. The ones who didn't could barely open a tripod without breaking it.
Kurosawa sighed.
'I wish I was still on anti-partisan duty in the Exclave,' he thought.

In Assatru Waters...

The ships containing the marines and sailors reached the port. The commanders didn't want to barge into the sea port, if they did, they would look like the enemies of Assatru. The commanders ordered a squad of Marines from the MEUs on Zodiac Rubber Rafts to enter the sea port and explain that Rome is here.

After a few minutes of preparation, The squad lifted their Zodiac and marched on the LCAC. After the LCAC was prepared, the landing craft backed away from the LPD-20 San Antonio.

The LCAC then began surfing across the ocean. The LCAC than paused half way from the ships and the sea port. The Marines then lifted the Zodiac and marched to the landing ramp. With the help of the LCAC crew, the Marine hopped on and the raft backed away from the ramp and begin cruising to the sea port.

After a few minutes, the raft arrived at the port. The marines got off the raft and climbed onto the dock. The Marines then pulled out the M16A4s, M240Gs, and M16A4 Squad Advanced Marksman Rifles. The began patrolling the port to see if any friendlies were around, so the marines can deliver the message they Rome has arrived.

A lone Thergonese Military Policeman patroling the piers (Other thergonese are farther inland by the office buildings and ship houses.) walked up to the Roman soldiers. He slung his SA-18 over his solider to show the Roman's that he wasn't gonig to fire it. To further prove his point he clearly turned the saftey on his sidearm. Walking up to a soldier that looked like an officer he said "Do you need any assistance."

The Marines were stopped by someone who could have been a soldier od Assatru. The Commander of the Squad, Sergeant Jayagopal, put swung his rifle the same way as the soldier who apporached his team.

"Hello, my name is Sergeant Jayagopal and this is my squad. We the Nation of Roman have arrived to assist Assatru. All we require is assistance to allow our ships to dock and unload our equipment and begin our peacekeeping job. We have been told that more Roman soldiers are arriving by transports and will be here shortly. We need to open up and prepare the ground personnel to care for the incoming planes."
