To Destinus From Destiny : Diplomatic Conference Semi Open

Novacom

OOC: if anyone wishes to join in they must first land at one of the Outlying Port Fortress Islands that surround most of Novacom Territory, to name a few they are Divango, Lystadan, Jekreldon, Mahasinta, Zalkour, Mjneena, Gaijidias, Journtal. If anyone wants to be unique and land at another one of the Fortress Port Islands TG me and I'll name a few others.
IC: The Final Preparations were complete Invitations had been dispatched, the Fortress Port Island Cities surrounding Novacom had been notified to expect visitors and the Navy and Air force had been stepped up to high alert quadroupling the already intense patrols of the outer limits of Novacom Territorial Waters, a nuclear attack on a refugee ship and the current situation with a resurgant Admiral Kukonois, meant that the threat to any visitors was not being underestimated.

On Destinus Isle, one of the Larger Novacom Landmasses and the home of Novesia the Novacom Capitol city, The Great Catacombs underneath the city were being scoured for anything amiss, after all the conference was to be held in the Great Halls of Destiny were numerous Historic Pacts were signed. Elite Enforcers would be leading Troops of Novacom Army Soldiers in their Patrols ID checks were frequent on any citizen that was permitted to the governmental sections of the Catacombs, Guards stood at every door.

The Cliff Face air facility that serviced the Catacombs was on high alert ready to receive Transports relaying Diplomats and their Entourages from one of the outlying Isles. Discipline was tight this was a historic occasion for the first time in 7,000 years Novacom had issued an invitation to friendly Nations to send Diplomats to discuss the terms of a new alliance, the fact that the Negotiations were to take place in the heart of Novacom territory, Destinus Isle no less.

The Suprainister, Denteth Tolion had abandonned his office to instead take watch in the War Room, in particular the map of Novacom Territory so he could see when the Delegates would arrive at one of the Outlying Islands and then be transferred to Novacom Diplomatic Parralaxes and heavy escort to the Heart of Novacom, Destinus itself. He himself was suprised at his audacity to hold the conference here instead of Twingo, Viganigango Muldredgnen or perhaps Pourojoienen. It was symbolic really, Novacom was being remade anew and the happenings of the next few days would be critical.

Down in the Halls being prepared for the Conference Foreign Minister Hugoro Sarestus would bustle about inspecting minute details, he would then quickly alternate from one language to another while talking to the translators as if to test them on their fluency. Foreign Ministry Personell themselves are bustling about assissting the Soldiers in making sure everything was perfect, Banners were checked for the correct proportions fittings were tripple checked nothing was being left to chance. Even the floor was being checked for even the slightest crack.

The Xirniumite Airbus A380 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_A380) X-1 landed flawlessly on the tarmac of the International Airport of Zalkour, one of Novacom’s mighty Fortress Port Islands. It had received the correct clearance from the Novacom authorities, and was escorted in along the designated flight plan without incident.

At the edge of Novacom airspace, 12th and 13th Tactical Fighter Squadrons (flying Mikoyan Project 1.44 escort fighters) had turned back for their long journey home, having successfully delivered the high-level delegation safely.

Amongst the tightest security, Lord High Grand Cardinal Vernius himself exited the aircraft, flanked by his Inquisition-provided Acolyte guard, the best of the best that Xirnium could offer. The Acolytes were completely unarmed, a show of respect to their Novacom guests, however they were far from harmless. Each and every one was a deadly killer, unquestioningly loyal, perfectly disciplined and completely ruthless. Though the Xirniumites did not fear any harm within their ally’s borders, it was completely unprecedented to allow a Grand Cardinal, a member of the Patriarchate of the High Ecclesiarchy, to leave the country. It was a true testament to the seriousness with which Holy Xirnium regarded its sacred alliance with Novacom.

‘Greetings to noble Novacom, from the most glorious Holy Empire of Xirnium!’ the Grand Cardinal announced to the waiting Novacom welcoming party. ‘The Immortal God-Emperor sends his boundless blessings. I am High Lord Vernius, a Grand Cardinal of the High Ecclesiarchy,' he explained, indicating himself, 'and this is Lord High Grand Inquisitor Norath of the Inquisition's High Council.' The wizened and darkly cloaked old man standing next to the Grand Cardinal bowed graciously, but chose to remain silent. He seemed uncomfortable in the open, almost as if unused to the bright light of day.

'We are honoured to be your guests in Holy Novacom.’

Having been invited quite unexpectedly to this summit, Commisar Adrik Fedyenka finally landed on Journtal, after acquiring proper clearance, for it was one of the few fortress islands he remembered the location of. With such a quick schedule he didn't know much about the culture, or even truly what language they spoke here. He just hoped they had translators for some type of Cyrillic language, or this summit would turn quite interesting.

He got out of his ship, a small fighter outfighted with countermeasures and an extra engine instead of the guns normally found on the thing. It was painted white with red stripes, symbolizing the diplomatic nature of the vehicle. Adrik grimaced as he saw the environs, hostile in every way. The guards looked ready to shoot someone, and at the moment he was anxious for his own to get out. Finally they did, outfitted with the best heavy armor and repeating bolters (magnetic railguns), two bodyguards hopped out with large thuds, saluting Adrik and then walking on either side of him at attention as he wandered towards wherever it was he was led to.

In a Slovakian Dialect he spoke to the envoy awaiting diplomats here.

"Greetings sir, I am Adrik Fedyenka, diplomat from the Federation of United Slovakia. It is a pleasure to be in your fine country, but a bit of a surprise as well I might confess. Nevertheless, I shall try my best on such a short notice to give my best diplomatic input on the subject at hand."

"We are coming in to Mjneena International Airfeild Sir" Said the Pilot in a German Accent. He was flying the S-76 VoVo Jet. The pilot was well versed in this type of plane. He was starting the approach to the Strip.

"Thanks for the Update" Said the Diplomat. His name is Adolph Verkanas. A very capable diplomat. He knew many languages and spoke many of them fluently. He bounced alitte as the planes wheels hit the ground. He hoped to make Skitsojd an Integral part of this Meeting.

"The plane is now stopped, you may stand up and get ready" The Pilot said. Adolph stood up and picked up his laptop computer. As he neared the Stairs to the Tarmac he waited a moment for his Body Guards to leave. Once on the Tarmac, he walked over to the Nearby Envoy and his Guards.

"Guten Tag. I am Herr Verkanas. Diplomat for the Grand Republic of Skitsojd" Adolph said. He then was directed into a Limosine.

OOC: Just a slight note, my greeters aren't kidding the electrical storms make the Bermuda look like a light afternoon shower, Novacom Equipment was developed to be immune to this and thanks for all the interest so far, this is gonna be fun :D

Zalkour Island

Welcome Lord High Cardinal, Welcome Lord High Inqusitor it is indeed a great honour to welcome you to Zalkour, if you'll come this way we'll take you to the Parrallax that will take you on the last leg of your journey, I must however insist any Electronic Equipment should be entrusted to the care of the flight attendants onboard, as our Territory is renowned for it's dangerous electrical storms similar to those of the Bermuda Triangle and we wouldn't want your equipment to be damaged. Now please this way," The Leader of the Welcoming Party Timias Lorrnet would lead the party to a Parrallax as well as an Escort made up of 26 of the New Model Elite Hijir and 4 of the Prototype Vindicator. When all is ready the aircraft and Escort would take off accelerating through the skies at high speed, A spectacular view of Novacom territory can be seen for the first time ever outsiders would see what Novacom Territory or at least a part looked like as there existed no maps of the enigmatic nations territory outside of the nation itself.

Mjneena Island

The Limousine would pull up and the Diplomat and his Entourage would be transferred to another Parrallax with it's escort of 26 Elite Hijir and 4 prototype Vindicator, "Welcome onboard Mr. Verkanas, this flight will take you to Destinus and the Conference however though I must insist any Electronic Equipment should be entrusted to the care of the flight attendants onboard, as our territory is renowned for it's dangerous electrical storms similar to those of the Bermuda Triangle and we wouldn't want your equipment to be damaged."

Journtal Island

"I welcome you Honoured Commisar Adrik Fedyenka, We are indeed glad you were able to come. We are sure that the conference shall result in a great benefit to us all. Now please Ambassador this way, I must however warn you though that when you are in conference your guards must be armed only with a simple handgun, all other weaponry will be stored safely until the conference is over, there should be no need for weaponry at all as we would never dare attack a guest in our nation our culture simply isn't like that. Also however though you will have to entrust any and all Electrical equipment to the Attendants onboard as our Territory is infested with potent storms similar to those of the Bermuda Triangle, and to make sure your equipment is not damaged it will need to be stored in the hold, I hope you enjoy your flight and the conference." The Greeter would kindly wave the Diplomat on, he only hoped he'd done all the correct pronunciations of Cyclic, there was after all no language truly similar to Novan and getting pronunciations correct was extremely difficult (Also next to nobody knows much about Novacom Culture anyway so your not alone :P ).

The Transports would quickly take off and begin their journey

On all the Islands were Representative's had landed they and their Escort would take off and accelerate at high speeds, it wouldn't take long for them to get engulfed in colossal storms however though the transports and their escorts would be unfazed after all this was their homeland and despite their homelands attempts to keep them back in the stone age they prevailed in these conditions, they thrived in them. It wouldn't take long for all the Transports to link up and begin to slow down, eventually after passing over many islands some colossal (think the size of Great Britain) and some smaller isles eventually they would near the largest island yet and would begin to make for the mountain, however though they would go in lower and began to approach the cliff face next to a large Canyon and from the Vantage point it can be seen to be a colossal and busy city the tallest building a crystal like spire would gleam brighter than a thousand suns from reflected sunlight, The lands around it looked a pure Paradise untouched by the hand of man vast forests and jungles further south could be seen the thin yellow line of a desert and in the heart of the forest a vast lake could be seen. The Transports would angle in as if planning to ram the cliff wall head on and would begin their final deceleration, as they get closer you can see that in the cliff face is a somewhat large slit and as the Transports would land in there it's instantly clear that it's an Air Facility.

Mechnicians would be working on craft in the corner and Novacom Banners on the wall, As the Transports would land their Stairs deploying and at the bottom of the stairs in a large square carefully cleared is a Single Man surrounded by 4 Ominous looking Bodyguards, Elite Enforcers they contrasted starkly to the band in the background playing a strange piece, one that would
invoke feelings of friendship comfort and safety while aspiring to high and bold inspirational heights.

"Welcome my Friends I am Vice Foreign Minister, Juulan Tasame and this is my Assistant Attaché Taviron Horten," He would gesture at a tall gaunt figure that had been concealed behind one of the stern bodyguards, after being mentioned he would step out and break into a friendly smile, from another direction 3 more officials would also appear, translating the Vice Ministers
slightly garbled english into the delegate's native languages, "If you'll follow the Attaché he'll take you to the Conference, I however must wait here to greet the remainder of the Delegates when they arrive," The Attaché would kindly wave all the Delegates and their assorted Entourage close to him and 8 Enforcers would appear and flank the party as the Attaché leads the
group to a large elevator at the side of the facility.

Once in the Elevator and sure everyone was in the Attaché would get out a small logo and place it into a small groove above the keypad panel and after a few words in the song like cryptic Novan Language the Elevator would begin moving down, after a short moment the Elevator would be running down the Canyon wall showing a breathtaking view of Novesia, Men Women and Children can be seen rallying down a street waving Novacom flags and Banners, the Tall buildings would appear to be elegance themselves, a great park can be seen with strange animals frolicking, and through the Skies Phoenixes fly singing out for the world to hear.

The Attach would motion for the Delegates to sit at a small array of chairs facing out over the city, after about 3 minutes view of the wonderful city the Elevator would plunge down into the Dark Depths underground, after another 5 minutes the elevator doors would yawn open wide revealing great vaulted halls of mysterious Catacombs, Next to the Elevator would be awaiting a
small set of Jeep like Vehicles, Obviously waiting for a Delegation in each, a small party of Foreign Ministry Officials instantly visible as being governmental by the blue elements of their uniform.

An Official would escort each delegation to a separate vehicle while the Attach would enter in one by himself, without a sound or even a whisper the Jeeps would begin moving through the vast caverns under the city, while the Convoy would see almost a fraction of the Catacombs the sheer scale would defy belief, after another 5 minutes where the Officials would answer any
questions they would arrive by a large grand pair of doors the Novacom Crest is carved on them and almost delicately painted.

The Attach leaps out of the vehicle and calls out grandly, "I welcome you now to a place where up until now no foreigner has ever seen yet alone set foot, you are the first Foreigners in the 7,000 year History to be welcomed this far into Novacom Territory, I must however no insist any weaponry heavier than a 9 mm handgun must be entrusted to my Enforcer Friends next to me, As it is culturally impossible for us to harm guests you have nothing to fear and as such we would like to make sure no-one else would have anything to fear from excessively armed guards." The Attache would Gesture at the straight faced Enforcer's they had effected their Dress Uniforms and somehow managed to look all the more deadly for it, the Skull Emblem of the Enforcers polished impossible bright and since it was dress uniform would be pinning the Tunic's over the heart, they looked quite a sight in black Blood red and Silver.

After the formalities were dealt with the Delegates would be brought forward to the door and it would gape open revealing a tall hall with an elegant yet simple decor, Novacom Banners and Flags bedecked the walls as well as strange carvings depicting epic scenes and on the Long table would be small flags of each of the nations present, surrounding the long table are a set of
smaller tables in which 8 could sit round easily, the room was spacious and simply furnished contrasting and shaped strangely with 2 large enclave's on either side.

A Tall man that would be familiar to some would step out of the shadows at a door of the other end, Foreign Minister Hugoro Sarestus, it had taken him some time to recover from his little mishap at Imperial Raven but he looked quite unfazed for it he would welcome each Delegate in turn greeting them in their Native Language and introducing himself and then assisting each delegate to their assigned place, "Your Entourage if they so wish may avail themselves of the tables around the room, however though if you leave this room during the talks you must be escorted as the Catacombs are vast beyond belief and it would not do for you to be lost, your governments if they send any communications will be routed down to a nearby room awaiting you
as they would need to be routed through the outlying Islands through our own highly secure communications network, as most if not all other xommunications are scrambled quite quickly due to the nature of our territory, toilets are also available, if you need a moments privacy the two doors over there and there are available, however though unless you handed all your electronics equipment to your flight attendants I regret to inform you it will no be completely unable to function, however down here they can function however though if you require a connection to your homeland we can arrange you one, Whilst all of the Delegates have not yet arrived I do hope that in the mean time you will talk amongst yourselves and with me if you so wish so we may get to know each other while waiting. There is a small buffet table just to the right of me in that enclave if you desire anything not there please do not hesitate to let me or one of my staff know," The Minister would Bow gently and wait for the Translators to finish making his words known, he himself had effected english instead of Novan simply so as many visitors as possible would be able to understand him.

Adrik Fedyenka looked around this new area. Both inhospitable, and lovely at the same time, he was momentarily reminded of his own home planet. Slovakia, one of the few hospitable planets in his galaxy, lush and green with no irregular weather... just beauty. He remembered how capitalism had ruined a lot of the pristine land, but it would take awhile, thankfully, to destroy it all. But here he was now, sitting at a table, two armed guards at his side, albeit poorly armed now, and the diplomats from nations he had never even heard off sitting around him. He sighed, and wondered again what he had gotten into when he decided to be a diplomat, but decided that a quiet room was never good for conversation. Quickly flipping on his translator, and selecting, from the best of his ability, the national languages of all the nations around him, he spoke up.

"Well, here we are then gentlemen... I suppose this is the apex of a new era for this land, and we're part of it. It's moments like these that make me think twice as to why I became a diplomat, hmm? The fame, and the recongnition is both a blessing, and a curse as I'm sure most of you know... Anyway, enough of that, I'm simply talking to myself in all honesty. However, if anyone would, what is the first manner of business in these talks?"
Adrik mentioned this casually, both trying to play himself off as inspirational, and more creative in his form, and rather far sighted in his thinking and planning. An artist, if you will, in his own way. Quickly after he was finished, his translator makes a slight beeping noise, and spouts out the first language, with few irregularities. The second, with few irregularities as well, albeit both loose some of the sophistication and language in his speech, it's meaning, and his question, is portrayed accurately.

The Lord High Grand Cardinal and Grand Inquisitor talked quietly amongst themselves and their entourage. They were quite impressed with the splendour of this place and honoured to have been the first foreigners in millennia to have set foot here. Unfortunately, they had little time to savour its delights, and constantly spoke in hurried whispers about important matters of state.

This is a vitally important mission for Holy Xirnium, the Grand Cardinal thought darkly while he listened to the Grand Inquisitor give his mentally-derived analysis of the situation. The Holy Empire of Xirnium had many brutally powerful enemies and, though they had been completely crushed in the last Xirnium War, the cost of victory had been immense.

But our victory had been total, the Grand Cardinal thought with grim satisfaction. Torontia, which had foolishly sought to carve its own genocidal Empire on Xirniumite soil had been utterly defeated. Its pittiful nation had collapsed in anarchy and its government had fled like a whipped dog. Now occupied by no less then three different nations, Torontia was ravaged by civil war. Those who had been involved in the criminal invasion of Xirnium had payed for it with their lives, tried of warcrimes and executed by the High Supreme Court. Even now, Inquisitors worked with impunity in Torontia, having assassinated dozens more former government or military officials implicated in atrocities in the unlawful war. Yes, the fury of the Immortal God-Emperor is something terrible indeed.

Nor had the Kraven Corporation survived its invasion unscathed. Their expeditionary forces had been completely annihilated, their blasphemous warfleet routed. It had been a humiliating defeat they would not soon forget.

And yet, despite this, Holy Xirnium existed in a state of perpetual danger. Kraven still existed, and would surely one day return with a might army to wage its unrighteous war of extermination against Holy Xirnium. When they finally do, the High Ecclesiarchy had better have forged some new and strong alliances, thought the Grand Cardinal sourly.

‘Yes indeed, Mr Fedyenka, let’s get right down to business,’ the Grand Cardinal said, never one to relax while work waited to be done. ‘We can, of course, begin with the relatively simple matter of establishing mutually beneficial trade pacts.’

At this the Grand Cardinal took a deep breath and sat down in his high-backed chair, regarding the other delegates intently.

OOC: feel free to invite more ppl :D

"Yes indeed, I think it would be prudent to lay out what our each nations most important imports, and then we can move on from there," he leans back slightly in the high backed chair smiling gently, he had by now more than recovered from his flight from Imperial Raven and was infinitely more confident of any repeat perofmrances not happening in his own homeland, 7,000 years of Satbility doesn't go away easily.

He eyed the Xirnium delegates, remembering that after this was over he needed to talk to them privately regarding the reonstuction packages that had been formulated.

"Ambassador Verkenas, Ambassador Fedyenka, Lord High Cardinal what are your stances on free trade may I enquire?" he relaxes yet more in his chair, this was definetly a far better atmosphere than that of Imperial Raven he'd never forget how close he had came to being held hostage, he never had found out what had happened to the others, he made a mental note to find out later. After the conference of course, he idly wonders where the other delegates are, there had been more invitations sent out than this.

Adrik looked around simply as everyone spoke, nodding and giving positive affirmations only for a while. At the questions however he responded simply.

"If I may tell, The Federation of United Slovakia is very much a free trade nation. What we need now actually is fuel cells for our ships, and upgraded weaponry. We have never been truly a conquering race, but in this galactic world in which we live in, we need to be ready as I'm sure you all realize. We have numerous exports from our colonies, mostly of agricultural nature, but our industry is also far above subpar."

He smiles, flicking his translator again before resuming to look around the room at the other delegates.

Edit: sorry, just realized I posted this on the wrong account. Doh! Ah well, as you see this is indeed United Slovakia.

A small twin-engine plane closed in on the fortress island of Lystadan. It’s black and white colouring, with images of a golden Dragon painted on its wings and fuselage, declared it as the Imperial Households private jet.

The plane sat down on the Airport in Lystadan, and quickly came to a stop. A gap in the side of the aircraft opened out into exit stairs and from it emerged a group of six people. Two remained at the foot of the planes entry, while the others made their way to the waiting escort.

The waiting envoy could by now see the party clearly. The two men walking behind were obviously guards, though they had no visible weapons. In front was a tall man in the black dress uniform of the Yallakian Army and next to him came a slightly shorter person in black robes, with a hood that covered their face.

The tall man spoke as they stopped in front of the envoy.

“Greetings. I am Baelin, High Lord of Kilrah and this is His Emminence, The Imperial Chancellor, Lord Merrech. We are most honoured by your invitation. The Emperor sends his regrets that he could not personally attend.”

"I welcome you High Lord Baelin and Lord Chancellor Merrech. Now please this way, I must also respectfully request that all equipment of an electronic nature be entrusted to the flight attendants during your journey, the nature of Novacom Territory and it's potent Bermuda Triangle like storms would quite easily damage your equipment." The Envoy would half bow before gesturing for the group to follow, they would be taken into the heart of the mountain fortress itself and were led onto a Parridigram of strange modification, the entire runway if it could be called that glowed with a cryptic and strange light, The delegation would be escorted on and strapped in after stowing all electronics not of Novacom Origin into a large compartment.

"Parridigram NMPX-001 you are cleared for first acceleration," echoes softly throughout the area, the transport would accelerate at almost supernatural speeds through the passage like runway, out into the skies it would soar at blinding speeds, the views seen by the other delegates wold be much abbreviated "This journey will be much shorter honoured visitors as your safety is paramount and a particularly violent storm is due in an hour and the journey from Lystadan usually takes 2," The Attendant smiles nicely and bows as she goes back down to the front of the craft. outside great oceans mountains caped in snow, deserts and forests would pass by. Eventually a huge Island would come into view (about the size of France + the UK) the craft would begin to slowly descend and head for a large mountainous and rocky region, as the transport got closer slowing down immensely but still angled for a sheer and high cliff wall, a great canyon can be seen, in it nestled a bustling city. The Transport would continue to the cliff wall and a small slit would become visible as the transport gets closer it can be seen to be an air facility, the Transport touches down.

A Tall Figure in Novacom Uniform with radiant blue streaks can be seen waiting with a small entourage, "I Welcome the Honourable Delegation from The Infinite Empire of Yallak, I am Vice Foreign Minister, Juulan Tasame and this is my Assistant Attaché Taviron Horten, if you'll follow the Attache he will take you to the conference hall" The Very man himself would step out from behind the stren enforcer that had shrouded him from inquiring view. "if you will follow me I will take you to the conference hall." he would with a noble twirl turn after motioning to be followed, he would lead the way to a great elevator which as it descends would show a breathtaking view of a city rarely gazed upon by outsiders eyes. Upon arrival at the bottom deep under the sturdy ground the Attache would wait for his charges to enter into a jeep like vehicle which would hurry through vast vaunted hall like Catacombs seemingly expanding onwards into mysterious eternity.

As the vehicle would pull up by a large and grand door the Attache would motion to the door, "through here is the meeting, however though I recognise professional bodyguards when I see them and so do my Enforcer friends here," he pauses motioning at the lethal looking guards around him embelished in silver and red. "I must insist that before entering any weaponry heavier than a 9mm handgun shall be turned over." After the formalities would be taken care of the great doors would at last silently yawn open revealing the conference room, it's high vaulted ceiling it's strange shaped central table and surrounding halo of smaller tables, evidently meant for guards. "AH I weclome you to Novacom, we were just getting started it is good to see that our honoured guests from Yallak were able to make it here at short notice." Hugoro Saretus would rise up and bustle forward making to shake hands with the Chancellor and High Lord.

"and yes Ambassador Fedyenka we would be more than happy to export power sources and military equipment but perhaps the military side of any agreement would perhaps be left till after the trade aspect has been hammered out, as some of our weapons technology is of a highly sensitive nature," The Veteran Minister would smile widely to the noble visitors in this proud hall. Indeed the military aspect would be much better left till later there were some secrets that could not be revealed until a binding pact had been signed, namely Damocles...

[ooc: Damn, I was composing a huge post and it got lost... I love Jolt... :headbang: Anyway, the most important part (IC wise) is summarized below.]

The plane touched down for landing, breaking the cold bleak clouds and finally skidding to a halt on the rain-flecked tarmac. While [Undersecretary to the Minister for Foreign Affairs] Damian Hertz was the first to exit the plane, followed by several security guards, Arius [son of the Emperor Lucius I] was the first to speak.

"Greetings to the Nation of Novacom... I am Arius... Crown Prince Arius, but you may drop the title if you so wish. I come from the Imperium, Banduria." There was an awkward pause as he collected his further thoughts. "I am sorry that my father could not attend this conference. As they entered the room, Lord Baelin shook hands with Hugoro, while the two guards headed off to one of the smaller tables. Lord Baelin moved to sit down next to him.

OOC: I'll take it you lnaded at Jekreldon since it's the closest fort port to the rest of the region

"Think nothing of it Crown Prince, Please this way," The Envoy would motion for the Crown Prince and Entourage to follow, "I must however request that you hand all of your electronic devices to the cabin crew when you board, Novacom Territory is infested with electrical storms that ruin all electronics, however since this is our homeland we are well used to them," The entourage would be hustled onto a Parrdigram and after the formalities were exchanged it would take off, it wouldn't take long for it to arrive, and the journey would be mostly uneventful due to the flight path, as the transport began it's deceleration angled critically for the cliff wall, not far away a great canyon can be seen in it nestled the bustling Novacom Capitol of Novesia, or at least the parts of it that were above ground...

The Transport would touch down in the air facility hidden away in the cliff face, "I weclome you Crown Prince of Banduria, My Attache shall take you to the conference," The Deputy Minister would bow gently and gesture to his attache, who would lead the group to the large elevator that would descend into the depths of the ancient land, before however a magnificent view of the mysterious city could be seen, a mesh of black can be seen filling the streets and massive banners can be seen to be waved and giant and fiercly proud roars shake the elevator slightly as the noise fills the entire canyon.

The Attache would usher the Bandurian Entoruagre into a jeep like vehicle which would hustle quickly through the cryptically ancient catacombs, great sights can be seen, some almost defy beleif, eventually they reach a great door that could be seen closing, "I must insist that your guards surrender all weapons larger than a 9mm handgun to the Enforcers," the Attache would gesture at a small squad of sinister looking men, After this formaility would be taken care of the door would gape open to the Yallak representative's just sitting down, Hugoro Sarestus still up would hurry forward, "Welcome Crown Prince Arius of Banduria to Novacom we were just discussing trade agreements as the first part of the conference." he would motion the Bandurian representative's to the strange table with it's middle missing and instead a great half pillar descending from the ceiling with 6 monitors arrayed at the bottom, they were blank at the moment. The Minister would bustle back to his seat, "I beleive that is nearly everyone, more may come but we will have advanced warning, and your lateness is not a problem, our first port of call should be to sign a trade Agreement between the assembled nations, something that would greatly strengthen the economies of the assembled nations in this world where warfare and massacre run rampant. Unless of course anyone else has something they wish to propose?" The Minister woud lean back in his chair and smile kindly.

Arius made most of the journey in silence. It was difficult to do so otherwise. He had never seen sights even remotely similar to these... the strange, mysterious nestled cities and huge bare cliffs, the caverns and sights within... a faint tang of the forgotten, living air of untold centuries... places one could not imagine from the seemingly tame enclaves of the Imperium itself. Then again, Emperor Lucius had crushed all cultural traditions, attempting to enforce his own doctrines upon the nation... but that was not Arius’s concern now.

Eventually their jeep trundled to a stop outside the massive doors, and he was vaguely conscious of watching the guards surrender their guns to a dimly outlined group of men as he tried to process everything in his brain and prepare himself for what was coming next. With wonder, for a few minutes, he stared upon the room within, before dazedly accompanying the delegation to their place at the table...

He heard, dimly, the man at the center—a Minister, or so he remembered—speaking... Forcing the world back into focus, Arius spoke.

"No—no, I think that should be our first order." He went over the plans he had thought up along the seven-hour journey in his head... the various motions. All in due time.

The Phoenixian-designed PX-801 was five hours later after the Xirniumite aircraft arrived. The delegate representing Southeast Asia was Jonah Abucago, a Filipino man of average height and an amicable appearance. He was here to observe and reconcilate relations with the Xirniumites....secretly, when the cameras were away of course.

The Xirniumite delegation had risen from their seats in a mark of respect as the Yallakian group had entered. The High Lords of Xirnium, Grand Cardinal Vernius and Grand Inquisitor Norath had greeted their noble allies with hearty handshakes before returning to their seats.

‘Holy Xirnium has a policy which favours free trade and the reduction of tariffs and quotas. When trade occurs, everyone gains. However, the High Ecclesiarchy is particularly interested in negotiating a deal for the trade of strategic resources, which we require for our vital manufacturing industries’ the Grand Cardinal explained.

Pausing a little, he took a sip from the glass of water in front of him and continued. ‘Our largest resources include coal, copper, lead, phosphates, uranium, gold, iron ore, mercury, aluminium, nickel, silver, tungsten, zinc, petroleum, natural gas, timber, and fish. We have insufficient sources of bauxite, antimony, arsenic, potash and gypsum for our needs, and consequently we import large quantities of these.

‘Unfortunately, the premium we pay for them is quiet high, so the High Ecclesiarhcy would be more then happy to negotiate contracts for the importing of these materials, and the exporting of those we have in abundance.’

"We welcome the Southeastasian representative to Divango, now please follow me," The Envoy would motion for the representative and his Entourage to follow, "I must however request that you hand all of your electronic devices to the cabin crew when you board, Novacom Territory is infested with electrical storms that ruin all electronics, however since this is our homeland we are well used to them," The group would be hustled onto a Parrdigram and after the formalities were exchanged it would take off, it wouldn't take long for it to arrive, and the journey would be mostly uneventful due to the flight path, as the transport began it's deceleration angled critically for the cliff wall, not far away a great canyon can be seen in it nestled the bustling Novacom Capitol of Novesia, or at least the parts of it that were above ground...

The Transport would touch down in the air facility hidden away in the cliff face, "I welcome the honourable delegation from Southeastasia, My Attache shall take you to the conference," The Deputy Minister would bow gently and gesture to his attache, who would lead the group to the large elevator that would descend into the depths of the ancient land, before however a magnificent view of the mysterious city could be seen, a mesh of black can be seen filling the streets and massive banners can be seen to be waved and giant and fiercly proud roars shake the elevator slightly as the noise fills the entire canyon.

The Attache would usher the Southeastasian group into a jeep like vehicle which would hustle quickly through the cryptically ancient catacombs, great sights can be seen, some almost defy beleif, eventually they reach a great door that could be seen closing, "I must insist that your guards surrender all weapons larger than a 9mm handgun to the Enforcers," the Attache would gesture at a small squad of sinister looking men, After this would be taken care of the gates would at least silently swing open revealing a high ceilinged room.

Hugoro Saretus would sweep forward from his chair to shake hands with Jonah Abucago, "Welcome to Novacom Jonah Abucago, please take a seat," with this he would motion to a seat and then go back to his own, "of course Lord Baelin I'll give you a brief rundown of our policies, All trade is free to a certain degree. Any imports are first offloaded at a Fotress Port Island and then inspected, Anyone company or nation wishing to export products to Novacom must first pass a test that what they are exporting is of equal quality or greater quality than that of Novacom Manufacturing, they must also pass a test of how environmentally firednly they are. There are several reasons for this, when Novans buy a product it is expected to have a long life if applicable and when the time comes for disposal it is expected to be easily recycled as we currently recycle 92.8% of all rubbish generated by our populace the remainded is dealt with accordingly. When a shipment arrives at a Port Fort it is inspected for any immigrants and if any are found then the company that brought them in is fined. If no immigrants are fined and everything clears then they are paid up front and then the products are relayed to their destination. Any Company and Nation is allowed to trade once they pass the first tests and that right to trade is reviewed every 3 years. We only refuse trade if they fail the tests or if the nation has shown itself to be wrongdoing somehow and in that case a complete embargo is placed. We charge no tarrifs unless the company is trying to break an anti flooding law (a law that prevents a company from selling a product at a loss in a market that is already developed) or any other of our relatively few trade regulatory laws, I hope that answers your question" the Minister smiles and gestures to the monitors above the table, which begin showing Charts showing import statistics in great detail.

"It does Minister", replied Lord Baelin, “so what do you…”
“We are getting ahead off ourselves Lord Baelin,” came Merrech’s voice, cutting him off. Merrech had anticipated the request for Novacom’s proposal on a trade agreement and was clearly not inclined to hear it yet. “We cannot consider signing an agreement between all the parties present without knowing all of them. Yallak has fought side by side with Novacom and Xirnium but know nothing of Banduria, United Slovakia or Southeastasia. This must be remedied before anything more can be concluded here.”

"Ah... forgive me gentlemen, for a moment I seem to have lost my manners. The Federation of United Slovakia is simply a conglomerate that wishes to spread a sense of freedom and security to it's people. We're free trade, free speech, and allow our citizens to participate in free elections. At the moment we are not allied to anyone, nor have me much in the way of foreign agreements of trade or security concerns. That is the main reason for our attendance today, to make us more open and willing to take in foreign ideas, products, and culture." Adrik paused for a moment before continuing "Regardless, I also, regretably, don't know much about the delegates present, so I would enjoy hearing about your respective nations if they are willing to speak."

He turns to the delegates from Xirnium next, apologetically adding,
"Oh, and do excuse me gentlemen of... Xirnium I believe? Do excuse me for interrupting you, I did wish to speak of trade with you at some step at this meeting."

"I humbly apologize." answered the Southeast Asian (OOC: there, THAT'S the right spelling ok?) delegate. "I'm here on the behalf of the cabinet and to observe this diplomatic conference."

"However," he turned to the Novacom hosts, "I have two questions is it going to be on live TV? And is the press going to be photographing the meeting?"

Hugoro simply sat there having just taken a drink from an atendant going round the room and stared for a moment, the frothing Dizunal bubbling slightly, "I don't think I heard you right my friend, What do you mean the press photographig the meeting and this being live TV? The Press are simply not allowed into any governemntal facility without prior authorisation, and even if we were to show this conference on Novan TV, the signal wouldn't leave our homeisles, Afterwards if agreeable we could perhaps announce the results of the conference. Tough this does bring up an interesting proposition," he pauses to speak to all assembled "we would be interested in offering your boradcasters access to the Novacom Television Network and in return allow our Broadcasters access to your industry, mutual rules asscoiated in the industries would of course be applicable, for example all TV content and Press is screened for anything potentially inflamatory, we actually request for things to be removed on rare occasions however so don't think we censor everything left right and center, Things like the image from Kravonika of the Capitol Police Breeding program the more senstive ones at least would not be allowed to be shown."

He Pauses for a moment steadying himself slightly, he'd started shivering when he'd mention kraven. His narrow escape from the conference had been traumatic to say the least. Taking a large draught of the frothing white liquer he steadies himself, "On a Lighter note our leader will be down shortly, Suprainister Denteth Tolion is finishing his speech at today's rally in commemoration of time immemorial the defeat of the Diri E I G Ignen."

The Enforcers in the room would bellow a quick slogan dripping with hatred and hope in equal measures, in the middle of it can be heard the words Diri E I G Ignen, Hugoro would smile around and notice that the attendant was still offering drinks to the delegates, some were indecisive it seems. "The Blue liquid is Vikeral an aromatic tea grown on the slopes of the Tareltas mountain range, The Green fizzing liquid is Jeltas an aromatic wine grown from the Jewel grapes of Tivurelenogee, The Black is Vendus Ale brewed in the ancient city of Viderele, the white forthing liquid which I myself have is Dizunal a delicate liquer brewed in Novesia itself and as for the purple that is mixed fruit juice made from the fruits that are found only within our homeisles for some reason they don't adapt to other climates."

High Lord Vernius took a deep breath as he surveyed these Southeast Asian delegates, his eyes narrowing in scepticism. ‘I must admit that I’m more then a little hesitant in allowing Southeast Asia here,’ he began slowly, taking a sip from a glass before continuing.

‘The High Ecclesiarchy has formed the view that the Southeast Asian’s are grovelling fools uncommitted to any notion of justice or decency. Witness for example the oft used matra of the ingratiating Southeast Asian foreign ministry “at least their actions get the job done” to describe the methods of the filthy Freeks. They do get their unholy job done sir,’ he said, pointing to Jonah Abucago, his voice rising to anger, ‘and at the moment they are exterminating the Kahanistanians wholesale!’

The Grand Cardinal took another sip of the excellent Novacom wine before getting to his feet and pacing across the room, still talking angrily, ‘but is this all? Certainly not! While the Southeast Asians are only too eager to issue their sycophantic messages about the foul Freeks they have the gall to declare Kraven and the AKA as worse as each other! Utterly preposterous!’

‘No..’ the Grand Cardinal ended, laughing harshly, ‘I am more then a little sceptical of the intentions our friend Abucago and the Southeast Asians, people who have thrust aside Holy Xirnium’s open hand of friendship. To be honest, I feel we need nations with a little more spine in this alliance.’

The Grand Cardinal sat down, clearly annoyed. 'And we certainly will not be making this meeting public,' he said to the Novacom politician, his voice a little harder then he meant it.

"Gentlemen please... stay civil. We are in a diplomatic meeting in a nation that has not accepted foreign dignitaries in God knows how long... it's something they have been waiting for all this time... and it's important for their growth, as well as ours. Set aside your differences for now, and perhaps you'll find something good, or at the very least palpable, about dealing with one another. I myself do not care weather these talks are publicized... the people have a right to know what is happening in their government, for better or worse, and I think the sharing of media resources is a splendid idea that I myself, on behalf of the Slovakians, would love to take part in. Thusly, I second this notion and hope that others do as well..."

*he somewhat glares at the Southeast Asian delegate as well as the Xirnium one, seeming to stick closely traditional gentlemen conduct of a "true" diplomat and ruler. He also does this to emphasize his point, which by this time is more then likely being translated into their native tongues.*
Banduria
29-11-2005, 02:43
Arius listened to the Xirniumite cardinal speaking with some amusement. Bringing hard words to a diplomatic conference kind of defeated the purpose... The Slovakian delegate attempted to pacify the arguing Xirniumite and Southeast Asian groups. However, before the Slovakian had taken his seat, Arius himself was on his feet.

"Before the Imperium too is lashed to death with a tirade on the AKA," the Imperial delegation behind him chuckled, "I just thought I should clarify our own position. Officially, Banduria is neutral, supporting neither the Consortium nor the AKA. However, unofficially—and I'm counting on this never to leave this room—we support the AKA, and have for a long time."

Unafraid, Arius continued, "Although our authoritarian social and political policies may seem 'evil' or 'uncivilized' to an outside observer, the Imperium at least has honor and keeps to itself. Kraven, on the other hand, has no honor and fights war for its own sake—a dangerous threat to the world, and even to the Imperium. While Banduria on its own could easily defeat Kraven, we failed to give support because of the fear of retribution from its allies."

Arius bowed his head slightly, as though struggling to speak. "This was not my decision. I would have contributed even only a task force to the AKA, were I in my father's place. But with the threat of military retribution from Axis Nova, Bretton, and Automagfreek, and then the peace talks which we believed were lawful and legal... the Imperial Council decided against sending military aid.

"As to the media... I would advise caution. Some of what transpires here can be sent out to the people... and some of it should not. I would suggest limiting this broadcast to non-confidential information... only what you believe should be made public.

"If you must record the whole conference, please do not make our position on the AKA known. I am ashamed of it. I think now with the blood of Kahanistan on the Consortium's hands my father is too... but any aid we can send now would arrive too late and be too little..."

Arius sat back down, pensively...

The Xirniumite Grand Cardinal waved his hand dismissively. ‘The war between the Consortium and the AKA is of no concern to the High Ecclesiarchy,’ High Lord Vernius said. ‘While filthy Automagfreek and its lapdog allies are involved Kahanistan’s fate is sealed, and we can do nothing but watch as they are wiped out. It is not a dishonour to recognise one’s limitations.’

‘What is of concern to us, however, is Southeast Asia’s true intentions regarding Holy Xirnium. They hide behind their insultingly self-righteous veneer and have the nerve to criticise Holy Xirnium for crimes it committed long ago, refusing time and again our genuine attempts at friendship. So why have they come here now? We’ve no interest in a nation that says one thing and means another... if indeed they do mean something else,’ the Grand Cardinal said, his voice now calm, patiently waiting for the Southeast Asian delegate to respond.

Abucago learned that listening was more important than talking. He was glad that his parents taught him that. It had helped him learn the various tongues and dialects in Southeast Asia, and it was also important in public speaking and the world of diplomacy.

"The government of my nation thought that you had done not enough to correct those abuses then. But however, we were happy when we saw your offer to establish diplomatic relations with your state. And now time to link the press and this together. I'm awfully glad that the press is not here...on the day you made your offer, the media caught wind of it, and with the Southeast Asian people very unhappy with your actions then and it would have been political suicide for the cabinet. They had no choice but to brutally reject the offer - and yes, it seemed real, you do need to have some realistic acting in order to hide your true intentions in politics."

"Anyway, we do want to help. Even though you may well have signed a non-aggression pact, we all know that the Supreme Warlord of Automagfreek is an arrogant man: if I'm not wrong he eradicated an entire nation once because that state's representative rubbed the wrong side of him at an international conference. Just be careful, especially if he's had a bad day. We are willing to provide refuge to the High Ecclesiarchy should the Freeks invade and that you have to set a government in exile. And for the record, the cabinet does have a great suspicion that the government of Kahanistan may as well do so - we would if we we were invaded by a great military power such as Automagfreek."

"We are benign, we want to help. I'm doing this on the behalf of the cabinet and the other governmental branches. We will find ways to help, we will. However, to use the old saying, 'You can take a horse to the water, but you can't make it drink'. You must be willing."

The Grand Cardinal was mildly impressed with the Southeast Asian, certainly he seemed like a formidable politician. Of course, the Defence Minister of the High Ecclesiarchy continued to keep his guard up, always considering the possibile political ramifactions of ever spoken word. ‘The Southeast Asian executive need not worry about offering the Xirniumite government sanctuary,’ High Lord Vernius said. ‘Not only have the issues with Automagfreek been resolved most favourably in the opinion of the High Ecclesiarchy but also the entire Kraven War from Holy Xirnium’s perspective. We are now in the strange and unusual position of being at peace, and are content to return to our policy of splendid isolation. In effect, we can now concern ourselves with the important work of serving the Xirniumite people to the best of our ability, which is our only goal.’

‘We are also glad you feel that it might now be time to publicly warm relations between our two nations. In that case I think we can return to the dialogue at hand,’ said the Grand Cardinal, his tone still guarded, nodding graciously to the Southeast Asian delegate and the Novacom host. He took another, longer, sip of the Novacom wine. Others might find him too direct, but Lord High Grand Cardinal thought the manner in which the talks had gone so far to be most satisfactory. It is always better to get the primary issues of contention out into the open where they can be dealt with directly, he thought, as we have just done, rather then skirt around and avoid them.

A small procession of men would come in, in strange uniform wearing aprons and black chef's hat's they would slowly move to the 2 strange extensions of the room and set up on cooking areas and set to work, their aprons swaying gently as after they activate some machinery they exit and come back in a short time later, Hugoro somewhat releived that things had calmed down yet shuddering as the renewed trauma of reliving the memories of his slender escape from the so called peace talks, "Honoured guests when you touched down earlier it was morning and time has already passed us by as it is want to, Shortly we will all be able to dine on a wide selection of Novan cuisine, please do not be distracted as the chef's come in and out of the room from time to time."

He pauses for a second taking a draught of his Dizunal and clears his throat to continue speaking, "One more thing however, please refrain from mentioning The Consortium or the AKA, I consider this seperate completly, later on when we come to the military part of an agreement one of our General's will be giving a presentation on the reason behind the AKA and Consortiums success and failures and the reasons, Also anything made public about this meeting would be made so after it was found acceptable to ALL Parties and even then it would more than likely simply be a joint statement. I have a personal reason however though as my departure from the "Talks" as it were, were somewhat complicated for some unknown reason it was very traumatic unfortunatly,"

He sags back into his chair sighing somewhat, "However though I do hope we can come to an amicable agreement on trade first." he glances up at a large clock one of 2 in the room and realsing that the Suprainister will be down shortly, the really would have reached it's climax half an hour ago.

She then filled it up with the fluid, and placed the wine glass onto the table without a sound. The spokesperson for the Emerald Executive Recluse thanked her in his native tongue (OOC: he's born and raised the RL Phillipines), and she smiled, and walked off, figuring out what he meant before the interpreters could translate it.

"Oh, let me enlighten you about Automagfreek's record. Here is a public spreadsheet released by Automagfreek's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Hartman."

"Kane, can you please pass me the folder?" he turned around and asked his aide, who was a Malaysian.

"No problem at all, Jon," the Malaysian responded in an informal tone, and extracted the folder from his coat. He passed it to Abucago, who then read out the spreadsheet.

Fellow nations, lend me your ears. Having been hoisted aloft by my shirt by Lord Dreadfire and told to "do my job", I come here today as AMF Foreign Relations Minister to issue you all a statement and take questions.

Currently there is alot of controversy over recent AMF actions, and I am here today to offer you all an explanation. Here is a spreadsheet of recent AMF military campaigns.

******

Kahanistan

Automagfreek came to the aid of The Kraven Corporation, who was attacked for their internal policies/experiments. After attempting to resolve the conflict through diplomatic channels, Kahanistan and the other AKA nations refused and continued their offensive on TKC. Automagfreek assisted in protecting a sovereign nation from illegal invasion, and AMF forces were immediately gassed as they were coming onto the Kahanistani beaches. Terror attacks, VX booby traps, and military units hiding in civilian sectors have all come without instigation on AMF behalf.

STATUS: At War

Operation: Hellfire

An AMF fleet was fired upon for accidently coming too close to an uncharted Hogsweatian island. The resulting melee saw 6 nations simultaniously attempt to invade Automagfreek. And for what? Coming too close to an uncharted island?

STATUS: Invasion Repelled

Austo Hugary:

Declared war on Automagfreek for pulling support for the now defunct Fascist White States.

STATUS: Destroyed

Fascist White States:

Heavily abused Automagfreek protection and financial support. Used AMF's name as a shield in order to trounce nearby nations.

STATUS: Destroyed

Cam III:

Made certain comments that were looked upon as threatening to AMF security. Wether their words were taken out of context or not is under investigation.

STATUS: Resolved

The Island of Rose:

AMF is defending TIOR after several unjustified attacks.

STATUS: Resolved

The Trojan Empire:

Assaulting/about to assault AMF controlled Greece simply to control it for themselves.

STATUS: Resolved

Armed Knights:

Forming an Anti-AMF alliance following AMF reccomendation to have them removed from our region.

STATUS: Resolved

Dr_Twist:

A rogue general from Dr_Twist launched VX tipped shells into AMF controlled Greece for 3 hours, killing over 400,000 civilians.

STATUS: Resolved

***

As you can see, AMF has done little instigation in these matters. We have been the victim in most of these cases, and at this point were are very intolerant of threats to our security and our allies security. We appreciate the support of our allies who know what we are going through, and The Destroyer urges our enemies to take a step back and place themselves in our shoes. Let it be known that Automagfreek is not a mindless war machine, but instead we are a just nation with only the best intentions.

I will now take questions and comments.

Baelin leant forward in his seat, placing his folded arms in front of him on the table. He looked towards Xirniumite Grand Cardinals and then continued.

“As our noble allies of Holy Xirnium have already begun this discussion, I will continue from then. The Infinite Empire will be willing to import and export any resources or products that we manufacture, except our military technology. This includes the silver that Xirnium requires.”

"Likewise. If Automagfreek launched a full-scale invasion on the Union, we shall put up a fight, but not to the extent of Blood Feud or even Total War. But you cannot deny the fact it is the single most indomitable military power in the entire world: nations larger than Automagfreek have been given a huge beating from the Freeks, even before it changed it's official prefix from 'Democratic States' to 'Excessively Armed Empire'. Even the OMP and it's supporters, an alliance that mastered the Freek military's weakness: the seven seas, were obliterated...or they would have, because if it were not for Hogsweatian Missile Command computers gone haywire, giving one of the world's greatest socialist bastions an unworthy way to end. The Sentinels are not a force to be contended with, and practically every extremely foolish OR extremely brave government that has engaged with the Freeks found themselves drowning in a tsunami of gore. “The Empire has no official relations with Kahanistan. Our attention is currently drawn elsewhere, where we have our military forces, including a large portion of our fleet, occupied. Thus we have no intentions of sending vessels to their nation.
And to be truthful I do not find AutoMagFreek’s military to be ‘the most indomitable’. We have been involved in two wars against them and still survive.
Now, let us move on to why we are here and end discussions about something unrelated to us... ”

Ignoring Abucago and his aids petty attempts at intimidation, Baelin answered Hugoro’s question.

'We'd both have substantial gains from trade, and increase our prodction possibilities handsomely. We can leave the terms of trade to be negotiated with my subordinates at a later time, what's important now is an agreement in principle, if your government is willing.'

Article 1.

The Signatories of this treaty shall be bound to the principles of free and fair trade with the other signatories.

The Industries of the Signatories will be given free hand under the laws of the signatory nations to do buisness with other industries of other signatory states.

The Lord High Grand Inquisitor interjected, instantly recalling the relevant statistics, ‘Last year’s national potash consumption level was nearly equal to 8,500,000 nutrient tons, a figure that the High Ecclesiarchy wishes to vastly increase over the next five years. Now, I’m not entirely sure what the Ministry of Trade has in mind, but an increase of, say, 35%, that’s almost 3 million nutrient tons, would be a good starting point.’

Behind him the doors at this end of the room would silently slide open, revealing a quartet of Gold Skull Enforcers, and in the center of the Quartet stood an instantly recognisable man from all the statements issued, The Handsome, tall charismatic and engimatic form of the Suprainister, Denteth Tolion. He would advance inwards smiling around the room grandly, his eyes missed nothing, they seemed alive with an inner fire, this was a man truly fired by determination, his very being oozed the essence of drive and inspiration. Every single Novan in the room would draw up and snap a sharp salute and bellow a single line of the strange cyrptic and indecipherable Novan Language, which in essence meant, "We hail the leader who serves and is served, For now and forever may destiny guide our paths"

"Ah let me introduce to you, the leader of Novacom, Suprainister Denteth Tolion," Hugoro would turn with pride to Denteth and he would halt, "I do apologise for my lateness, There was a slight situation I had to deal with, Preparations have been made for evening accomodation, we do not beleive in sending guests off into the night," (OOC: a reference to the Myth of Gijurel an ancient Sage who sent messengers bearing words of great importance out at night, none of the messengers arrived at their destinations because of a great mythical beast, Also when he refers to guests he means anyone staying at the Portress Islands not Inner Novacom Territory) He would descend gracefully into a high backed chair, his long tunic billowing about the floor.

An Echoing noise, akin to a single drop of water falling into a cave pool would echo through the room, the Chef's were announcing that the Banquest was ready, the tabless in the branches of the room were sparsely arranged with bountiful plates, each of them a Novan Speciality, Dinner was served.

Baelin and Merrech quickly returned to their places as Denteth Tolion walked across to his seat. The Grand Inquisitor was surprised by the latest news of the Yallakian Imperial Chancellor, but concealed his interest skilfully. ‘That news is wonderful to hear, Lord Merrech, the High Ecclesiarchy will be overjoyed when they discover it,’ Lord Norath explained, smiling enthusiastically.

‘As to the other matter,’ the Grand Inquisitor continued more gravely, his voice lowering and taking a more ominous tone, ‘could you follow me?’ The High Lord motioned, his trace of a smile now completely gone, to one of the empty tables far away from any eavesdroppers.

Walking quickly to well outside of earshot of any of the other delegates, the Grand Inquisitor continued in a hushed yet clear murmur. ‘Lord Merrech, the Inquisition can tell you that we are have been making excellent progress with the bioweapon, despite some initial setbacks. Dr Severus’ research team have now completed the phase which called for engineering the contagion so that it only targets the Kraven filth, and not humanity. Of course, this was not easy; and unfourtunately failures occurred, failures which cost lives...’ Lord Norath did not elaborate on the precise manner of the deaths.

The Grand Inquisitor waved his hand dismissively, causing his cloak (which was of a black colour containing perhaps the faintest tint of green) to wave about. ‘Such costs are worth the price, of course, when the stakes are so high,' the Inquisitior explained. Even where he not able to preform such amazing feats of calculation in his mind, the Lord High Grand Cardinal would have come to this coldly logical opinion. 'Every individual working on Project Succubus was fully aware of the risks before it began, and all of the safety precautions possible were taken. Though their deaths should not have occurred, and the error has since been rectified, they did not ultimately die in vain. Project Succubus brings us ever closer to a world free of the Kraven menace,’ the Grand Inquisitor declared solemnly.

‘Stage 4 of our project is also now concluded.' the Inquisitor informed the Yallakian Imperial Chancellor. 'That phase involved the creation of an extremely deadly prion protein which would be the actual agent that causes the death of the organism. I’m told by Professor Severus this was not such a difficult hurdle to overcome, he simply took an existing prion (similar to that which causes the famous “mad cows’ disease”) and altered it so that it kills much more rapidly.’

‘Only one final task remains at the moment, and that is modifying the virus (which now targets cells that contain the signature gene markers of the foul slave troops’ DNA) so that it produces the prion agent after it enters the organism. With that done our assignment will be complete, though how long this will take the good Doctor can't say.’

“Indeed”, replied Merrech is his usual low tone. “Your quick development of this ‘cure’ is impressive, Lord Norath. The loss of such brilliant minds on the project is of course regrettable, but it is risks that lead to progress. There was a slight pause as he attempted not to think of how such deaths would have occurred. “Is the virus to be deployed like a chemical weapon, or will spread throughout the evil hosts of the Corporation once the first infections are achieved?”

“Should Doctor Severus require any assistance in the final phase he could always send any information or research gathered so far in an encrypted data transmission for our scientists to look at.” Merrech brought hand up from his sides, clasping them across his stomach. “I am sorry but the top Imperial personnel that could help you on this matter live within our main research facility and at this time cannot not take the time to leave their station and travel to Xirnium. “They are occupied in working on our latest breakthrough.” He gave a slight laugh, almost to himself. “Let us just say, nuclear weapons may soon no longer be the most destructive force within our arsenal.”

“But back on topic, do you expect any of the slave soldiers to survive?” he asked inquisitively.

From the other side of the room Baelin noticed the pair move away from the others. He shook his head, instantly knowing as to what the conversation entailed, before returning to the fine Novan food. He couldn’t conceive how Merrech had ended up in politics instead of as some elite special force member or secret service agent. He was sure if the conversation lasted long enough, Merrech would probably even try and join the Inquisition.

"Very well then General Kaivan, continue monitoring the situation, and move the 3rd fleet to Kyjakas just in case," THe Suprainister returned the salute from the General and watched as he left, before turning back and having a good laugh with Hugoro, sighing gently, "Ah Hugoro you serve the country well, just like your father and grandmother before you," Raising a glass of a Rare Vintage Novan wine to the air in toast, "To many more Generations of Sarestus, and to their continued success in Government, and of course to your continued successess as well," Chinking his glass with Hugor's he took a large sip sighing again, unlike other Governmental systems the Novacom system did not put stress on any link of the chain excessivley, and it showed.

Laughing again he gets up and back over to the table, this time taking a larger portion, Roast Duck with Jewel fruit sauce, licking his lips gently he gently piles on a helping of salad congratulating the chef's for their efforts and speaking words of admiration for the chef's still cooking juggling their knoives and making much clatter and racker, yet they made it look like they were putting on a show, and in their eyes they were.

The Grand Inquisitor Mordont Norath couldn’t help but note Merrech’s mention of a new and destructive weapon, and filed away the reference for further consideration. High Lord Norath ignored the food that was being served, and which the Grand Cardinal seemed to be very much enjoying, and turned back to the Yallakian delegate.

‘That depends to what precisely you refer, Lord Merrech,’ explained the Grand Inquisitor cryptically. ‘If you refer to those specimens that we are using in our research experiments, I’m afraid that they are subject to frightfully-high mortality rates. Our stocks are ever dwindling, yet we predict they will be adequate for Project Succubus’ needs. If, instead, you refer to the foul Kraven soldier population as a whole…’ the Grand Inquisitor’s said, lowering his voice to a barely audible whisper, ‘we expect the infection rate to exceed 85 per cent. Of those, the fatality rate is total.’

‘Since the Kraven beasts tend to constantly wear protective clothing, it will be necessary to deliver the weapon as an aerosol spray. We’ve managed to reverse-engineer the Corporation’s three-stage bioweapon in order to utilise the first phase for the neutralisation of their NBC clothing. As for your offer of help, I’ll be sure to inform the good Professor myself.’

"Hugoro I am sorry to send you away like this, but can you go and collect a report from my office on the Xharn situation please?" The Suprainister's words cut into an idle reviere, for Hugoro had been lost in thought, things had come thick and fast lately, Imperial Raven, Vrak, Xharn and many others what was the world comming to? War without end? Would the people be forever condemened to mourning cherised loved ones doomed never to return home to their families?

Nodding his head gently he rises, "we will reconvene in an hour, and then for 3 hours, we will reconvene in the morning after that, in the evening we shall see the first night parade of a weeklong event, The Festival of Light, it stands in for what other people have for Schristmas and New Year." whirling around he glides out of the room.

Having filled his plate with an assortment of Novan delicacies, Grand Cardinal Ameas Vernius, a tall, thin man of advanced age, returned to the main table to eat, sitting somewhat near the position of the Suprainister. Reaching inside the folds of his burgundy red cloak High Lord Vernius withdrew a small container and quickly gulped down a number of grey pills, aldosterone inhibitors for his chronic heart failure condition. A grimace appeared over the Defence Minister’s gaunt face. The medication always left him with a bitter taste in his mouth, so High Lord Vernius made sure to take a few long sips of the excellent Novan wine before starting on his dish, some type of meal involving octopus and an unrecognisable sauce.

His physicians had warned the Grand Cardinal time and time again to "make important lifestyle changes", to "stop drinking and smoking and to exercise regularly". What would they know? he wondered bitterly. At 78 years of age, the stubborn old man was too set in his ways to make any serious alterations to his routine. Besides, as a politician he needed to remain utterly ruthless, not worried about insignificant personal problems.

'A toast to our gracious Novan hosts, may the Immortal God-Emperor protect,' the Grand Cardinal declared, standing to his feet as he drained his glass. High Lord Vernius found this formal method of drinking to the health of others ironic, given the previous God-Emperor's violent demise, and smiled inwardly to himself.

Across the room, High Lord Vernius spied the Grand Inquisitor inclining his head towards the Yallakian delegate, evidently involved in a conversation with the individual. ‘Of course, Lord Merrech,’ the shadowy Inquisitor assured the Imperial Chancellor smoothly. ‘Once we are done with the Kraven filth the Emperor may have as many of the foul specimens as he requires.. to dispose of as he wishes,’ he promised darkly.

The Grand Cardinal frowned, Inquisitors are never to be fully trusted, one can never truly know what they plan. Of course, Lord Vernius was involved in scheming of his own, as he wondered about the upcoming party Caucus. The Grand Cardinal couldn't help but speculate on whether the Chief Minister would resign and, if so, whether he could outmanoeuvre High Lady Gilda in her expected attempt to be elected as party leader. Idly wandering over to pick up a large fruit from a bowl on one of the tables the Suprainister raises his own glass and returns the toast after declaring a few words in Novan, before then in English, "and may a good destiny forever follow all of you" the irony of the cardinal's toast was not lost on him, however though he was careful not to point out the nations millenia old atheism, the lessons he had had from Hugoro were paying off, still he had much to learn, Idly humming the Novacom Anthem and taking a bite from the fruit with a dull crunch, being careful not to make a mess as jewel fruit are often bursting with juices.

"Novon for your thoughts Cardinal" a large green coin would drop on the table next to the Cardinal plinking on the hard material of the table, Denteth would slip sleekly into a chair nearby and take another bite of the fruit, smiling gently, an age younger than the Cardinal, only of 28 years thrust into power early by the assassination of his father by the hated Admiral Kukonois.

The Novon itself is engraved with strange indecipherable caligraphs, on one side is an image of a man with his arms raised to a small crowd of adoring people, in front of him is depicted a crest hovering, the Novacom crest, on the other side of the coin would be the image of a proud man, who bears a passing resemblance to the Suprainister, around it are engraved seveal words.

The Grand Cardinal turned away from his dish and looked up at the Supranister as the coin landed with a clink on the table. He was struck by the youth of this man who, regardless of that fact, was the leader of all Novacom. Holy Xirnium's own Chief of Government, the venerable Lord Nidor, was almost a century old, and even the youngest Grand Cardinal in the history of the High Ecclesiarchy, Lady Gilda, was an entire decade older then Denteth Tolion. Despite that, the Novan had a certain air about him, a wisdom that belied his age.

Taking the coin into his hand the Grand Cardinal peered at it intently. ‘A “Novon for my thoughts”, is it, Supranister Tolion? Curious expression…’ Lord Vernius mused, turning the round coin over.

‘This individual, with his arms raised, it is yourself, is it not? And the other man, is he perhaps your predecessor and father, Supranister Malo Tolion?’ asked the Defence Minister. No doubt the answer lay in the meaning of the strange calligraphy, which to the Grand Cardinal’s knowledge none had yet figured out how to decipher.

‘When you have a spare moment, Supranister, I wish to talk to you personally about a matter of some concern to the High Ecclesiarchy. It is in regards to IXION, among other things.’

"After this ajourns for the evening I have to do my part for the Festival of Light, but after that I have some time, I was hoping to meet with both you and the representative from Yallak, I have something that I wish to show you, we could discuss it then or afterwards if you wish," his smile widens enigmatically, he was looking forward to the festival, it was always an enjoyable occasion he still remembered the first one he went to, and the speech his father had given the rallying call of the people the fierce roar of patriotism the palpable sense of loyalty and the sheer determination, in itself a Novan virtue literally being screamed out so loud the entire city had rang with it.

"You will like the Festival of Light Cardinal, this year's promises to be even better, you will have to come back later on as well, for Galshinden, tricky pronunciation I know but their isn't a true english equivalent," he had faltered slightly on the pronunciation, then again though translating Novan to English was hardly easy, the languages were radically different.

Elsewhere around the room the chef's began to place out fantastical deserts, one dish seemed to be a towering spire of diamond, while another was a steaming gateux with a strange fruit topping, another was a large bowl of icecream and on the list would go as these were laid out, as more of the unique Novan Cuisine was made available for sampling.

As I understand it, the effect that Jindrax had on Novan history was arguably perhaps the most important watershed in the history of Novacom,’ remarked the Grand Cardinal, as he finished on the octopus and began on some small grilled fish that were unfamiliar to him– perhaps a species indigenous to Novan waters?

Shrugging offhandedly, "Our Isolation has several reasons, you may have seen several large stroms brewing as you were brought here from the Portresses, that is one reason, and it in most cases is quite often the sole reason, leaving the homeislans in ancient times was a hazard to living, and later it inhibbited our industrial growth, The other reason was Cultural, we are very Duty oriented, the welfare of our people was priority, the final reason is more recent, you could call it culture shock, Admiral Kukonois, his betrayal during the Second World War, it sent ripples through all aspects of our culture, Betrayal is not in our culture, it is not in our ethos, that's why his Betrayal was all the more shocking and all the more tragic, Tell me though are you familiar with the Bermuda Triangle?" Denteth motions to an aide before thrumming away a sentance in Novan after which the aide hurries away, and would return a moment later with a plate with a pastry on and a small pile of a strange vegetable artistically arranged around a circular dish, plucking up one of the vegetables and swirling it in the thick sauce he bites into it with an audible crunch.
