I'd express my regrets at you leaving, but it's not as if I don't know you. that and I rarely ever RPed with you. (Remember the RIA! HAIL!)

Was there any clues as to why he left? It seems to me that he just got bored of the game after a while. I did that for a week or two and then came back. If it's boredom that made him leave, he'll have even more now. Just give him time. Few people leave NS permamently.

Well goodbye US. I hope that you return some time... we never got to do that RP in the end :(. Anyway, goodluck with whatever it is you're doing in the time you're no longer spending on NS.

The question “Why?” Indeed, a lot of people have been asking me that, and well, I suppose I owe an answer no matter how long and protracted it is to all my NS buddies. Well it’s rather simple.

Over the past few weeks I have once again become involved in Christianity. Absent from the religion for over eight years, it has left a rather nasty gash in my soul and, truth be told my life as well.

So, on Sunday just past I once again went to church, and the sermon truly spoke to me. It was about getting closer to Jesus, and “What have you given up or taken up lately to do that?” Now, being absent from Christianity for over eight years I sort of realised that well, I’ve done nothing, hell I hadn’t even read the bible in a long long time, and it slowly dawned upon me the Nationstates was consuming all my time, it was in effect distancing me from Jesus and my God.

So……..

I made a promise, rather unexpectedly to God in a prayer saying I would.

1) Give up Nationstates forever, which I am doing. Unified Sith will be handed over to Coreworlds to be kept alive.

2) Give up computer games for a month

3) Get healthy, work with people and get out and spread the word of God.

4) Learn the bible once more.

5) Grow in spirit and confidence.

6) Follow the Lords teachings, which I am seriously trying to do. Do you know, since I’ve decided to do this, I haven’t been angry at all!!!

7) Be serious about my religion and not shy away from being a follower of Jesus.


So you might say that my reasons for quitting were in fact religious conviction, and that I’m serious about following them until the end of my days.

Now I can still read the NS forums which I will do from time to time, but roleplaying is most definitely out.

EDIT: Now you guys may ask why not just cut back or come back to Nationstates in the future. Well the problem is I can’t. You see, I made a promise to God and well the last thing I want to do is break one of those!

MMmm yes, god, a good reason. One I cannot follow.

In this effort US, I believe you will fail. I say this without malice or intent to mock your efforts, on the contrary, I am a Christian myself and have forced upon myself a balance of my life and God, and I am glad that you've come back to God. However, I do not believe that it will be that easy to simply drop that which you have so enjoyed for the past 1-2 years or more; its just not that simple.

So, to give you a bit of a sermon, I will simply say something concerning your promises or, conditions for lack of a better term:

1) Give up Nationstates forever, which I am doing. Unified Sith will be handed over to Coreworlds to be kept alive.
This will be hard, and I feel as if you seem to be punishing yourself for this, even if NS did not exist 8 years ago, to pin upon it your faults in being away from God seems selfish and want of a scape-goat (no offense, sry).

2) Give up computer games for a month
Easy, I try to do this every now and then as well.

3) Get healthy, work with people and get out and spread the word of God.
This you can do, and I encourage you even more. But God did not call for every Christian to be a emmisary of his behalf; there are those who are called to spread the word of God and those who are not. I would recommend prayig and thinking on this one for a while to decide.

4) Learn the bible once more.
Very important

5) Grow in spirit and confidence.
Comes with time, and you already have confidence, If you believe in God and Jesus, he already did believe in you.

6) Follow the Lords teachings, which I am seriously trying to do. Do you know, since I’ve decided to do this, I haven’t been angry at all!!!
Another good one! And yes it does feel good not to get angry, but it happens since we're not perfect. Patience is a great thing to achieve, true Patience. I wish you luck with this; my sisters and school have taught me a great amount of patience...as well as my martial arts practises but that could be considered more mental training than Godlyness.

I wish you luck on this one as well. This will be the hardest above all to keep. Its very hard to talk about God with a group of your friends who are atiest or even violent toward talk of God.


All in all I hope that you keep your promises, and if that first one ever becomes too great a stress...ask a priest for absolution and do what you love. God did not want you to throw your life away for him as a fanatic, but to live with his purpose in a calm manner with an equal enjoyment of your life that he gave you.
