The French ships of the line Formidable (80 guns), Scipion(74 guns), Neptune(80 guns), and the Swift(74 guns), along with seven frigates and ten smaller ships have been posted along Milan coast line to BLOCKADE their ports and destroy their shipping. The French have also hired privateers, both from Europe and North Africa, to plague the Milanese shipping.
