What it is: The Oblivion-Class is ADC's first "pure" Super-Dreadnought design. It shares many technologies with the Ultimatum-Class Battlecarrier, including the EP3-X500 Nuclear Reactor, the AXinon Tactical Laser CIWS, the 10 in rapid fire naval gun design, the VLS-N2 Vertical Missile Launch system, and the advanced alloy armor. It is designed to mount a variety of weapons, including large naval guns (24 inches to 30 inches, that is still in debate), 10 inch rapid fire naval guns, 6 inch naval railguns, and sophisticated anti-aircraft, anti-missile and anti-submarine batteries. Unlike the Ultimatum, which is designed to be able to operate in many situations with minimal Anti-Sub and Anti-Missile escort, the Oblivion's purpose is to be a major force working inside a full battlefleet (a role that the Ultimatum is not optimized for with its two runways taking up valuable space that could be used for weapons). The ship formidable, and can take on literally any ship that ADC is aware of.
Why we built it: Essentially, to free up the two Ultimatum-Class battlecarriers to perform the role that they were designed for (supporting small task forces) as apposed to the role that they were currently serving in (basically the standard Super Dreadnought role in a large battlefleet).
