NOTICING: That the distribution of colonies has created a grouping of powerful nations to the east of the continent.

NOTICING ALSO: That these powers will most inevitably come to a power struggle, with alliances forming.

STATING: That in order to face these powerful alliances as equals, lesser but still great powers should walk together opposing them.

INVITING: All those to the west of the Continental Dividing Lake (End of the river I’m on) to join in alliance so that we may become a force, economically and militarily.

Good points have been made, if we are to truly solidify our rule in the area we need to band together as one, we in Sulosiki will gladly join the New Reichsburg Alliance.

Jerri Korse sat silently at the dinner table, contemplating where to go from here with his colony over a meal of minced pork and chicken. The powers in the east were far too strong to face alone, and he knew this quite well. Without aid, the colonies of the weaker west side would be punished severly for any mistakes they made. Unless, that is, they stood together.

This had been Jerri's sole reason for the founding of the NRA, and it had so far not drawn any attention from any of the eligible nations. His advisors had assured him it was only a matter of time before some of the more powerful eligible nations realized it, and they had just recently picked up news that a relatively unknown nation had accepted his offer. Before dinner, he had written a reply to the Colony of Sulosiki.


Esteemed Sulosiki,
We in New Reichsburg wish to welcome you with open arms to the Alliance, and hope that our mutual aid shall last forever. I would like to invite your head of state to my palace for a feast, so that we may celebrate this joyous occasion.

The Democratic Colonies, while most interested by the proposal for a regional alliance serving to better deter aggression and conflict, does have some reservations about the possible effectiveness of the alliance and what responsibilities the Colonies could be taking on.

The Democratic Colonies has learned that the Tinsuvilian Government is planning to hold a dinner and feast in the Colony of New Reichsburg, where delegates for the proposed alliance members will be in attendance. Should the Tinsuvilian Government find it acceptable, the Democratic Colonies would like to attend this feast in order to discuss the possible memebership of the Democratic Colonies in the proposed alliance in more detail.

IC: As he heard the news that Willink was willing to join, and that perhaps Democratic Colonies would as well, Jerri Korse smiled. Perhaps this would work after all.

Seeing as Stevid is an eligible country to take part in this alliance, we will move to enter our Empire controled colony into this alliance. Stevid and Tinsuvilia are nations that control colonies in very strategic places along the gorge of water to the East of this new world.

We would be hounered if you would allow the hounered nation of Stevid's New Provence Colony into this alliance through Stevid and Tinsuvilia diplomatic channels.

Can colonies situated off the main continent join?

See the map update Hogweat put me on (although for some reason he didn't put this on the front page as well) here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9923411&postcount=153). I'm the gold-ish colony on the southern tip of one of the southern islands.

OOC: Since going vertically you are about on the line, the alliance will accept you. Thanks for showing interest.

We thank the nations within the Reichsburg Alliance for their kind offer to Join within their Alliance.

We do not currently wish to take such a grand step at this time, however, we offer a Non-Agression pact with the Alliance. We will take time to consider full membership, and may decide to take such a step in the future.

We thank the various nations for their friendly intentions, and hope to engage in peaceful and productive discourse with you all in the near and distant future.
