Venuzeulan War (Earth VII)

Tony Roberts was a pilot. A pilot that was about to strike the first blow against Veneuzuela in the Rolatia/Warta Endor/Jagonia vs Veneuzuela war. He knew that his actions would unfortunately kill innocent civilians as well as treacherous government officials Ah, he thought, but Veneuzuela is a hostile country towards us. They would probably kill hundreds - no, thousands - of Rolatian civilians. He determinately dropped his payload. The target, Caracas. The attackers, forty stealth bombers. As they flew away, hearing the satisfying explosion, an group of anti-airs nearby fired at the bombers. Five suffered light damage, but none were shot down.

VENEZUELAN CASUALTIES: 5500 civilians, 750 military personnel
ROLATIAN CASUALTIES: None

The men were busy with their duties, cleaning their weapons, cheacking the Bradley's etc.

"All hands on deck! (they are Marines after all) All hands on deck!"

The men hurried to the paradeground in front of the barracks. The Warta Endorean flag flew proudly through the jungle air. There was a sort of exciting hum untill Major Peterson marched up in front of them.

"Stand at ease, men. I here read you a declaration made by the Emperor, His Majesty Karl Gustav II.

Hail brave troops, far from home!

The day of fighting has begun. It is your duty to fight in name of the Emperor and Warta Endor. Make me, and Warat Endor proud when we hear the news of your feats! Make us cry from joy upon hearing your name, the First Battalion of the Division of teh Warat Endorean Marine Corps! The brave few, the proud! I now calll you onwards, to the victory and then home! The harder you fight the sooner you'll be home again.

Hail!
Karl Gustav II

The news is just as simple as it is important. Rolatia has declared war upon Venezuela. Prepare your equipment and mount the vehicles."

The men scrambled and went to work at once. They packed their few belongings and mounted the vehicles. Soon they were on their way, into the jungle of Venezuela...

ooc. Rolatia, you tell me, or RP, where they go, kay?

Pax Pacisinite troops were deployed to Trinidad and Tobago at the very very beginning of the war. The troops had already deployed from Trinidad to Venezuela. The First and Second Brigades of the Navy went through the Orinoco River. They landed outside of Puerto Paez and headed straight for Pico de Neblina mountain. The mountain had severe rebellion according to Brazillian reports. Once the troops arrived they instantly set up a base on the foot of the mountain. They would prepare for the upcoming fight, but for the day they would rest. The Marine core however was also deployed. The 17th brigade. They were not as fortunate. The naval brigades were lucky to not have any fighting untill their target but the Marines were attacked by another enemy. They took refuge in San Felipe,Columbia on the border. During their night stay the Columbian military launched an attack. The Marines removed the Columbian troops no problem with no one wounded or killed on their side. In the morning Columbian government declared war on Warta Endor, Rolatia, Jagonia, and Pax Pacis.

OOC: This is my intro and I'll take Columbia out for the most part. Anyone who can help they would be much appreciated. After the war i'm gunna have Trinidad and Tobago and Columbia if it all goes right.

Pax Pacisinite troops began the climb up the mountain of Pico de Neblina. Reports were that they were going up the mountain to use it as a viewpoint. The Pax Pacisinite navy weren't going to take it 'for as long as there was Venezuelan resistance the war would not be won. They climbed the mountain not stopping.

"We're almost at the summit." spoke Sergeant Alex Derve

"Good." said a private

Suddenly shots were fired at them. Rocks flew everywhere. The men climbed up to a ridge. They sat and crawled into a tiny cave in the mountainside. They pulled out their weapons and ran through the cave to the other side. On this side there was obvious construction work. There was scaffolding hanging off the mountain and the sides of the mountain were carved out to make like a road. They followed the road struggling not to fall off the scaffolding as the wind was harsh and the scaffolding was flimsy. They walked untill the scaffolding ended and they were now on the actual carved out road, but there was a tunnel carved out of the mountain. The road was inside the mountain in a way. They walked and walked untill they found an opening. It was another cave. They walked in and they looked up. There were blue metal rods and beams up on the roof of the cave. They were holding the cave roof up. There was a large opening in the middle of the cave. The two brigades looked in at it There was a large Metal room. It was a training facility in the middle of the mountain. Them had instantly ran out of the cave and continued the climb to the top. They reached the top of the mountain they could hardly breathe but never brought oxygen tanks. The men inhaled and inhaled never really exhaling. The air was thin. They set five C4's at the summit and 1 near the cave with the training facility. They then called for an Apache Helicopter at once. Once it arrived the large group squeezed into it and flew off. Once they were about 100 Yards away they detonated the charges. The blast sent the whole mountain toppling. The earthquaked and rocked. There were no casualties for the Pax Pacisinite Navy mebers but about 200 + Venezuelans died. Many Navy members had frostbite and others had pnemonia and were taken to a hospital in Trinidad. The Marine 17th brigade called for an air bombing of San Felipe. The city was napalmed. The city lay disinegrated in a flaming heap. The 17th Brigade was flown to Scarborough, Tobago. There they would prepare for a raid on Columbia. The war had only begun... more heated battles were yet to come.

The Rolatian airforce was ready to fly through to assist Warta Endor in their strike on Cuidad Guyana. Three tactical strike squads were ready for quick deployment for assistance. They set off to the rear of the Warta Endorian forces, backed up by one huindred transport planes ready to fly to assist supplies.

Meanwhile, the first naval shot of the war was fired. A Venuzeulan frigate was sunk in international waters north of Caracas by the DS Holland and assisted by the CS Belize. This was the first use ever of the Rolatian Navy and it had proved successful for this purpose. The ships were part of a very small but modern and strong fleet

The first major battle of the war was to come on Columbian soil. Troop deployment from Trinidad and Tobago through the Panama canal to the Columbian city of Buenaventura. The ships went on as planned. There was a Super-Dreadnought and a battle ship. They had aircraft standing by as well.b They had tanks coming in on the ships. Columbia was the prime target. Venezuela was secondary. The troops moved in on to the beachhead about a mile west of Buenavista. They encountered a small group of resistance but they disposed of them quickly. They trudged forward. The 17th and 18th brigades of the Marine core charged toward the city. It was darkening out and they halted. They waited for it to get dark. Once the sun had set the brigades paraded onward to the city. The group reached the city and fired upon the citizens. Were they cold-blooded killers yes but not for fun or glory it was for peace and for life. Columbia must surrender. The troops trudged trough the streets shooting everyone. The smell of blood and rotting corpses sifted through the air. The men slaughtered all citizens in sight. They encountered some troops. They hid in an alley for cover as they Columbian resistance sat near a dumpster they rolled into the street. This was only the very beginning of the battle.

SAMO...
Greetings,
We refuse to go to peace with Venezuela. They have declared that they will not back down, and we believe that any peace settlement will have to involve them gaining Guyana - this we outright deny them. We know this as we have had talks with them already on the matter. We are liberating the Venezuelan people - they will effectively become a part of Rolatia and will be able to vote and enjoy the same civil rights as all other Rolatian countries.

It was a peaceful morning in the southern Guiana Highlands in the area between the two enemy forcs. The birds were quitely singing, and it was very tranquil. This was interrupted by the sound of rockets and artillery, as the Rolatian army started their attack on Venezuela. The field guns cut down the Venezuelan as they hurridely went to fetch their weaponry. They lost a great deal of AMX-13s and AMX-11s. The advance was not without casualties, but the battle was going well for Rolatia at current. However, this was only the beginning...

Meanwhile, near the battlefield a great amount of transport planes were landing and dropping off a cargo of 5000 SOV-06 Infantry Combat Vehicles. The latest addition to the army had been recently delivered, and the already trained men sett off with the vehicles to assist the war effort. The aeroplanes would stay in Georgetown, ready for a vital operation which would cause havoc in Venezuela

Four Venezuelan pilots had died heroically in another move outside of the battlefield. Three pilots had managed to somehow get out of Venuzeula with F-16 Fighting Falcons, and had iniated a strike on Holland itself. They managed to kill 282 passengers in a foreign civilian aeroplane when it was shot down and plunged into the docks, but were quickly destroyed from AD Russia's deadly fire. The fourth had been destroyed in El Salvador when his engine failed, but crashed into a church taking 18 civilians including a priest with him

One private through a grenade and killed the 4 Columbian Infantry Men. The two brigades each having 57 men trudged onward. They spotted a citizen here or there but no trouble for the most part. They waltzed dow the roads and strolled across the city. No one stopped or opposed them. The brigades had the whole city in 3 hours and only shot 4 Columbian Infantry Units. They wandered. This battle was a dud. Maybe Columbian forces expected the attack and moved out. They then split. 17th Brigade goes North along the coast and 18th Brigade went south. In 1 week the whole Columbian Coast was taken. There was no resistance. Not even in Cartagena or in Baranquilla. This was strange. There wasn't any resistance. The troops began to press inward. They met at the big Columbian city of Medullin. The brigades once again faced no opposition. There new target, Bucaramanga.

High in the sky flew an army of aeroplanes. Some sources have said it was nearly a hundred, but it was more like 75. The planes descended nearby the troops and a man walked out. He formally introdcued himself as Captain Roberts. He remarked "I'll be leading my troops today. We'll bomb the city with our stealth bombers and fighters", at which point he gestured to a group of aeroplanes nearby before continuing "The rest of the planes contain about 10,000 paratroopers. Once the bombing raids and such are over and you advance, we'll drop into the city and kill military personnel from behind". He paused and added "We will release any Venezuelan civilians we find and allow them to become full Rolatian citizens. Any questions?"

"OK then, but we'll only be able to deploy our stealth bombers there. Let us begin". He walked back to the transport planes, before pausing and stating "Good luck, and may we liberate this city. Oh, one note - as we embarked here, we detected that the city is more densley populated than normal. Be careful"
With that, he went to the transport planes, where he issued orders for the bombers to mobilize."

The stealth bombers gliding silently over the town, and released their payloiad. The huge explosions hit a great deal of military personnel, but unfortunately a lot of civilians Still, though Roberts, the remaining civilians will live happier lives. The town was so densely populated that these bombs caused havoc. And that was just the beginning...

The bombers flew off, turning 180 degrees and then going through Brazil on their return to Georgetown. Excellent though Roberts. He sent a message to Pax Pacis. It was a short note - 'The strike begins'. Time to cause some more devastation, he thought to himself. The strike fighters took off, ready to cause havoc. However, they met an unexpected obstacle in the form of ten old F-16 fighters. Roiberts, observing the screen, figured about eight were Colombian, and the oither two Venezuelan.. He issued an order, "Take out the jets!"

A huge aerial fight followed. Venezuela and Colombia could not take out the jets - they were outnumbered three to one. There was considerable damage though. The Venezuelan planes were downed quickly, and crashed into the area outside the city. The Colombian pilots were obviously skilled, and took down two and damaged five jets. Seven of the Colombian jets were downed, five into the city killing 1000 civilians and the other one had an engine failure and crashed into the city walls. After this tense battle, twenty of the jets attacked military inside the city, killing 1500 soldiers thanks to a strike on a building full of explosives, and destroyed another 55 tanks (which wiped out another 250 men) before escaping. Five of the jets (the damaged ones) flew over to southern Guyana where repairs were started, and the other two rescued the four pilots who were downed

Pvt.:"Sir! Movement there!"
Sgt.:"Open fire!"

Pvt.:"He's down, He's down!"
Sgt.:"Ok, move on!"

Slowly the men approached the city, shooting everything that moved, leaving a trace of bodies behind, civilians and military. Three men were wounded and one Bradley was destroyed with a well aimed RPG. Once they reached the city centre, occupying the police stations and city hall, they signalled Rolatian forces and Warta Endor HQ.

The gunfire was continuing in the Souther Guiana Highlands, with more casualities being claimed on both sides. However, the Venuzeulan military was struggling with its members falling back severely. More tanks were being ripped apart, and a decent amount of the troops were fleeing in terror. The commanding general had been killed when he was mown down by helicopter gunfire, and his young second-in-command was trying to re-organise and charge against Rolatian forces without much success. As he sat there, he could only hope the northern front was more successful. At least he knew that reinforcements would make it so that (including casualties) 80,000 in the South and 55,000 in the North would arrivew iinstead of the current 50,000 and 30,000

Unfortunately, the charge had started iin the north and was very unsuccessful. They were having to deal with the famous air forces of Rolatia, and they were not coping well. Their 12 F-16A Fighting Falcons (out of a fleet of 22, there were 16 left after three were shot down during a charge into Redmofo, one had an engine failure and two were lost during the assistance in Colombia. The other four were in Caracas) and 15 Mirage-50s were outclassed by 25 LU-45 jets (the remainder of the division had came from Guyana). The aerial fight had so far seen one downed Lu-45 but also 3 F-16As and 5 Mirage-50s. On the ground, the Venzuelans had lost over 5,000 men and several tanks

After Rolatian Minister of Defence General Adam Johnson heard that Warta Endor were backing up their forces with air support, he decided to join in the assistance because of Rolatia's strong air power. He sent to assist the Warta Endorians and his own tactical strike fighters with a division of attack helicopters (25 of them) as a backup force to the Warta Endorians. Napalm?!?Captain Roberts thought That's inhumane. We must now assist the innocent Colombian civilians as well as take the city. Luckily, there were medical forces on board twenty of the planes, and they dropped in with the paratroopers and instantly started treating the troops. The paratroopers themselves gave any Colombian soldier or civilian the opportunity to surrender, and once this happened they were loaded onto transports and sent to Guyana to be treated. A total of 350,000 civilians and 12,500 military surrendered and were airlifted or treated. An extra 475 transports were deployed. The paratroopers took some casualities but destroyed most of the military, and the rest had either surrendered or fled. It had been done - Bucaramunga had been taken but at a sickening price.

I try and minimize civilian casualities and give all enemy citizens the chance to surrender and go to Rolatia, where they will be accepted into society. I love to land with my well trained Marines in the middle of the enemies territory. With alot of air support from carriers and long range fighters. Then a fast advance to defeat the enemies forces and, Hey Presto! I've defeated them. I usually care about citizens, but sometimes I can get carried away. Once a conquered terriotory revolted, I withdrew my ground forces and immediatley carpetbombed the region with everything I had. At a large civilian cost, but there wasn't anyone who could rebel.

And carpetbombing usually do create a lot of civilian casualties.

The Venezuelan force had been re-inforced in the north, but it was still filing badly. In the air there was still a battle, which was rapidly ending. Another 2 Rolatian aeroplanes were down but so were 5 F-16As and 7 Mirage-50s. They were down to a total of five aeroplanes trying to fight Rolatia's dominant twenty-two. Or rathyer not fighting, as all pilots were speeding at top speed over to Caracas to regroup with the remaining jets - this made the total power of the Venezuelan airforce nine aeroplanes. The ground forces continued to advance and were assisted by the appearance of 1250 SOV-06s on their first use. About ten were destroyed along with some more various troops, but the military were now retreating to assist their side in the south. Rolatian army forces quickly followed

As of today the Columbian government has surrendered. Columbia has been absorbed into Pax Pacis and is now another state. It will be joining Equatorial Guinea, Portugal, Spain, Vatican City, and Trinidad and Tobago.

The troops had finally met in the Southern Guianan Highlands - this would be the battle that would probably decide who would control Guyana and Colombia. Venezuela were badly equipped with a smaller air force, but had fighting force number superiority and more tanks. Rolatia had a smaller force, but had stronger tanks, seventy air units (about a third of these were fighters and the rest attack helicopters) and tons of infantry combat vehicles.

(OOC: May not be able to post much more tonight, I'm very busy. Just thought I'd sum up what the two forces are in this border battle - it contains more than 50% of the enemy soldiers, their entire remaining air force and almost all of their tanks)

The guns thundered. Some men died, bullets embedded in their brains from the various M-16s and Hali-21 rifles being fired by thousands on each side; others were slain by the shells that erupted out of the tanks and field guns that hammered the Venezuelans in particular; more still died from missiles from the planes, either directly or indirectly by destruction of vehicles, direct explosions, crushing from shot down fighters, exploding planes and more. The tide of the battle turned against Venezuela as they suffered badly, with men dieing in their thousands. All this time, Rolatia was offering surrender.

In the air it was tense. The Hawks were dominating the Falcons with an impressive show of firepower, and the enemy planes were dropping by flies. The Venezuelans were proving difficult to destroy as their planes were darting and weaving. However, they were doing little return damage and when hit were felled very quickly. Of all the pilots downed, only two survived the ordeal and both plunged behind enemy lines

Eventually, as the interim general was incapicated and the amount of men left was reduced to a four-figure quantity, the final F-16 went down and an old general by the name of Jared Chavez decided that enough was enough - they had lost the fight, and they must stop before more were killed. He ordered his men to stop firing and retreat to a safer distance, while he sent a two-word statement to the Rolatian general - "You win".

As the commanding general read this, he immiedately sent out another two-word statement to his forces - "We win". The firing stopped and it was silent. Across the battle-scarred battlefield, General Jared Chavez walked towards General Thomas Garyoa. The two figures met, and Chavez said "You have soundly beat the Venezuelan forces. I expect you will wish to execute us now."

The response came "My friend, I have no reason to execute you or any of your comrades for their actions. You were only following orders from your leaders". He glanced off in the direction the Venezuelan forces silently stood. "Come, bring your men through to Guyana. We will make sure you are treated adequately and are brought into Rolatian society."

The men slowly walked forwards. They walked past the Rolatian forces; many stopped to shake their hands while the Venezuelans progressed. Transport planes were being flown in - the men borded them not fearing the Rolatians but rather realizing that this was the start of a good new life for them. Once they were gone, the Rolatians settled down as they knew that soon they would finally charge at the enemy
