Construction has begun in the new Pale Rider Arms colony of Phaethos! The ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Arcology took place today, presided over by PRA CEO and Otagian Regent-Elect Daniel Quetzal. The CEO also took the opportunity to officially name the arco, continuing the current trend of Greek gods, this time choosing Hermes as patron of the city-structure. Immediately after the conclusion of the ceremony, construction crews moved in, beginning the long process of construction. The estimated time required to build the structure, extrapolated from the current Arcologies in Otagia proper, is three years. The structure will be partially habitable by year two.

Construction of the Hermes Arco has progressed rapidly since its inception. Already the foundation has been dug and layed, as well as the casing for the nuclear generators that will be installed later this month. The frame of the massive structure is now taking shape, and sources at PRA say that the finished structure will be visible from space.

In related news, the Arcology's corps of Red Samurai arrived today, and have been housed in temporary facilities surrounding the Arco. These facilities will be used as suburban housing after the Arcology has been completed.

In a grand ceremony today, the Hermes Arcology located in the Phaethos colony was finally completed. This structure is the fourth such building constructed by Pale Rider Arms, following the Zeus, Hera and Hephaestos Arcologies on the Otagian mainland. The Hermes Arco has an estimated peak capacity of nearly 1 million residents, with power supplied by a trio of nuclear generators buried deep in the foundation. An underground river supplies much of the Arcology's water needs, and the rest is piped in from water purification plants along the coast. In an emergency, the Arcology can feed up to 500,000 citizens indefinitely with its massive buried aquaculture and hydroponics tanks. Residents are already flocking to the structure, eager to start a new life in Phaethos.

OOC: Somewhat PMT here, mostly in scale. All the tech is really quite feasible in MT, just blown up to gargantuan proportions.

OOC: Sorry to clutter but do you have a pic?

OOC: SimCity style right?

Leafanistan congratulates Otagia's newest construction and we hope that the arcology will serve its people for years to come.

OOC: No picture, sorry. It's essentially a flat-topped pyramid, 900 meters square at the base, 300 meters square at the top, a full 700 meters tall. Studded with point defenses, too. More Shadowrun style than SimCity, although the Darco (or whatever it was called) is similar.

Oh, and edited it a bit to reflect the residence calculations I did.
