History of Tanros
The Tanros sub-sector lies in one of the northern-most populated areas of the former Imperium of Man. The sub-sector was colonised shortly before the fall of the Imperium with the idea of creating a self-sufficient Terran outpost on the frontier edges of explored space, providing the capacity for its development into a fully-fledged military base for use by exploration and defence forces. Following the fall of the Imperium, the Colony government instituted the standard reserve measures for such an event occurring – the drive towards the development of a Terran empire that could sustain the Colony until possible contact with the Imperium or other human outposts could be established.
