This is John Edmonton comming to you live from the Imperial Palace. The Emporer, Mr. Galen Q. Leotardia, announced today that by the order of his predicessor, the International Imperial Elections are to be taken place this next week. The National Election polls took place yesterday and all civilians of the Pure Socialist Holy Empire turned out for it. The results of those elections are to be announced after the completion of the International Poll, which will be expected to take one week.
In accordance with the order from Former Emperor Shaz Bot, the number of people who voted in the National Election and the number of people from the International Election will be calculated seperatly and the one who wins the National Election, by theory, should win the International Election. Today the Shazbotdom News Network comes to you with the platform for the people who are running for the positions. New Political Teams have formed throughout the Empire, so they are broken down into their respective groups. They are the Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Shazbotdom First, and Independant. We now give you the Platforms for the Candidates:
Jackt P. Hegnithrea
Libertarian – Believes in peace through disarmament. Will disarm the Military and make all the Defense Budget go toward Aide to nations that are less fortunate. Will make Space a place for peace and turn the Shazbotdom Naval Space Force into a research organization for developing cures for diseases. Believes that alliances are a waste of time and will, in the future, cause more problems financially for the Pure Socialist Holy Empire than they will help. Says that if he is elected, he will drop out of all Alliances and have the nation go into a state of “Isolationism”. Which is where the Nation goes into a state of dropping out of the International Scene.
Thoughts on current situation – Believes that the national economy is in shambles and will only decline within the next few years if his Opponent, Galen Q. Leotardia (The Current Emperor), gets re-elected. Believes that the Military is a waste on the economy and that if the military is disbanded, the economy will, in fact, strengthen to it’s highest mark in decades.
Gloria Z. Carlson
Democrat – Believes in peace through negotiation. Will stop at nothing to help ensure peace through the art of negotiation. Believes that “Terrorists” are something that the Conservatives have thought up to make the common man scared for his life. Believes that the SCS Project was a waste of money for the Pure Socialist Holy Empire and will disband it if she is elected. She believes that a strong military is needed to be recognized in the International Community, but believes that the research into new ways to kill people is not needed. She says that she will disband the Shazbotdom Military Research and Development programs if she is elected to office.
Thoughts of current situation – Thinks that the Economy will recover itself. Believes that the Military is key to defend our nation against outside aggression.
Theodore L. Roose
Republican – Believes in strength through national pride. Believes that anyone who is Homosexual is unjust and needs to be purged from the nation. Will begin ‘re-education programs’ for those who are believe that the are homosexual so they see the error of their ways and understand that being heterosexual is the right way to live. Believes that anyone who doesn’t believe in the Christian Religion should be deported from the Pure Socialist Holy Empire to live in another nation (most likely a deserted island that will be nuked).
Thoughts of current situation – Thinks that Economy is doing great and will in fact get stronger within the next two to three years. Believes that the Military should be strengthened more.
Galen Q. Leotardia (Running Re-election)
Shazbotdom First – Believes in equality for all. Will continue to provide more rights for its civilians just like his predecessor. Believes that strength is by national pride as well as a well-funded military unit. Under his stewardship, personal freedoms have risen by more than 50% and the economy has gone from a middle state to the highest state in the past 8 years. Police funding is at an all time high as he has helped to keep the crime level to a minimum. Will do whatever it takes to make sure that the Pure Socialist Holy Empire stays as safe now as it has ever been.
Thoughts of current situation – Believes that is not right to change leadership in the middle of the biggest economic problem in the Empire’s history. Will work extremely hard to bring the Economy back to how powerful it was a few years ago.
Richard "Ricky" Harrington
Independent – Has stated no political viewpoint on anything within the Empire. Has stated though, “Everything sucks. I’ll make it better.”
