"Ladies and Gentlemen, we interrupt your normal viewing to bring you disasterous news. Just under 20 minutes ago the plane carrying the Premier was shot down in Siberia as it took off from Novosibirsk International Airport. Initial reports suggest three heat seeking Rocket Propelled Grenades, of older design, were fired at the plane moments after it took off. The aircraft, a Shorts Aerospace Celtayoshi LUX-XXX lost a wing as the pilot struggled to maintain cotnrol, it banked hard left and crashed into a steel works factory. Rescue workers were hopeful of finding the Premier alive, as the aircraft had elaborate safety features, specifically designed to cushion the Premier from a force such as this. However, the fuel laden plane ignited and became a buring fireball moments after it crashed. The NIAFB responded quickly but the live images you see indicate the uphill struggle they face.

Emergancy Services (http://www.jwz.org/fire/ladder-spray-wide2.jpg)

Police, fire and ambulance personnel are at the scene, and the latest estimates indicate that up to 30 fire appliances are trying to extingish the flames. I remind you that these scenes are live and you can see the uphill battle with the elements that the fire brigade face, both a torrid wind and the cover of darkness to contend with.

The Police have sealed the scene and the airport is now closed, the army has also joined in the hunt for the source of the RPG, and are searching the scene, more coming as we get it, our reporter will be arriving on scene momentarily."

OOC: Bascially its going to take the shape of the death of the Premier (note, no-one is sure he is dead yet!!!), and then the resulting struggle for power.

"And as we continue our coverage we can confirm that 45 minutes firefighters pulled from the wrekage of the plane a body believed to be that of the late Premier Németh. We can now cross live to our reporter who is in a crowd of the press that have gathered to hear a statement from the Chief of Police in Siberia."

The picture changes to a makeshift press area, with the crash scene still smoking in the background

"Thank you Mark, the Chief of Police has just arrived at the microphone now..."

"Ladies and Gentlemen, at 0831 hours local time this morning rescue crews from the Fire Brigade were able to access a forward compartment. In their they found two people. We can now confirm that this was Premier Németh and his wife. Both the Premier and his wife were still alive at this point, and we were able to move Mrs Németh out of her seat and into the ambulance, were she is now in a critical condition in hospital. Sadly the Premier died shortly after we reached him because of the injuries he sustained. The body remains in the plane, and will be taken out later and flown back to Canada.
As far as we can tell he survied the initial crash, and the fire did not reach his room thanks to the fireproofing done to it, however, the sheer strain put on the plane by the fire caused the upper level to collapse onto the Premier, seriously and ultimately fatally injurying him. Our rescue personnel continue to face the danger to reach any other survivors, but we are at this point unhopeful of finding anyone else alive. Our prayers are with the family of the Premier and those who have lost loved ones in this tragedy."

"Chief Greosbrov, can you clarify if this was a terrorist attack?"

"It is the view of the Police Service of Novosibirsk, and the Celtayoshi State Intelligence Service, that this was an act of terrorism. Earlier today we recieved a video from the Movement for Russian Liberation (MRL), which is a splinter group of the RFM, claiming responsibility for the attack. We believe this to be a true claim."

The screen returns to the studio

"Ladies and Gentlemen welcome back to the studio. We have recieved information that the Vice Premier will be making a speech from New Caledonia very soon."

34 Hours Since Crash

New Caledonia

Just before the speech by the Vice Premier, he was sworn in as the Caretaker Premier of Celtayoshi. He took his place on the stage in the Caledonian Theatre for the Preforming Arts, currently the offices of the Celtayoshi government. His speech was to be delivered behind closed doors, and delivered to a nation unsure of itself through radio and television, with only the newspapers there to listen. His voice was shaky, and he was clearly disturbed by what had happened. He did not inspire confidence, but made it clear he would do his best, and try to take the country out of this disaster. He pledged to fight terrorism, and vowed not to rest until the criminals who murdered the nations leader were caught.
Sadly, he too would not live to see the motherland again. As the convoy he was in drove to the international airport through the closed streets a group of four cars rammed through Police lines and forced the driver of the Caretaker Premier to swerve violently, straight into a building at 130kmph. The CP was killed instantly, as were his driver, bodyguard and assistant. The Police then began a short lived chase for the four cars, all of which were halted by Police snipers from helicopters, or hastly assembled road blocks. They quickly arrested the men.
Celtayoshi would now have two state funerals to conduct, and worse, there was no clear successor the the Premiers. A lot would hince on the next emergency meeting of parliament.

Novosibirsk International Airport

The coffin was carried by six Celtayoshi Guards, the Premier's own bodyguards. Draped over the oak coffin was the flag of Celtayoshi, and the Premier's seal. The coffin bearers passed through the ranks of soldiers standing to attention on the apron. The national anthem was playing as they walked into the body of the military transport.
The Premier was to be taken back to Ottawa, where his body would lie in state for three days. The citizens of Celtayoshi would be allowed to pay their last respects before a grand state funeral to celebrate a great Celtayoshi citizen.
As the plane waited at the beginning of the runway the last leaving formalities were completed, a 21 gun salute to see off possibly the greatest Celtayoshian ever.

Ottawa Premier Airport

The crowds were huge, Police estimated over 250,000 people lined the streets to get a look at the coffin as it was taken by carriage to Celtayoshi House. It was an appropraitely grand affair as the Premier was taken by horse-drawn carriage to Celtayoshi House. Many people were crying, hours before the Vice Premier had travelled these same streets.
When the carriage got to Celtayoshi House six more Celtayoshi Guards carried the coffin to a room in the West Wing, where all the Premier's before had been taken to remain until the funeral. For now only close family members could visit the body, but within hours the Public would be allowed to file past. The funeral arrangements were still being made, however, it was expected that a full state funeral would be held in the Cathedral of Ottawa, televised on national tv, and on large screens so the public could get a view from outside. The route taken by the coffin would be passed numerous significant sites, such as the Parliament, the War Memorial and past Celtayoshi Park.

There was to be a week of national mourning, and the flags on all government offices would remain at half mast until after the funeral.

From the officer of the Prime Minister

"On behalf of the Kingdom of Norway, I strongly denounce the actions taken against the nation of Celtayoshi, and pledge to offer any support the nation of Celtayoshi wish in order to track down and apprehend / kill the people responsible for the cowardly murders on the Celtayoshian Premier and Caretaker Premier.

I wish to personally attend the funeral of the Premier and Caretaker Premier, two of the bravest men I have had the pleasure of calling friends. They will be sorely missed. To the families of the two men, I wish to offer my deepest condolences, and those of the Norwegian people. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this hour of sorrow.

As a token of how cowardly we Norwegians consider this attack, I am hereby declaring the 'Movement for Russian Liberation' a terrorist organization, and instruct all Norwegian government agencies to work with our Celtayoshian brothers to stop this terrorist organization, using all means necessary, as long as they are within the confines of Norwegian law. They shall not prevail for long.

Again, my deepest condolences to the families of the dead, and to the Celtayoshian people. You have lost two great men today."

Statement from Patrick Nikea, Temporary Leader of the Celtayoshi National Party.

We are very grateful for the kind words that have flooded in from around the globe. We are glad to see that such a cowardly action does not find favour with our allies. Let me assure my friends that we will not rest until those who did this are brought to justice.
But for now we have a funeral to attend, where we can celebrate the life of two great men, and those many others who died simply because they were doing their job.

The lines had stretched for miles, many had to be turned away. As it was, the coffin now lay at the enterance to Celtayoshi House ontop a horse drawn carriage. Walking behind the carriage wold be the close friends and relatives of the two Premiers, closely followed by representatives of the army, air force, police and many other significant groups in Celtayoshi. They set off slowly, and in a very sombre and dignified manner. Along the two mile route thousands lined the way. Many carried flags and messages of sympathy. Some threw flowers onto the road, only a few did not have a tear in their eye.
Once the procession reached the cathedral the horse drawn carriage stopped. Six men, the Premier's son, grandson, and a close friend joined three Celtayoshi Guards in carrying the coffin up the steps and into the cathedral. The same was done for the Vice-Premier. As this happened the national anthem was played, and the coffins were layed down on the tables that had been layed for them.
The leader of the church in Celtayoshi conducted the service, an hour long affair that finished with a minutes silence, broken at the end only by the national anthem. Around the nation everyone stopped to pause. The same twelve that had carried the coffins in now brought them outside into the cemetary, where a short private burial service was held for family and friends only.
At the end of the service two men left quickly in the same car, one was the Minister of Agriculture, the other, a prominant businessman of a large Celtayoshi company that produced computer components. The Minister of Agriculture was a very powerful man who was attempting to maneover himself into the Premiership. The Minister begins the conversation.

"So you believe all will go well then?"

"Why should it not, we have already bought out the interior minister, his support will be vital. Many people trust his views."

"What of the Defence and Intelligence Ministers, they will prove troublesome, both will want the Premier's favourate?

"Leave it with me, they are old men, soon they will be out of the way. It will nto be hard to fragment a party as large as this, and that will buy us time to let the old guard...die off..."

The two men shook hands and the Minister left, no-noe had seen there rendezvous.

Agrarian Unrest?

Minister for Agriculture creates split in CNP

by Gordon Yusef, Investigative Reporter

Sources deep inside the Ministry of Agriculture had revealed to The Nation that Minister Frense has been secretly going around securing support within the Celtayoshi National Party against the temporary leader, Patrick Nikea. The source, who for obvious reasons does not wish to be identified, has indicated that Frense had been meeting industry leaders since after Premier Németh's funeral in an attempt to gain finance for his campaign. Elections for the new leader have already claimed blood when a strong supporter of the Nikea campaign was attacked in his home. Our source claims Frense had authorised this attack, and several like it to weaken support for the would be successor.
We have also obtained evidence from the State Intelligence Service that a secret memo created by the late Premier just weeks before hsi death has gone missing in mysterious circumstances. It is the understanding of this paper that it contained critical writings about numerous high ranking ministers, and effectively paved the way for the former Ambassador to Cotland to become Premier. The CYSIS have begun a detailed investigation but admit the chances of finding the missing paper are zero, especially since it has likely been destroyed.
The source said that the Minister for Agriculture has secured the support of numerous government departments through buying them out and offering them elevation above the traditionally prestige Ministries of Defence, Intelligence, Education, Foreign Affairs and the Environment. It is therefore likely that Frense would have gathered enough support to negotiate his way through the first few leadership elections, and force a close tie off.
When we tried to contact Mr Nikea we were given a statement that read as follows:
"The serious accusations made against the Minister of Agriculture are unsurprising to my department and supporters. The Ministry of the Environment has already asked the Intelligence Department to conduct a review into Minister Frense's campaign to become Premier. This investigation is due to begin shortly before the first leadership elections in a weeks time."
No sources are available from either the Intelligence or Defence Ministrys, traditionally unwavering supporters of Premier Németh, and who have already declared their support form Minister Nikea.
Our source inside the Agriculture Department has also revealed how the Mr Frense has been approaching influential party members with bribes and blackmail, something Mr Frense has denied to this paper in a statement he gave us. Needless to say the CYSIS and Celtayoshi National Party Member Standards Deparment have been contacted with our evidence.
