OOC: This thread serves two purposes; the claiming of New Zealand and resolves the story of what exactly happens to the survivors of the destruction of Makkah, which happened in this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=449028) thread.

IC: Makkah, Carthaginian Arabia

It had been just days since the giant pillar of destruction had come crashing down on Makkah, and the city (or what was left of it) was in ruin. Millions had died in the impact, and the few survivors were in desperate need of aid. A young Imam, Yuusuf al-Jeddah, and the band of survivors he picked up, were searching Masjid al Haram, the mosque at the center of Islam, to see if they could salvage anything. As his followers searched the ruins, he went down to the Kaaba, which had been hit by a piece of the giant slug that had fallen off during it's entry into the Earth's atmosphere.

As he approached the Kaaba, he saw dead bodies everywhere. As the holist site in Islam, there were always many people around the building. After looking around outside, he walked into the crushed building. Inside, he also saw death and destruction, as well as a peculiar sight. The Al-Hajarul Aswad had been split in half. One half was lying on the ground, yet the other half was no-where to be found. Sensing that God had lead Yuusuf to this location, he picked up the remnant of the Black Stone and went out to converse with his followers.

"My brothers and sisters, Al-Hajarul Aswad has been split in half, and I could not find the other half. I believe that Allah has done this for some reason, yet I do not know why." One of his followers stood up and said, "But Yuusuf, is not the Black Stone just a stone? Why would Allah place importance in it?" To which Yuusuf replied, "It is not the stone that is important; it is what it represents. The stone is all that is salvagable of the Kaaba, and as we all know this giant weapon of shaitan has made it so that we cannot rebuild Makkah in it's former glory. That is why I have decided that we must gather as many followers as we can, and set out to find a new homeland. There, we shall build another city in Allah's name, and we can save Islam from collapse."

For the next few weeks, Yuusuf and his band found thousands people who would travel with them to find a new homeland. They brought a petition to the Republican government, who then relayed a message to the Suffete. The Suffete then decided that a new land was needed for the Muslims, and New Zealand had just opened up. Seizing the opportunity, the Republican officals sent a small army to seize the land for the Republic, and soon Muslims from all over Arabia began their exodus to their new land.
