Imperial News!
Today, at 0500 hours the Imperial Covert Forces were fully mobilised to begin what is being refered to as 'Phase One' of a huge reformation process, which involves the merging of the current ICF into the Army and then re-selection of suitable candidates. Details are classified at the moment, but it has been released that the process should take three to five years. We have 2nd Lieutennant Roger Adams here, on Imperial News.
"Well, the way modern warfare is going the emphasis is on fewer men with better kit, and we plan to give our boys the best technology that the Empire can offer. This merging and re-selection will allow us to take the best of the best and improve them. We've already secured a contract with the Imperial Military Idustries for new equipment, but I'm afraid I can't say anything else on that now. Thank you."
The Field Marshal walked up and down the line of soldiers, inspecting each one with a critical eye. They were reasonably well armed, but poorly armoured and with little electronic equipment. For years the Imperial Covert Forces had worn the same battledress, but this was about to change. Many things were about to change, this was simply the first of many.
"Dismissed!" He called into the silence, and watched with pride as the soldiers turned and marched towards the barracks. They would collect their belongings and board the train to take them to the nearest Army facility. Tattered flak vests and sub-standard assault rifles were piled up and moved by bulldozer for recycling, with anything high quality put to one side for sale.
The era of a slacking military was over, with funds through the roof and permission from both the President and the Cabinet to do whatever it took to get a highly trained military force. Whatever it took, he thought to himself, Those petty politicians have no idea.
And two-hundred feet below him, a recently furnished research facility was being activated for the first time. Their job down there was to solve a problem; to 'streamline' something, so to speak.
Nations of the World,
In, light of a recent military overhaul, we have been left with litterally millions of assault rifles and other small arms. Also, we have older models of missile and all the other old weapons left over from the reformation.
