The Multiland Leadership has once again proved its compassionate status by agreeing to allow loads of refugees into Multiland, in the Refugee Section of Multiland - an area bordering the island which has been reserved for people who's applications to become Multiland Citizens have not yet been approved/declined.
The refugees will be arriving from various parts of the world where bloody battles are being fought, and have asked for International Assistance - Multiland has stepped up to provide that assistance, and urges other nations to do the same.
Refugees will begin arriving tomorrow and the Leader himself has personally ensured that boats have been sent from Multiland to pick up those who want to enter Multiland. The refugees will be temporarily placed in Emergency Housing in the Refugee Section of Multiland. The housing is basic, providing rows of beds (with seperate sections available for men, women, families, etc), showering and toilet facilities (with baths in the family section), but no kitchen, though at least one hot meal will be provided daily, and cold food will be distributed to refugees. Of course, special diets will be catered for.
Once a refugee has been accepted into Multiland (some may not be, based mainly on whether there is a real threat to them if they not accepted) as a citizen, they will first receive state benefits but will be expected to get a job if they are able (those who are considered not to be able to get a job would be persons such as permanently disabled persons).
Once a refugee has settled into a job (they will be given about three months, and allowances will be made if their employer is breaking the law, for example by not paying them what they are owed), they will be expected to pay some of their wages to the Leadership in return for the assistance that they had previously received - this will help to ensure that resources are not wasted and that people who manage to "slip through" the system and enter Multiland under false pretences will not be able to "scrounge off the state".
